I recently had a phone call with a representative named Omari and it was like talking to a brick wall. I tried to explain that I have health issues that make it so I can’t even travel anymore and that this whole thing has zero value compared to the mountain of money they want from me. Do you think he cared? Not one bit.
During the sales talk, they looked me in the eye and told me Bluegreen had a buyback program. They also told me that if I upgraded, it would make my ownership easier to sell later on. Well, Omari tells me today that "no such program exists." He basically told me my only choices were to pay off the whole mortgage balance, use the points I can’t travel to use anyway, or just default. When I told him the sales reps lied to me about my maintenance fees going down and promised me special benefits, he actually tried to flip it on me! He acted like I was making it up and told me their reps are "trained not to lie." Give me a break here. Then he has the nerve to ask if I read every word of the contract. I told him directly I’m not an attorney! I’m older and those contracts are written to be confusing for people my age! I asked to speak to a supervisor or anyone who actually had the heart to help me get out of this, but he refused to even pass me through. It’s totally backwards. They will hound you for hours in a presentation until you’re too tired to say no, but the second they got your name on that line - poof- they disappear. They don't take any accountability for what their salesmen say. They only care about hounding you for payments and wiping your pockets dry.
Recommendation: If your thinking about getting involved with these people run the other way!!
