If you think the insurance that you have on your Cricket phone is worth the monthly fee, you are wrong.

My Kyocera Slider Remix is malfunctioning; I can only hear the person calling me if I use the external speaker (speaker phone). So, naturally I go through the process of having it replaced because I have insurance on it which costs $4.95 a month. This insurance is called "Handset Protection Plan" or simply "Replacement Plan". By the sound of it you would think that if you lose your phone or it breaks or gets stolen you will be provided with a new one if you have the insurance Cricket provides it's customers. The part that you aren't told when you make the choice to insure your phone is that you will have to pay an $85.00 deductable in order to get it replaced. I just went online and found my exact phone model, brand new, with a leather case, a wall charger and a car charger for $65.00. When I purchased my phone through Cricket a couple of years ago they charged me $300.00. The monthly charges I have paid to insure it over the last 2 years adds up to $120.00 for a total of $420.00. Do the math and you will see how much of a rip-off Cricket actually is. For $420.00 I could have bought nearly 7 of the same phones through Alltell.

Cricket is just a rip-off... PERIOD!!!

    I disagree with you complaint.
    The cell phone insurance is pretty standard through out the industy in montly coverage fees & the company that offers the insurance.
    Myself & friends have had & used the insurance thru other carriers outside of Cricket & the replacement phone WAS NOT FREE!!!...there was a replacement charge around the same dollar amount you stated ($85.00) so sadly this is not a Cricket issue but rather an insurance coverage company issue!

    ...no surprise really, think about insurance in general- you pay huge mothly rates for health insurance but still have out of pocket cost, deductables, denied procedures, with your car or home- same type of issues...bottom line- GREED=INSURANCE COMPANIES!!!

    My daughter wanted the Cricket broadband service that I paid with my credit card to start this service. To my shock Cricket started withdrawals from my credit card without my authorization. I called them on this and they refused to put their immediate supervisor on the line but eventually after threatening to contact my attorney they finally put Micheal on the line. He reported that I had requested Auto withdrawal from the account and that was the reason for the deduction. I explicitly told him that I have never allowed anyone to deduct from my account and did not authorize Cricket to do this. He then told me that their company would credit my account the
    amount to my account within three days. Well I waited and still am waiting for that amount to be credited back. They lied and hooked me into believing that they were honest enough to do this. Laugh out Loud!!! They probably laughed at me when they hung up the phone and then celebrated that they got another sucker.. Will

    My cell phone was delivered non-operational last Friday and I had called cricket within a day.I am still without a cell phone and none have been shipped.
    Thus far I I have spoken to:
    12.6 Spoke with Brent ID 2174
    12.5 Ella ID 1730
    Katy 12.5 ID 2675 (on callback after first rep hung up the phone)
    12.7 Chen ID 1145

    The problem still exists and I am requesting your help in resolving it.
    Unfortunately, service has not performed well and is inadequate because I have already paid for the service and am yet able to begin using it. I am disappointed the product does not work and the service was not performed correctly. I really want to resolve this problem immediately and would appreciate your help. I would like a new phone shipped out to me immediately so that I can continue being available to my family and associates.

    Supervisor Chen appeared non-responsive and anti-consumer throughout the entire call and I was made to feel as if I was being punished for daring to order a cheap service. The other reps were untrained and had a very poor command of basic English therefore having me repeat my lines multiple times. After scouring the internet I found hundreds of complaints regarding Crcket and only wish that I Googled the company beforehand. I was just told by a former cricket customer that Cricket parades around as a legitimate company but can never deliver the goods. If I do not recieve a response within a day I will be canceling the service. I will also be writing the President of the company a letter with a copy of this Email.
