Dollarama Cashier refused my $20.00 dollar bill

Cashier refused my $20.00 dollar bill it had a little cut in it. She said it was ripped she could not take it cause the bank would not take it. I said it just needs a little tape. She refused it. It was the store at 1591 Wilson Ave. Toronto Ontario. This 20.00 bill was given to me as change from the No frills next door. I had gone there to do some grocery shopping I asked to talk to manager she was not available. I contacted customer service. I still have not received any feedback. So I am posting here to let everyone know

Dollarama High volume dance music

Feb 13 /24 Why does Colborne St W. Brantford play high volume dance music when all the other Dallorama's have soft, easy listening background music? Does Dallorama not have rules /policy about music volume and the type? Large Chains usually have a policy. It was so annoying (yet again) we left with leaving merchandise still sitting in a cart. We're not spending our money there. We then drove to 50 Market St S. were we could hear our self talk. It's in a rough (high crime) part of Brantford but it's still better than the high school atmosphere of your West Brant store. Please tell your manger to consider the customer, grow up and act like an adult. Thank you

Dollarama Employer ‘s attitude

Novembre 4th evening. Bought full cart of things I needed but couldn’t find or was wondering if you carried sos pads.

The very cordial cashier (her first shift at your store)referred me to another more experience worker and apologized for not knowing if you carry it I told her no worries.

So I asked in a very polite and normal tone for the article as mentioned above.

Got a bit annoyed when she answers I don’t speak French in an not so pleasant

Tone.

Sos pads French !

P.S. majority of locals speak mostly French and English as a 2nd language.

Dollarama roblox gift card

I bought a 25$ gift card for my daughter and it doesn't work. It says the code is invalid. They gave me a 1-800 number to call and I haven't been called back yet. My daughters distraught because she wanted to get a limited thing on her game and now it isn't available. I am very upset that my money has been wasted and nothings being done about it. It would have been fine if the card was activated but it is not. It was supose to be a fun day for my kids and now its officially ruined. Thx I have a very unhappy little girl!

Claimed loss: 25$

Desired outcome: I either get my 25$ back or they get the card to work for my daughter or they give her a card to make up for the one that isn't working.

Dollarama Terrible quality of foods!! Microbial spoilage on foods!!

Bought a teacake snack from DOLLARAMA. The food was damaged with MICROBIAL SPOILAGE! We happened to consume a piece without noticing the damage & this caused us health problems and stomach issues. Food items should be specifically watched out for their shelf life! Items that are beyond their SHELF LIFE should be THROWN OUT/RECALLED and should not be out in the aisles FOR SALE!

I hope you understand the seriousness, disappointment and the horror along with the health issues this has caused us! This should be watched out with severe attention!

Dollarama Manager rude to customers and employees.

I brot my bike in the store so int would not get stolen and my back pack. Thy bid not have any proper bike racks on the property. The nice laty said I culd lev it ahead of the tills. The managers rotten attitude towards her employee no one is aloud to have there bikes in the store the manager was very rood about it well I was trying to explain why, I bib it. Ignoring me while I was asking her for her name then telling me she does not have to give her name to me. Well I asked for here name because I am poting a complat on her. If she came to me and just told me no bikes are aloud in the store I would have left and went back a nother time...

Dollarama Cleaning product

I was just back from dollerama today and bought a few things I got a Uber home and when I took the things out the bag the lid had not been on the comet properly, the dollerama bag was soaked through also bulb boxes soaked and all the items including my hoodie from jack Jones pictures are included , I am also hoping that the Ubers car is okey as the comet as you know is bleach

Dollarama Check out

Dollarama seems to be wanting people to check themselves out. Many of us don’t like to check ourselves out we like to be checked out by a cashier.

A friend of mine was at the Fairview mall location in Saint Catherine’s yesterday and they wouldn’t check her out at the counter. They told her they weren’t allowed to, and she had to go through the self-serve. They told her what to do, but they wouldn’t help her, do you know how many customers you’re going to lose? This is ridiculous.

Earlier this week I was at the same Dollarama, the manager was behind the counter and she called somebody up. She stood there the whole time, waiting for the other person to come, and she stayed the whole time I was being checked out, but it must’ve taken them 10 or so minutes to get up there to check me out. I felt like they didn’t want me to go through the checkout.

Dollarama Crocs… wrong price

Today I visited the Dollarama in Carbonear Newfoundland. I picked up 2 pairs of men’s crocs priced at 4.00. At the self checkout they rang up as 4.75. I called the assistant manager over to have her fix the price. She told me it was the store policy to only fix 1 price. When asked why it was priced at 4 but rang up as 4.75 she said “I guess human error”. Theses crocs were already prepriced on the item itself not with a sticker. I asked for a number that I could call to file a complaint and was told “ I don’t know what that is, guess you’ll have to look it up online.” Wondering how often this happens without a shopper noticing. Terrible

Desired outcome: If an item is priced at a certain amount make sure the customer is able to purchase it for that amount and an apology for being spoken to in such a rude manner. Terrible customer service! [protected]@yahoo.com

Dollarama Personal/manager

Hi, yesterday my 11-year-old daughter and her 13-year-old friend were harassed in the Dollarama store. I gave them $20 to spend on whatever they wanted while I was shopping in another store nearby, and after 15 minutes, I came to pick them up. When they came out of the store, they were shaking from stress and fear. They had been waiting in line to purchase their items, which included little bags with surprise toys that they were going to pay for. Since they couldn't wait to see what toy they would get, they started picking into the bags, making little holes to peek inside. At that moment, the manager approached them in a very rude, aggressive, and offensive manner, calling them thieves and shouting at them to leave the store immediately. They were extremely stressed out and explained to him that they had money and were planning to pay for what they had chosen. He eventually allowed them to pay but still told them to leave. They were shaken by this harassment from a manager who clearly doesn't know how to treat underage kids. When I heard the story, I went to the store right away and spoke to the cashier about what happened. I told her that my kids were extremely stressed out by this event that occurred in Dollarama. The cashier didn't say much, but she wasn't rude like her coworker. However, an anonymous customer interrupted our conversation in a very rude manner and claimed that opening the boxes is considered a criminal offense. I highly doubt that's true, and even if it were, underage kids wouldn't fall under that law. Regardless, this is not the way to talk to underage kids, especially when they were shopping, had money to pay, and were not thieves. They were treated as criminals. The whole experience was rude, stressful, and disappointing. I left the store, and as I was leaving, I overheard the men and lady laughing together, which was so rude. I couldn't help but tell them that there was nothing funny about the situation. These guys should not be working there anymore, and they should face charges for harassing underage kids.

Desired outcome: Manager to get charges for this harassment and loose ability to work there any more. And ti apologize to lids in person for this behaviour.

Dollarama Chopper

I bought chopper in the morning and trued to use it when i went home. Th chopper was not chopping onions i put in that and keep getting stuck in the first use only. So that i stopped using that and went back to the store in the afternoon on the same day to return that as the product was defective. The manager told me i can not return the product. Please help me to get the exchange or return since the product is not worth the money at all i spent.

They sold us a can opener that doesn't work at all.. You don't save nothin buying there. It's not a good deal to spend 4$ on a can opener that's going straight in the trash can.. They sell defective trash from China and India and truly believe their customer should be on the hook to pay for defective products of theirs.. When they should be sending that shyt back to sender and recoop their money with the right people! I don't owe them shyt! It's not my responsibility to cover the cost of their defective inventory! They also sell lucky mobile cards and so many people have been scammed by that company. I don't ever suggest anyone buy those cards. And if you do go with lucky, do not sign up for automatic top up! They don't always provide service and refuse to cancel your card when you finally manage to get ahold of them and the customer care reps are extremely rude when you call and hang up when you're purpose of calling is cancelling their access to my account as they never provided services. It took a whole year to finally get them out and the bank refunded the 1100$ they took from us.. Total scam.. And their creams and personal care products are sketchy as heck.. You have no idea what went in those concoctions.. They sell knockoff versions of name brands so you're not getting the deal you thought you got lol

Dollarama has a no-return policy. I disagree with this because you are supposed to keep defective products. Even if you do get a refund do not get an exchange, because they are pretty much all the same. I mean I like shopping at Dollarama, they have pop for $1 while Walmart has it for $1.68, But do not get electronic items there. They are a fire hazard.

Dollarama Lack of customer service

The Latina cashier was very rude to the customer who was ahead of me in which I perceived the customer to have been a bit shaken up.

As I approached the cashier to be cashed out, she did not greet me, just asked if I wanted a bag and kept giving me stares. I’m not sure if it’s because I was the only Black person in the store but I certainly did not appreciate it.

My recommendation to your company is to train your employees to provide quality service to every customer. Perhaps you can invest in diversity training.

Dollarama Manager conduct, lifetime ban from store, refusal to serve

I recorded being thrown out of the store by the Manager (Crystal) and security.

I just recently found this video in my google photos. I wanted to report Crystal's conduct and treatment towards me but could not find this video.

I had a entire cart full of items I was about to purchase. I was decorating 2 children's rooms and needed the items to do so. One being a frozen theme and the other as a camping theme. Perfect time to do so following Christmas with all the snowflakes and pine cone decor in store.

I spent the entire morning picking out items, estimated $400 or more I was prepared to spend on the items in my overflowing cart.

I was approached aggressively by the Manager who demanded that I leave. She had been following Me around for hours. I had time to burn as I lived out of town and had to wait for my ride anyways so I took my time. I may have returned items back to the shelf , perhaps maybe in the wrong spot or not as neatly as I found them I do not recall...but because she was right at my tail snickering and belittling me to other employees it seemed to be occupying her from insulting any other patrons.

She demanded that I leave immediately for making a mess and made a scene in front of the entire crowded store. She exclaimed that no one spends 5 hours in the store. I corrected her as I had just done so having been in there just over five hours and wasn't finished shopping. I was then escorted to the cashier by security. Crystal had began taking things from my cart and returning them to the shelf. One item was a "cone" in which I wanted to purchase x4 of them. I asked the guard to retrieve it so I did have 4 not 3. He refused so as you can see in the video it escalated into a verbal altercation. As I was leaving the property Crystal asked the guard to give me a lifetime ban from the store. For taking too long shopping and "making a mess" .

I did not make a mess purposely, I did not know I had a time restriction on my day of shopping at dollarama. I was humiliated and belittled in front of a crowd of shoppers.

I've since spent my money at the Dollar tree. After finding this video I think it's important to report how I was treated that day. I'm aware it was years ago but that Manager still works there I was informed. Her unprofessional treatment to a paying customer (I spent a lot of money...and time in the store previously).

I will attach the video I took of my experience and the Managers unprofessional conduct and lack of customer service.

I have yet to report this to the BBB but now that I have the video I will if her poor treatment of a customer isn't acknowledged.

Dollarama Your staff not 100 % sure than called "I am a thief"

i was looking for the kitchen Turntable item,(i wen to store 2023/7/Mar employee said come back to morning maybe we will have this item) so i went back this morning At the time, i didn't see this item so i leave quickly.

at the time ,there were no customers in the store, only 2 other workers were change the light ,and the cashier was not at the work station,

I left the store and went to the parking lot. Your female employee opened the door and yell loudly, an old gentleman in the parking lot said SHE seemed to be calling ,so i turned back to the store ,the female staff was not there. still those 3 guys , the work said that the female staff though i stole something from your store .ii feel INSULTED.

1.Please think if i steal something and when she called me i will return back to your store ?

2.she's not at her desk is it okay to insult someone just by feeling?

3.she's not working ,just a gut feeling ?

4.you can also call the police ,or watch a surveillance camera?

5.i ask the man staff if you wanna check my bag welcome. he said it is ok i don't think so.

Dollarama Security

Hello I am a very regular customer at your store. Lately when I enter I have found that the sercurity guard is following me around the store. I find this to be rediculous. (kind of make me want to start stealing from you)
Typically I spend between 30-100 a week I really do no appreciate being followed (harassed) by you security guard.
Today this loser decided to stand behind me while I am looking at hot wheels.
If you make your customers uncomfortable they will stop shopping with you.
I should not have to wear a suit an tie when I walk in there, I work in a warehouse I dress poorly when I shop there. Stop profiling
I truly am offended.

Dollarama Security

I went in there and the security guy watched me like a hawk. Almost said something. Will probably never be back. Wish people would realize they are not cheaper most of the time. Their grocery quantities are usually smaller than the regular stores, making it more expensive in the long run. Also a lot of overpriced junk.

Desired outcome: lower prices, something they have never done.

I agree with one thing a lot of the stuff is junk, but not overpriced. I remember when we were younger our dad used to let us pick up one toy if we behaved. Most of the time they broke, but they do have good stuff.

Dollarama Customer service

Went to the Dollarama at Hillside Mall in Victoria, BC on January 20, between 11:30 am & 12:00 pm. I went to a self check out machine with a white light above it. Attempted to scan my first item and machine gave an error and red light came on. Looked toward the cashier who told me "you can't use that machine." Fine, went to another one, scanned all my items, clicked "pay". Got the same error message and the red light above me came on. Cashier finished with her customers, came over and reset two other self check out tills, looked at the red light above my head, looked at me, turned and walked away. Needless to say, I umpacked my bag, putting the items on the counter and left the store. I know stores are short staffed but shouldn't staff deal with people waiting for help rather than resetting machines nobody is using?

Dollarama Staff

Its the first time I had a horrible experience here as I come here almost every week for the past 3 years. I always come in with my emotional support dog just like I did today I was asked a few times about my dogs certificate as I have shown it in the past. Today some filipino lady who works here on sunday stops me and asks me to get out the store because dogs are not allowed. First of all there is no sign that that says that and second her tone and attitude was extremely horrible and rude. She didnt even give me a chance to speak as I told her I dont have it on me because I am a regular here and I didnt find it necessary to have it which I understand that I should at all times but then she tells me to get out very rudely! I asked for the manager and she said shes the manager… when I asked her name she denied to give it to me and then tells me shes the “assistant manager” so I didnt understand which one she was. I tried to be polite and said okay ill pay and leave and she tells me “no get out”!. She was laughing at me and completely targetting me. I have also heard that that she has sworn in front of little kids before. I dont know why they hire people like this who barely even speak english and claim and lie to be a manager. I asked for her name many times but shes like “I dont want to give you my name” how would I resolve this or even come back with paper evidence if I dont know her name?! Lol ill make sure to report to hr and definitely will let my friends and family know not to ever shop here again and go to the dollerama across the street instead. I deal with anxiety hence to why I have my little puppy with me and she harassed me alot and made me feel so uncomfortable and you know whats the funny part? She fully saw another lady holding a little dog and said absolutely nothing. Please stop hiring illiterate people like this who dont know how to respect or speak to customers.

Please read your reviews you have other customers complaining about her lying and claiming to be a manager. She didnt even give me the managers contact or name so I can speak to her. Absolutely disgusting.

Dollarama Employee needs to be more respectful

I live in the area and Dollarama on Parliament St Cabbagetown Toronto is my go to store for daily essential needs. There is a specific employee who works the cash register from time to time and works in the aisles other days, if I am not mistaken co-workers of hers call her by the name of Richelle. She is rude when not being given the right answers, argues with you when she gives back the wrong change, she is very verbally expressive when upset and is rude when asked were certain products are, she is always chit chatting and swears unconditionally around children. She has no respect for her bosses and pushes and name calls her co-workers. She is young and should no better to have manners dealing with customers. These are the type of people who shouldn’t be given chances.

Desired outcome: Be spoken to regarding her work ethic and the way she handles people.
