I have noticed on my electric bill that the credit I had built up was slowly dwindling down. I contacted customer service and was advised that after my solar buyback plan expired, I registered for a solar payback plan. I had brain surgery last year and thought it was the same plan as I had been on. I was advised that under this plan, that the amount of energy I produced through my solar panels, was credited to my account only for the amount which I consumed. I realized the reason my credit was dwindling was that I am being charged an Oncor Electric Delivery fee and taxes. I was then advised the extra electricity I produced with my solar panels, is going back to the grid and being sold. With this explanation, Reliant is financially benefiting for electricity I produce. In this scenario which was explained by the customer service representative numerous times, taking something that I am producing and using it for personal or business benefit, is theft. I tried to state this every time the customer service gave me the explanation and said, "well that is the policy which Reliant came up with and gave them."
Desired outcome: I can show the amount I am producing on a daily basis and for the most part, it exceeds what I used. I feel this is theft of services.
forcing into long distance phone plan
Company called our business and told them that they were going to set us up with new long distance plan but employee told them he did not have authorization to do so, after repeating this, we received an email confirmation they've switched us to their long distance plan. When I called the company, I got a highly unprofessional woman who didn't answer the phone like a company representative and was absolutely rude when I told her this was something they need to talk to get approval from managers for. Look out, scam alert!
multiple unauthorized charges
I have 4 unauthorized charges on my home phone bill from Reliant Communications.
"Total Transaction Clearing Long Distant Charges" is at the bottom of my billing page totaling $39.36. I did not authorize this and I want my money back.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
IN OCTOBER 1212 RELIANT CALLED AND CONVINCED ME HOW MUCH MONEY I WOULD SAVE BY SWITCHING TO THEM. NUMBER ONE MY BILL WAS HIGHER JUST FOR THEY MONTHLY CHARGES THAN I PAID FOR UNLIMITED PER MONTH. TO MAKE THINGS WORSE I WAS CHARGED FOR TWO MONTHS AND IT HAD NEVER BEEN CHANGED SO I HAD TO PAY MY NORMAL BILL FOR SERVICE THEY RENDERED AND HAD TO PAY RELIACE FOR NO0 SERVICE .WHEN I TALKED TO THE SUPERVICER I WAS TOLD IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHANGED SO I WILL STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT.TO KEEP MY CREDIT GOOD I PAID IT'S ONLY $42.00 BUT IT IS THE PRINCIPLE. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY DOLORES HUTCHINSON
I think this is a scam company and I'm making further complaint to the atty generals office.
Reliant Communications - Sign up without my knowledge
Reliant Communications signed me up for long distance service without me being aware. They said someone signed up using my email address (which I had not used in 10-12 years) and my street address (which I had not used in 12-13 years). They said they had no way of knowing who or where this was done. They are a very dishonest and untrustworthy company.

I received an email stating that I had signed up for:
Unlimited Domestic Calling service, which you recently placed online
( I DID NOT ORDER THIS).
As you know, unless you notify us that you want to cancel you will be billed $15.85 per month on the local telephone number you provided for the services.
WHAT A SCAM... if I had just deleted this as junk email, I'd have been screwed... I did send a cancellation email, which may create a new problem.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
