Citibank Citi flex plan

I have been on-line and on phone for over an hour trying to see if I can get help with Citi bank flex plan and seems no one can help me. That has of Oct 27th I will have a payment of almost $700 due. What I was trying to do was either see if I could modify payment or cancel and just pay more like $300 a month this is towards a balance of under $5000 and I have a high credit score. I am very upset that I am told I am locked in with no alternatives. Michelle Straub

Desired outcome: Help with amount due each month on this account.

Citibank Credit card judgment lien against my property unreleased for over 8 years

My husband and I are currently working with our local credit union to open HELOC. Their underwriters in doing the property search discovered an active lien on our property in the amount of $3531.23 filed on 2/11/15. In researching, I discovered it was in regards to a judgement that was filed against us 7/24/12 from Citibank for a credit card we had defaulted on. At that time Buffaloe and Associates were handling the account. We went to court and worked out a repayment of the debt and on 11/30/15 we paid off the debt thru the county court. In the midst of the court approved repayment on 7/24/15 we received a letter form Lloyd & Mcdaniel with a substitution of Counsel and on 2/11/2015 the judgement was filed with the county, almost 3 years after the approved repayment agreement and 9 months before we paid the account in full. We were never late with any of our payments, so I am not sure why they chose to file at the late date. Bringing the current, I reached out too Buffaloe and Loyd & Mcdaniel to discuss if the release of judgement had been sent and just somehow lost and not recorded with the county. Both companies advised me since it was closed with them that I would need to contact Citibank directly to obtain that information and /or release. One rep at Buffaloe provided some phone numbers, and this is where the main part of the complaint is created. 10/16 and 10/17 I have attempted to reach the department at Citi bank that will be able to release this judgement. Of the 5 customer service reps I have spoken to, I have been told that they cant transfer me to that department without the account information and cant or wont transfer me to their supervisor. They state they dont have access to that information. One rep gave me a number that turned out to be the citi Bank mortgage department which couldnt help because I never had a mortgage. Only a credit card. Today I was told because I was not the primary card holder that they could not provide me with a phone number at all, I advised I was an authorized signor and authorized to discuss the account when it was open, but they would not listen. Most didnt take the time to understand what I needed, most, in my opinion didnt even know what a lien was and why it was an issue. They were rude on top of ignorant. There is nothing online that gives me any direction of who to contact to help me. I have reached back out to LLoyd &Mcdaniel today to try to work this out thru them, but I dont think they were the final company that covered my account as I also have a letter I obtained in 2020 from Aldridge Pite Haan stating my acocunt was paid in full. I have left them two messages but no one has called me back from there. This paid in full judgement is on a paid off card from a case over 10 years ago with the judgement having been paid in full for over 8 years ago now. At this point we are unable to finalize our HELOC, and we are out of options of how to resolve this unless one of the attorneys takes the responsbility or Citibank finally puts us in touch with the correct department that can help, which we are beyond frustrated and wish to not deal with them anymore because of how we have been treated. I also would add that this is not showing on my credit report at all. I have supporting documents but couldnt upload them

Desired outcome: copy of lien release filed or expedited preparation and filing of release of paid in full judgement against my property

Citibank Citi diamond preferred credit card

On 7/23/23 they closed my card when I reported it was stolen, they said that I would receive a new card and that I will get a new account I was worried since they mentioned closing it but they assured me once I receive my card I can just activate my account like normal. After a few weeks I still didn’t get my card so I reported it not arriving and asked for a card. After a few more weeks I couldn’t even look up the old acct anymore to look for an update so I messaged a customer rep on the citi app chat and they said my account was suspended since I never received any of the cards and would need to call customer service to ask for them to lift the suspension on my account but when I called they said I asked for my account to be closed and that they can’t do anything and gave me another number to call but it was not working so I went back to the chat and they assured me my account is not closed and is just suspended and to call again but when I did they just had me complete an application for reopening the account but it was rejected. I feel like its unfair that I have to keep calling for my account to be reinstated when in the first place the customer representative assured me my account being closed was temporary until wget my card.

Desired outcome: I would like for my account to be reinstated.

Citibank locked my account over callback verification

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Polly Montano and I have an account with Citibank, I merely have a checking account currently. Before I give my grievance, I wish to give you some background information. I chose Citibank to begin my Retirment plans for the very near future financial support. I have researched several banks and appreciated the accounts and support systems offered by Citibank. I am soon retiring and beginning to deposit funds as they come in. With that said to finish my last project I have had some last finances needed to go out to pay out the last of my project needs.

I understand clearly the need to have security measures in place to protect my finances. However, with some transactions I have had a GREAT deal of problems getting funds out to succeed at moving forward with my retirement. My complaint is one of recent, on September 27, 2023, I transferred $20,000.00 to my account. On October 02,2023, I called Citibank online wire department to let them know I would be sending out a large wire with all of the information necessary to assure the fraud department would be informed. Because of the problems of sending other wires, I felt it necessary to inform the bank of any transaction before making it to assure there would be documentation available to communicate my intention. On October 2, 2023, I sent an online wire of $14,000.00 and on October 3, 2023, I received an email indicating my account was restricted and I was required to call the Fraud Department, which I did. I spoke to Jerry at 10:30 AM answered all of the questions, provided all the information requested. Jerry was unable to complete the release of my funds and lift the restriction and recommended to call again later to attempt to once again lift the restrictions. Jerry was amenable and quite courteous. At 12:10 PM, I called again, went through all the formalities and was transferred to the fraud department once again now speaking to Hazel. Hazel could not go any further than Jerry did and transferred me to Joy. Hazel was accommodating and pleasant. It's now 12:30 PM, Joy comes on the phone after a fairly lengthy wait. Joy is not as nice as the other bankers spoken to nor could I understand her. Joy goes through the same process the other representative did and still was not satisfied despite correctly answering all the questions and redundantly giving my demographics. Joy attempts to call my phone on a call back system, which i do not have on my phone. The area I am is quite remote and Verizon does not offer call back in this area. Despite attempting to explain to Joy this, she stated because she could not call me on the call back system, she could not release my account and rudely hung up on me. 10 minutes later I call back again and this time two transfers later and another 20 minutes on hold I am serviced by John. Same process, same rendition, phone calls as well same results and transferred to another representative, another female whom I failed to get her name, does the same thing Joy did and rudely hangs up without cordialities. I give up at this point, not knowing what I can do to get my account and funds released. I am told I would have to have another phone number to validate my identity. My phone number on record is not valid and cannot be used. At 20:55 same day, I call again... I speak to Ella and give her my son's phone number. Once again, she cannot help me and sends me to another Jerry, going through the same process again, he attempts to call me despite an explanation not having call waiting, he cannot verify me and sends me on to Albert. Albert does all the same as the others and says to me because he cannot make the required call, I will have to touch base with my mobile phone provider to have the messaging service stopped and then call back for them to call me on call waiting?

On October 4, 2023, I call again and speak to Juan. Of course, he cannot help me and sends me to the Supervisor Jane. Jane basically completed the same actions of ALL the other representatives and providing two phone numbers of family members that according to the representative were not valid numbers. The end result because of not having call waiting and according to the representatives my phone numbers were not valid to validate my identity my account would remain restricted. I would receive a letter in the mail five to seven days with instructions and a code. Once received I would be expected to call in again with the information to get my account released. Jane was stern and not easily to discuss anything about my account or my identity. When she completed her explanation like the others she rudely hung up. This was an ugly experience. But what's far worse, my account held every penny I had. I did not have enough groceries to feed my family for the week waiting for the letter. I reiterate I understand the security approach to protect my account; however, not at the expense of causing suffering for my family or me.

Because of this experience, I will be closing my account. I am sure my pittance of funds and the loss of one customer makes no difference to Citibank. I am sure nothing will be done to improve the fraud process and customer service.

Polly Montano

Citibank Bank statement

Went to the CitiBank near me to request past bank statements. The woman who helped me explained that I could not get a copy there since my account was closed and that she would put in a request for me and I would receive it by email. Gave me a password and assured to me that everything would fine. They sent me the wrong statements. So I called the number that was provided and the guy said I had to go into the bank to get the statements. Which I already did and was told I can't get them in the bank. The guy was rude and wouldn't get me a supervisor. I hate talking to a machine.

Citibank KYC Compliance Inquirees

I have found the "Know Your Customer" inquirees of these past few weeks to be not only intrusive but not efficient. On a checking acct that my wife and I have had for about 50 years...she is getting personal questions and then is requested to give her full SSN, account number(s) with Citi and images of ID documents.

We have complied with these and transnitted information, but today had a long phone encounter with a rep from KYC unit where the person desired more information and was rude, not helpful and kept repeating her questions without listening to us as if we were idiots.

Tried calling the unit back to speak with someone else and after 5 attempts and being in phone queue 15 min+ each time, we gave up.

Honestly, we are seriously considering terminating our banling replationship with Citibank after all these many years,

Desired outcome: SINGLE set of further questions from KYC unit inside an encrypted message that we know is secure.

Citibank Service on a complaint made

About two months ago I had a change of over $400 on my account from Wayfair. It was a change that I did not make or authorize. I call the fraud department and was helped very quickly and requested and received a new credit card and they started the process of investigating. Several weeks after that a credit was issued on my card.

Now yesterday I received an email indicating I had a new communication. I looked at it today and it said that Wayfair had provided information that the change was legitimate, and my account was now being changed the over $400.

I called the fraud line and was told the same thing the letter said, and I was insistent they continue to research. They agreed.

My complaint is that once i got off the phone I looked at the information Wayfair sent to Citi's fraud department in their response and it gave the name of the person who made the order, their email address and IP address from the computer. In addition they said they had verification if was delivered to the address. Well it didn't take me long to see that the name on the order was not mine. The email address used was not may email address. The IP address of the computer was in a different state and to make matters worse the FedEx tracking number was listed and it was an address in Roseville Michigan. I live in Tennessee and have never lived or been to Roseville Michigan. I seems to me that if I can do this research very quickly that your fraud department should have been able to do this also and not just go on the fact that the merchant said it was legitimate.

Desired outcome: I would like my credit done immediately and I would also like to be debited 50,000 miles on my mileage account.

Citibank Diamond preferred citi

I am writing about an issue that I attempted to pay a tuition amount of $630.00 to Mumbai University, India. My daughter is going to school in India and i was to pay the tuition by 9/16/2023.

I made three attempts and they all failed despite getting a code on my phone to verify.

I called the customer service and she advise me to speak with Fraud department. I spoke with Sally on 9/16/2023 , after verifying Sally advised me to make another attempt while she is on the phone. Unfortunately, fifth attempt also failed. She advised me to try after 24 hours.

Obviously i made an attempt on 9/17/2023 while failed.

I have been calling them again and again and each call is an hour long approximately.

What is more frustrating is today i called and representative could not answer my question as to why this transaction continuously failing. He then transfer me to his manager Juan who hang up on my after he assumed that i am not being professional.

I called back again, and representative advised me that the account in under review and i will get

a letter in a mail which i should sign and return back to Citi Credit.

This is absolutely unacceptable that i am frustrated to make a tuition payment and they have block my card. They will release it later in 15 -20 days but its not good for me.

Please suggest.

Citibank Customer Service providing incorrect information

I recently reached out to Citi advising them, I could not have an auto debit taken from my checking account on 9/11 due to an expected deposit arriving later.

I was told my payment would be moved to the latter part of the month. I stated more than a few times that if it came out on the 11th it would bounce. The Citi rep claimed she understood and need not be concerned.

The payment came out on the 11th..and my bank charged me 36.00 for the return.

Lesson learned: Don't trust what the reps tell you.

You owe me 36.00..I also want a letter to show my bank, I called you guys about this issue and was misled. This is due to the fact I have never been overdrawn. You embarrassed me in front of my bank.

Desired outcome: Stated above

Citibank Checking account closure

Citibank processed three stop payments as disputes which I stressed were not disputes but double payments for the same service as the merchants were charging for renewals and I wasn't aware so I paid as well. I just needed the payments stopped.

Citi filed these as disputes and then locked me out of my account for excessive disputes and fraud on the account. I stressed repeatedly that this was my doing.

Citi claimed that all ACH payments or any withdrawals would be denied or returned. Instead, they continued processing these.

They will not release my funds or reconsider their decision to close the account even with all the recorded calls as evidence.

They will not give me access to my funds including those which were deposited once they locked down the account.

They have lied, misled, misprocessed, and are quite rude

Desired outcome: Immediate release of funds from my account

Citibank Discrimination

I am willing to make arrangements to pay-off my credit card bill; however, it appears you only work with the folks who are facing hardships. It's nice that you help those who do not pay their bills to avoid bankruptcy; however, I have been a great client who has made my payments on-time every time in the past as well as on-going. Stop helping the less fortunate and take in consideration that we are all here just trying to get our next paycheck to make our payments on-time. It is considered discrimination when you help those who are unable to pay; however, do not consider the ones who were your best customers. I will never barrow from Citibank again in my lifetime; that you will be assure of. I have also hired a lawyer to look further into my compliant as it is defiantly valid regarding discriminating against those who pay bills on-time.

Desired outcome: $500 Discount on pay-off

Citibank Miles offer for credit card use never received

About March this year I started receiving SILVER oversize envelopes from Citi Cards AA offering the Platinum Elite credit card. I am already a Citibank credit card holder, so I called to ask if this was an upgrade for the existing card as the offers stated that if I expend 4500,00 in 90 days I would received 75000 miles with AA.

The operator was very clear that this was a new card and credit line and I was already eligible to receive miles again as I had closed the previous Platinum Credit Card account with Citibank in 2019.

Today when I called to ask when I will see my miles reflected on my account the operator was fast and short saying: you enrolled days before the 48 months period necessary for a new bonus account and for that reason you will not received your points. When I told him that I was not going after a new credit card and the only reason I agree with the new account was because they offered this bonus by mail and confirmed by phone. For my surprise the attendant asked me to show proof of the marketing envelope that was sent to my address in April/ May. I told him that I don't keep junk mail and the reason I was checking on the points was because I did called to finalize the offer application on the phone. He said that he can't do anything if I can send him back the invitation that I received with their phone number and offer code. As a consolation he would be able to offer me 5000 miles. I see this is a very big SCAM to open lines of credit for former clients that they know will use and pay their bills. I see how wrong this is to offer me to open a new line of credit days before the waiting period is over so they would not have to issue the bonus to the client.

Desired outcome: I want my miles as promised . My husband and I DID NOT need another line of credit with Citibank as we are already customers with their credit cards.

Citibank Locked account no solution found nor any assistance from employees

Elizabeth Ramos

242 North Sutter Street Unit 803

Stockton, CA 95202

[protected] Home

[protected] Cell

[protected]@gmail.com

Dear Citibank,

I am writing to formally request immediate repayment of the outstanding amount of $75,647 owed to me. This demand letter is a result of the ongoing issue I have experienced with my account ending in xx-5820, which began shortly after I opened it with your bank in June.

Initially, I had no issues accessing my account and its funds after successfully verifying my identity. However, the problem arose when I updated my address due to relocation. Subsequently, my account was locked for a verification process. Despite being assured that a verification letter was sent to my registered address on July 13th, I have not received it despite it being sent out thrice.

In my attempts to rectify this situation, I have provided a verifiable phone number, made in-person visits to local branches to update my contact information, and engaged in dialogue with various customer service representatives, including supervisors and the fraud department. Unfortunately, these efforts have failed to yield any resolution. Moreover, my requests to close my account have been denied, leaving my funds completely inaccessible.

The consequences of this issue have had a significant impact on my personal life. It has prevented me from undertaking necessary travel for medical surgery, hindered the care I can provide to my children, and hindered the timely payment of outstanding bills. The unavailability of my personal funds due to this account hold has created an extreme hardship for me.

Multiple reminders have already been sent to address this matter; however, no satisfactory resolution has been reached. Therefore, I demand full access to my account or repayment of the owed amount within 10 business days from the date of receipt of this letter. Failure to comply with this demand will leave me no choice but to pursue legal action to recover the funds owed to me.

I trust that Citibank will take this matter seriously and promptly resolve the issue by releasing my funds within the specified time frame. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated, as it is my hope to avoid any further escalation.

I look forward to receiving a timely response and prompt resolution to this matter. Should you require any additional information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the above address.

Desired outcome: Requesting account being unlocked and/or account closure and remaining funds issued via check

Citibank Savings

Citibank declined opening a new savings account using a credit company called Chexsystems. When I contact Chexsystems they say they have no derogatory information and see no reason a new savings account would be declined. Citibank and Chexsystems both utilize Call Centers in India for "Customer Service". Neither are equipped to provide ANY Customer Service and they are very difficult to understand on the phone. Both tell you they have no management people to contact and have no way to resolve my issue let alone tell me what the issue is. I have excellent credit scores (AND it should be noted I have 2 Citibank credit cards) but when I want to deposit funds they refuse me an account. Both company representatives point fingers at each other and neither company will make any attempt to resolve whatever this glitch is. It is infuriating to say the least.

Desired outcome: Resolve the issue to my satisfaction and open a savings account

Citibank Fraud dept.

I wish Costco was still with AMEX!

After a $1000 charge (which was legit) Citibank decides to decline it out of the blue!

They send 2 texts asking if it is an approved charge- I answer "yes".

After calling I find out despite the text and the call it had been declined "just in case".

Here is the issue- this was an important purchase for a University for a medical program. A computer bought with school info being loaded. Not so easy to just recharge. And my time is wasted on all of this.

I WANT AMEX BACK!

Citibank Citibank banking not transferring money to requested account

I've been trying to transfer money out of my Citibank savings account to an external account unsuccessfully since last Saturday (a week ago). I've spoken to 5 different Citbank customer service representatives by phone, with each one giving me a different reason why it wouldnt work. 1) I needed a new ATM number (they expedited me a new card). When that didn't work, 2) It's a problem with my receiving bank. (it wasn't) 3) It's a problem with the Plaid 3rd party transfer app: it'll be fixed by tonight (it wasn't) 4) Give it another 24 hours (we did). Finally, the 5th customer service agent admitted that this was a Citi-wide incident and that the only way we could get our money was to wire it. So we initiated a wire transfer on two days ago and we got 3 different contact requests yesterday asking us to provide more information to ensure the transfer wasn't "fraudulent." I responded to all 3. The money STILL has not arrived into the wired account and is "pending." My money is being held hostage by Citibank.

Desired outcome: Successful release of the money that has been wired to my outside account from my Citibank savings account.
