Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Closed my account because

I have closed my Truist Account.

I was a very happy Sun Trust customer for over 15 years.

Your name is dumb and made up.

Really! Combining Blue and Red to get Purple... How woke of you : (I think your commercials are beyond the pale of stupid. Whoever thought a rolling ball of stuffed animals was "caring" needs to be fired. I don't want you to hover over me with an umbrella in case of a car splash... I want you to be focused on money and customer service.

You closed my branch so I am closing you.

Desired outcome: Go back to the way things were. Your merger is awful. At the very least think about how infantile, condescending and ephemeral your current approach to customers is. Most of us are not children, woke or idiots.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Consistently lies to me

This morning, I will call Truist for the 8th time over the past 3 months to ask yet again for a letter stating I do not owe them money for my vehicle. I took out a car loan from SunTrust in 2011 and paid it off in 2018. I never received a lien release letter from them. Now, I'm trying to sell my car and since I live in Maryland, I can't sell it unless I have a lien release. I've called Truist 7 times so far and every time, I've been told that the letter is being mailed, and it never comes. I'm so incredibly frustrated at this point. The buyer for my vehicle has backed out because it's taken so long for me to deliver the lien release. The last time I called, I was told the Truist system kept cancelling out the requests for the letters because it's such an old loan and it was made through SunTrust. So the rep told me he was personally drafting a letter to be sent to me. That was 2 weeks ago. This is unprofessional, disrespectful, and abhorrent. Never, ever again will I do business with Truist. I'm a hair's width away from parking the car at the nearest Truist branch, putting the title on the windshield, and leaving a note stating it's their problem now. Horrific.

Desired outcome: I want the letter. Now.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) They Won't Cash a Legitimate Check Even Though I Was in a Branch Last Week!

July 2022. I went into a branch to put a beneficiary on my checking account. This took forever, but that's not my main complaint. My main complaint is that a couple of days later I opened a CD in another institution and wrote a large check on my Truist account to fund it. Now I get a call saying my account is "dormant," they won't approve the check, and I have to go in to a branch and show ID! I can't go in--I'm out of town for a long time now. And I was just in a branch two days ago adding a beneficiary to my account! Not a word from the woman who (very inefficiently) handled that transaction about the account being "dormant." She had the account open and looked at it for a long time, checked my ID, etc. And not a word about it being "dormant." This is easily the worst bank I have ever done business with, and I've done business with plenty. I intend to take all my money out of there, but they are certainly making that difficult as well, by blocking access to my own money. This is inexcusable.

Desired outcome: Honor my check. There is more than enough money in the account. Activate my account immediately and stop playing tricks to keep me from my own money.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Fraud

In January 2022 I had someone fraudulently take almost 5,000 dollars from my account. I went to the Suntrust branch at South Dekalb in decatur ga to see what was going on. They closed the account filed a claim and gave me new account to put the rest of my money in. They told me the (Fraud Department) that they would have it resolved in thirty days. Well fast forward to this day and I still have not recieved my money or a answer to what happened and whats going on. I have called and went to the branch several times and all the could tell me was their still investigating. This is six months later and im still getting the run around. And they way the money came out it looks like a inside job. Even after demanding to talk to there boss she told me it will take another 15 days after she personally tried to handle herself to get it resolved. If it is not resolved by the 15th of this month I will be suing Truist, filling a complaint with bbb and going to news media.

Desired outcome: I want my money that was stolen from me

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Poor communication

I discovered fraud on my account 6-18-22. Called the fraud department and completed the necessary paperwork and a hold was placed on this account. 6-23-22 received letters from fraud department indicating the case was resolved and monies refunded. Was advised to visit local branch to have hold removed. This is where communication is dire. The local branch advised they could not remove hold only fraud could. Of course called back to fraud and the answer was reversed and the local branch was responsible. In addition the fraud representative was nice enough to provide the indemnity form so that I could sign to release the bank of any liability once account was off hold. Of course the local branch didn't know about form and stated it would be submitted to the BOP. I followed up again in person today and of course the form has been submitted but the timeliness for a response can vary. This is unacceptable especially when there is ambiguity between departments. Meanwhile I cannot access my business account and meet my financial obligations. This process has been very frustrating and reprehensible. There does not seem to be a sense of urgency to resolve this critical issue as evidenced by the miscommunication. I have been a customer since 2012 and I have never experienced this style of culture. I understand issues can arise however not being able to access your business funds is very alarming. If this is the type of service I can expect when issues arise, I will have to revisit why I should continue to bank with this institution.

Desired outcome: Please remove this hold so I can access my business funding.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Managers (people sitting behind desks)

I was already upset that my payment was applied to wrong account. I walk in bank and greeted by 2 people behind their desks, one was on her phone the other wouldn't even get up from her desk. I explained what was going on and one not on the phone made up all kinds of BS. Didn't even say come over here and we will figure this out. Still no customer service of any kind. I walked up to the counter because I knew they had no interest in helping. The very nice and helpful young man Leo Lopez was the best. He easied my mind and answered every question I had. Leo has great customer service. The other 2 need classes.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Overdraft fees

Truist bank has been nothing but a nightmare financial institution. I signed up for what I thought was a “free checking” account with a bank that claimed to have my best interests in mind. As it turns out, this was not the case.

I’ve been charged a $36 overdraft fee 4 times since Trusit bank announced that they will be eliminating and phasing out overdraft fees for checking account customers in January 2022.

Overdraft fees posted to my account on:

March 29th $36

April 4th $36

April 5th $36

may 9th $36

Two of these overdrafts were not related to a transaction over $5, and one of them was a charge from eBay to refund a customer - yet I got hit with an overdraft fee.

I also noticed getting charged misc. international fees on multiple statements, and a $7 monthly maintenance fee that i wasn’t aware of. This is quickly becoming a very expensive checking account that has not done anything positive for me.

I have overdraft protection turned off and my card set to decline any charges for which I cannot afford. How come these overdrafts were charged when the transactions were not related to POS or reoccurring bill payments?

My card is constantly declined and frozen whenever I use it myself. Like at a gas station or to make a payment for my health insurance premium. However, truist gladly gives vendors free reign to overdraft my account as they please!

I was an account holder with suntrust bank for 11 years but I’m about ready to close my account and take my business elsewhere.

Desired outcome: Refund of overdraft fees ($144), monthly maintenance fee ($7) , and international payment fees ($1.20)

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Lien Release

Car was sold 5/23/2022. Was made aware Suntrust had a Lien on the car when attempting to transfer title. Spoke with the bank on 5/23/2022 and they advised I would need to submit a fax. Time expectation because they were behind was 15 days. The fax was fixed with fax confirmation on 5/23/2022 and faxed multiple times. I forwarded all supporting documentation to a Truist Representative and no response. I am attaching all supporting documentation.

I attempted to take to local branch and was told they have no access to the information. The FDIC recommendation is your local branch.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Lost check

Truist was sent a pay off check from title company for one hundred and fifty thousand dollars after I sold my house on 6:10 2022

The check arrived as they don’t except wire transfers it was overnighted and showed delivered.

It was never put into the system and lost Truist policy being back room stuff takes 5 days to process we were not informed of this until my account shows overdrawn with bank charges.

Several days later the title company as requested send a copy via e mail.

No response to this I get another statement saying I’m 2 payments behind.

Sitting in a motel waiting to buy another house with my screen shot saying I’m 2 payments behind Is just what any house buyer wants.

If you have any dealings with Truist bear in mind this happens a lot and if it needs to be put right it takes a month or more.

Desired outcome: To get the check found payed off my account To warn others

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) atm card

I have my personal checking account with your bank as does my mother. However, I am named on her checking account also. On June 4 I thought I lost my ATM card so I called the 800 number immediately to report it. The girl on the phone was very inept and had a difficult time understanding the difference between the accounts but I thought she finally had it. This occurred on June 4 so I am sure there is a recording of it on your end. I have come to find out that my mother's name was also put on my new ATM card and so my personal bills have been coming out of her account actually beginning before June 4 to the tune of $3000. I went into my branch today and they told me because I dealt with someone on the phone and not the branch there was nothing they could do. I feel that is VERY wrong in the fact that it is Truist Bank who I did business with so everyone is a representative of the bank. The branch is not taking any action to right their mistake and this is abhorrent. If a corporation screws up, they pay the price. So should a bank, no matter who the customer talks to. You are all representatives of the same entity.

Desired outcome: I feel that the bank should reimburse either all or part of the money that was taken out in error as it was the bank's fault, not mine. I implore you to listen to the recording on June 4 and see the horrible time I had

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Gap insurance

I traded my vehicle on April 6, 2022. The Gap insurance was canceled that day. I am due a refund of $447.03. I received a letter from Truist May 8, 2022 that the release of interest document has been sent showing the balance paid in full.

On May 26, I spoke with Diamond. She supposedly reissued a request for the payment/refund draft.

On June 14, I called and spoke with Camilla. She investigated and told me the refund check had be cashed. I advised her it was not cashed by me and she agreed to get with her back office support to track down the information.

On June 23, I called and spoke to Connie. There were no notes on my account so she had to investigate again. She was told to have me call the Product Cancelation group at [protected]. No one would answer and no operator available.

I tracked all calls on my Iphone. May 26 call was 48 minutes holding for help, June 14 call I was waiting for help for 58 minutes. June 23 call I was waiting for 78 minutes then on the phone with Connie for 86 minutes and still no resolution. This is beyond unacceptable.

Desired outcome: I am demanding my refund as well as a copy of the checking showing it was cashed.

My auto loan with Truist Bank was paid off on May 2,2023! The dealership where I purchased my vehicle from sent Truist Bank a GAP REFUND check in the amount of $747.97 on June 15,2023 that Truist cashed on June 28,2023, but they(Truist Bank )are telling me that Truist can hold my GAP REFUND for as long as they want because of where I live! I need to know how is this right when Truist Bank has been paid the money to refund it to me the consumer? The way I see it it's not coming out of their pocket so why not send it to where it belongs!

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) Fraud in checking account, and bill pay

I am a on Social Security and a Retired SunTrust employee. I have had this account for over 30 years and never had a problem before. On 6/5/22 I noticed two pending transactions totaling $1000.00 in my checking account. The transactions were dated 6/4. I immediately called the bank and was told that I could not dispute the charges until they posted to the account. While on the phone the bank suggested that I close the debit card to stop any other transactions. I closed the debit card and immediately made a police report. As soon as the charges posted I called back to make the fraud report. At this time there were two transactions of $500 and $504 dollars supposedly made with a debit card that I had in my possession at all times. One was made at a local Walgreens and the other at Walmart Superstore. Before each transaction a balance inquiry was made at an ATM. In spite of the debit card being cancelled, 10 days later $1000.00 was taken out of my granddaughters account using Zelle. We reported this 2nd theft. I was told that I just needed to cancel the debit card to stop more theft and advised to not close the accounts. So now my family is out of $2000.00 which may not be a lot for some people but for us its significant. Two days after I filed the first report I get a form letter signed by no one stating that the bank had conducted an investigation and determined these charges were authorized and I would not be getting $2000.00 returned. The first Two of the charges were made at Walmart and Walgreens where there are cameras and sales receipt records. ATM inquires were made at ATMs where there are cameras. A $500 purchase at a local Walgreen is unusual enough to draw attention. So supposedly in 2 days the fraud department pulled footage from these numerous cameras, got copies of dated and time stamped receipts from Walgreens and Walmart's, talked to the local Walgreens staff and sent me a letter denying my claim. This leads me to believe that there was no credible investigation. I am very disappointed in a Truist bank I trusted. My family is out of $2000.00 and I am determined that I will not be defrauded, 1st by a thief and then by Truist bank. So I will be writing letters to state and federal officials. I will be continuously posting on social media. I will be passing out flyers near the bank but not on bank property trying to protect other banking consumers. This is not fair and should not be legal.

Desired outcome: Return of $2000.00 plus ATM fees, a thorough investigation, prosecuting the thieves and an apology from the bank for insinuating that a customer of 30 years would suddenly attempt to defraud Truist/SunTrust Bank.

Truist Bank (formerly BB&T Bank) No access to my checking account funds

I live in the UK and have rental properties in Florida from which I take income. Years ago I setup wire transfers with Suntrust Bank and received the alphanumeric pin and got a repeat code for international transfers to my Forex broker. Calling their wire ops and using my codes was quick and easy. I was

concerned with the effect of the merger with Truist but everything seemed smooth. Until April. When I called to initiate my usual repeat wire I was redirected to the new Truist wire operations department but

it appears the system has changed and I now require a new 6 digit phone wire profile and corresponding pin. This is where the 'fun' began. Over the first week in April week I called 27 times and spent a total of

over 7 hours on calls in an attempt to apply for these new access codes, but their system constantly throws me out as it does not recognise my lack of SSN, (as a non US resident I do not have one just an ITIN), tells me I'm transferring to an operator and then cuts me off. If I try the wire numbers (retail or Treasury) I can't get past not having a pin to speak with someone. On the rare 3 occasions I finally managed to talk to an associate they didn't know what to do either and I've been transferred around everywhere in circles. The last call was with a lovely lady in Treasury who tried and tried to find this information for 2 hours and 13 minutes before transferring me in desperation and...the number was"unavailable in my location". I've now tried 8 separate telephone numbers in the process. I used webchat and called my Florida branch and no one there could help at all either. I even tried to contact Corporate headquarters but again ran into an automated menu with no option to speak with anyone directly. I emailed their CEO directly, their investor relation and even their media department but all were ignored. So, 9th May I made a physical branch visit as I was in DC and spent 2.5 hours with a Senior

Relationship banker as he tried to assist. I left him for another 2 hours working on it and went to lunch. On my return he informed me that Truist does not have phone wire transfer facilities for "ordinary" retail clients only for business and hi net worth accounts. Everyone else has to go into a branch (from Europe!?) He then explained he had managed to contact the department that services hi net clients and they would make an exception for me. I signed the authorisations that day and flew back to the UK. That was nearly 2 months ago and I STILL have had no contact from anyone in

Truist to give me the required wire profile code and pin to enable me to access my funds. This is the only way I can get at my money and Truist do not care, in effect they are knowingly obstructing me access to my funds for months now. I am seeling some of my property portfolio in the next 6 months so there will be a relativley large ammounts of funds flowing into the account nthat I will need to access in a timely fashion so that I can take advantage of favourable FX rates and be able to fund my existance!

Desired outcome: Immediate access to the required wire profile and pin (plus the correct phone number to use) that I can use on the telephone to make my normal regular wires.
