Comerica Bank customer service

I am in a dispute with California regarding an vehicle they claimed was located and driven in their state during 2014. The auto was actually in Michigan and registered in MI during that period. CA incorrectly was trying to collect vehicle registration fees, plus penalties. Comerica allowed CA to levy $1, 704 out of my account. I now have no leverage to resolve the matter. When Comerica let CA take the funds, they over-drafted my account and now charging it a $6 daily over-draft fee. Comerica never informed me they were doing this. I found out when they said the account had a negative balance. By the way, I am a 30 plus year customer.

This bank should be fined, closed and made to pay all the middle income people who have been cheated, stole from and helped by this bank to take your money! Nice when you have lots of money! Very crappie when you do not! No help when you are stole from or cheated! Allowing everyone to cheat you! Their fraud crap is a lie just to waste your time! I think the corruption if insane! Anyone know of a Class action suit, let me know ! The banks should have been forced to close and Not bailed out! Now they are still finding ways to screw you out of your money a Dollor at a time ! This place needs to be investigated and make to pay for the sick way normal people are treated! They have found me wrong every time someone cheated me !, , Xmas 2013 I had someone steal 600$ 4 time in Seattle which I was not at! Noe the bounce checks so you have to keep paying their fees!

Comerica Bank deposit not credited and overdraft fees charged

On October 3 my monthly direct deposit to my account from my social security was made. I made a funds transfer to make a credit card payment on October 3 and I was charged $25 because I was told that the funds were not available.
When I checked my account activity it shows that the balance at the time of the transfer was $686 which is the correct amount in my account after my social security direct deposit was credited.

Comerica Bank not recording cash deposits

Twice now in the last 2 months major deposits into Comerica Bank have 'not been scanned' after we made the deposit i.e. the funds never appeared into our account until we called and instigate an investigation. TwiceApparently they are having a problem with their scanners?
If you run a business, this banking unreliability is unacceptable.

Comerica Bank fees are outrageous

My husband went into the lobby to ask about the $42 fee on our account. They said we had an overdraft (which never shows on the account) and that we should change to a "no fee" account. Once again there is a $35 service fee on our account this month. So much for a no fee account. I counted the transactions on our account for the month and there were 46. There are so many banks that have free business checking for up to 200 transactions per month. Just don't even bother with this bank. They are greedy and incompetent!
Now I have to go into the lobby and try to get the fee back that I was not supposed to be charged. Just not worth the time and aggravation. Stay away!

Comerica Bank bogus fees

I withdrew all of my money and closed my account over a month ago. They immediately put a 5.00 fee against my (closed) account, which of course was immediately overdrawn, because there was nothing in the "closed" account. They have contracted a collection agency against me and they have been calling me 6-8 times daily to try and collect 42.00 plus in their fees. 5.00 because they "said so" (and needed a random amount to overdraw) and another 37.00 because their "SAID SO" 5.00 was was overdrawn. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK! CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED! POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES!

Comerica Bank customer service

I have never been treated so badly by any "customer service" rep. Her name was Nelly, she was beyond rude. In fact, I have never been treated that badly in my life. WIll be contacting BBB to let them know what kind of business this bank is running. Not only did Comerica not send me out a new card before mine expired, they then said they were Rushing a card to me and I should get it in 4 days... A week later still no way to get money from my account besides having to actually deal with the horrible service in the bank. I called and card services said they manager at the Comerica Bank here in Arizona NEVER actually had a new card sent out to me. So now I have to wait another 7-10 days before I can get "another" card. I have been with this bank for 26 years and am no longer able to stand the lack of customer service this bank offers. What bank can't issue a temp. replacement ATM card?

Comerica Bank just sucks in MANY ways.

I am going to leave this plain and simple BECAUSE they actually pay people to pretend to be normal consumers and go out and respond to each and every complaint that they find against themselves, regardless of the reason and regardless of how well deserved it is. Just watch, someone will respond against this complaint - even though I have given absolutely no details about my situation with them. It is their sworn duty, one in which they are paid to do - protect the king against the peasants complaints. Well, I say OVERTHROW the king.

I am a single mother of two. On December 15, 2011, I had $645 in the bank. I went to an ATM machine to withdraw $500 to purchase Christmas presents for my children and buy food for our Christmas meal. I'm not trying to pull at your heart strings, but you need to understand what heartless people I have dealt with at Comerica Bank.

When the ATM dispensed the cash, the slot wasn't big enough to handle the $500, so it got jammed inside the machine. As a security feature of the ATM, it retracts the cash so no one else can fish it out. Well they deducted $500 plus their $3 fee for the cash I never received. I immediately went inside the branch and told them what happened. They were able to contact someone in their ATM operations and knew for a fact that the money was not dispensed and was retracted. There is no question that I didn't get the cash. They told me I had to file a complaint in order to get the money back and it would be there within ten days.

Today is January 3, 2012 and I still have not received a credit for the money their machine stole from me. I go to the branch and they tell me it should post as a credit tonight, but it never does.

This is a common happening. I have talked to many other people and posted this on my social networks and many have told me this happened to them, but the bank gave them a conditional credit since they are able to determine that the money wasn't dispensed.

Why would I not be given a conditional credit like others? They know and admit they never dispensed my cash, yet they do nothing. If I owed them a dollar, they would be calling everyone of my relatives and trying to ruin my credit as soon as possible, in addition to adding ungodly fees and charges.

Please do me a favor and do not do business with this bank. They have really hurt me and caused me to have the most stressful and depressing Christmas ever. I wish I was rich and could afford a $500 mistake like this, but I'm not. Thanks. Lorena

whythelongfaces...your an ###! The same thing just happened to me! The atm sucked my money back in cause I took too long to remove it and yes, it credited that money but then I tried the atm again and was told unable to process your request at this time and it still deducted another 130 that it never gave me...so answer that? I got the same runaround she did and they are incompetent people whom work there...Comerica sucks! I will be looking for another bank today! I have banked with them just as long and have had major problems with them over the last 5 yrs! Customer service and appreciation is not what it used to be! She's right!

Comerica Bank does not provide adequate customer care. They do not mind going back 10 years to find mistakes that benefit them but can't go back to benefit customer. The only reply is do you have a receipt, no I do not keep receipts back that far but I am not ###ed and I know they would have allowed me to open a second acct if I owed. In the event they did their mistake so they should eat. When I've had the money many times over to pay.

Comerica Bank improper deactivation of card # [protected]

COMERICA BANK IMPROPERLY DEACTIVATED MY CARD THAT I REPORTED STOLEN ON OR ABOUT THE 15-16 OF MARCH. SUBSEQUENTLY MY ENTIRE SSI BENEFIT WAS TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT. A NEW CARD WAS ISSUED TO ME AS IF THE CARD( #[protected]) AS WAS DEACTIVATED. WHEN I CONTACTED THE DIRECT EXPRESS PEOPLE AT [protected] I WAS TOLD FOR THE SECOND TIME THAT THE CARD WAS GOING TO BE DEACTIVATED, AND THE CARD THAT I NOW HOLD [protected]) WOULD HAVE MY BENEFITS POSTED ON IT. BEFORE HANGING UP I WAS TOLD THAT THREE TRANSACTIONS HAD JUST BEEN MADE IN INCREMENTS OF $201 EACH. I AM ATTEMPTING TO FILE A POLICE REPORT BUT IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT I RECEIVE SOME CORRESPONDING INFORMATION FROM THE BANK. IN CONCLUSION, IT APPEARS TO BE THE FAULT OF COMERICA BANK BECAUSE THEY IMPROPERLY DEACTIVATED MY CARD THAT I REPORTED STOLEN ON OR ABOUT THE 15-16 OF MARCH. I AM ATTEMPTING TO FILE A POLICE REPORT BUT IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT I RECEIVE SOME CORRESPONDING INFORMATION FROM THE BANK. IN CONCLUSION, I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY LEGAL COUNSEL THAT IT APPEARS TO BE THE FAULT OF THE BANK (COMERICA) AS A SECOND CARD SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ISSUED WITHOUT FIRST CONFIRMING THAT THE REPORTED STOLEN CARD [protected]) WAS PROPERLY DEACTIVATED. I AM HOPEFUL THAT WE CAN RESOLVE THIS MATTER WITHOUT ANY LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST THE BANK BEING NEEDED.
AGAIN MY CURRENT PHONE NUMBER IS [protected]
RESPECTFULLY, MR. SHERIDANN BLAIR LAWRENCE [protected]

Comerica is just the bank that funds the card. Social Security manages them. You'd have to talk to Social Security about the cards being open or closed. Also, you could be receiving fraud on your account because you BROADCASTED your entire card number on here, along with your name, for every criminal to see and use!

Comerica Bank wish I could prosecute

They do not fulfill on anything that they promise. I specifically asked to cancel relationships with certain online businesses. I even signed documentation to stop ACH transactions on my account. They continue to charge and accept fees. Terrible company.
Another great con for them is this. I set up a free bank account. There were no monthly fees. In January of this year I receive a MISC. $5 fee saying it is for monthly maintanence. Then they don't charge me for Feb. or March.

I think both of you need to go back and actually read the comment that was made. I did not basically tell you anything Stealth Pilot. I stated that your personal attachment to your comments suggest some kind of relationship. That was all. Never once did I doubt your knowledge of banks.

People can most certainly disagree with whatever they want.

Either way I am done commenting on this post. It was a disagreement that I have with my bank from personal conversations that I have had with managers who are employed by them.

Don't really consider myself whining. It was a complaint which is what this site was made for.
Second don't talk to me like you know me or are better than me. Got it?

Update by Trump552
Mar 06, 2011 11:00 pm EST

When you sign a document stating that your account does not allow ACH transactions, they should not allow such charges. Now that is common sense.
Second I have no responsibility to open a damn envelope as you say. I have even mentioned the preferred method of contact to be through email. The point was simply that they can change and charge whatever they want.
Good damage control though. Sounds like you probably work for them the way you take offense.

Comerica Bank gives no reason

I had a business bank account for over a year with Comerica because they could support our California and Michigan offices. Well the time came to get an address updated and new debit cards. The Comerica rep asked me for paperwork that they lost, so I went and got the paperwork for them and then they didn't follow up. I called, called, called then finally the same reprensentative in the branch in Clarkston, Michigan answered and said she can't speak with me and the manager would call me. The manager called and said we have to terminate the relationship. I did nothing wrong, so I was very confused. I escalated the situation and everyone was the same..very short with responses and zero reason given. So we moved our account to another bank and filed a complaint with the Attorney General. I've never been treated so poorly as I was by the representatives at Comerica Bank in Clarkston, Michigan.

We voluntarily gave back a mobile home back in 2002, with the belief if we did so that Comerica, who offered the deal would honor their part. they had us sign a deed in lieu and a deficiency waiver. a couple of years later they sued us anyways, and have been garnishing my husbands wages for about 7 years. They have collected 60 thousand dollars so far, and now want 59 thousand in interest. The amount in my opinion is way above and beyond any deficiency on a mobile home. We wondered for years why we did not get any notice or warning of garnishments so that we could defend ourselves. Recently we pulled the entire court case from the records and found they have been sending notice to a home we have not lived in for 10 years! I am pretty sure they are intelligent enough to figure out we haven't live there in a decade, and feel this is deliberate. I am going to try and object and perhaps even sue them for what i don't know yet, but what ever legal means and rights we have we are going to use them. My question, we never received a copy of the waiver or the dil, that they promised to mail us, once again duped by our trusting their word. Do we have a chance to gain back anything? At this point just stopping them from garnishing would be a Godsend, but some of that money returned would be a bonus.

Comerica Bank held funds

My elderly parents have banked with Comerica for years. My father passed away in April and I have had to hire caretakers to take care of my mother, who has mild Alzheimers, trying to keep her in her own home. One of her caretakers, a very kind lady who happens to be black, took my mother with her to Comerica to cash her check. They wouldn't cash it for her and the next day froze my mother's account due to "suspicious activity". I wonder what was so suspicious? I continued to pay my mother's bills from the checking account because they also DID NOT NOTIFY US that they had frozen the account. We found out when the checks started being returned and we got bank fee charge notices from Comerica! Keep in mind that there was $20k+ in the account. Major ordeal to get her money back to her, costly to us. Who do they think they are? Big brother of banking. Don't bank there.

Nice of you three to comment on this, BUT YOURE MISSING THE POINT!

The bank should notify someone that the account is frozen. Action, reaction. If they do not have an email address to contact THEN GET ON THE ###ING PHONE.

Don't defend comerica, they are functionally ###ed at best.

Comerica Bank over draft fees

Comerica Bank has the same policies in place for checking accounts as Wells Fargo. Recently there was a Federal Judge that awarded Wells Fargo customers over 200 million dollars from unfair trade practices. To be specific, Comerica processes all transactions in a checking account from largest to smallest regardless of when the transaction took place. Any check that comes in to your account gets paid first ahead of any Visa Check Debits regardless of what you may have seen on the banks online register. Largest to smallest paid checks can wipe out a persons checking account by charging extreme amounts of fees. Can you imagine having thirty Visa Check Debit transactions over two days being circumvented by one large check that comes into the account? A single check mistake can wipe out a persons bank account and create a financial nightmare. The banks policy was a result of focus groups that were asked what would they rather have and the result was pay the larger check over any smaller amounts. There is no way anyone would agree to 30 transaction fees wiping out a checking account at 37.00 each by paying one large check. Banks like Amegy Bank process their customer transactions properly. They process all Visa Check Debits first then debits followed by checks. Amegy Bank processes largest to smallest but checks are processed last which is what real customer service is all about. Amegy still understands that I am a customer and their business practices confirm that. So as you can see I am making my bank Amegy bank and goodbye Comerica.

Comerica Bank atm machine

I used the ATM machine at my local Comerica branch. The machine did not give me the money. I reported this immediately to the bank. The people at the branch were unable to help me. The bank took the money out of my account. The ATM is serviced by a third party, so the branch manager and tellers all told me that there is nothing they can do. They said 'they will look into it'. They were unable (or unwilling) to explain to me what 'look into it' means or when the problem might be resolved. They said that if their investigation goes well, I might be able to get my money back in 10 business days.

They were unwilling to provide me with contact information within Comerica Bank so that I could pursue the matter further. They were unwilling to provide me with contact information on where I can file a complaint. Their machine kept my money, and that's about it. I'm out of luck and out of $200.

I have banked at this branch for 10 years. They all know me and until yesterday, I had good relations with the people at this branch. I asked them to put an out-of-order sign on the machine and call for service. They were unwilling to even do that. They just said, sometimes this happens and with any luck, it will work out eventually. I asked them to look at the security camera tape to verify that the money did not come out of the machine. They said they could not do that. In essence, there is no way for me to prove my claim that I did not get the money out of the machine. They're just going to keep it.

Comerica Bank swindled out of my money

My husband, Tierce Smith passed away Auguest 9, 2002. THere is a rich rewards checking account in this institution, with a balance of approximately $5, 800, which I have been trying to obtain the funds since after my husband's passing. I have been stonewalled, treated rudely, lied to, and I have been denied these funds for over 7 years. I have contacted Doris Polk and I have been lied to by her, left in the lobby for days on end, with no answers. I was then put in touch with a very rude and unprofessional gentleman by the name of D.J. Coker, who has identified himself as the senior Vice President and general counsel for Comerica Bank. He has lied to me, treated me rude, written me a scathing letter, and has unreasonably withheld my funds. They are paying a whopping $0.22 per month in interest. He told me that I would be able to obtain my funds by providing an indemnity bond., which I made arrangements to do. Mr. Coker then stopped answering and returning calls, told me I must hire a lawyer, and after 7 years, finally followed through with filing a Petition in Interpleader. Comerica Bank has deliberately, knowingly, and illegally withheld my funds. There must be a stop put to this illegal, unprofessional handling of my money. I am sure there are some Federal and State laws, which have been violated, and I would like to pursue any and all avenues to have fines and sanctions placed against this illegal and corrupt bank. Please note, there is also a sizable CD missing, which I have provided the account number to numerous people at Comerica Bank, and the individuals are as follows... Gina, is the new branch manager at the Waxahachie, Texas location, Doris Polk at the Waxahachie location, as well as Susan Schmidt, as well as to the rude and unprofessional quote Senior Vice President/General Counsel for Comerica Bank, D.J. Coker, and all I keep being told is that they are researching it. As of June 15, 2010, they have never provided me with the information.

I have never been treated so rude and unprofessional. I cannot imagine that they be allowed to remain in business because of their illegal dealings.

On the afternoon of Monday May 15, 2017 I attempted to make a purchase in the amount of $135.61 at Forever 21. This transaction was declined by the merchant twice. After proceeding to make the payment with another credit card, I checked my available balance on the Direct Express (Comerica Bank) app, to find that I had an available balance of about $49. Immediately, I proceeded to call Direct Express as I knew that the balance was incorrect. I spoke with a representative in the Fraud Department on May 15, 2017 and they immediately cancelled the card. The representative and I went through the fraudulent transactions and she informed me that not all of the transactions had cleared. She then advised to call back in two business days when all of the transactions cleared so that I could do one fraudulent claim instead of having to do multiple. On Wednesday May 17, 2017 I called Direct Express to make the fraud claim. The representative that I spoke with asked me a series of questions pertaining to the loss of card and identifying the fraud transactions. The transactions totaled $34630.75.
After further reviewing the fraudulent transactions I noticed that some transactions were made within the same minute (only seconds apart). All of the transactions that were made were made at multiple ATM locations. This raises an alarm as the amounts that were taken (some totaling $803) would take at least 2 minutes or more to dispense from an ATM.
From my understanding Direct Express is a third party company that manages the funds distributed by the Social Security Administration and by the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a disabled veteran I am very dissatisfied with the lack of security that Direct Express has provided on my behalf. The fact that an individual was able to dispense over 34K in one day from my account is unacceptable.

Hello I have been reading all your stories. I am not surprise with how Comerica has rip off people. The way to handle a complaint with any bank you file with the OCC department of complaints against banks and the FDIC, and consumer finance.gov. I am sure any of you will get better results against those banks such as Comerica. Advise from me keep complaining to Comerica and keep a detail list of anyone you all come in contact at any bank.

I opened an account in September 2011 under the promise that if I met all their stipulations then I would receive $100 cash back after 90 days. Well I met all the stipulations (well before the 90 day mark) and yet no money from Comerica. I have been calling for over a month and a half now and every time I talk to someone they say "I will have to check the list and get back to you", NEVER have I received a call back. Tomorrow will be the final call, if I do not receive an answer than I will be withdrawing my money and banking elsewhere... somewhere that appreciates their customers and don't have to lie to get business.

They have been calling me 6-8 times daily to try and collect 42.00 plus in their fees. 5.00 because they said so and another 37.00 because their said so 5.00 was was overdrawn. Dr. Gurgen from Comerica came to my office 2 months ago and asked that I go with Comerica and open to business banking accounts. But some how this great customer service has come to this... Now Comerica is investigating the bank accounts for fraud, then froze my bank accounts without any warrant at all, and Gurgen the Phd called the police on me instead trying to handle this matter over the phone. After 3 years of building an honest business through out this great recession, registered, licensed, bonded by the State of California I am on the verge financial disaster because I made the fatal error of opening up 2 business checking accounts at Comerica. Please heed my warning and avoid this place, It may sound better then BofA but they nearly turned this upstanding citizen and small business owner into a criminal. Something strange is going on inside this bank as they have serious issues with trust

Comerica Bank has to be the worst. Specifically, a named Supervisor from the Coolidge-Sherwood Office in OakPark Michigan by the name of Tavia Underwood. I went into discuss personal matters regarding the ridiculous fees the charge. Instead of treating a person like a customer she talked down to me and not only that she was talking loud enough for others to hear my personal business. She has a lot to learn as far as treating people respect. When I walked out to the branch office, even some of the other customers talked to me and told me she was very unprofessional. They too heard every word she said. She is far away from being an Assistance Vice President for any banking branch.

I am going to close all of my accounts! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS LADY!

Comerica bank is the biggest rip off out there.

The other day I got a statement in the mail that I was over drafted, how could this be? I don't even use this account anymore. So I went up to my branch where they proceeded to explain to me that if you don't use your account for 90 day's they have the right to charge you fee's. OK fine I said. Now I know can you please reverse these fee's for me?
I have never bounced a check here and I have been a customer since 2004.
The bank manager Jeffrey S. Reed of the Clarkston, Mi branch was very rood and insisted they have a right to rip me off like this. I told him if I had to pay the fee's I am closing my account. He seemed fine with that. He certainly doe's not care about his customers. I have to say it seemed like he was enjoying himself as he was talking to me, kind of like I have the power and I don't like the way you look so screw you.
So after talking to this idiot for about 15 minutes I marched up to the teller and deposited the overdraft fee's in cash and told her I was closing my account.
She was genuinely concerned and apologetic. She actually had tears in her eyes. I have a feeling she see's this all the time.
After talking to other people since this happened I found out I was not the only one they have ripped off with there ridicules fee's.
I say stay away from this Comerica bank. They are bad news and do not care for there customers.

Comerica recently changed their overdraft policy to a Check fee? Not sure what this means and no one can tell me but my monthly service fee jumped from $23 in June to $1327 in July to $3089 in August! Simply criminal and no one at the bank can tell me why? How is this possible in the United States?

Comerica Bank trustee won't pay bills on time or not at all!

My parents and I live in WI - Opened a trust for my brother (CA) and I (WI)
Mom died (my brothersKEITH JAMES MUELLER & wife of 5 years(CYNTHIA MUELLER - of Saratoga, CA came to WI took everything 0 heirlooms, antiques, carnival glass, art and the original Trust made in 1986- chucked the real will/trust (revised by mom and dad in 2004 because they feared the new wife was a gold digger (BOY WERE THEY RIGHT !)
I've been stalked, harassed, intimidated, and assaulted since 2004 (mom changed the will /trust to benefit me - and put keiths in a trust for HIM ) To my understanding by "thugs"' and politially connected buddies he knows (maybe even ol' Bernie M. )
They made a new will/trust they ALLEDGED have dad sign WEEKs before his death after they took him to CA - cashed in 16 life insurance polices and are living the high life. Me ? I got a Trust with Comerica Bank (BRENDA PEARSON ) - I have to BEG< PLED for anything . SHe got ALL SHE NEEDED TO OPEN MY TRUST< FUND IT and make distributions on my behalf ...so why does she pay my Credit cards late, my homeowner insurance cancel (non payment because she FORGOT ) and my residence in foreclosure because she didn't think $14, 000 on a 174, 999.00 I have 80, 000 in equity - in her opion was "in MY best interest" - (I'm sleeping on a couch and all my stuff is still in my house)
Forget calling the COMPTROLLER OF CURRENCY - that suppost to PROTECT consumers - they push papers, ignore you and of course side with the bank - because since Aug 2009 - they haven't done a thing (do tax payers PAY for that ?) I attempted to call M Goodnight (manager) there ...as a LAST resort - but hey - I'm still sleeping on a couch, the mortgage lender won't work with me because I'm physically disabled (yeah - you guessed it - from an assault by thugs- LOST MY JOB because of it too! ) But the Trust suppost to take care of that RIGHT ? Oh yeah Brenda thinks Property taxes aren' t necessary as well - along with food, shelter, and a car (want to save that trust money so IF I die - like 3 family members 6 months apart...my lovely brother and wife in CA will not only have all my properties (as well as my inheritance) but the phony Trust they created for me too !
Think thats wrong ? Yeah... I guess I'll have to hire an attorney to help me in CA - Oh yeah I did that - put down everything I had (1000) with a hope the trustee would pay the balance 9000.00 - NOPE she ran up my fees so the 1000 went nowhere - and guess what there is a CONFLICT OF INTEREST between the attorney and Comerica - found that out when I got the retainer check back - stamped COMERICA BANK ON THE BACK - SAN JOSE> is there a law against taking a retainer 'pretending to help' then abandoning you in court MINUS 1000 you might of paid another mortgage with ? Of course there is ...I guess I'll have to hire another attorney (with my good looks ) and my foreclosed property or my belonging still in them - HEY

Comerica Bank identity theft

Where is Robin Hood when we need him? Our daily news is over run with the debate regarding the necessity of governmental monitoring of one thing or another. Why is it we never see the topic of discussion addressing financial institutions? By financial instituions I mean banks. I am one of the millions who trusted my bank, viewed my statement on line every day, pay bills on line, and purchased goods on line as well. I was doing my part to aid our economy believe me.

One day just before Thanksgiving 2007, while reviewing my statement online, I notice pending charges in excess of $149 from a transaction I did not make. So I call the telephone number attached to the transaction and inquire. After a brief conversation with an operator from a company I'd never heard of, I explained to the gentleman how he had just stolen money from the wrong person and he needed to contact his superior and have the funds reversed. And, he needed to take care of it prior to my contacting my banks legal department, which was the next phone call I was going to make.

I felt somewhat confident in my bank coming to my aid as I was contacting someone prior to the transaction completion as well as providing them with the information I obtained through my investigations.
The response I received was shocking to say the least. Don't get me wrong, I did receive their empathy, but that's all I received. Oh sure, they were willing to issue a stop payment against the charges, along with a $35 fee to me. And, that didn't really guarantee they could issue it in time. Then I was informed I could always take my chances because some times charges of "this nature" sometimes just "fall off" and never charge against the account. No such luck for me. This did charge against my account and forced legetimate transactions into over draft or NSF status, of which I had to pay.

I was forced to go to the bank branch, fill out the paper work to get my money back, try to prove a time-line in which the bank deducted the fees so I could re-gain some of my lost funds. I then had to back track to the merchants I wrote checks to and hope they didn't charge me a returned check fee. I did end up paying for one because Comerica refused to accept the responsibility.

Our banking institutions are simply too protected by legal loop-holes so it's no wonder there is such a high rate of identity theft.

Companies are getting rich off societies fear of having, of all things their identity stolen! I like looking at myself in the mirror every morning knowing I have an idea of what it means to have integrity and humanity. It was a sad day when it was discovered how one human being could cheat another to advance themselves.
The only statement I have left to say is I hope those of you participating in these activities find your way out soon because you are not as smart as you think. We are on to you and we are wise beyond what you can comprehend. We have learned to move on and find strength in something greater than you or anything you have done.

Comerica banks sucks as it does not protect the customer. They use your money. They continue to make money off you by outlandish fees and charges going back as far as 12 years saying you owe them. Ask them to make a correction on mistakes made by them they claim they can only back 2 months and are otherwise clueless as to what you may be referring to. Only then you to find out how they have they have managed to escape governing regulation loop holes to finance their law suits and their other banking losses.

I also have a problem with the bank charging me over draft fees when my statement that I pull off the internet that the Bank Manager told me that is not correct and I should not go by that information so why is it there.
When my card was used charged and I called the company and canceled the transtion and went to my bank to get a new card because I had canceled my card and to get other help with my account I was told by the San Jose Branch on East Santa Clara Street that they company should not give me a new Atm card because I don't know how to use it. Even though Comerica Bank charges your account when it is still pending and when the item goes through and you have a positive amount they think that is legal and they cann't produce paperwork to show me in writing that is correct way to do business.

Weather its on the phone or in person they treat you like you don't know what you are talking about even if you own your own business and have a background in ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING ACCOUNTS.

go to a credit union I hear they are better

comerica bank should not be in business and should not be trusted. They do not carry great security over your accounts. I gotten $350.00 stolen out of my account, and caught on the same day it was stolen and filed it stolen...had to wait 5 days before filing a dispute. It took over a month of investigation..last month i was awarded back my money. And now they are trying to get the money back saying overdrawn claiming the money wad only temporary. They said that they could not find anything in the investatigation..so im suppose to be okay with that? No way..my money was stolen..and because they did not do their jobs thoroughly I refuse to be that victim and let them take money from me.

I couldn't agree more! If I mentioned what I paid last year in overdraft fees to Comerica Bank I doubt even you would believe me! I'm so sick of these blood suckers. How is this legal? Oh, wait, who am I kidding, it's legal because they're a bank, and in this country banks get away with fraud and perpetuate it as if it were their core business model! Please let me know if you tried to get it back, and if so, any luck?

I have paid over $3000.00 last year in overdraft fees! I run my business account through comerica and they have constantly charged overdraft fees to my account, $37 per item adds up quickly. 10-12 in one night. When I look online at my account it shows that i have positive money in there, so when i use that money for gas, pops ect... then they hit me with 3 overdraft fees that night for those items. The thing is that although my account shows a positive balance they DO NOT show you the overdraft fees that will post from the night before, so they make you think your o.k., only to find out that they have hit you again for using your money! Then they want you to set up overdraft protection VIA credit card or savings accounts. But they dont tell you that the money put on your credit card is actully a cash advance which they charge you 30% untill the ENTIRE balance of your credit card is paid off in full! Another way they set up savings account overdraft protection, but if you only have $5.00 in there they will transfer the $5 bucks and charge you $12 for doing this only to charge you another $37 because it still wasn't enough to cover the item that came through! Enough is Enough how can they get away with this. They SHOULD BE WORKING WITH US to prevent this, but instead they make things worse. I feel like im working my butt off only to pay my bank! $370 in 1 night is some people paycheck for the entire week. It's not fair. most banks work like this, but how can we the consumer change this?

My company has been banking with Comerica for several years now. We have never had problems on their end with our account until recently. They have been allowing us to overdraft and charging us for it even though we have overdraft protection! When we have tried contacting them about it they tell us that they cannot refund they money and do not know why or how it is happening. Whats the point of overdraft protection if it does not work? And how can a bank tell me that they DO NOT HAVE ANSWERS? I thought you were never supposed to tell a customer that? I don't know... interesting.

I hate Comerica Bank. I never had a problem with them until the new law that will not allow them to charge any overdraft fees. They began to hold my direct deposits so they hope to get any transaction in and charge me overdraft fees. I went and talk to the manage and they just did not want to help me. They charged me more than 900.00 in fees so I stop using their account, yet they continue to charge me continuous fees.

"DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY IN THIS BANK"

They are rude and steal your money.
If you complain they just look for ways to not return you any money. They do not do business in a right matter and look for ways to take your money. If you do not check your account frequently they charge you whatever they find and if you call complaining they told you it is your problem you did not checked before...

IF YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS BANK, CLOSE IT TODAY.
IF YOU ARE PLANING TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING TO COMERICA BANK

Comerica has hit with 10 NSF Fees, I put a check for approx $700.00 in the atm on July 3, the check was not cleared in my checking account until July 7 so, the only put $100.00 in to my checking account then each atm charge bounced after
At $33.00 per check, I have been banking with them for over 20 years, with no NSF activity; you would think they would give me a break, since the money was there in my account

I was hit with a large amount of NSF fees as well. It is probably greed, but not related to capitalism, since we are seeing the same greed with our Democratic congress and with the TARP funds. For capitalism, we have a choice of moving our money to another bank or credit union (which I will be doing)!

Comerica Bank - they are idiots!

I went to Comerica Bank to purchase a money order for $90. I layed the cash on the counter and was told that I could not just purchase a money order with U.S. Currency. I had to withdraw the money from my account and then purchase the money order. The manager told me that they were complying with homeland security rules and that the teller could go to jail...
