I was looking to cut my household budget when I saw a Magic Jack info commercial. I checked out the web site. After some research I decided not to. A few days later I went back to the web site and thought the 30 day free trial couldn't hurt. WRONG. As I was filling out the form and had entered my card number, I thought twice and backed out of it. I DID NOT submit anything, never received any confirmation email or any knowledge that this transaction was complete.They grabbed that acct. # and withdrew immediately. I didn't realize it until the next day that they withdrew from my acct. fraudulently, without my authorization. It took me three months of aggravation and filing complaints to Pa. and Fla. Attorney Generals along with the Fla. BBB. Pa. A.G. office because that's where I live. I finally got my money back. Scammed-fraud. Thanks to Attorney Generals office. You need to file complaints with those offices.

      2010 put under review, bought new magic jack it worked for a year could not renew account under review buy another new one from best buy with one year service in El paso Texas i go to Guadalajara Mexico and they will not register it because i am under review and fifteen days has passed to return it to best buy. yet magic jack gives me the same old line we will email you it has been two years no email no refund that is outright stealing. do not have phone now my email is [email protected] i live on a budget and now i am the money for the magic jack the owner said he was going to things and has done nothing.

      I've used Magicjack for years and it has been great. 99% of the people who have issues are one who don't set it up right or in this case, have the wrong type of computer.

      These people are crooks. It will not work on a Mac unless it has Intel chips, which they do not tell you. I was charged $19.99 to convert to Magicjack and $30.00 by them to convert it back when it would not work. I was given a refund for the Magicjack when I returned it. However, they will not refund the $49.99 it cost me to convert . Beware of these people.

      I ordered the Magic Jack equipment on 17 Jan.12. The equipment was delivered on 31 Jan.12. In spite of doing the installation correctly on my Dell XP with high speed internet, the equipment has never worked. It was originally intended to send and receive telephone messages, but without its working, it is useless. I am willing to do what is necessary to make it work, however the company will not even contact me. In this case, I shall have to send the equipment back and request a refund.

    MagicJackarea code blocking

    For months Magic Jack has been blocking calls to select area codes where they are charged a fee per call by the land line providers where those numbers are registered. Magic Jack has lied to their Magic Jack customers claiming that it is the land line provider that is blocking the calls and they continue to tell the Magic Jack customers that they are working on the problem. The fact of the matter is that they are blocking the calls to hundreds if not thousands of area codes throughout the U.S. because they don't like the charges being sent their way by the land line providers. After being misled, lied to, stalled, and defrauded for months by their customer service chat people, I filed a complaint with the FCC. Last night Magic Jack sent out an auto-renewal notice at 12:30am just after midnight telling me that I had one hour to respond if I didn't want my charge card billed again for another year. Luckily I was still up and was able to cancel the subscription by replying to the email. I WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE TO TAKE A LONG LOOK AT THE LIST OF AREA CODES THAT THEY ARE NOW BLOCKING CALLS TO BY SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR THOSE LISTS. THEY ARE AVAILABLE AND THE LIST IS GROWING ALL THE TIME. MAGIC JACK HAS BECAME A TOTAL WAIST OF MONEY.

      I was charged for a second year of service without authorizing them. I was told on the web chat it was canceled but it wasn't and had to spend an hour on the phone just to get hung up on when they would not give me a confirmation number.

          It looks like magic Jack is a scam, sold under many endorsements, and made attractive to buy. I cannot make 800 calls. Of all the phones in my house only one gets connected and the others do not. The FCC should investigate along with the consumer agencies. One month free trial is not enough as the product has glitches that need at least a year to uncover. After they are uncovered, there are no solutions.This is one of the most useless product in the market lured by false claims and advertisements.

        MagicJack — excessive use and you are out

        I got Magic Jack last year and everything was fine. However, I recently married to a woman with a 18 year old...

        MagicJackcan't dial a certain number

        For 5 months I have been trying to get Magic Jack to respond to a problem with dialing a certain phone number. Every time I dial this number, I get a message "your call cannot be completed as dialed". The number currently is and has been in service for over 15 years. All other dialed numbers work except this specific one. Numerous "chats" and promises of having their so-called "engineers" look into the problem with promises they would contact me have resulted in NOTHING BEING DONE. I cannot and will not recommend Magic Jack to anyone who wants good reliable phone service. MJ will not replace or exchange my unit.

          MagicJackscam artist from usa

          Had purchasedthis product over the internet. Its nothing but a piece of garbage. As soon as i did purchase it they debited my credit card for the amount although they say there is a 30 day period. I spent over 7 hours on the chat with them as they have no land line. This company is nothing better than a scam artist. I have still not got my refund even after sending there garbage back & have confirmation that they have received it. Dont even try this product .

              I purchased Magic Jack from Walmart in hopes to decrease my monthly phone bill and also have long distance. Low and behold it sucked! I purchased it last Friday hooked everything up and had a dial tone one minute and tried to call my husbands cell phone (he was sitting right next to me), and his phone didn't even ring. Then I hung up and couldn't get a dial tone for a while. Then I called my cell phone and my cell phone was ringing and then hung up the home phone through MJ and my cell kept ringing. I purchased the 1 year warranty when signing up and they tell me it is non-refundable. It's very minimal but that's not the point. Oh yeah and they tell you they can transfer your number but they don't tell you they charge you for it. Customer Service is good for nothing and they do not have a phone number to contact a real person...BUYER BEWARE!!! Try something else...because this product is a joke and not worth the aggrevation!

            Hello, a few days ago I sent a complaint about the MagicJack company and how they are forcing their older clients to buy the new MagicJackPlus. I then received an e-mail from the CEO Dan Borislow's offering the MagicJack for $34.95. It stated that I could receive this reduced price by clicking on the provided link in the e-mail. I would have liked to take advantage of this price, but when I clicked on the link, it wouldn't open up, just like their link for livechat. Im so fed up with this company and they have lost all credibility in my eyes. WHAT A FARCE !!!

                I have been using the product Magic Jack for two years now, and it is wonderful. It works very well, and I have saved a lot of money up to now. I wouldn't give it up for the world. The problem is the company itself. I tried to contact them for a question, and was still in front of the screen waiting for the agent to answer my question over an hour later. There is no phone number, no address, and the "live agent" kept pressing prerecorded answers like "I am sorry for the delay, I will be with you shortly", one after the other. I finally received the answer I was waiting for over an hour and two agents later, and between every message, there was a wait of around ten minutes of prerecorded answers. I was so frustrated, I asked where I could file a complaint, and the site they gave me hasn't worked. The product is wonderful, the company smells like a dead rat.

                  Had MagicJack just over a year and it worked...okay. One month after I renewed the subscription for two years I returned home from 3 days away to find they had deactivated my account. I contacted them through their 'live chat' and was told it was deactivated for over use. No one had even been at the house during that time frame, no one could have used the phone. I lost two years subscription, the phone number, and have a box full of business cards that are useless now (because of the phone number). I explained to them no one could have used the phone, they said there was nothing they could do about it. My new goal in life is to disuade everyone I can from using their 'services'. With new competitive products on the market now who actually have customer service I see a steep decline in Magicjack sales coming...

                      The owner and Inventor of this company is Dan Borislow and he lives in Palm Beach Florida. He also has a Facebook page. I think it is time to get the federal government involved with his fruad. There is an articular in the newspaper in Palm Beach paper. It seem he has other problems.
                      May be if enough people contact him he will return all the money he owes. He is a real scam artist.

                    My credit card bill recently showed an unauthorized charge for Magicjack.
                    I haven´t used it in more than a year.
                    I checked the website for an address or email to contact them to no avail.
                    They say they have online help 24/7 so I logged into that and gave up after an hour.
                    Then I googled Magicjack complaints and found this site and another site which just dedidates itself to rebuttals and denials of complaints from Magicjack: http://www.magicjackscam.org
                    Seems they have the resources to keep an active webesite dedicated to complaint rebuttal but no way to easily reclaim unauthorized charges.

                        What a piece of junk this equipment is! Our address location didn't have enough "upload speed" to have this device. Cancelled service and then on the renewal date, it AUTOMATICALLY deducts another year of service, without your consent. These people DO NOT have a customer service telephone number. You have to CHAT with some numb nuts and never get anywhere. I will file a complaint with every company that allows you to do so. This company should be shut down.

                        WARNING!! I purchased Magic Jack 6 months ago and it stopped working. The problem is that it is impossible to get customer care. They provide no one to talk to. There are no contact phone numbers. They do have buttons on their site for customer care, but when you click them, they eventually loop you back to the main page. Very frustrating! Go to the site and try to contact someone. I am at my wits end an am giving up... I thought you should know this before recommending it to your viewers.

                        Worked fine for the 1st month and a half. Overnight, it stopped working. Their website is as difficult to navigate as Walmarts'. It took me 30 minutes to find a Customer Chat line. I was disconnected from the chatline on 4 different occassions and spoke with 8 agents over a nine hour period. The piece of crap still doesn't work. No one of their end seems to know what their doing and everyone you talk to wants to walk you thru the same nine hundred steps wiping other software off your computer (that they say is incompatible with magicJack - funny thing it worked for over a month with that same software on my machine). The product is great in theory and useless in practice. If you threaten one of their agents by saying you're going to use some other voip service, they'll disconnect you. There is NO actual phone number to call and you can tell by their dialect, their 'agents' are not American. Which, in and of itself, is most likely half the problem. Take my advice folks - keep your 39.95 and use it to pay for 3 months of quality Vonage service. The only magic this jack has is the works one minute - broke the next magic!

                        I visited the magicjack.com website after seeing an advertisement for it online. I purchased the product and when it arrived it did not work as described. I have tried contacting anyone from the company. At the website there is no 800 number online online assistance in the form of a internet operator who gives live help with names like Janice or Robert. In reality the person you are speaking to is located in an office in India or Europe, but not in the States. They need to teach the it guys or girls there better English. I assume that is why there is no direct 1800 number

                        I have tried configuring my pc in every fashion suggested bye the online operators there. This product has never worked as described. I will admit for a month calls would actually go through but would never allow me to complete the calls. They would drop all the time. I have asked the online operator, IT people on numerous occasions for a phone number to call so that I may speak with someone about returning the product and attaining a refund. Every time I asked they either avoid the question and or just drop my session online with them.

                        If I steal from anyone in the State of New York in the United States, or any other state for that matter, I would be arrested for theft. Why am I allowed to be robbed? Why is someone not being arrested? This hurts and frustrates me and I would like retribution in the form of a refund or a government agency to fine them or shut down the site. These people are thieves and this needs to stop immediately!

                        What a nightmare buying magicJack has been. Once I got it, it didn't work. There were no instructions. The 1-2-3 they say was wrong from the get-go. I got tech support on line, after navigating my way through the cyber jubgle they put up to insure you can't get to them. However, I wish I hadn't! They had me do things to my computer in an effort to get the device working that resulted, after being online with them for over five hours, in my losing my CD/DVD player burner.

                        The techs were arrogant and condescending...and I bet all were from Pakistan/India. I say all because I had to keep getting back to them. One tech told me to do something that ended up with my computer freezing up...had to just pull the plug and start over. Avoid this product at all cost...save yourself, save your money!

                        My connection has not worked with MajicJack for about 8 months. The only service that I could find cost the customer. I have now found chat and this is their only form of communication.
                        I have been working with majicjack techs for days and hours trying to get me service to work. No one has been able to get it to work longer than our conversation lasts. As soon as I close the window with one of their top 10% the service stops working.
                        This is my business number and I have been loosing business. Customers receive a message stating: no longer a working number or no longer in service.
                        I have asked them to let me speak to their boss or the owner and they change the subject.
                        I am now trying to get a landline and other companies have a difficult time getting the number because it is registered to majicjack. The last person that I spoke with told me that I could pay them $30.00 after the other company sends a request, this is after just paying for my renewal. I had to pay for the renewal because this is my business number and they would not release the number or the information to me.
                        If I had a way of contacting the owner I would!!
                        I have been loosing business from almost the time of service from MajicJack! I am a very unhappy customer!

                          I have had Magic Jack working for about 6 months. Submitted a request to port my phone number about 6 months ago; nothing has happened . Today I went on line to check my account; no record of any porting request. Submitted another porting request. This time Magic Jack wanted a $20 fee to do it. Gave them credit card no. and submitted request. Email from them said they could not port my phone number because my provider BellSouth said a porting request is already in process. I guess I am out $20. I wonder if anyone has ever had their number ported to MagicJack or is this a hoax?
                          BTW; after initially setting up MagicJack in Florida with no problems(Emachine with Windows 7, Brighthouse cable for ISP), I moved to another location with different computer and router and experienced call dropping. Had to change router to cure this problem. Magic Jack is now successfully running on XP and VISTA. The problem router was a 10 year old Linksys WRT54GS with latest firmware. I changed firmware from Linksys over to DD-wrt and problem of dropped calls was cured.

                              Magic jack ported out my phone number 4 days after I canceled my account and now my phone carrier wants 69.99 to get it back. When I called magic jack they told me my account was canceled on the 16th and I asked why then did they take my phone number on the 20th if my account was already canceled. They told me I had to chat with someone online. When I did the online chat, they told me my account was still active. I think they didn't want to agree they were wrong. So I asked them: how do I cancel my account again? they said all I have to do to cancel is to just stop using my magic jack, thats funny because I wasn't using magic jack. It was returned to the store on the 16th so How can I still have magic jack when I don't even own magic jack. If you need tech support, you have to chat online and they put you on hold for 20 minutes after each question. It has taken me 5 days and I still did not get any answers

                              I couldn't get my magic jack to work so I canceled my account the day after I tried to set it up and asked them not to port my phone number from my phone current carrier because i'm going to stay with them. My account was canceled on the 16th and on the 20th of that same month they took my phone number. Now I can't get my phone number back from magic jack and they told me I never canceled. I asked them to please cancel it again and they told me all I had to do to cancel was to stop using it, I never used it, it was never in service. I don't even own a magic jack anymore. Do not use magic jack. You can't speak to anyone on the phone, you have to chat on the computer and they take forever to say anything and they don't actually answer your questions, they say the same thing over and over agin. It's like they don't even read what you type.

                            MagicJacktaking unathorized money from my visa

                            I ordered the magic jack and could not get SK. area code. So I returned it aprox 12 days later. It was a 30 day trial.They biiled me for the Phone and 6 years phone charges. I have never been reimbursed and they now took $85.22 off my visa Sept 6 almost two months after I returned it. Their Phone number Is not manned by anyone and they are like a phantom company. This is a total scam!!! The CEO of this company should be in jail.I would like to inform the authorities of this and have these ripoff artists stopped.

                                I confirmed there were no Saskatchewan numbers before ordering. Them having no phone customer service does suck but otherwise device works (I took a Calgary number). At the very least, it saves me the min $10/month Sasktel was charging for outgoing long distance. Worth the price in my opinion but I also have a cell for local incoming calls (if local caller doesn't have unlimited LD plan).
                                Before you spend your money, BECOME INFORMED on what you will be spending your money on -- then there are no surprises.
                                'Works in Canada' doesn't mean 'we offer Saskatchewan area codes' -- it means the 'VOIP phone service works in Canada'...

                              i have now for a tried for a week to clear my account all i did was ask my bank what happened to 41.92 dollar trans ferr to my acount in magic jack this has been going on now for a week and i still did not get an answer i called twice the billing phone # to square my account away and they hung up on me twice totally discurtious her answer to me was we do not care to have you as a coustomer !!! and hung up on me . as of this minute i am still trying to clear my account just do not know how to since the company refused to let me talk to a manager who has the nessesary authority to help me clear my account . is there anybody in the magic jack office who i can contact to accompish this ??????????????

                                I am very computer savvy so I pity the layman who buys a Magic Jack trying to configure it every time he wants to use it, but I Bought a MagicJack, paid the money, had to re-boot the Magicjack every time I used it, had to contact online help all the time to receive updates
                                and generally waste a lot of time for no Joy. I then used the magic jack to call, the Magicjack dropped out repeatedly, and when it did
                                work it sounded like ###. Next because the MagicJack stopped working all together so I went back to MagicJack online support & they
                                informed me that the problem with this geniacal little piece of ### was (Get this for brilliant business plan/scam). I had now violated
                                the terms of service and had been terminated because (get this). I had exceeded 20 calls per day and in the fine print of the terms of service
                                the Magicjack server determines any user that places more than twenty call per day (or 5 times the average use of a "Normal" magicjack
                                customer) is automatically terminated, but don't worry because the owner of MagicJack is on his Private Island on his 100, 000, 000
                                million dollar yacht, and there is nothing you could do about it. When I called the online customer service and explained that I had been terminated because the MagicJack DOES NOT WORK and drops out all the time causing the customer to re-dail possibly more than twenty times a day, (and that I have broadband I had tested running at 20-50 mbps which is about a fast as it get's, so that is not an issue), they said they have no control over the BIG BROTHER MAGIC JACKER terminator computer that decides who abuses the service every time you redial because of a drop-out and the MAGICJACKER that is plagued with problems and inability to work anything like a normal phone service.
                                This is a brilliant business plan by the MAGIC JACKER to MAGICALLY JACK the customer. They make a JACK-OFF out of me. The MAGIC JACKER is a piece of crap & the guy who invented this is a scam artist who programs the server to JACK the customer. How are you going to sell a piece of crap like this and then terminate the customer. I had that Jack for a year didn't use it at all renew-ed used it too many times on one day and got jacked by them for the fact THAT PIECE OF ### DOESN"T WORK. When I chatted with customer support they terminated that conversation as they had no answer but they had no control over the MAGIC JACKING of customers and they just answered chat requests and not questions.. ###s. DON'T GET MAGIC JACKED. Anything that looks to good to be true, IS. #1 It doesn't work, #2 You can't make too many calls so count your calls (maybe like a guy in jail marking the days on the wall in chalk) # 3 if the MAGIC JACKER BIG BROTHER COMPUTER thinks your making too many calls then it will terminate you and there will be noting anyone can do for you. Fornicate MAGIC JACKS whole family and the 2 little dogs. False advertising with a built-in terminator and more technical problems than a 1979 FIAT car.

                                  MagicJackunlawful credit card charges.

                                  I received an email from MagicJack saying they have billed my credit card for a new magicJack and if I do not want it I have to answer by replying to the email. I checked my credit card and discovered that indeed they have truly billed me $10.48.

                                  To me - this is a JOKE and purely disgusting. What is this offer that comes out of my own bank account to a magicjack that I already have? What should I do with two units??? Why would MagicJack log in to my credit card and just generously bill me? why do they have my credit card number while I have deleted it of their website?????

                                  I cannot imagine how much I disrespect such a company now. I cannot wait till I send this and go and delete my magicJack no matter what the consequences are. To me MagicJack are praying on the innocent people who do not check their statements. Many similar emails gets deleted just because they look like spam and I truly sympathize with the innocent people who do not read their credit card statements clearly. I also do not understand – How can we trust giving credit cards information on the internet if a company who once I respected (magicJack) just loosely bills me as if my money is a pond of water on the street and any passerby can dip their tongues in.

                                  Good luck you all MagicJack users. the Internet has truly become a disgusting place where fraud is loose and there is no one soliciting. just like big fish eating the little fish.

                                  regards... and it is time for me to delete my magic-jack - that is if they allow me to do this without wasting 2 hrs of my time fishing for information.

                                    MagicJackpreventing calling other provider's server

                                    I have a magic jack internet phone line. I wanna call my own long distance service provider in toronto which is called startec and its phone number is [protected]. Magic jack reroutes me to their own long distance service provider which is wimax. I contacted them 3 times and had chat with their top tec-supports. They don't give me a proper answer, just telling me "this is a routing problem". But I can call my cell phone which it's number is very similar to startec. Obviously they want to force people to use their long distance service.
