Norton useless customer service

Spent 2 weeks waiting for a phone call, they forgot,
tried again, waited the whole day long then they called, I answered my name that's all, they got disconnected then didn't try again, I spent another 4 hours asking them to call me, they didn't, absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced, I couldn't get on the internet for 2 weeks until I finally removed it, what a waste of money, I spent more money on the phone trying to get assistance than the product is worth, absolutely useless!

Norton security breach and privacy intrusion

I subscribe to Norton Security Premium. Today I found two unwanted VPN accesses on my PC and the VPN access can't even be turned off. Norton installed Firewall on my pc, which allows remote control on my pc, and also allows McAfee to access my PC. Why? Norton is not enough for PC protection? I feel that someone at Norton is stealthily access customers' PC, especially stealing information in online related financial information. This poses a serious threat to me and to other customers. Please do something to stop this practice ASAP!

Norton rob manager from lismore nsw store

Hello.
Last month I purchased a laptop from your store in Lismore. After two hours of using it it was intermittently shutting down, my wife made a special trip into town to return it and was turned away as they insisted that the fault was due to time being wrong on laptop. The next time I used the lap top I had the same issue. On second return and wife having to wait around town for five hours while they "site fault" they finally agreed to give a refund. Re fund was received. The problem I have is rob from Lismore insist I purchase office 365 and Norton's with the lap top as he said it would be useless without it. I now have a subscription to office 365 and Norton's that is useless to me. The manager from Lismore refuses to refund me for the office and Norton's even though they admitted to selling a faulty lap top. I have no use for these as I now have another lap top with these pre installed. I really expected more from Harvey Norman and am very disappointed as I specifically shopped local and avoided the cheaper internet deals so I could have better local back up service. Can I please get this reviewed and refunded so I can avoid having to waste more time going through ACCC. Look foward to your reply.

Norton norton auto renew

Norton
I have been with Norton for about 24 years (1994 Norton Utilities) and I have never had a problem until now, three years ago I decided to use auto renewal on Norton security deluxe 5 devices, and I noticed in my latest bank statement a few days ago was an annual charge of £69.99 I did a search on the internet and found it at £23.99 at my local PC World which is not a cheap store, this is approx. one third of the cost from Norton auto renewal, so I went online chat with Norton to cancel this auto renewal and was immediately offered 50% discount, this adds insult to injury, I asked how could they justify three times the cost compared to a retail store and was told this is due to "bulk discount" again this adds insult to injury, I eventually purchased this at Amazon for £21 with five devices for one year, this was delivered the next day.
When I tried to install it on my desktop pc using the three point install and product key as given in the Norton package it said it was redeemed but there was a problem with the installation, an error with OS, could be with Jscript or VBscript? To I tried to install it on my laptop and got the same result following the instructions (visit Norton.com/setup on web browser) there was a phone number there which I dialled to get support [protected] I explained the problem and they said (an Asian man) that the problem was an error with my PC and insisted that he gain access to my laptop which he did but after waiting 10 minutes listing to loud irritating music I disconnected his connection and put the phone down, I was extremely suspicious of this. As this is a new laptop and desktop and never had problems before.
I eventually I went on line to Norton to get anther more secure number to phone. [protected] again this was an Asian man (another Asian call centre) and I explained my numerus attempts and failures to install the package I was then rudely told to go and try again as I was not listening and if it failed again to phone him back, this was really telling me he did not want to give me support this was extremely disgusting attitude of Norton support team.
As a last resort I logged back into my Norton account and tried the online chat, case number [protected] and I was informed that the reason why it would not install was I had used all my 5 device options and I had to delete one of them which I did and it eventually installed just fine. I fail to see how Norton can conduct there business in this manner, the original auto renew three times the cost of high street shops I class as theft which is very concerning taking into account Norton is classified as a security company… this is certainly a long way off the old Peter Norton software..

Norton norton antivirus debit

My name is Kenichiro Thomson and I bought a Norton anti-virus package a few years ago.

I was under the impression I had cancelled the direct debit however I seem to have been charged £84.99 in my account ending in 826.

I would like to have this refunded as I haven't used your Norton product and believed I had cancelled my subscription. Could you please make sure this does nt happen in the future again please.

If you need any more Information please e-mail me at [protected]@gmail.com

Many Thanks,
Ken Thomson

Norton norton antivirus protection - windows vista

Received email from Norton support with the following title: "Norton support for Windows XP & Vista will be changing". At the bottom of the email explanation it provided the option to cancel the subscription ("We understand that you may have questions about this decision or that you may wish to cancel your Norton subscription.")

Your message offers an option to cancel service due to a change in service level. However, when I contacted customer service all they could do is remove the automatic renewal with no refund for the remaining 6 month subscription as this notification occurred 60 days after renewal. While I understand that customer service is following Norton policy, and did offer transfers of a subscription, the fact that Norton changed service levels, offered a cancellation option, but did not honor it is the reason I chose not to continue with Norton (after more than 10 years of satisfied service). Sorry this happened and thought you should know why .

I was asked numerous personal questions by your service person such as my address my marital status how many children i have and how many family members i have and where they live. I explained politely i did not wish to answer personal questions the man verbally abused me and refused to give me his name . i then asked him to please stop abusing me and he laughed and continued with his verbal abuse towards me. I then pleaded for his help and he continued his abuse . I started to crt and my husband took over the phonecall and asked for the verbal abuse to stop or we would lodge a complaint. The man then said he didnt care if we lodged a complaint and hung up the phone . Please help us.

Norton uploading of norton security deluxe subscription

Purchased norton security deluxe subscription card 26 may 18 as my subscription was to run out on 28 may 18. I proceeded to download & install as directed but code was not accepted so phoned 08081891055 as directed. The lady spoke good english but she couldn't download it either. She asked if I got my laptop "cleansed" every three months & when I said no she said that was the problem & would get a senior technician to contact me. The senior technician phoned shortly afterwards & remotely began to assess my laptop. His english was fairly good but the background noise made hearing him very difficult & I told him so but it didn't improve.
He said I had a number of "strange ip addresses" & told me to log onto asknet.com & again remotely accessed my laptop. This went on for approx 3 hours & 4 phone calls.
On the last phone call at just after 10 p.M. He said I needed better protection & I needed to pay £179.94. By now I felt I had a major problem & so agreed (stupid I know) but I have always used norton so paid up. It wasn't until the 30th when I received an invoice from device support & my bank statement showed this was paid to eureka online shop that I realized this was not norton.
The invoice which looks more like an insurance policy stated I could cancel it so I did but to date no money has been refunded.
I tried to send queries via feedback but none got through as either 1) too long 2) box too full.
I have been left wondering why a norton technician used another company.

Hi Raj, I'm glad to say I've been in contact with 2 Norton guys, Sagar & Mohit using the Chat box (pity I didn't know about that earlier) so laptop checked & ok. Also contacted my bank & Direct support & money returned.
I only followed the instructions so maybe Norton needs to look at why their download card sent me off there in the first place.

I'm pleased to report I eventually managed to contact Norton & the two guys, Sagar & Mohit were very helpful. I contacted my bank & Direct Support (who have nothing to do with Norton) & my money was returned.
What I have learnt is Norton work by using a Chat box & not the phone line I was directed to. I have left that up to Norton to work out why I was directed to it in the first place.
All things considered I think I've been lucky & will be more aware next time

Norton norton security premium

I had $164.99 taken from my bank account without my Authorisation for payment of the abovenamed product. This is not due until 1st July 2018 and I pay this manually. Upon checking your website not only was I charged this amount you also have a special for $84.99 which you did not apply. I phoned Norton and they refunded my account (it took another 3 days). We are under financial stress at present and $164.99 is a lot of money to be without.
Upon checking my account 2 days later another $164.99 had been charged which then put my account in overdrawn and I had no access to funds for 5 days. The charge then disappeared. I and my husband made several complaints without any resolve.
I would at the least expect free Norton Security Premium for the next year. This has caused us much anxiety to not have any money in our account and no explanation.
Please advise us if you can assist.

Norton fraudulent email

Dear sir, I received an email which asked for money on your behalf for something I have never had, I was not happy on receiving this email they did give a reference Norto 221794 which I have given to you.
The only thing I ever get from norton is computer security and have always paid for this on the same day
I renewed it, I was not pleased about this matter and would take it to the police fraud department.
At the moment I don't feel like renewing with norton again, unless you can resolve this matter and I would like to know how they got my email address.
Regards

Dear Sir / Madam,
I have, today, received the following email from info@geniusservicecentre.com demanding over £400 for software I never purchased... They say my account is overdue since 22nd Feb 2015 … If it was over due then why only contact me now...
I have never bought any Norton software at anytime … or downloaded paid software... I am not a business, so I wouldn't need £400 worth of software... I am a 68 year old retired pensioner...

Your assistance in this matter would be much appreciated... EMAIL attached:...

Dear Customer,

Account Number :- NORTO-221794

Your account balance of £495 was overdue as of 22 Feb 2015.

Our client informed you several times for software package payment but you denied. This matter we have to escalate to the small claim court with further court notice. If there is a reason why these payments have been withheld we would be obliged if you could contact us in order to either explain the reason or come to some form of payment arrangement.

If we do not hear from you within the next seven days we will have no alternative than to commence with further debt collection procedures. If you do not clear your outstanding you will be continuously charged on monthly basis because you have never cancelled the services so far.
You can always contact us and we will look into it mutually. Or the matter will be resolved in the court which will take a long time and till then your account will be levied heavily with fine. Kindly ignore this email if you wish to resolve this matter in small claim court.

Yours sincerely

Norton norton antivirus

$219 withdrawn from my account by Norton, I contacted Norton, they told me, it was automatic renewal and I cannot get refund because it past 60 days, I told them it is overcharge and it should be $119 not $219. They told me they will extend the renewals for two years instead of one year. I agreed but I didn't have access for pc for them to proceed so they told me to call back. I called today they told me, they wouldn't extend the renewal and they wouldn't give me refund

Norton unauthorised payments

Have not had a norton subscription for over 2 years. All of a sudden had a random debit from my account for £84.99. Phoned bank and claimed it as fraud. 2 days later my parents visited and bought with them a norton renewal card that had been delivered to their address. I have not lived at this address for over 10 years, when i logged into my old norton account the address that was on their site was my previous address (still not my parents address). i also had not had any products for the amount deducted and nothing was active on this account. I contacted norton to see what the hell was going on.

They really did not seem to understand what i was saying. The account that they had debited me for was one i had now used for over 10 years, had no access to and could not even remember what email address i may have been using at this time. Laughably they claimed unless i provided the email address (that i did not know) that i used, they could not find my account. How they have no ability to search my name or address completely baffles me.

By this time the chat representative was getting rather short and aggressive. Eventually they told me the order number will be on the debit on my bank statement. i checked this and provided the information, to be told this is not a valid order number. At this time i really did feel like i was banging my head against a wall. After a little more arguing back and forth they threw some email addresses at me and asked if they could be mine. i told them to check if any of them had been debited recently for the amount. By now the chat representative was getting really arsey. Eventually they agreed to refund me (bonus considering my bank already had), then came the real kicker. They provided me with my card details that they would be refunding the money to. This card was relatively new. i demand to know how they obtained this information as i did not supply it to them. I was informed i must have. When i again explained, no i did not and seeing i could not even access this old norton account, it was pretty impossible for me to do so.

The chat representative literally started arguing me at this point. I then asked how do i make a complaint. Information on this would not be given. In the end i got fed up of wasting my time with this shambles of an organisation and demanded all my accounts be shut down and my details wiped and ended the conversation.

Would recommend avoiding Norton at any cost.

Norton unauthorised credit card transactions, complaints team rudeness & unethical behaviour

I was told to phone Norton to query a charge which I hadn't authorised. I installed Norton over a year ago on a computer that broke down within a month. I had no need of this product since then. When I phoned the 1st male hang up on me abruptly so I called again & the same thing happened. So my husband phoned they stayed on the phone longer this time but tried to gain remote access to my device so they could install their product which is not wanted or needed. I am disgusted at the way I've been treated & I hope this behaviour stops because it is no way to do business.

Norton recently took $94.99 from my personal financial account on 5/29/18. I never authorized this transaction. My wife received a message from Norton on her cell phone that Norton intended to do this without my expressed authorization. I would NEVER agree to pay such an amount. EVER! Unless you can show my signature or recording of my voice authorizing this transaction, I insist you re-instate my funds in my account ($94.99). This practice you have adopted to take money from those who don't agree to pay is illegal. This caused me to be overdrawn which cost me cash penalty ($37.00) and also damages my credit. Damaging customers in this way is not proper business practices. My wife's name is NOT on my personal financial account, so sending messages just to her phone in order to take money from me shows your improper intent. Please inform my bank (TCF) that this was not authorized by me.

Neither of us always reads all junk mail sent. You must receive verifiable authorization to remove funds on your own. Cease this practice!

Reemburse my account or face legal action and a report to the Better Business Bureau.

Norton norton antivirus update does not allow me to connect to my cisco vpn.

I have had to go back one version of Norton to get my VPN (Cisco any connect) to work. Spent a great deal of time with the tech people at Norton and all they could suggest is that I go through the same nonsense with Cisco. Norton is garbage, and the tech people are worthless. Also, I was told that I could not get any refund on the amount I have already paid for this garbage. Email: [protected]@yahoo.com

Status update: Norton completely bailed on me... their update made my Cisco VPN unusable and they said there was nothing they could do. Also checked with my client company (who administers VPN) and they said the same. I did get a full refund after a successful BBB complaint filing. Real fine company.

And who would that be? Funny, I thought I paid for a service (Norton) and they were to provide that service. The Norton update is the cause of my problem - it did not exist with the previous update(s). And maybe you should learn some manners - oh wait, this is probably all you do so never mind.

I have been on the phone at least 3 times with Norton tech support, and they have logged into my computer each time. They cannot fix and told me I need to contact Cisco. If you are Norton Support you should be able to see the records of my contacts with them.

Norton a2a payment

3/19/18 Debit 6516187 *AP1252553758 Mountain View CA [protected].28.02
$84.99 was taken from my account but I never ordered Norton Symantec.
I was never sent an email informing me and I do not choose automatic renewal ever.
I tried to make a purchase today but was rejected because $84.99 was stolen from my bank account.
Please refund my $84.99. This is fraud, pure and simple. I lost all of my verizon.net emails, all my contacts and folders about 4 weeks ago. Some companies, like Norton, may be emailing me on that lost Verizon account. This is not my fault and I cannot find these emails. Any that may have been sent to me at the Verizon.net address are floating around in cyberspace. Please have mercy and refund my $84.99. I'm far from rich and cannot afford these large (to me) amounts to be taken from my bank account.

Thank you for your consideration of this problem.
