Opodo review: Booking, complaints, stranded

In brief I booked return tickets from Edinburgh to Venice Marco Polo for my wife and myself for the 5th of May and return on the 12 th May 2025 with Opodo for Ryanair flights on these dates .They gave me a reference number of [protected] and lengthy instruction of how to get notifications from Ryanair- which seemed very strange
I received a confirmation which looked like it came from Ryanair with flight reference of KL466Y .
All appeared to be confirmed — when I then contacted Ryanair under my bookings these flights were not shown only our last trip to Berlin.
We gave the e mail ( which looks more like a password) received from Opodo and the reference , which was not accepted by Ryanair. We tried this several times .

We phoned Opodo prime helpline and were just told that the information sent was correct and that from their end the flights were shown as booked , we persisted over and over again ( we spent 3 hours on this ) to no effect - the endgame was that we could not speak to Ryanair as the references did not check out and Opodo sent us a confirmatory e mail repeating the same info that did not check out-and the suggestion that we phone Ryanair , that we could not as they would not speak as thh h e info did not work . stalemate

This morning I re booked flights with Ryanair direct , received confirmation and printed out boarding passes - I then phoned the Opodo prime number to ask to cancel the previous flights as I had been told that this was something that I could do .

I had two separate conversations but was cut off both times by Opodo - it turned out that I could not automatically get a refund and I was going to be sent a complaints form .

So the end result is that I have two sets of return flights one via Opodo and one direct with Ryanair.

Opodo insisted that their booking and flight times were correct but that cannot be correct as the flights are on the same days but at later times - our contact details are walton.m.[protected]@gmail.com mob [protected].
I should say that we are both 80 years old and this system is totally unusable - is it all just a scam - we have never had these problems before when booking direct with an airline direct and we have travelled pretty frequently .
