Rented from an independent. The dealer did not offer much of a transition process. I looked and I paid. It seemed clean inside and out without dents and compared to other trucks on the property. There was a spacer bar in the back that perfectly adjusted to the rails, and it was easy to assume it came with the truck. There also was damage to the top right corner of the truck box as if it might have dinged against an overhead obstruction. I did not see it.
When I returned it the person who inspected was simply awful. She immediately focused on the adjustable spacing bar and called it junk that I would have to pay to remove. I pointed out how seemingly appropriate it was for the box and how it was easy to assume it was supposed to be there, She thew it in a clash to the floor.
She continued her inspection and found the damage to the top part of the box. She admonished me as if I were lying to having not seen it before. It turns out pictures were available that pointed to the damage before I ever rented. The local independent dealer was rude to my wife when she reminded him how he expressed that he had not inspected the vehicle received and later called her a liar. It was later determined the damage occurred before we ever rented it. Through bad communications, I fell victim to fees over mileage and extra day charges.
Overall, because of my experience when speaking to someone else or if I need to rent again, I will explore other options.
