Back in February I booked a return flight LHR-DXB via BAH on Gulf Air. With the conflict going on, soon enough my flight from LHR-BAH was cancelled by the airline. The options otherwise were not suitable given a bus was involved via another airport and with the flight cancelled, I went to Opodo requesting a refund. Their Chat Assistant said I had to cancel my booking in order to make a refund request, which I did. I also tried reaching out numerous times to rebook on another airline, but Opodo customer service never responded until I used their complaint form, and even then they were automated responses without a clear understanding of the problem. I had to rebook directly with another airline, and ask for family help to pay for the ticket. Fast forward to today, and I have been told twice by Opodo that I wasn't entitled to a refund, despite the cancelled flight and now I am in an email loop of automated responses and "we are looking into it" - months after the original flight day and long since I started this whole ordeal. How are they allowed to get away with this absolutely diabolical customer service? THey are breaking so many laws with their scammy behaviour.
