The order taker at the drive-through was very slow and answering after I had said hello about 10 times over a period of three minutes. I gave her my order which included one sausage, egg, and cheese burrito, one Canadian bacon, egg, and cheese Mc griddle one small chocolate milkshake and one small Diet Coke.
I got to the window after paying, and received my bag of food with a nice friendly, hello and thank you, and I drove off.
I lifted the bag of McDonald’s breakfast food for my wife and I and thought that it felt awfully light for having paid almost $10 for my order
So I drove around the building and got back in line again behind numerous cars and trucks, and got to the window and said y’all forgot to give me my Canadian bacon egg and cheese Mc griddle. The Spanish-speaking lady said where is your receipt? I gave her the bag with the receipt in it and she said you did not order a Canadian bacon egg and cheese. I told her that is incorrect! I in fact did order it and the lady who took the order repeated back what I had ordered, but she did not put it on my receipt, apparently. That is not my fault. That wasn’t a McDonald’s employees fault.
A lady said you’re gonna have to pay $5.36 more for that Mc griddle. I shaped my head and said that ain’t right to make me go around this building and wait behind all these numerous cars and trucks because you the McDonald employee failed to take my order and process it properly. That is not my fault. That is the fault of McDonald’s employees.
Reluctantly, I gave her five dollars and she closed the window, apparently not wanting to talk to me any longer. So, I drove off, thinking that everything was hunky-dory and I had my Canadian bacon egg, and cheese Mc griddle. When I got home, I learned that they had kept my bag containing the sausage, egg and cheese burrito for my wife’s breakfast, and I was the one who paid for both and the drinks. So all I got was my Mc griddle, my small Diet Coke, and my wife’s chocolate shake.
This is a pitiful display of how untrained people can mess up so badly with customers, it cannot help in making future money from the sale of your product. Having been a McDonald’s proponent for the last 50+ years, I must say that I will refrain from going back to that particular McDonald’s restaurant any further!
My question is… What is the customer complaint department prepared to do to earn my business back?
