Norton So disappointed

After 10 years with Norton, I have never had my pc hacked. recently I got scammed by a Norton "contractor" that I was forwarded to without my knowledge when I called Norton Support. It seems Norton is good at making system wide changes without one's knowledge. Like the new VPN that disconnects and reconnects constantly leaving one vulnerable.

Recommendation: Norton has changed drastically ever since partnering or buying or bought by Life LockLock

Norton Nortons is horrible, read reviews before buying

1) there is no complete package
2) constant popups trying to upsell another thing for $100
3) FALSE CLAIMS TO SCARE INTO BUYING, constant pop up saying out of date drivers, give long list. i screen shot, every driver it said was out of date, check driver it is most current. norton even says driver model and when looked up~does not exist!
4) pop up click do not show again, it will with days
5) constant identity theft risks, buy program
6) had issue with screen showing shadow like trying to open 10 windows but nothing open. spent 4-5 hours with some person in my computer who barely speaks english, doing way more than i liked with not being able to explain what they were doing. THEN NEXT DAY SAME EXACT ISSUE!
7) use norton safe page
7a) this is part of paid service but it has locked advertising on it, so scam for more money!
7b) the search engine is just horrible, and i think it uses paid advertising as top priority like google. so biased searches!
8) so always up-selling and using scare tactics to outright lies about drivers

Recommendation: research service and pick better

Norton Do not subscribe to this service.

Buyer Beware! Do not subscribe to this service. Once you subscribe, they make it virtually impossible to cancel. The 1st year I subscribed, I was getting more than annoyed with their current pop-ups saying your computer has a problem. Give us some more money and we will get rid of it. I turned off the auto-renewal option and they turned it back on without my consent. In June of 2023, they then charged my credit card 5 weeks before the subscription was due to expire. After wasting a couple of hours trying to contact them to cancel, I finally decided to stay with them for another year as I needed antivirus protection. I then removed myself from their automatic renewal option.

A couple of months before my subscription was to expire this year, I double checked to make sure the auto-renewal was off. Once again, they put it back on. I turned it off a 2nd time. Then in June the charge showed up, with the subscription scheduled to expire 5 weeks later. I finally got somebody on the phone who could barely speak English. When I told him to cancel my subscription, He said he would give me 50% off if I changed my mind. Then it was 60%, then 70%. Finally at 80% I hung up on him as he would not take no for an answer.

I sent them a certified letter to a FL address, before the expiration date, which they ignored. They are con artists. When you want to renew, you are one click away and you can do it in seconds. When you want to cancel, they make it impossible. After reading through many of the ratings on Consumer Affairs, I am not surprised that almost 80% of the nearly 1,000 respondents gave them a rating of 2 or less. I am only giving them a rating of 1, because giving them a zero is not an option. It's time for a class action suit against them. It sounds like there are several others who have had similar experiences with them.

Recommendation: Don't waste your money. Their Customer Service is terrible

Norton I have had Norton for years, but I am done with this F**king company

I constantly get emails and popups about problems with my PC which Norton will fix for extra $$. I have ignored these and consider them as spam and phishing attempts to just gouge me for more money. I get a lot of s**t about life lock and other $$ costs that I don't want or need. I decided today to take Norton up on their popup that there are 33,000 problems slowing down my computer, deciding to buy the "Ultimate Utilities" package for $63 dollars, but it never shows up as an available purchase, just shows the services that I have. Tried Norton Support, but it directs me to non existent choices and actions that there is no option to choose. I tried logging in several times with the same results. Their support page is a piece of s**t, which keeps offering the same false misinformation. There is no chat availability and no phone to call to speak with a real person, to resolve the situation, so obviously, they don't give a s**t about customer service.

Recommendation: FIND ANOTHER PATH. That is what I am going to do.

It sounds like Symantec (Norton) is giving you the runaround — constant popups about problems, but when you try to resolve it by buying their "Ultimate Utilities," the option doesn’t even show up. On top of that, navigating their support system seems like a nightmare, with no real help or human interaction. It’s frustrating when a company bombards you with offers but then makes it impossible to get any actual assistance when you need it. They really need to step up their customer service game.

Norton Horrible

I had purchased Norton 360 for 3 devices for 49.99 in June 2023, and confirmation for renewal on June 29 2024. Norton charged me 59.99 on Nov 18 2023. I went around and around on the phone with 3 CSR , was told I would have my refund. It’s impossible to take your credit card information out of their system. I never received my refund and called my card services to put an alert for any future charges by Norton. I took that crap off my computer and IPhone last month. I was never able to delete my card number. I did receive an Email that my subscription had been cancelled. Totally a Rip Off. Never again! I wouldn’t use them if They paid Me.

Recommendation: Don’t!!!!

Norton Norton LifeLock

When I called Norton LifeLock yesterday on 06/11/25 at 2:33 pm a guy by the name of brain answered the phone a worker at Norton LifeLock. When I asked the brain about one of apps on my phone to see if I had been hacked into. And to see if I could get some Norton LifeLock service. This guy Brain had told me that. That they don't educate people about the service. So when I asked him if I could speak to a manager after he was so rude to me he told me that I couldn't and that but if I wanted to hang up and call back again to talk to someone else through customer service that I could but I couldn't talk to the manager.

Norton Norton contractor Microtech Services LLC (877) 8545-0260

My pc was hacked into 04/04/2025. I called Norton Customer Support and spoke to someone James Walter. I thought I was speaking with Norton; James really pressured me to purchase "Norton Advance" because "the subscription I currently have does not block malware or other threats". It wasn't until today that I found out they were contracted to take care of removing malware and other technical issues for Norton. After three attempts I spoke to the same John today and requested a refund. My subscription with Norton expires in May 2025 and I won't be renewing it. I've researched and spoken with users of NordVPN and it's rated as one of the best. I've been with Norton for over 10 years and to call Norton for something as serious as a virus and be forwarded to an outside contractor is beyond belief. Also, in all of those years I've never had my pc hacked so this makes me wonder how legit this whole contractor business is. I will be calling my bank within 24 hours to make sure my money is returned.

having been with you for over a decade, i am cancelling and will not be returning!
again a automatic renewal has kicked in taking money before i knew it was due to renew.
i am registered disabled with mental health and anxiety issues.
your support lady, ([protected] conversation) after hearing me close to tears and screaming, still tried to sell me products,
disgusting customer care and service
as i said over a decade with norton always with same email address so you can verify everything. will now go out of my way to ensure no one i know gives you money
mental health issues is not a green light to try to bully and coerce people into buying something
i will find the relevant government body to report this to. Your colleague paused in her sales pitch while i broke down, then resumed the pitch!

Norton Norton 360 deluxe

I have just purchased Norton 360 Deluxe. it says I can connect 5 devices, up to now ive put it on my mac book (Monterey) and my iphone. I tried to contact Norton because I could not log in! I kept getting messages, saying wrong password! but id only just set it up! Anyway I requested a password thing 3 times, and got a msg, saying that an email had been sent, 3 times (I waited 10 -15 mins between each request) no emails arrived! I could not get into chat or phone, kept bringing up the options page. I gave up, and created a new account, which finaly got accepted. I have 2 issues How do I link my 360deluxe to the new account I had to create? While trying to download 360 on my iphone, I am halfway through installing it, and I need help, because the instructions on screen, do not match my menu. How do I get to speak to someone, at Norton? Also, following the on screen instructions, I clicked on add another device, added the phone & despite being told to scan the QR code to continue, I have been charged a further 22 gbp? Despite being told my subscription covers 5 devices? How do I get my money back for the phone? Thanks in advance!

The Norton system needs fixing. Just reach out to their billing support and demand for a refund because of the extra amount they charged you. Connect your subscription to the new account by using the same activation code that you have been given before. If it won’t, get Tier 2 involved or call in your support team directly. Do not relent until everything is back to normal again.

Norton All of their products

I have used Norton in the past and present. Recently, though I feel I've been nickeled and dimed for different products. I went to upgrade utilites and then had both utilities on my computer. Someone did help get this straightened out but I was also overcharged for the initial amount that was offered. I spent a better part of the day working with Norton to try and get this straigtened out. I could not sign on my norton account which I told each customer service rep. I was unable to. I had my cell number as an extra safety feature. I was not getting the text message with the code, however, I was getting text messages. No one seemed to be able to help. I was told to wait a couple hours and try again. That did not work, and the morning could not sign again. I will call the number given for assistance because I'm tiered of this back and forth with AI and then a rep. who cannot help. It seems to me they could send a code via email but that was never offered. I'm trying again this afternoon and if I cannot not I will be leaving Norton.

Desired outcome: I want to view my account and print out my account numbers as I have in the past.

Norton seems to be turning tech support into a marathon. Could’ve been worse — you managed to get some of it sorted, even if it felt like pulling teeth. Hopefully, they realize that keeping a loyal customer shouldn't require jumping through endless hoops.

Norton Norton anti virus

I purchased Norton anti virus from Curry's and installed and clearly pushed the button saying no to renewal, about 4 months later i noticed on a credit card statement that I was charged £64.99 for Norton anti virus, trying to get through on there website to complain about this was very difficult so I emailed and explained this had happened. to be honest I have had a lot of personal issue as well as health issues so i completely forgot to chase it up. So yesterday I need to check something on my credit card statement and I see they have done it again taken £64.99 so went on the chat and spoke to someone who said he would refund both just needed the ref numbers I had one from my latest statement but had to locate the other ref number so the guy said soon ss you find it get back the chat and whoever is on will refund it for you, this when some else come on I explained yet again and he said he can't do it I told him to look at the note but he just refused. The annoying thing my Norton I paid £14.99 for and online they are charging £64.99 now weather that has more features I don't know but the £14.99 is sufficient to my needs.

Desired outcome: refund and interest and time spent in total 4 hours yesterday and last year 2 hours spent chasing up. Norton very sneaky the way they do this.

Norton Norton utilities ultimate

Well it all started on or around Nov.2023. I was going to cancel my subscription for Norton Antivirus. I chatted with the rep. and told him I could buy the program at the store cheaper, he told me its not the same as the online program. we went back and forth about the price, finally he told me his boss said we could match the price from the store. So I agreed and got it for the store price. He was looking at what I had tried from my account on the free trials for 30 days (I think it was for that long) well anyways he asked me if I want to subscript to the 2 programs ( Utilities Ultimate & Driver Updater. I told him that the price was too high. He went to his boss again and said I could give you the 2 programs for $5 for the year, I jumped at this deal. Then they billed me for $56.95 on Jan.22/2024. So I called and told them I have the program till 12/12/2024 & 12/16/2024. Again round & round with them talked to the rep. his boss then senior, but the call got disconnected and no call back. My name is David Harmston, I cannot use all of my Norton products as I cannot log in. My E mail is d.[protected]@sky,com

I can input my username and password with no problem. I am then confronted with this .Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app And this is where logging in stops. I've tried dealing through the talk box but it says it cant help. I hope you can resolve this for me.

Norton Norton GO Platinumsubscription - CBA Bullguard

My mother (Elizabeth Borthwick) had $216.28 taken out of her account 18th January 2024 by CBABullguard. I am her daughter with PofA and have tried to cancel her account ( #[protected] ) without any luck. You are impossible to contact. My mother is 91 in an aged care and does not use a computer. This is out right theft. I have enough stress having her is full time care without sorting out these impossible money issues. I wish for her Norton subscription to be cancelled. She doesn't have a password or information that helps me cancel Norton.

Norton Complete failure to resolve an unauthorised payment

I am with Norton and today 11th January 2024 found an unauthorised payment of $135.99 on my bank account for a product I have no idea on but a purchase number AP150771735004110775 and have not been able to contact any help from Norton. Norton helpline is ridiculous and if Norton thinks community help is all they need to do they should not be in business.

Norton Billing

Billing - billed twice for two separate accounts, I do not have two accounts. I have one. And this is a complimentary Norton / LifeLock account offered by AOL as a customer benefit.

I called a Norton Representative on Jan 12, 2023.

Norton told me that they did not charge my credit card, It had to be AOL.

And there are two charges on my credit card from Norton. On 10/09/23 & 12/31/23.

The Norton rep initially could not find where they had charged me for service, and then when she did find a charge, stated that AOL had initiated the charges

in question. Norton refuses to entertain the idea of a possible mistake on their part, and has suggested that my only recourse is via my credit card company or the third party (AOL).

Desired outcome: Please refund

Norton Norton 360

Before my automatic renewal date which is November 7th, 2023, I cancelled Norton 360. On November 7th, 2023 despite my wishes, Norton 360 was renewed. Trying to get help on this subject I searched their website and did not get much satisfaction there. I put a case in with case ID [protected] but nothing came of it. After several attempts to get a hold of someone through chat and via the phone, I did get through. The guy I spoke to on Friday, December 29th, 2023 was mainly concerned with regards to verifying me. After he verified me he transferred me to Loyalty. I could hear him fine and he could hear me, however, that was a different story when I spoke with the agent at Loyalty, she kept stating to me that she could not hear me even though I could hear her with no problems. She ends up disconnecting the call. I want and need a resolution in this matter.

Desired outcome: I am looking for a resolution in this matter and would like a full refund for a product I did not want and had canceled a month prior.

Norton Norton Antivirus

I have been in contact with Norton for 4-6 hours over the past two days and each time have been transferred to tech support. They run the scans, delete files and I am still receiving the PopUp messages saying the is a threat, then that you are working on it, the that the threat has been resolved. It has not been resolved! The threat is ISB.Downloaderlgen252. What am I paying for? Your people are very courteous but they do not stay on long enough to resolve this problem. There have been at least 4 logmein sessions and as soon as they hang up the threat pops up!

Claimed loss: 5-6 hours of my time that I normally am paid $65/ hour for.

Desired outcome: Take care of the problem and be sure it has been corrected before disconnecting.

Norton Norton anti virus

I have always had McAfee as my security provider. Caught a good deal on Norton during Amazon black Friday... nothing but problems. Install should have told me with every section of install software selling upgrades of additional services. Since installing I get multiple upsale notices pop ups costing 3-5 times the anti virus I thought I was covered for. I am also suspect of errors/scams now appearing on my laptop that indicates my windows defender has been attacked and the screen is frozen... indicates I should call # @ windows to correct. I would never do that but did contact windows help... they said this was a scam. Why am I paying Norton to have this happen more than a 1/2 dozen times in the past few weeks.

Just re-purchased McAfee and will delete Norton software even though I paid for another 10 months of coverage... beware of Norton!

Norton Tune up package

I purchased norton tune up package for $49.99 on Nov 30 2023.I called to.get the service done on December 1 2023 and had long wait times got transfered all around the company to get someone to perform the service.Finally someone answered,At that point i had to go to work.I was speaking with the rep and informed him i had to go to work.So i asked for a direct phone number for the Department I needed to speak with that way when I called back on the second I didn't have to worry about getting transferred all over the place and long whole times. He gave me 800 number and I went to work. December 2nd 2023 I called back and what happened, The same thing I got transferred all over the place and then when I finally got a hold of the person I got a hold of the person I got hung up on. Now this guy gave me a phone number to call back,and assured me that I would go right to the person that I needed to assist me, I guess he lied to me. I Was so frustrated with this company that I called back and wanted to speak to someone about getting my money back, I got connected to that person and what happened, They hung up for me. I don't like the fact that, One the customer service Is not based in America, And I feel like what's going on there is scandalous. I am scared that with them outsourcing their business overseas, There is no guarantee our information is safe due to all the scams coming from the continent of Africa.. I want someone I can speak with, Who Speaks on the same level as I do . I understand everybody needs to work. However, They should have people working in their call centers who speak languages on the same level as the customer calling. That weather is no misinterpretation of any information. Norton Norton Lifelock

I purchase my sed Norton on November 24. Because I was having difficulty downloading Norton to my Apple Laptop, I called [protected]. I spoke with a representative Kevin. I was told that in order to resolve the problem, I had to use my Apple Card. Since, I was told and assured that the line was recorded I supplied my card. To date, $2038.91 has been put on my card. Norton's bookkeeping uses Alipay to credit my account. I am not able to speak to anyone at Norton except Kevin. Please help me. I need assistance.

Norton Invoice . not subscribe, cannot log in

I received an email with invoice for 599 dollars . I am unaware to subscribe so get me out of your system right now.

If I want to sign in cancel this which I am not sure that my account exist I cannot log in with my email however you send me invoice to that email .

This is invoice number : [protected] and cancel this immediately .

Also to mention your assistant on the phone call me an ignorant very unprofessional he did not handle my frusturation at all.

So now please based on the invoice find my account which I am unaware of and do not contact me neither take money from my account if you somehow hold this information because I will report this as scan .

this is a common scam. i have a norton account and im on autopay for my account. any email that claims i bought something from them outside the renewal date is a scam. they might miss spell in the email or the sender name, email does not come from norton themselves it will show another email, if you hover over the link [do not click] in the email and it does not say the normal norton link [https://us.norton.com/ replace us with the letters for your country or my.norton.com] then its a scam.

Norton Norton 360 standard HKWHDHD2Q62C

I received a email notice that my subscription had been renewed. The visa on my account was expired. However, Norton seemed to be able to access my new Visa card without my authorization and subsequently renewed my subscription on November 25, 2023. I had planned to cancel my subscription which wasn’t due for renewal until December 29, 2023. I would like to know how Norton was able to access my visa information without my authorization it my understanding this is theft. I want assurance that the charges for 106.39 are reversed as soon as possible. I am considering contacting the RCMP for further investigation into this matter

Norton Be held accountable

My husband and I canceled our subscription to Norton Antivirus months ago. Our debit card keeps attempting to have 134.00 withdrawn from our account. We have contacted them several times and are now contacting our attorney general. Norton has tried to withdraw money on Sunday, which is against our religion, and then on Thanksgiving — having robo calls every day at least three to four times a day. This company needs to be held accountable for its actions. In the ethical codes of conduct, "The Norton LifeLock Code of Conduct aligns our business practices with our values. Norton LifeLock is committed to conducting its business in an ethical and lawful manner. Our reputation is a valuable business asset, and ethical and legal conduct at all levels of our business is essential for our continued success". (Norton Life Lock [protected]). Is their statement on their codes of conduct. Now, what about the aggravation and harassment and the illegal withdrawals from the canceled customers? According to the law "If a credit, bank or any institution such as a bank or credit card company, or even a debt collection company or any other creditor, withdraws funds from your account for at least three regular intervals, such as for three consecutive months, without having a) first obtained your consent in writing or through something similarly authenticated, and b) given you a copy of any document that you signed authorizing the prerecorded electronic fund transfers, then you could be entitled to up to $1,000 in statutory damages in addition to your attorney’s fees and costs being paid pursuant to the federal Electronic Funds Transfer Act (15 U.S. C. § 1693 et seq.). This would be the case even if the company had obtained your consent verbally, as the consent must have been obtained expressly in writing". (Act 15 U.S. C. § 1693 et seq) - Rights protection Law group).

Norton Norton 365

I have your insuranse for virus and you are telling me my drivers are out of date. And my pc is only one month old how can that be. I hesitated in purchasing from you as a couple years ago your support people kept sending messages to upgrade and I refused then they started putting ads saying to upgrade which at first covered half a page and would not remove them. Then they went to full size ads and I tried shutting pc off a couple days and came back and as soon as I booted up they were thjere and came on my pc and moved what I was working on and changed words. I got a hold of a agent on microsoft and I let him on my pc and he saw what was happening and magaffe was also involved at this time. He managed to get mcafee off but you were still on and I kept contacting you and was told that does not happen. The harassment then stopped and so did my pc. Had to have it repaired over 200 dollars never got a I am sorry from you or mcafee. Macaffee was on my pc and I deleted them and hired you. Now get it working right and do not try to sell me anything I do not need or cancel and give money back
