This company stole €1,500 from me. I booked and fully paid for a car rental through EconomyBookings (supplier: Alamo, France). At the counter, I was refused the vehicle and personally humiliated by staff, who falsely claimed my card “didn’t work.”

Proof this was a lie: exactly 5 minutes after being refused by Alamo, I used the SAME card to rent a car from Sixt — no issues at all. This proves beyond doubt that my card was valid and the refusal was fabricated.

Instead of refunding me, EconomyBookings kept my reservation marked as “active” for 15 days, as if I were using the car, and then refused to refund the full amount, citing a bogus “no-show” clause — even though I was physically standing at the counter ready to take the car.

This isn’t an isolated case — read other reviews. This company takes prepayment and then finds any excuse not to return it.

Do not book with this company. Your money is at risk.
