The Brick – Fully Paid, Months of Delays, Poor Customer Service and No Accountability
In July 2026, my husband and I purchased six household appliances from The Brick, including a refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, and stove. We completed payment in August, trusting that a reputable national retailer would honour its commitments.
Unfortunately, what should have been an exciting experience furnishing our new home became months of frustration, inconvenience, and disappointment.
Our stove was only obtained after we visited the store and insisted on receiving the display model. The dishwasher and microwave eventually arrived after delays. We also had to select a refrigerator costing approximately $400 more than our original purchase.
For weeks, our family had no refrigerator. Imagine your young child asking for cereal and milk, and being unable to provide something so basic because you cannot safely store milk at home.
Without our laundry appliances, we have spent additional money visiting laundromats and relied on friends to wash our family's clothing.
Even more disappointing was the customer service. A sales representative suggested washing our clothes in the dishwasher and questioned why we paid upfront instead of using financing. These comments were insensitive and unprofessional. Our choice of payment method should never be questioned or used to dismiss legitimate concerns.
On October 8, 2026, we contacted the store again, only to discover that our outstanding delivery had been postponed yet again, without prior notification.
We understand that supply chain delays happen. However, repeated delivery postponements, inadequate communication, and the absence of meaningful solutions are unacceptable.
We have formally requested corporate intervention, immediate delivery, reimbursement of additional expenses, review of the $400 refrigerator difference, and appropriate compensation.
Customers should not have to beg for merchandise they have already paid for.
We fulfilled our financial obligations. Why has The Brick struggled to fulfil its commitments?
After months of inconvenience, we are not simply asking for another delivery date. We are asking for accountability, fair treatment, and a meaningful resolution.
Yes, they have good deals and good products but that should not give the right to treat the people that are making you profit; without us there is no you.
Our family deserved better.
Desired outcome: Justice for our family
