During a recent discussion with an NTTA representative, it was confirmed that the actual principal toll tag charges incurred were only $119.00. Despite this minimal principal, the current balance reflects over $400.00 in accumulated late fees and penalties. Unjustified and Unconscionable Fees: The current administrative fees are predatory, exceeding the principal debt by over 300%. This practice is financially punitive and constitutes an unconscionable business practice, particularly given the lack of proper notification. They failed to correctly, notify me due to incorrect billing information. My failure to pay the original $119.00 was solely due to the NTTA's consistent failure to send bills to my correct, verifiable residential address. The NTTA instead utilized incorrect or obsolete addresses that were reportedly sourced from unreliable public records ("off the internet"), resulting in months of delayed and compounded penalties without my knowledge. The NTTA bears full responsibility for these notification failures. I acknowledge that I was offered a purported concession of a $150.00 reduction in fees. I formally reject this offer. Accepting a partial reduction that still leaves me paying penalties significantly exceeding the principal debt of $119.00, despite the NTTA’s documented failure to issue proper notice, is unacceptable.
Claimed loss: Over $400 in penalties along with them, trying to sue me and give out a citation.
Desired outcome: My required resolution is firm, non-negotiable, immediate and complete waiver of all administrative fees, late penalties, and collection charges associated with this outstanding balance.
