To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Annette Peach. I'm 63 years old. I live in the US (California), and I've been a fan of your series, Hudson and Rex for about a year now.
I'm writing to you because I see you company's name on the credits for the series, Hudson and Rex.
I'm writing to you to give a little insight from someone on the outside looking in. I'm not going to hash out what you probably heard already from many posts and emails. Nor am I going rant and rave on the decision you had made. Even though I don't agree with it.
From where I stand, even I can see, the decisions you and your company have made are not going well. Ratings have dropped drastically and it's going to continue to drop until you are forced to cancel the series, if you do not do something about it soon.
My feelings about this, you have forgotten that it's the people that makes the show successful, not the company nor you. If the people do not watch, your show fails. Yes, I know you know this, so the question is, what are you going to do about it?
The only thing the fans have been asking from you is one person, John Reardon. Why you have been so stubborn about this request is a total mystery to me; as well as why you had replaced him to begin with. He is the heart of the show. Without the heart, everything dies. I saw this, and I've only been a fan for one year.
Why didn't you see it?
We do not want you to cancel the series. We want it to continue. But the only way that is going to happen is if John Reardon returns as Charlie. He is the only one that can save this show now. You've let the issue drag out for too long. And I know a lot of money has been spent, but you still have time to correct things.
My advice to you as an outsider is, get John back in, scrap season 8-9. They're not worth the money you spent on it. Yes, it will hurt the pocketbook, but in the long run it will be worth it. And give us fans, the best blockbuster comeback in the history of television. An original story, not a copy of something that has already been seen and done. Two-hour special would be nice. Remake season 8 and make it the best season for Hudson and Rex, as the series starts to move forward again. Make us long for more week after week. If you wish to make changes in the direction the show is going, communication with your cast. Hear their thoughts on where they would like to grow their characters as the show moves and grows and opens new doors. They know their characters best. You do this, ratings will shoot back up like fireworks, and you'll have fan's support back, where WE want to be.
We all make mistakes. That is how we grow.
