JPMorgan Chase fraud

We fell behind in our auto loan with Chase. We tried to file for the Hardship program and was not accepted. I wanted to sell the auto and was told that it was written off and we had the auto repossessed one year ago. We received No documents from Chase on the repossession. Just a bill for $6500 on a $7500 loan and blue book value of $6500-$7500. When I disputed the bill with Pa State I found out that Chase clamed the auto was damaged and there was missing for two months from the time it was repoed. I did a search and the auto went to auction a few times..todate the auto is still in our name and I beleive that it is NOT our auto that went to auction that the VIN was switched on a clunker! Our auto was Not damaged and in good condition. I was advised to sue! This is Fraud! from a bank that took a $25, 000.00 Bailout of OUR Tax money!

JPMorgan Chase overdraft fees

I have several accounts with Chase. I noticed one night I was going to be overdrawn on my checking account so I transferred funds from 2 savings accounts to cover it. Both transactions showed that they went thru that night. I checked my account again the next morning but only one transaction showed. The other was still pending and I had $105 in overdraft fees on my checking. I contacted the customer service center and they refused to refund the fees or give me a straight answer about why only one transaction was showing that morning when both had showed processed the night before. This isn't the first time their "creative bookkeeping" has caused me fees. I have already opted out of their "courtesy overdraft protection" so that any charges beyond what I had in the bank would be declined so I wouldn't occur any fees. Instead, they hold debit transactions so if you check your balance thru the ATM, you still show money in the account. You have to check your account online to see a true balance. This is the only bank I have ever used that posts debits before they post credits. I plan on moving my accounts to another bank, any bank, as soon as possible. Chase's "business practices" are nothing but flagrant thievery.

I just closed my account with Chase NV because they we overcharging me overdraft fees for items already cleared.I was told today that Nevada has" A Law" that says to take the largest amount that posts That day then enter the smaller amounts. So I get charged 3 overdraft fees instead of one. I think this is an unethical and possible illegal practice. They are supposed to be working for their customers. I feel robbed.

JPMorgan Chase sure miss wamu

I had been a WAMU customer since 1997. I as were many was told that Chase would continue WAMU's practices until I learned the hard way differently. My first experience was unexpected NSF's showing up in my account. Come to find out... Chase employees out of the blue decided to place a hold on my payroll checks without letting me know. I always make my deposits at the ATM how would I have known? I have worked for my company for 10 years, never a problem. I understand in this economic climate how the banks could be nervous. However, the industry I work in is fortunately recession proof. So then I was told no overdraft protection. Great! With WAMU I had $1000.00 in overdraft protection. So I was encouraged to link my savings account to my checking for overdraft protection. Ok so I did. I then started seeing these credits every once in a while on my checking account. I thought, isn't this nice I wonder what rewards program I signed up for? Then one day I checked my savings statement, savings was almost depleted! The little credits I was seeing were transfers from my savings, however I wasn't overdrawn. Apparently they transfer and charge a fee of $10.00 on PENDING transactions! So I quickly canceled that! I played the float one weekend. I had several pending transactions on a Thursday of which my balance covered, these will usually clear by Monday night. I made a large purchase Sunday of which I did not have funds, I figured I would have until Wednesday night. I made a large deposit Tuesday morning and requested cash back and was told my account was negative and I could not have any cash.. ? Come to find out the large purchase cleared on Monday night, ok I gambled and lost so 1 NSF fee right? Wrong! Contrary to what I was told before, (Checks clear in the order of when they are presented, *see first experience) Chases policy is to clear the highest dollar items first stacking them to the smallest dollar items. So they are intentionally setting up their customers for NSF fees! (I would say that is predatory) What a way to bite the hand that feeds you! When speaking with customer service and supervisors I mentioned that a law was past that banks can no longer exercise these types of predatory business practices. Their reply is after March 2010 some policies will change. (So if your a customer hold on to your seat till the ride is over !) In the conversations with Chase representatives I am continuously told I have the right to close my accounts. *(Bet that's good for business!) I am now shopping the market for a friendlier common sense bank or credit union. So let me sum this up by saying $500.00 in fees in the last few months! In the entire time I was with Bank United then WAMU I have not paid out half that amount in fees in a 12 year period. (Bet Chase is proud of that!) Didn't the government give WAMU to Chase? Shouldn't we as tax payers receive a little better treatment than - after $500.00 in fees to be told "close your account"? (Bet they didn't disclose this to the government either!)

JPMorgan Chase awful, awful, awful

I received a letter from Chase, so I called the number. I ended up speaking with Kathryn (a mortgage consultant - a sales woman). She convinced me to refinance and had me give her my credit card number to apply. The same day, I was charged $750.00 on my credit card. When I discovered that the information was not the same as the flyer I received, and I just did refinance last year, I called to cancel the application. I spoke to Kathryn and her supervisor Angie, both saying I could not change my mind and $750 was non-refundable. Then called numerous times and left messages, never heard back. I think that this is a bait. I am a Chase customer, that makes this worse.

JPMorgan Chase refinance scam

Chase is running a refinance scam. They take your 750 dollar application fee, and in my case, lost all the paperwork, forcing me to get all the paperwork again, and I was borrowing 90, 000 against a co op worth 1.6 million and an extensive amount of liquid assets and after all of this I was denied, based on the tax return filed with my husband where he showed a loss. The refinancing would be in my name and the co op shares issued in my name. My monthly payments would be around 500 dollars. This is outrageous that I was denied.

JPMorgan Chase failure to acknowledge proven fraud

I purchased a painting that was represented (with full knowledge of fraud by seller) as original and done by an arts professor at Xian Academy of Fines Arts in China. Upon examination by an expert design professional, he quickly determined that the piece was not an original and was an inket print. Chase Visa first decided in my favor. The purchase took place on July 7th, 2017. I sent a protest in Sept. 09 after first calling them before August 17th (with a letter from the design professional) and Chase Visa sent a letter in my favor. Then, In January 2017 I recieve a letter (Dated December 17th, 2017 that my charge is reinstated. Upon protest, the specialist said becasuse he could not understand what the vendor said in his reply (the vender said clearly in a Chinese letter which I had translated) that the painting was original.
Since it is not original, the vendor also misrepresented the "art" to Chase. WHY SHOULD I BE CHARGED FOR A CONTRACT BASED ON FRAUD? FROM JULY to Jan. 2017 CHASE NEVER CONTACTED ME ABOUTT THE REVERSAL. IT IS VERY EASY TO FOLLOW THE PAOER TRAIL ON THIS ONE> AND THE CHASE "SPECILIST SAYS HE CAN'T SEE WHERE THE VENDOR REPRESENTS THE ART AS ORIGINAL IN HIS RESPONSE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS THERE IN HIS RESPONSE>! This needs action by CHASE UPPER MANAGEMENT. CHASE AGREES IN FEDERAL COURT TO ELIMINATE ARBITRATION, YET THEY SET RIDICULOUS ROADBLOCKS TO PROTECT A CUSTOMER THAT HAS BEEN A VICTEM OF FRAUD!

I have type 1 brittle diabetes and have been ill for over 3 months. I wrote my creditor a letter on March 8th with a good faith payment of $20. In my letter I explained my illness and lack of ability to work or pay until my Social Security application is approved. They have called my home up to 20 times per day for weeks now. My sister has taken their calls and explained the situation, again. My best friend has taken their calls and explained the same. Both were told that all I had to do was talk to them and the calls would cease. I received another call this morning. The agent told me I had to pay the full amount due over the phone. I explained that was not a possibility. The agent then said can you pay this amount by the 28th. I said yes, I could and would. She then told me I had to pay it earlier than what we had just agreed on. At that point I was getting ill from the stress of her harrassment. My best friend saw that I was becoming faint so he took the phone and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor would not talk to him and told him that we are not allowed to record the conversation. My friend told her that if that was the case she had no right to record either. I got back on the phone, explained my situation, again, she said the phone calls will not stop and all I can do is write a letter, which I have. So here is my question, how far can they go with their harrassment after I have promised to pay. Their harrassment raises my blood sugar in turn making my type 1 diabetes even harder to control.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Sincerely,
Shawna

I have been a customer with Chase since 1990. I had always paid my bills on time & fully. A few years ago, while still married, my husband & I both became unemployed. With no income, I used my credit card to pay for household expenses; I struggled to keep up, but missed a payment. At that time due to my missed payment, Chase began to increase my interest rate. I called to explain the financial situation I was in and requested that a reduction in interest be made, Chase refused. I paid over $3, 000 in a year’s time, but due to the interest rate, the principal balance barely decreased, the payments went to interest charges. I again called Chase, was told my only option was to close the account, the APR was 0% and monthly payments were arranged for 5 years, as my husband & I had found jobs, this was financially feasible. In March of 2017, my husband left, moved out & started divorce proceedings. I continued to keep up the payments. Then, on January 20, 2017, I was laid off. I called Chase & explained that I was unemployed and that there was no second income due to divorce. I requested that my payments be decreased; I was told by Chase that since I was on a payment plan, I was not eligible for any other payment plans. I told Chase that I could pay $100.00 per month & that when I found employment, I would increase my payments & eventually catch up. I was denied. I was told by Chase that it did me no good to make a partial payment & in fact to stop paying as I would possibly then be eligible for another payment plan.
On my last conversation with Chase, I was given 3 options: 1) referred to a credit-counseling agency, I told Chase that I did not need that, as all my bills were up to date except for the Chase visa credit card. 2) If I wished to pay off the balance, it would be 90% or $8, 000+ again, being unemployed, I do not have that kind of money. 3) I was told my account would be turned over to a collection agency; please tell me how that is going to help this situation. And, lastly, after I told the agent @ Chase I could not afford the $252.00 payment, I was asked if I could pay $262.00 per month. Really, is that a reasonable solution?

In summary, I have repeatedly asked Chase Visa to work with me to pay my account, if the interest rate had not been jacked up so high, I might have been able to avoid the closure of this account. Due to the lack of any kind of working with me in the last 2 conversations I have had with Chase, I am writing this email as a last resort that someone will finally understand how unyielding and closed Chase is to working with their clients. Perhaps in writing, someone @ Chase Visa will “get it” and come up with a solution. ALTHOUGH THIS IS AN UNSECURED DEBT & A CLOSED ACCOUNT I HAD CONTUNED TO MAKE PAYMENTS WHEN I WAS FINANCIALLY ABLE. CHASE HAS REFUSED TO WORK WITH ME IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. IN ADDITION, I INTEND TO GO PUBLIC WITH THIS CASE.

Beware of how long it takes for Chase to post your payment. I mail my check out 10 days in advance. It has never been late but once I used a convenience check with a low interest rate, my check all of sudden did not get posted till the day after the due date. I was charged a $39 fee and my interest rate was raised from 3.99% to 9.99% which makes a big difference on a balance of $4, 000. I have had this account for 5 years and never had a problem till they offered me the low rate. Needless to say, I am paying off this account this week and will never do business with them again. There is no reason a check should take 11 days to clear and there is no proof as to when they get it in their office. You are at there mercy.

We earned 50.000 miles of credit on our Chase rewards card, paid the annual fee and then they cancelled our card a month later explaining that we also lost the miles when they cancelled us. We checked our credit report and it was excellent. Does anyone know how I can get this resolved?

On Aug 22, 2017, I attempted to redeem my travel points online for travel to Raleigh, NC for myself & my husband. The site accepted my itinerary using 25.000 points for myself. It said that each individual needed to be boked separately. When I attempted to book my husband on the same flight it kept giving me different flights. I called the 1-800 number and was told that this flight is booked---there was only 1 seat left. After explaining to SEVERAL representatives on the phone what happened, I was told by Tina (a supervisor) that she cancelled my flight and I would receive my 25, 000 points on my statement within 5-7 days. Needless to say it was never done even though she gave me a cancellation number. I called on Sept 9th & was told by a gentleman that he would email the travel dept and it would be taken care of. On Sept 21st I received a letter stating that "Chase valued me as a cardmember since 1980, and I needed to call to verify the cancellation and my 25, 000 points would be added back to my balance." After being transferred to numerous different departments and speaking to 5 differnet people, my problem was not fixed. I recommend that no one uses Chase. With excellent credit, I do not need to be lied to like I was by Chase. I plan to use my points and cancel my card.

It is unfortunate but credit cards are not sympathetic to anyone who is unable to make their payments. They are in the business of making money and they don't care what your personal situation is. It's not just Chase it's all credit card companies. I ended up having to declare bankruptcy after I was in a similar financial crisis and couldn't even cover the minimum payments on my credit cards. I was so desperate that I had to borrow money for groceries from family members. Your only option is to transfer your balance to another credit card, take a personal loan from a bank or make the payments that Chase is asking for. If you've missed payments and/or have bad credit your options may be limited. Have you considered couponing or donating plasma for extra income?

Cancel your phone. They will continue to harass you until the end of time. If you can pay, go ahead and do so. If this is a credit card, you will continue to accumulate interest expense until you pay off your balance. If you do pay, make sure that you pay by check, so you have a record of it. Once they call, tell them you are recording the conversation. You have the legal right to record any conversation as long as you notice the other party or have a electronic 'beep' sound every few seconds. They naturally dont want you to record the lies that they are telling you. They dont want any record of any agreement. Once you start recording, they will hang up. Another option. See if a friend or family member will front you the money and pay them back instead over time.

JPMorgan Chase nsf fees

Woooowwww! Had a washington mutual account, and when we found out that they were "acquired" by chase, we asked around, and were told that even though chase was taking over, all of the privileges that we had with wamu would stay the same. Yeah right. Wamu used to have real overdraft protection, and would notify you days in advance for pending overdrafts so that you could deposit necessary funds into the account. Today, saturday the 6th, at 4:34 a. M. We received an e-mail from chase, saying that our account was overdrawn, so I headed over to the branch and deposited in a check that was more than sufficient to cover everything. I get to the bank, and there was a negative $397.00 in the account. Scratched my head, and asked what it was for, and they let me know that there was $99.00 in overdraft fees. Make a long story short, I came back home, saw when everything was sent, and called customer service (What an oxymoron) and let them know what transpired. The clerk stated that they would reverse the funds, cool, no problem. 15 minutes later, they has only credited $66.00 of the $99.00 that was taken out, so I called back. They stated that they should not have even given any of the money back, and that I was lucky to get what I got. They also stated that even if they thought that I was right, they only give $77.00 a month back in fees, even if it is their mess up. Told them if they do not give the remaining $33.00 back, that I would close the account, and they replied "do what you have to do" and that was a lead supervisor. Mind you, I have a cc account, checking account, savings account and a business checking account with this company, and they just lost a customer over a lousy $33.00 hmmpphhh, what nerve.

I would just like to say I take full responsiabilty to my banking errors howevr Chase has found a way to get whatever they can out of you. They tell you things are processed by dollar amount first in a certain catagory example Debits and Atm withdrawls before checks but I have proof that they process any way they can to get you to have more NSF fees...What they are doing should be against the law

Late Fee:
The last 10 years I have had a mortgage loan, a credit card, a saving and checking account with WAMU and I r:eally enjoyed their customer service until Chase took over. I always paid my credit card balance in full every month. For some reason I did not get my Feb 2010 statement and Chase hit me with a $30 late fee. I called and told them I never got the statement and if you check my account I have never been late the last 10 years and since this is my first time I am requesting that you reverse the $30 late fee charge
I told her since I have been a loyal customer in good standing for the last 10 years and have paid you (WAMU and Chase) approximately $90, 000 in interest on my mortgage loan and let’s assume I was late with one stinking credit card payment one time, are you sure you want to lose a long standing customer over such a minor issue? She did not give a damn and was VERY rude. I asked if I could talk to a manager, she responded NO and she said “I am the ultimate decision maker and this is our policy and if you do not pay the late fee will charge you another late fee plus interest”.
I told her it is my policy not to do business with idiots and did the only thing I could do.
I got in my car and went to the local Chase branch, closed my credit card, saving and checking accounts, and got a payoff estimate for my mortgage loan and went to my credit union and had them to wire the payoff amount the same day.
These people do not have a clue about customer service.

JPMorgan Chase nsf charges

Chase has this rule that we don't have any say so on. If more than one check hits the bank on the same day, they clear the largest first. That means they can clear the big check and bounce many smaller ones. Ok, that is fine but then they purposely arrange them to make that senario happen. I recently had them list 2 small charges at Jack and the Box, and a store as pending for 2 days. The 3rd day a charge for gas was listed (ahead of the small checks). I had deposited cash to make sure the others cleard and my balance was still positive. Of course then they were able to charge me $140 is NSF fees. They won't do anything for you if you have had any NSF charges waived. I am curious to what their NSF revenues are annually. It must be HUGE! I know it doesn't cost them $35 to process a NSF.

JPMorgan Chase denied convenience check

Chase refused to cover its convenience check for $5k on an open 10.5k credit line and then notified it was closing account. Usual credit reasons. No history of late pays, etc. Great pay record history with Chase. I will bring suit for character defamation with my credit union. I have over $1 million in savings, plus $160k in w-2 annual income.

JPMorgan Chase making home affordable loan modification program

Back on July 21, 2009 my husband and I were offered a home mortgage modification loan through our mortgage company CHASE Finance. This is the 2009 Obama Mortgage Relief Plan that is suppose to help homeowner's get their interest rates and payments lowered to a more affordable amount. Well my husband and I are beginning o think that the whole thing is a scam. No way is President Obama aware of what these banks are doing to their customers with this program. After three trial period payments they are suppose to lower your interest rate and payment. It's been over seven months, we have made 4 payments, we have never received any proposal with new interest rates and new payments, we have had to send 4 sets of paperwork (including hardship letters and pay stubs), we have had to sign or initial a 4506-T tax card every month, we are receiving our monthly mortgage statements showing us 8, 000 in arrears with hundreds of dollars in late fees, we do not have a single piece of paperwork showing the payments they auto debited from our account for the trial period which amounts to 5838.80, we have not received one call from them updating us on the status, when you call them you speak to someone different each time and are never given the same information, we have received 2 sets of papers saying we were in foreclosure only to be told when we called that the papers were mailed in error, we have been rudely talked to, we found out by calling Fannie Mae in Washington directly that the application has never even been finalized and sent to them for review. What are we suppose to do? They are destroying our credit...the stress has been unbearable...we have spent hours on the phone and typing complaint letters and most recently wrote to our state Congress. This is such a disgrace. We had never been late, we had good credit with them, we just wanted what we were entitled to. CHASE ought to be ashamed of what they are doing, but they don't care. And through all this mess, I had a brain tumor (benign thank god) removed last May. We are so discouraged. If there's anyone that has been through this and can help we would truly appreciate it

I have had the same experience with chase as far as modification except Aug.2, 2011 they sold my house on the courthouse steps and I didn't know anything about it until the 15th when realtors came by taking pictures and told my daughter Fannie Mae owned the house now. First we had 10 days to let the realtors know our intentions.The 22nd we got a vacate the premises letter.Now they will sale it to me for 25, 000 more than my original note. So good Luck, somebody needs to be able to stop them

Everyone who has posted, this is the number to the white house comment line: [protected]. Read your post and then call your congressmen. Then call your state officials. Then call the local government reps. My family is in the same position, but telling each other will not attract the proper attention to solve the problem in time to keep our homes. If we all unite in this fashion, the legislators that COULD make this illegal and enforce the proper regulations on them will have no excuse! Lets do it!

Same here for me...we have been trying to do the Home Mod since March 2009. Now our credit is ruined and we are about to lose the house. I filed BBB complaints, TN Consumer Credit complaint, I worked with Congressman Jim Cooper's office and nothing worked. They are stealing our house and not one Govt. agency is stepping up to protect us from these predators. That's a fact!

Same story as everyone else but we were approved. So we sent in those trial payments, got a congrat's letter and read through the paperwork. There is a strange little phrase very difficult to read in the middle of a paragraph that has nothing to do with interest that basically says: If you ever sell your home or want to pay off sooner you have to pay the total amount of interest that would have accumulated throughout the term of the mortgage. Well... our home is worth 80, 000, our principal is 154, 000 our new so called modification says that we must pay 436, 000 to pay off the loan. So when i am 70 the house might be paid for, no one in their right mind would buy our house for that much, nor could we ever hope to better ourselves and buy a bigger home in the future. THIS PLAN KEEPS PEOPLE TRAPPED IN THEIR HOMES! Great if you never plan on moving, having a bigger family or mind paying for the rest of your life. We would like to have at least had the option to pay off our mortgage early at some point or sell, but now we can't . Foreclosure here we come.

After the first time we were removed from the program, (with no warning) for an unsigned doc. we entered another program. We explained our nightmare situation to Kevin Denicoloa from chase. He Said that was a mistake on Chase's end and that we should have had a chance to sign the doc. before being removed from program, and put in foreclosure. He promised that this time around it would go different. He said that he would be in charge of our case file and if there were anything missing he would call us personally before we were removed. Kevin gave us his personal line to reach him, and we felt a little more comfortable about the chaotic process. Kevin asked my wife to send in pay stubs, she informed him that she is no longer employed, and therefor has no pay stubs. He said no problem let me update your file. Two weeks later we were once again removed from the program, and tolod we were going to lose our home. WHAT! what happened to Kevin letting us know before we were dropped? or Updating the file like he said he would. We were dropped because no pay stubs were sent, when Kevin clearly said don't worry you don't have any, therefor you don't need to send them.
SHAME ON YOU CHASE!
Creating a trial period reduction, that has no intention of ever getting written into a new loan. Then when you go to collect 9 months of under payed back mortgages, People don't have that money, it has been spent. You have created a program, That will cause people to lose their homes, and spend countless hours of paperwork and stress, rather than give any assistance. Despite all the taxpayer bailout money thrown your way, You guys continue to Scam the American People. It is very interesting how unorganized and hectic the modification program is, but when it comes to collecting money, Chase is Methodical, Organized and on top of you every day.

Same story here, accept I've been dealing with Chase on a Re-Modification since September 2008! YES OVER 2 Years... I have sent so much duplicate information to them, and received so much garbage from them, I've had it... to only hear weeks later, they need more information, and in 30 days they will have an ansywer for me. If anyone knows of an attorney, please send them my way. I'm burnt out, and ready to throw in the towel and start looking for a new place to live!

Wow this is the same thing I am dealing with. We have jumped thru every hoop, sent in forms 4 times, and they keep finding new things to stop the process. Not only are they not participating in a government program established to help the people they ripped off in the first place, but they are using the trial period as a scam to kick you off the program, then retroactively charge you interest/late fees on the "insufficiant" revised payments, and act as if you were late on all those payments they had lowered. This sort of scam is inexcusable, and after all that the banks did to get the entire country in this jam in the first place, you would think there would be a little bit of govt. oversight on these sorts programs. I would honestly be current on my mortgage, if I hadn't gone into this program that reduces your payment, then takes it away 6 months later and charges me late fees as if that whole time I hadn't been paying enough. even though I was paying the amount on the statement. This should be illegal

Chase bank is not cooperating with us we have been going through this since 2009 we wrote to chase, we wrote to congressman rush holt, we have endured all the same things we see on this website and i am sick over this, we have been lied to by everyone in this bank, from day 1. we emailed ceo jamie dimon several times only to get pushed onto someone who says they need more documentation and then they dissappear and the next person says they are no longer with the company and can you send more documents. i have send at LEAST 3oo pages of bank statements, 4506t forms hardship aftadavits, etc etc etc even went to NACA who contacted chase back in may of 2010 and chase has never responded talk about a runaround we also sent in 6 months payments trial then said we were denied and after congressman rush holts office talked to them they said they would look into it again, that was in april 2010 still sending in papers, does it really take 2 years or better to tell somone you can lower their interest from 8.9 to something reasonable or to modify their currant payment to help them out or is it a scam to put them totally into more debt they can never repay and just take the home away ?

JPMorgan Chase failure to give airline mileage

I have a Chase Mastercard with partner Continental Airlines (One Pass). On the One Pass monthly statement, it encourages users to use certain web vendors to get extra mileage. For instance, it says to use Sears.com to get 5 miles for every $1 spent. I generally do not use Sears.com but figured I would do it with this card so I could get extra miles. I ordered an appliance (about $300) from Sears.com and should have gotten about 1500 miles. But in actuality, the product was not sent from Sears but instead from one of its "partners". The bill showed up on my Chase card as the "partner" and I was denied the 5 miles for each dollar... I was given only 1 mile per dollar. That is a scam. If Sears.com advertises a product and it is ordered on that site, then the billing should be correct and mileage credit should be given. I do not know (and frankly I do not care) whose fault this is... Sears, Chase or Continental... but some one should do the right thing and honor the promise and agreement that was made when they said use Sears.com and get 5 miles for every $1.

What is the scam?

Do you know the definition of the word "scam?"

Did you click through from your credit card's Web site to sears.com when you made the purchase? Or did you go directly to the sears.com Web site.

With some offers such as the one you described, you have to click from the originating Web site (your credit card company) to the other site (sears.com) in order to receive the special deal.

JPMorgan Chase keyed my payment in wrong twice in 5 days

In June of 2006 I financed my home with Washington Mutual. That bank was taken over by Chase Bank. Chase took control of my mortgage. I was on an excelerated equity program. I had to change banks due to issues with my acct. I had to cancel the excelerated equity program for a time. I have had it since the beginning of my mortgage. Never late, ever until November of 2009 due to extreme illness.

I tried to remedy the late payment early in Dec. 09. Made a payment over the phone. Thought I was good to go. Days later I discovered the money was still in my acct. I called again and spoke to, what I have discovered is an outsourced CSR from another country who has no authority at all other than to take payments and tell you what you already know. The first one couldn't speak good English and the 2nd one was worse. She told me that the first payment was reversed for insufficient funds. I told her that was impossible and I could prove that I had never been overdrawn or had insufficient funds ever at my bank. She said okay and forwarded me to another CSR that put me through every identifying process, again, except asking for a blood draw. That one assured me no fees would incur due to it being a bank error in processing. She took another payment from me.

Days later I discovered that my payment still had not come out of my acct. I called and called and was hung up on, called again and got so frustrated I waited a day or so and called again to find one foreign CSR with the intelligence to research what happened. She too spoke broken English but was more efficient. The problem there is, she had no authority. She ended up breaking the Patriot Act giving me routing and acct numbers of the two customers who were hit with my payments. One bounced, the other cleared. Of course those two customers filed disputes, closed their accts. which is what I would have done.

Finally this CSR put me on hold and sent me to another, more English literate, CSR, who still had no power to do anything but apologize and get someone higher to help me. That supervisor, only after I said I didn't want to end up owing 3 payments at once due to bank error, had me make one payment to keep me from going into default. She told me to wait it out on another payment until this situation played itself out. I was told I would be notified, which didn't happen. I started to get worried so I wired another payment. I called Chase once again for probably the 20th time and the gentleman gave me the wrong city code, so I used the only one that Money Gram has for Chase Mortgage on their records. To date that payment isn't showing.

I called Chase 3 or 4 times again today and only get outsourced foreign CSRs and the last one had an attitude. Tried to blame me when the bank has already admitted their own error. I was told by one of the 20 I have spoken to that due to an escrow issue my payment is going up to over 80.00 more per month. To top that off, one American CSR had the nerve to tell me to wait and see because if the payment that cleared came from someone rich that they might not miss the money and I might not have to pay that payment. That is insane. No stays rich not keeping a close watch on their money. I told him that would devastate me if someone elses house payment came out of my account.

I still owe for this month because I was told to wait and I can't afford two payments at once. I would have had this remedied back in December if their people had keyed my acct number in correctly. I will another phone payment due to that happening twice in 5 days. I wired this payment and still it isn't showing. Someone help me. Too, I was promised no late fees would incur and that is a total lie. The thing is, I was given bad advice by a bank representative and those fees add up. I have not been notified of a correction and that is why I took it on myself to make another payment. They have already sent out a field inspector and this woman is more angry than ever. This bank is horrible. You can't get to anyone high enough to make a difference. You can't call and get results because you have outsourced people who are only there to say they are sorry and to collect a debt. This bank needs to revamp and have American based CSRs with some brains and authority to repair bank errors. I didn't finance with this bank. I financed with WAMU and though they messed up and had to sell out to Chase, they, at least had CSRs based in this country who could help you and would remedy their own errors.

I have never dealt with more unprofessional people in my life. I really need help here if anyone has information on how to get this fixed other than them taking extra money on top of my normal payments. Thank you.

Cordially,
Carol A Horton [protected]

JPMorgan Chase stay away

Despite record profits and a federal bailout, our nations' banks still aren't helping consumers prevent default and foreclosure. They're still forcing some of us to sit on these time-bomb adjustable-rate mortgages, despite an ability and willingness to pay more and refinance up to a 30-year conforming loan.

I've been trying to refinance a mortgage, a no-doc, 7/1 interest-only ARM at 5.375 percent, from Chase, which readjusts in August 2012. I'm trying lock in a 30-year fixed-rate conforming loan that ensures I'm able to keep the property until it's paid. I'd rather do this now instead of wait until 2012 when rates may be higher. Current monthly payments are at $2, 248.

Due to falling home values, however, a large part of the 20-percent equity I initially put down has been erased. Whereas the home was originally appraised at $580, 000 in 2005, the Chase blanket-appraised value is now $495, 000. In 2005, I put down $116, 000, financed the remaining $464, 000 and that balance now stands at $461, 789, leaving just $35, 211 in equity remaining. However, I believe that a full appraisal will determine that my Redondo Beach, Calif., property in fact is worth substantially more. But a Chase mortgage counselor, Josh, informed me on 22 January 2010 that I'm not 'streamline eligible.'

Though I'm experiencing no crisis, I consulted with an independent mortgage-crisis counselor to explore what I might do to improve my ability to qualify. They informed me that my chances are nil - unless I want an FHA loan with PMI, which I don't, or unless I experience a crisis (missed payments, default, possible foreclosure, etc.), which compels the bank to take some action. I don't care for that option either. I'm not looking for a rescue.

Why is a responsible and sophisticated financial consumer, such as me, forced to choose between those two equally undesirable options? Unlike many these days, my finances are in decent shape. I asked Chase to consider my:

- Good credit: my FICO score is in the 790-800 range;

- Timely repayment history: I haven't missed or been late on a payment to any creditor in many years.

- Property improvements: we made substantial upgrades to the residence. Additionally, our HOA invested nearly half a million dollars in improvements to the complex;

- Equity: we're not underwater. In fact, property values in my neighborhood are stabilizing;

- Higher income: my income today is roughly $20, 000 more than it was in 2005;

- Greater personal savings: despite the financial crisis of 2007 2009, my retirement accounts all have higher balances than in 2005;

- Lower credit balances; again, despite the crisis, I've paid down my balances. All my credit balances trend downward historically;

- Financial savvy: as a successful, independent, institutional asset-management marketing consultant, I treat my assets and liabilities as an institution might. I've been a long-term consultant with a leading financial firm since 2001 and this gives me access to large amounts of sophisticated and forward-looking financial insight, which I put to use in my personal life;

- Income property: I also have a tenant who covers the mortgage on a second property in Hermosa Beach, Calif., which is due to be paid off in nine years. This provides tax benefits, but unfortunately impacts me negatively on my mortgage application.

I'm certain I represent extremely favorable credit risk to any bank that works with me to refinance this loan. Further, it would enable Chase to remove a risky, 7/1 interest-only ARM from its books and replace the loan with a safer 30-year fixed-rate loan to an AAA-type borrower with the capacity and intention of repaying the obligation - which might look good to regulators. If Chase offered me a rate at or near 5 percent, without PMI, it would increase my current monthly payment amount by only a few hundred dollars, which is very manageable.

Chase Home Finance has denied my refinance application and basically is penalizing me for being a proactive borrower who's working to prevent a potential future problem with my home. They're forcing me to roll the dice in 2012 and hope that I can refinance or sell by then. Apparently, no one at the bank has the foresight or the authority to look more closely at my unique circumstances, do some community banking, make a sensible move, and offer me a refinance. As a result, I have to continue sitting on this 'time bomb' of a mortgage.

As a consumer, evidently all I can do is complain loudly and often.

JPMorgan Chase bad service

There's a very good reason the large banking companies are in hot water. They deserve tighter regulation and punitive measures. I'm enraged with Chase, our home-mortgage co. A notice appeared on our January statement informing us that we had purchased an "optional product" that we had NOT purchased. It directed us to call if we had any questions about the $9.99/month charge. I called -- several times. Of course, nobody answered after 5 p.m. or on weekends, and I was placed on hold for what seemed like forever listening to awful music, then giving up in the interest of my time. I finally got through this morning only to learn that the product we had not purchased but were being charged for was emergency-road service. WHAT THE HELL?! This was on our mortgage statement?! It's an opt-out thing people. Examine your statements closely. If you don't opt out, you're automatically getting charged whether you want/need it or not. I called Chase to tell officials there how angry I was that they allowed this to be placed on our mortgage statement. Well, you know how it went: Call, punch in numbers, listen to more skin-crawling music. Finally, after interminable waits, I got three different "customer-care" representatives who simply would NOT listen to me, but just kept reading from their script. I told each one -- Trish, Sherry, Arneeka -- that I didn't want to dump on them but someone who is paid much more to listen to an angry customer. They just kept reading from their scripts asking me questions about my account that were totally irrelevant to the purpose of my call: To complain to a manager about how I felt betrayed and screwed by Chase. Finally, I loudly told one of the women that I didn't want to answer any more of her questions and demanded that she puh-leeze transfer me to a manager. Well, 10 minutes later, after she came back three times to apologize for my wait but she was still looking for a manager to take my complaint, I told her enough. I had wasted my entire morning between the call to the road-service company that got prominent space on my mortgage statement, and various low-level "customer-care" reps who wouldn't listen and could not talk except from a script, and I still could NEVER speak to a manager. Yes, I'm mad as hell. When I complete this message, I'm going to search other public sites where I can post my grievance about Chase, its awful customer service, its willingness to sell customer accounts to road-service companies with only opt-out provisions, its eagerness to screw its customers every and any way it can. Then I'm going to write each member of my Congressional delegation telling them to protect us from this type of predatory behavior. I caution current customers or those searching for a mortgage-loan company: BEWARE! Stay away from Chase. You'll be very sorry if you enter into a business relationship with this monstrous, blood-sucking company.

The judge has not decided whether the complaint may go forth. However, ashland filed a motion using the caption of the first complaint that was dismissed. They then made an argument in their motion and made it appear that we were "at issue" using terminology and issue arguments. These documents have become part of the public record and are then filed within the docket system as if an order was issued by the judge. I am a realtor and have been trying to execute a short sale on behalf of my client. He can't get Chase to respond to him, and I can't either. We have submitted the contract offer ( a good one) the sample HUD, financials, etc. etc. and all of it goes ito the black hole. What is wrong with these people? Don't they want to get foreclosures and short sales off their books? Who's running this circus? It has been six weeks without a word - not even an acknowledgement. This is no way to run a business. Especially one that needed government funds to get bailed out. At least the previous complainer got someone to listen- I can't even get them to respond and all their answering devices are full and can take no more messages. i have been sending repeated faxes into the black hole as well. Grrrr! I'm going to start looking for the upper management of Chase. Anyone know where they are located? Who is the Pres? Lynne Shirley, Realtor

JPMorgan Chase - Denied fraud claim

My debit card was stolen and over $850 was withdrawn from my account in several unauthorized transactions. I reported the fraudulent activity the next day after receiving a call from the "fraud prevention" department. I filed a claim a few days later after the charges cleared - the first person I spoke with at the claims department implied it would be a...

JPMorgan Chase loss draft funds

I had filed loss draft claim with Chase in October for damages to my roof and bathroom and bedroom ceilings. I sent in all the necessary paperwork they say was required for the process:adjustor's report, mortgagee affidavit, contractor's estimates, and waiver of lien form from the contractor and a tax form from contractor. I received the first part of my installment to get materials for work to be done. I found a contractor, he did the repairs. Called the inspector to come and inspect the job. He did and submitted his report back to Chase. Everything was approved they said, but everytime i call to see when they will release the remainder of the funds, they keep telling me 3 to five business days. I called again and again, they told me the check was mailed on the 11th of January. Today is the16th, so where are my funds? It's been 5 business days. I have people that i have to pay and they keep calling me to see when they will get their money. So what's the problem? Where is my money Chase Loss Draft Dept?

I agree with what you all say, but if you can't write a complete sentence and have to refer to God to state your case, maybe you should just stick to sitting at the altar or in the pew reading your scriptures on your phone and not engage in intellectual conversation where you offer no solution or advice. Lazy Ridge, you sound like a mumbling ### and if Chase President did read this, I don't think that he'd be too worried about your thoughts or concerns.

for it does no good to send in complaints...not a dam thing is beign done. i do not understand how the banks or whoever the hell is in charge let banks do consumer, homeowners like they do. chase loss draft tells more lies, than lies itself. they are not there to help anyone. they lie about paper work that homeowners turn in, how long it takes for homeowner to get funds to repair home. the president of chase is a sorry piece of president. but you know that is o.k cause when his day come to meet the man above or below he will have to answer. i hope and pray you have a good answer for what you are doing. why can't we as homeowner just let us repair our home and move on..as we all know we cannot take anything with us when we leave so i know my GOD is taking care of me and others. you will pay Mr. Chase President, you will pay and you will recall all the names of homeowners that you did not give a dam about and there will be no pity for you. Mr. Obama, you need to look at these big so call (bamas) President who in the banking business and see how they are not doing there jobs. of course they are getting paid big bucks to not help homeowners. I cannot say anything good about Chase Bank or Chase Loss draft department.. i just want to be left the hell alone and pay my mortgage and enjoy what time I have left on this earth without all this bull ###.

I am having to deal with Chase because I had water damage to my house and every check that they sent me was received at least one full week after they supposedly sent it out. In addition they have lost one of my checks and when I called upset about it, they are not only not very concerned about it, but I actually have one of their "supervisors" come back on the line laughing at me when I tried to call and have the situation fixed. This company is very unprofessional and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone for any reason!

JPMorgan Chase behind by how many payments?

Chase bought my mortgage June 11, 2008. I Make 1/2 a payment every other Friday (which gives me an extra payment every year) and have done this since the beginning. In June 2009 I get a phone call from the "collections dept" claiming that I am 2 payments behind. I explain to him about sending 2 pmnts per mo, etc. But he can't transfer me to someone that can help me, I have call another number. They tell me that I am 1 payment behind. They need 6 months of bank statements showing my payments. I print out 6 months of online statements cross out everything that doesn't pertain to Chase and fax it. DENIED! Not good enough. They want 6 months of unaltered bank statements...unaltered? Any other transactions or businesses that I do is none of Chase's business. So, I have my bank pull of my Chase payments and put it on bank letterhead and I fax it to them. Still not good enough. Now thay say I have 1/2 payment that was an NSF in January and another one in April, so now they only need "complete unaltered bank statements" for January and for April. So I finally actually talk to a person in the escalated payment dispute dept named Andrea. She says the issue with the last fax is that there is no running balance on the list of payments that my bank put together. Fine I'll have the bank fix it and refax it. I pull out the last fax that I sent to Chase and she is nothingbut a liar. Right next to each pmnt debited from my account is the balance! By now it's Dec 14th and I refax the same print out from my bank and draw an arrow to the balance column column, also noting that she said it didn't exist. I waited 2 weeks and called a few times and leave messages for Andrea to call me back. Never heard a word. About a week ago I'm doing some outdoor chores and see someone taking pictures of my house. Then last night (Jan 14, 2010) some women knocks on my front doornand hands me 3 pieces of papers clipped to an envelope and informs me that Chase has contracted with them because they have been trying everyway they can to contact me with no luck. WOW! Really? So I immediately call them (again) and of course they are closed. So I call the next day, and get transferred to "collections" (Chantelle) who tranfers me to "customer service" (Rigel) who tries to research what is going on with the payments afer I explain about the person knocking on my door and my faxes to Andrea. She then figures out that Andrea closed my dispute the day after I faxed it to her noting that I had faxed her an ALTERED bank statement. The catch is she isn't the one that is handling my sipute now, it's Angela who happens to be on vacation. go figure., i have to call back on Monday.
So I'm explaining the last 2 weeks happening to my mother, who also had her mortgage purchased by Chase about 3 or 4 months ago and just happens to be going through almost the exact same thing. Coincidence? I think not. I decide to follow mom's advice and stop in at the local Chase branch to ask for some personal assistance, maybe they can look through my statements and cross out what they don't need and fax it for me?
I do just that. The man helping me calls someone in the mortgage dept and asks that he send him via email my complete payment history and break down of alll the figures for escrow, P & I, etc. He then informs me that there was no nsf in January or April. There was an NSF in July 2008 and I have been behind ever since and each month they also charge me 5% of my payment as a late fee which they have been taking out of my regular payment, which of course makes my payment short, and later, etc. He also informs me that my payment amount is 1905.50 each month. Not according to my documents, my payment amount is 1901.00. He then proceeds to informme that part of my payment has $110 in PMI on it. there was no PMI on our loan when we closed on it...I remember that for sure because I was so excited about it! So in the end I'm told I need to pay a total of almost $4k. By this time I'm sitting at this guys huge mohogany desk balling my eyes out, totally confused and not knowing who to believe. He then refers me to his manager to help figure out how to resolve this matter as soon as possible. She then proceeds to question why I was reviewing my mortgage statements closer, uh ya I already know that my statesments were going to be wrong for the last 7 months because I was still fighting with them over the 1 payment. I cam to solve one problem and found out that I was fighting about a problem that didn't even exist. I think...I'm suppose to call the manager of the local branch back on Tuesday to see if she is able to help me figure someway out of this nightmare.
Meanwhile, my credit report is showing 90 days late even though I have sent in my payments every other Friday like clockwork and had even raised my payment amount by $50 every other Friday. So you'd think I would be a couple months ahead...not.

We bought our home 10 years ago using Washington Mutual. Since then Chase Mortgage has taken over the loan. Origanally our loan was a FIXED RATE 30 loan at 5.8%. Somehow Chase Mortgage has change our mortgage to a ADJUSTABLE RATE MORTGAGE without our knowledge or permission. I know two other people they have done this to. One person has been a Mortgage Broker for over 15 years. They told my wife and I we had signed an Amendment changing the note but CANNOT produce a copy of this Amendment. Now we are going through the expensive process of refinancing our home. I will NEVER do any business with any of the 3 BIG BANKS in the future. Be smart bank with a Credit Union.
