Burger King review: $5 croissan'wich meal for 2 on telephone app "offers"

We quit going to Burger King in the morning for breakfast because the hash browns were always either raw & oily soggy or overcooked to the point there was no soft middle only dry & crispy hard. We started going to Hardees in the morning instead.

We did go to Burger King & take advantage of your 2 for $5 Whopper deal a couple of days ago. While we were there we saw one of your managers who said they wondered why we hadn't been coming there in the mornings.

This morning we decided to go by for your $5 breakfast for 2, that is supposed to include 2 Croissan'wich's, 2 small hash browns & 2 BK Coffees. (My husband doesn't drink coffee so he asked if he could substitute his coffee with a small diet coke... which they have always done in the past.)

First of all, we noticed there was no "morning greeting" (i.e. Good Morning, welcome to Burger King..."No smiles when we got up to the window. Clearly it was an imposition for us to bother them & they showed us just how much of and imposition by over charging us! When it came time to pay we were quoted $6.30. (That's $1.30 in taxes? Tax here in Joplin is 8% so our bill should have been $5.40) When we questioned this, a young man took my cellphone to see the coupon & the coupon #, went thru & took my husbands credit card & said"Ok... everything is right now & asked us to pull forward."When he came out with our order my husband asked what we were charged and the boy answered"6.30.."I asked how that can be when the coupon says $5?" To which he replied, "I don't know... but that's what it said, so thats what we charged, everything was charged correctly." We took the food & pulled away. I started looking for the receipt in the bag to see what exactly were were being charged for... no receipt was given!

We received: 2 sausage Croissan'wiches which were only so-so the sausage on both sandwiches was hard and almost burnt, 2 raw hash brown orders... potatoes were so raw & they did not even hold together when we picked them up, 1 barely lukewarm coffee that tasted like the pot had been turned off & it had been sitting for awhile, and 1 small diet coke.

I had to throw the hash browns in the air fryer when we got home to finish cooking them so at least they would be edible. I tried warming the coffee in the microwave, but even with that - it was then warm... it still tasted bad.

This is has refreshed our memories as to why your breakfast is no longer even a consideration when we are deciding where to go get breakfast from. Hardees has you beat on breakfast, hands down.
