contest is a rip-off
Subway's "Fiery Footlong Frenzy" contest is nothing but a rip-off.
Within two weeks, all my local Subways had no more 32 oz cups with contest codes.
The codes on Sun Chips Monterey Jack and Tomato are repeats - there seem two be only three or four different ones printed on the bags, and Subway's website tells me "You've already used this one. Sorry."
The stickers put onto breakfast sandwiches are also extremely limited in number. I got the same code on two different stickers IN THE SAME VISIT! And (as noted above) they don't allow use of any code entered before.
Consider this: With over 140 trillion possible combinations of 10-letter codes, why should there be any repeats?
Obviously, to lure people into buying their products to enter a contest in which the customers cannot possibly win a prize because the contest codes are no good.
Subway gets your money -- you get frustration.

We had ordered 7 subway sandwich, particularly specifying, based on the past experience, that kindly put sufficient ingredients and the sauces. Also had asked the concerned person to take down the order on a piece of paper so that there is no confusion on the specifications of the choice of bread and the contents. However, the order was not as placed. The oreganos bread was replaced with a brown bread and also there was as good as nothing in the subway s/w, no tomatoes, olives and lettuce and sauces.
Highly disappointed with the service. Kindly need you to look in to the matter as this is not the 1st time we have such a complaint. Also keeping in mind that the order was of around Rs 700, which is not a petty amount. ALso the person taking the order says that the s/w will be of a lower grade as there is a lot of rush - are we not paying the same amount as the others are, while placing the order at the store?
The manager there was Ashutosh – who, when complained to did not give the desired response. All the more dis appointed - we actually need a refund as most of us did not eat the sandwich.
THERE IS NO RESPONSE TILL DATE INSPITE OF POSTING COMPLAINTS COUPLE OF TIMES!

steak and cheese rip off
Yesterday I went to subway and decided that I wanted to try something new. So I looked at the menu and I wanted the steak and cheese, not the big philly cheese steak. I only had about 8 dollars so when they were done with my sandwich they told me to pay 9 dollars. I said wait but I ordered the steak and cheese which is only $6.75 and he told me no that i had a cheese steak. So i said whats the difference and he responded with IT costs more. SO I said Im not paying extra for something I didnt order. So he talks to the person that made my sandwich and he came back told me sorry. So i got my sandwhich. What i dont get is why make two sandwhiches so alike that the employees cant tell the difference. Other than that, I love subway!
I just wonder why it is when you order a basic sandwich at Subway, a normal slice of cheese is tossed on at no extra charge. However when I say "no cheese", I don't get a discount. Then I watch my friend behind me order "extra cheese", and they get charged extra for the cheese I should have received free. I bet Subway has some interesting tax return statements.
if you paid $6.48 for a sub at subway you probably got extra cheese or bacon. plus the tax you ###.
clerk with attitude!
The average sanwich order that I always get from every Subway normally with a smile was a great challenge for the girl making my sandwich on 8/25/10 at 4:42 p.m., . A 6 inch tuna with swiss on white/ toasted w/ tomatoes lettuce and mayo. She drug herself into the assembly line and rudely asked me what was it I was getting again "you was just gettin a...
Read full review of SubwayThink twice you rude customers
okay, all you people that have the most unnecessary complaints about subway, how bout you look at it from the other side of the spectrum. I work at a subway and have some advice for you brainless people.
1)we cannot put four handfuls of onions or a whole container of pickles on your sandwich. Everything has guidelines just like every other store. Stop complaining how you don't get enough vegetables and learn that unless you want to start being charged for vegetables, let us follow OUR OWN RULES.
2)everyone says that we have a bad attitude. first of all get off your cellphone while being in the store, stop yelling at your kids or talking to friends. we have a job to do and we would rather not want to wait for you to get your act together. We ask the same questions for every sandwich, so help us out by just telling us what you want. We don't need our "robotic or monotone" voices if you would juss tell us answers to questions before we ask them.
3)if you tip your waitress/waitor at a restraunt for just serving your food, then why dont you tip or even thank the people that make AND serve your food. Its so hard to even hear a thanks from customers anymore.
4)We DO NOTTTTT want to hear lame jokes, like when we ask what can i get for you? then do not use the following responses: a million dollars, the winning lottery ticket, a sandwich, or WORST OF ALL-- I DONT KNOW. you know you are obviously coming to subway. you have thoughts about subway. how do you not know what you want? and if you are ordering for someone and we ask, for instance, what vegetables you want- dont say whatever you usually put on or i dont know. WE DO NOT HAVE A USUAL THAT WE PUT ON! every customer is different and has what they like and by saying i dont know, WE HAVE NO BETTER IDEA!
5)at my subway, we dont do mini sandwiches anymore. stop complaining and just get a six inch. if you get a kids meal, you HAVE to get APPLES, not chips, and WHITE/CHOCOLATE MILK OR JUICE BOX, not pop. we don't have any control over this. we cant jus put make your own kids meal on our computer. also we do ham, turkey, roast beef or veggie for minis. as you can read this does not include veggie, bologna or chicken. also, you know what your kdis are going to get PLEASEEEE DO NOT LET THEM ORDER, we cannot hear them and they are slow. im sorry, juss bein strait up.
6)LAST AND MOST IMPORTANT: DONT SAY I NEED OR I WANT OR GIVE ME. USE YOU FCKN MANNERS AND SAY CAN I PLESAE HAVE. ITS SO DISRESPECTFUL AND RUDE WHEN YOU SAY THINGS LIKE A IMMATURE CHILD. 4 OUT OF 5 CUSTOMERS DO THIS. DONT BE ONE OF THEMMMMMM!
td577: get your facts strait. there is no longer a "works" subway has gotten rid of it for about a year now. thanks though for tryin to bash me, even though it didn't work. and i am nice to customers, they are just rude and such. obviously you seem like a person who sits behind a desk dealing with nothing but computer issues. ha. whatevs.
Shannon35: there are parents that let their three year old order. not only are they not above counter height. but their voice doesn't carry to your ear and they don't even know what subway is. I can handle a 9 yr old. duh. you are stupid.
elizabeth: there is not just a regular, maybe a recommended for healthiness, but not a recommended per person for taste buds. and i was putting more of an emphasis on the thank you, the tip juss came out because people tip waitresses, just a comparison
to summer in the sun: shut up. lol. i dont use caps and rude language in person, you cant use caps in person. that was just dumb to say, but anyways, i am polite but im just trying to imform others of how many things customers can do wrong and im trying to help them because ive read almost al lthe complaints and not one is legit.
to food for thought:haha i would love for someone to say that to me, it might make my day. AND THANK YOU FOR SAYING THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY!
I totally agree with some of the complaining points! But, like many have posted, this person sounds unglued! There is nothing more annoying than trying to wait on someone who has a phone PLUGGED INTO THEIR EAR! It's beyond rude. Perhaps a good response would be, take your time, I will wait on the next customer, let them stand with their phone glued to their ear wondering why they aren't being waited on!
Too many times I've been in a Grocery check out with the person in front of me having a PHONE PLUGGED INTO THEIR HEAD, and the poor cashier is trying to get their attention. At this point, I would love to see the customers groceries put aside, and tell her there is a long line, and when she is ready, she can go to the end of the line!
But, unfortunately there are too many obnoxious rude customers who never learned common courtesy, but at the same time, the job requires much patience, and if your one who lacks patience, working @ a SUBWAY is not the place for you. I find many Subways are owned by Foreigners who's English leaves much to be desired, along with their communication skills, which can be frustrating. Technology has created some serious problems, but guidelines have to be enacted for everyone.
This is why I get so angry, because its fools like this that make all subways look bad...if this way my employee i would not only have her fired she would be charged with harassment of customers
you would be fired in 5 seconds, i cannot believe you just posted this, someone should put a pic of you on a store front that says " please do not hire this lazy, disrespectful, stupid and yet ignorant fool"...amazing...no class just stupidity
Explain the guidelines so your customers know what they are paying for, you get a six inch with 1/2 tablespoon of meat and you gonna tell me 2 of those going to fill footlong? I believe workers be taken food home
I'm paying 8 dollars for a sub I can ask for it anyway I want..customer always right...So can you please hurry up some of you are slow as molasses
I just wanted soup. Usually subway workers are full of anger but damn give me a broccoli and cheddar. Sorry you're so unstable and hate your job. Get s new job. Maybe something without humans. Omg. What a [censor]. I'm sure when you run out of soup at noon..no more is made
These ### tbat work at subway especially at fallriver ave in seekonk need to put Thier weed pipe away until they get out of work and stop making a fool out of their selfs.do u not hear how stupid and low life u all sound. Quit ur jobs and get a job at ur local bar thats the BEST PLACE for ur weed head dumm ### lmfO
Ur all a joke all u workers from subway.
I went there [protected]. I gave the cashier $27 dollars for a $16 order. I waited to see what the cashier would do. She just gave me the cent change and the receipt. I told her she gave me the wrong change. She asked to see my receipt and kept it. Just gave me $5 back. Now I have no receipt to prove she scammed me. This is poor business. Bad people. I told her I would report her and she proceeded to call the police to defend her scam. I just walked out of the restaurant. Subway Store number #72.
Ashley was quite rude. She got in a yelling fight with the lady in front of me because she would not toast the lady's sandwich twice. It was 5/26/16 at 1:24 pm. It was completely rude and useless to get in a fight like that. All you had to do, Ashley, was toast it again you big baby.
She was rude an annoying. She is never nice when I come in. Always with an attitude.
double charging debit card
I purchased one 5$ foot long Subway sandwich and got charged on my debit card for two. The attendee at the Subway the next day said that I would have to bring in my bank statement and the original receipt before they would refund any money. I live in another town away from this Subway and feel that there has to be another way rather than use up gasoline or...
Read full review of Subway and 3 commentsvery unsatisfied, poor service
I was very unhappy with my sandwich from suubway. Unfortunately I opened it when I got home so was not away with any issues with the final product.
I ordered a veggie and had to fight to basically get any veggies on it. I asked for black olives and she put 5 on it, there were 4 thin strips of onion, and 3 tomatoe slices. They were out of cucumbers. I was about 2 inches in before I found any veggies on the sandwich, which I threw anyways because I asked for a little salt and pepper and she loaded it with just pepper!
I will definately not go back to the subway at the Holyoke Mall in Massachuetts!
Did you not watch her put the salt and pepper on? You should have told them it was too much.
overpriced for what you get
Food is way overpriced and not even that good. I ordered a 6" sub with a coke and a bag of chips and they charged me $8.50... Ridiculous! I can eat a full coarse meal at a much nicer restraunt for that price. Fast food is a rip off!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
THE SUBWAY RIPOFF - Funny how Subway advertised the $5 footlong sandwich which included ANY sub on the menu, but once allegations were made regarding the actual size of their footlongs measuring only 11 inches they modified their advertising to exclude this language, promised their subs would in fact measure 12 inches AND more importantly they increased the price of ALL their sandwiches! The bottom line here, the executives clearly knew making their sandwiches 1 inch short would save them an average of .40 cents per sandwich and when they were called on that fact is when they increased the sandwich to the 12 inches as promised but raised the price to ensure they didn't lose that .40 cents. In fact, they are actually making out better this way because they have given people that extra inch but is also charging them more than twice as much for it.
Another note here is the fact that Subway measures all the meats on their sandwiches. They claim this is to ensure sandwiches are made consistently but the reality is, based on reports from internal sources, they would become obsessed with the fact that they could save a penny here or a penny there by giving customers the absolute minimum - and that all adds up to money in their pocket and less food in your belly.
I absolutely LOVE the commercial from a competitor that shows their sandwich next to a subway sandwich where they use a vacuum cleaning to take off all the lettuce and other toppings, leaving just a few pieces of meat on the bun because it's absolutely true. After carefully analyzing the amount and type of meats they put on, you're actually paying for the bun and toppings -- because on average THEIR costs for the meat they put on each sandwich is about 35 cents ---- on a nearly $9 sandwich, so tell me that's not a rip off?
$8.67 for all you can eat (senior) at Hometown Buffet before 4PM. The chicken is better than KFC...plus all those trimmin's.
manager
The Subway in Rochelle IL is one of the worst. Management that steals money, tells employees not to contact them because they are going to be doing so much drugs they wont be able to answer their phones. The management does not have a professional bone in her body. They pay less than minimum wage. Does not give their employees breaks at all even if they...

My boss and I wanted to use a "Free Sub" coupon that said "Get a regular 6-inch sub free when you buy a 6-inch sub of equal or greater price and a 21 oz. drink" My boss got a 6-inch turkey & bacon avocado on wheat bread. On July 17th at 19:00 hrs. My family and I walked into Subways at 118 W Stetson Ave. Hemet CA, 92543 for three sandwiches. One Italian Spicy Sub, one Tuna, and a Chicken Salad Sandwich. They said “we have no Chicken Salad” we then said how about Chicken teriyaki. David P. “employee” said we don’t have enough of that type of Chicken "Shredded". O.K. so we...

Read full review of Subway and 5 commentswould not accept coupon
Subway would not accept a coupon that reads buy a sub and a 32 oz. drink and get another sub of equal or lesser price free> The coupon expires 8/31/10. It doesn't say anything on the coupon about being a participating party> They said they didn't have a key on their register to accept coupon! We don't have a problem with the prices of your product as you are very reasonable priced but if there is a coupon we like to use it as you know everyone has to to save when ever they can! We still bought the subs without the drink but I don't think this fair to your loyal customers! Thank you!
A Similar thing just happened to me as well. The employee said that her boss told her to just not accept them anymore. Even though the coupon says valid through November 16th. Owners can just decide to not accept whatever coupons they want? Doesn't seem fair? Then on top of that she was not there or reachable to have her employee verify? She just lets her employees take the brunt of it with out them having any support? The employee told me her boss watches the cameras to make sure they don't accept them. I WAS a regular customer here (North County Fair mall in Escondido, CA) and someone who is a GSM in retail understands the importance of customer service and the frustration of communication that is contradicting and in this instance it I feel that she just didn't want to except a lower sale to get more money for the same purchase. There was no reasoning behind it nor was there another deal that might be comparable suggested. Well I hope that was worth the $6 since I will no longer be eating there. Along with the rest of my team who will not be eating here either. I'm held to a very high standard of customer service and I believe anyone is this industry should be as well. I do not agree with her decision to clearly make whatever rules up that she wants. They say "the customer is always right" and how in many incidents I would love to argue that saying in my everyday job, the saying is true. In the end your customers control how well you do as a store/company and your customer service will make sure you get there. Good thing there 2 other sandwhich shops on the mall. They have officially received my business instead.
I guess the only branch that accepts coupons is their moon branch. Just got a coupon from T-Mobile for free 6" chicken and got rejected at 2 stores. In both cases I decided to skip their sandwich and bought in another place as I don't like to pay scammers.
If the coupon didn't say 'at participating locations' only, or something along those lines, than it was almost certainly produced by a franchise owner that didn't know that the above line must be included in anything that includes the Subway brand name. I'd definitely call the [protected] hotline and let them know someone is distributing coupons that do not include the proper information.
We're told to accept any Subway coupons that come in so we don't alienate any customers, but as a manager I can say that I regularly remove old and unused discount codes in order to de-clutter our register because it decreases the amount of time it takes to ring someone out. I can't even recall the last time that coupon was distributed officially, it's been removed from my system for, at the absolute very least, 3 months (last time I purged old codes), probably much longer.
If the clerk didn't have the button to ring up the sale correctly for a coupon that the particular store was unaware of, there really isn't much they could have done. Coupons are required to always include that line for the sole purpose of avoiding situations such as this.
Subway restaurants are all franchises. They're not required to accept every coupon. Sorry.
when can we have climate controlled platforms
When can we have climate controlled platforms. Most other cities in the world do. I know the stations and routes are old but maybe we can divert some war money to improving our infrastructure.
pickles
I am an avid Subway customer and probably visit the chain 2 to 3 times a week, which is why I was frustrated when I had to fight with the employee over some extra pickles.
I went into the store and got my regular sub. I only get five of the numerous vegetables on my sub. I asked for lots of pickles and the girl proceeded to give me three. I asked for more and she gave me two more. She asked what else I would like on my sub and I asked for more pickles and sub sauce.
She proceeded to begin a two minute long rant about why she could not give me any more pickles. She actually refused to give me more pickles on my sub.
It was ridiculous, what is the world coming to that you can't get a couple mislay pickles on your sub. I will definitely NOT be visiting that subway again, I'll go to Mr. Sub.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I know this is an old post but LMAO. Is this for real? I mean seriously, a complaint because you couldn't get more pickles on your sub! First of all how many damn pickles do you need on your sub? disgusting. Secondly, the employee was merely doing her job. If she was advised by her manager/supervisor that she can only give a customer X amount of pickles, then you just need to accept that and move on. I get the impression that you like to complain about a lot of things that are minor or insignificant, and that you are completely self-absorbed. If you choose to go to Mr. Sub then that's your loss. Subway is much better than Mr. Sub. I just think its hilarious you choose to boycott a place because of pickles. Get a life.
So you are angry because the employee refused to "mislay" some pickles for you? Really? You asked her to violate her employer's policy for you and she refused. I doubt seriously that they will miss you at that location.
very rude manager at brannon crossing subway
Very rude manager at Brannon Crossing Subway in Nicholasville, KY. She kept insulting one of her employees last time I was in, calling her stupid. This lady is very rude and mean. I've seen many employees come and go because of her attitude. Please look into this lady. I knew who she was from her last job at a Shell in Lexington where she was let go while an investigation ensued about her stealing.
So why not write a letter to corporate headquarters? The one thing that is consistent on this site is people making it obvious that they are too stupid to handle issues with a company. Maybe posting here makes you feel better, but it does nothing to address the issue.
mistreated
I was misteated when it was my turn to be served, the food was served terribly and the woman refused to serve me again, and the woman who served me refused to give me her name but I took track of the time and date, and here it is 06-24-10 9:25pm. When I returned so that she could serve me again better this time, she told me they were closed and refused to serve me.
sandwich not made proper to eat
i went there so many times and even enjoyed my sandwich but once the owner changed the subway manager named Mr. Ajay...He is not a good manager as first, he dont know how to talk to the customer...he was very rude...insulted me...for telling him that he has not closed the sandwich properly and i was unable to eat the sandwich which he did not bothered to even close the sandwich, so i asked him to do so and he replied me...that he knows very well how to make the sandwich and i dont need to teach him...this was his reply and then he said if you want to make any complain he will give me the owner's number...he was a very bad guy with no sense how to talk to customers and instead he would make the business bad if der is a manger like him instead of doing goood or increasing the business...Worst Manager! I even recommend other people to avoid going to this subway ...
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Yea, sometimes if you get everything on your sub with extras, it's almost impossible to close the sub, you also trying to tell him how to do his job. I can see him getting angry.
not as healthy as you think
"at subway ® sandwich shops, we take pride in serving you a variety of products from manufacturers of the highest quality." this is the statement on the above website. but take a look at the ingredients. here are examples: 9-grain wheat bread has high fructose corn syrup in it. sourdough bread has high fructose corn syrup in it.in the cold cut combo, the turkey bologna has "mechanically separated turkey. whereas on most organic foods you will recognize most (if not all) of the ingredients, check out these that are in subway items:
Propylene glycol (egg-omelet-patty)
Sodium erythorbate (turkey-ham)
Sodium diacetate (black forest ham)
Sodium tripolyphosphate (seafood sensation)
Artificial color (cheddar cheese)
Yellow #5 (banana peppers)
Red #40 and blue #1 (red wine viniagrette)
Does this really sound healthy?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I love the way Subway brags about the low-fat chicken teriyaki. Sure it is low fat but it FULL of sugar(actually high fructose corn syrup) which is just as bad. When I worked at subway I didn't volunteer that information but when someone would ask me if the chicken teriyaki is healthy I would say no. And, no, I wasn't fired or even reprimanded for it.
Many of those are just preservatives or coloring. It is ignorant to think that something with a chemical name is BAD for you. For instance, chemically, water is called "dihydrogen oxide". Get yourself some education.
