On numerous occasions, increasing in frequency over the past year, Walgreens have broken continuity of care for me with multiple prescribed medications for a variety of chronic illnesses I am diagnosed with.
Walgreens a) doesn’t answer calls (I’ve spend dozens of hours on the phone with them, just waiting for somebody, anybody, to pick up, often only to be hung up on or given an unsatisfactory answer), b) neglects to fill prescriptions because they’re “running behind,” or don’t have enough employees to function. I wait WEEKS without my medications regularly — medications I am NOT supposed to stop taking!
The Walgreens I am forced to go to is 100 N Randall Rd. in Lake In The Hills, Illinois. They have gone from not great but having a few decent pharmacists and assistants to abysmal — even dangerously negligent. I need my prescriptions filled when they are faxed or called in, or requested by app, in person, or over the phone. This just dimply does not happen in a timely manner anymore, if at all. If Walgreens is in this dire of straits, I wish they’d just call it a day and close their doors rather than endangering people’s lives by breaking important continuity of care.
Claimed loss: I have lost multiple days and weeks of time off of work, and personal suffering.
Desired outcome: Fix the problem or be honest that you are no longer in the business of filling prescriptions, because without doing one of the two, you are endangering lives.
