I joined netflix on a 2 week "free" trial period. Before the two weeks were up I returned all dvd's and cancelled my membership online (Only because there was no phone number on the site to talk to a person to confirm that I would not be charged) I received confirmation that my membership was cancelled. I felt ok thinking there would be no charge to my credit card. After cancelling I had an emergancy for which I almost maxed my credit card out but I was still under my limit, I tell you this only to lead into the fact that on the very day that I cancelled the membership (3 days before it expired) netflix charged me $19.20 that I was not aware of or expecting. Since I did not know I was chareged for my "free" trial and used my credit card it sent me over the limit and I was charged another $29.00 for being over the limit. Netflix should not have charged me before my membership was up nor should they have charged me after cancelling my membership. Unable to find a phone number I emailed their customer service and am still waiting on a reply on how and when they are going to refund my money. I dont think its fair for them to make me wait on a response to a refund when they couldn't wait until the trial was up before they charged me. I would like people to know that a "two week free trial" ended up costing me $48.20. Beware if there is no way of contacting customer service.

Just lost a long time customer for your political activism and insensitive programming in the break special. Hope it was worth it!

I'm politically moderate, and even I found Michelle's Wolf salute to abortion to be offensively over the top. Abortion is a very serious subject. There are many ways to support abortion and women's rights issues as a comedian without blantantly hurting who hold deep moral views on the subject. This was not one of them.

I was traveling over seas in Paris, France & Rome Italy watching the series Orphan Black the entire time.

Now back home in Raleigh, NC the series is not available! This is really not fair. Netflix needs to fix this problem

It makes me so angry that the subtitles on Netflix DO NOT MATCH the actual spoken words. Pay me, I'll update them.

NETFLIX SUCKS it is that simple and the more of us who put it out there the faster they will go out of business. They have deceptive trade practices to say the least and and far as banks go you can inundate a person with so much paperwork. I have little use for either Netflix or banks for that matter. I am a memeber of a federal credit union who has always been forthcoming and straightforward.

I also had a mysterious charge from netflix on my account, I didn't even sign up with them. I'm very careful about who I give my credit card info to online, and I know that myself or my wife, never signed up for them. I suspect someone else online is selling your info or sharing your credit card info, I called the bank as soon as I saw the charge, it appeared as CC in my pending transactions. they blocked my card, and will refund any fees due to this

I just got charged after i canceled as well. During the cancellation there was a bunch of questions asking various things. One of them was something like will i recommend netflix to other people. I had originally chosen yes but now that i have been charged i absolutely despise it netflixs' tactics. I also recently canceled a blockbuster subscription and so far i have not been charged so if anything i now know what to recommend to other people.

@NotSpoliedAmerican

I am sorry but you are a dumb ###. You don't even know how to give a proper reply. Hey did you know acting like how you just did is a typical ignorant Spoiled American answer. Hey do you want to see the fine print NotSpoliedAmerican - (Free Trials

We encourage the use of our service through free trials. Free trials last for two weeks or as otherwise specifically stated for eligible members. To view the specific details regarding your free trial, if any, click on the "Your Account" link located at the top of every Netflix website page and click "Membership Terms and Details."

Free trials cannot be combined with any other offer. If you or another member of your household has been a Netflix member within the last 12 months, you are not eligible to receive a free trial. You must have Internet access and a valid credit card or debit card ("Payment Method") to redeem a free trial offer. Upon registering for your free trial, your Payment Method will be authorized for up to approximately one month of service. In some instances, your available balance or credit limit may be reduced to reflect the authorization; however, no charges will be made against the Payment Method unless you do not cancel prior to the end of your two-week free trial membership period.

We will begin billing your Payment Method for monthly membership fees corresponding to your membership plan plus any applicable tax at the end of your free trial membership period unless you cancel prior to the end of your free trial. To view the specific details of your membership plan, including price and end date of your free trial period, click the "Membership Terms and Details" link on the "Your Account" page. You will not receive a notice from us that your free trial membership has ended or that your paying membership has begun. YOU MUST CANCEL PRIOR TO THE END OF YOUR FREE TRIAL TO AVOID CHARGES TO YOUR PAYMENT METHOD. CLICK THE "YOUR ACCOUNT" LINK AT THE TOP OF ANY NETFLIX WEB PAGE FOR CANCELLATION INSTRUCTIONS. We will continue to bill your Payment Method on a monthly basis for your membership plan until you cancel. You may cancel your membership at anytime. We offer a number of membership plans, including special promotional plans or memberships with limitations on the number of movies rentable in a month. Some of these promotional memberships are offered by third parties in conjunction with the provision of their own products and services. We are not responsible for the products and services provided by such third parties. To view the details of your specific membership plan, click the "Membership Terms and Details" link on the "Your Account" page. We reserve the right to modify, terminate or otherwise amend our offered membership plans. Unless otherwise stated differently, month or monthly refers to your billing cycle)

So really they shouldn't have been charged at all and that is a violation of trust on Netflix's part.

P.S. It is spelled Spoiled not Spolied, Typical Spoiled American. *scoffs* Sounds like you and Netflix belong together. Oh yeah and the sole meaning of Trial in this situation is to try out with no strings attached ###. Trial - the act or an instance of trying or proving; test or experiment. No where in that definition do I see and get raped in the ### by money hording ###s in there, nor do I see any mention of monetary gain or loss.

First I would like to say it looks like the pro Netflix comments are done by the employees.
My experience with Netflix is one of fraud. Our daughter gave us a 4 month gift card for DVD's, which we used & sent back from Feb to May. WE HAVE NEVER HAD AN ACCOUNT with Netflix, but just discovered they have been charging us each month for June, July, Aug.Sept, Oct.& Nov. My husband takes care of our VISA bill & thought NETFLIX was something I ordered, so paid it faithfully until he decided to ask me what it was for. I called Nov.17 & 24 trying to straighten them out, but got nowhere. They gave me a cancellation # Nov.17th but still charged us. We have no idea how they got our VISA # & our daughter has no clue either. I suspected a scam & now this Website is proving so. We are turning them over to the BBB & our lawyer friend in DC who works for the Gov. This has got to stop.

Sounds like another whinny American. Nothing is free, you should always read the fine print, but that's besides the point. You maxed out your credit card, not netflix! People need to be accountable for their own actions, but that's not the American way now is it?

Ps It's sort of ironic how you worded your ambiguous complaint title, just like netflix did to their advertising. Sounds like you two belong together.

Netflix charges for the “Free Trial”. Period.
The wording on this “free” offer is so vague that many people continue to complain about this tactic.
If Netflix’s terms are so “clear”, then why are so many complaining about it?

DON’T TRY NETFLIX UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO SIGN UP!

Otherwise, you WILL BE CHARGED!

I ran into this little netflix staffu as well, but I did a little research. Just to let you know, there is a phone number you can call to talk to someone. It is on their web site, at the bottom, highlighted and says
"
Questions?
Call [protected]
M-F 9am-10pm ET
Sat-Sun 9am-5:30pm ET"

There is also a portion, in the user agreement, the one you acknowledge and agree to by pressing submit, that says

"Upon registering for your free trial, your Payment Method will be authorized for approximately one month of service. In some instances, your available balance or credit limit may reflect the authorization; however, no charges will be made against the Payment Method unless you do not cancel prior to the end of your two-week free trial period."

Call your bank. You should have gotten that back. Or call netflix when they open. Also, most banks will undo any charges caused by an unauthorized charge putting you into overdraft, or causing you an overdraft.

Hope that helps.
