LG 30 cu French door refrigerator purchased 1/31/25, $2,716. 6/6/26 cooling system failed & all freezer items had to be discarded. Called local repairman, $149 nonrefundable fee for house call, who stated compressor needs replacing, & we have a 5-year warranty with LG & he could not fix & advised we needed contact company for repair. 5-year warranty on compressor is listed in the owner's manual we received upon purchase. We have contacted company 4 times, and each time the next day the request has been cancelled by LG. A repair company was listed on first request for repair; however, they stated they do not do business any longer with LG. The fifth time I contacted LQ customer service, I advised them that due to them cancelling of our requests it would appear they cannot find a repair person, I would like some kind of reimbursement. Refrigerator cost $2,716; I had to discard over $300 in unthawed food. and as it has been over 2 weeks, without a refrigerator, unfortunately, we will have to purchase another refrigerator. We are a retired couple, on a fixed income and having to purchase another refrigerator, since the company just seems to discard & ignore our requests, is quite frustrating and upsetting. Customer service very unhelpful. I felt that we purchased our refrigerator from a reliable company, yet it seems like that does not appear to be the case, and the warranty is not going to be honored.
Claimed loss: all freezer and many items in refrigerator had to be discarded due to cooling system failure. Need a new operating refrigerator
Desired outcome: replacement refrigerator or a refund that could be used toward the purchase of a new refrigerator since this refrigerator only lasted 14 months.
