Walmart review: 48ft led rope light

I have purchased a total of three 48ft rope light sets, all model #BHG-0054-0004NN, in Daylight color, for $34.78 each. They were purchased at the Walmart store in Sanford, FL.

All three sets of lights that I purchased have failed. The first two sets were connected to span a 60-foot outdoor application. Even after extra waterproofing measures were taken by taping the junction with tape, the ends connecting them fried, then one set slowly died out.

In April of 2025, I took the burned set back to Walmart for an even exchange, but I was denied and told, "Walmart does not exchange merchandise anymore, nor do they refund electrical items", even though my receipt was dated within the 90-day warranty specified in the enclosed literature. I was forced to purchase another set to replace them. At the register, I requested that my receipt be texted to my phone, but when I got to the parking lot, I realized I never received the text! It was now after closing time, but I was able to reach a store associate on the phone. I was told that because I paid CASH this time, it would be impossible to find the transaction to have my receipt re-texted!

Well, shortly thereafter, the others failed as well, so I lost the $100 I had paid for them because Walmart did not care to honor your warranty and simply allow an even exchange. I am stuck with 3 sets of non-useable rope lights that cost way more than they were worth, and I have no recourse to fix this situation. I am aware the enclosed receipt is from April and is beyond 90 days at this point, but I had given up on trying to fix the problem, and some time has passed now.

I decided to give it one last shot and go over Walmart's head and contact BHG directly. I truly hope that was the right choice and I didn't just flush $100.00 down the drain! I really appreciate anything you can do to help me recoup my investment in your product.
