We have been to this IH 10 w SATX location for many years, since it opened. We hadn’t been in about a year but when we did 8-22-25, for dinner, 4:30 p.m., it was not too crowded at all. We were offered out table right away, and our server was excellent. The food came out in fair time and the food was good. NOTE: The overall service was good: The hostess, staff & especially the server, were very good.
Where we had a problem with, was the men’s restroom. It was filthy. No restroom ever, especially a restaurant restrooms should be in that condition. If the restrooms are like that, are the kitchens the same? Why don’t managers have the restrooms checked every hour. You pop your head in there or have someone do so, and see if it is clean. The trash can was over filled with paper towels all over the floor. The sinks were dirty and the toilets looked like they had not been cleaned in days. Unless the customer crowds that day were overwhelming, that caused the trash cans to be overfilled and towels all over the floor, and the toilets overused, that tells me that the restroom simply was not inspected during the day or management simply doesn’t care. And if this restroom is also for the staff, why didn’t anyone report this? Again, if management doesn’t care about the restrooms being clean, perhaps they don’t care either about the kitchen’s cleanliness. Next time, if we go again, and it is like this, I will contact the City Health department. Finally, and sadly, we brought guests there that had not been in years, and this is what they experienced. Cracker Barrel, you’re better than this.
Recommendation: If the restrooms are dirty, how’s the kitchen??
