LG Electronics LG is the worst!

What a terrible experience with LG customer service. I had a warranty claim, it took them three weeks to figure out how to deal with it, I had to argue strenuously to not lose $600 to their attempt to fix the appliance, in the end, a customer service rep blames me for the fact that I still have to spend $500 for a warranty claim. I will never buy an LG appliance again.

Recommendation: Do not buy LG appliances.

You’ve definitely made it clear — LG Electronics really dropped the ball here. Three weeks to handle a warranty claim, only to leave you out $500? And then trying to shift the blame onto you? That’s not how customer service should work. It sounds like LG has lost a customer for good, and with service like that, it’s no surprise.

LG Electronics Lack of warranty repair support

This posting would be my 5th today. Our LG refrigerator stopped cooling over 7 weeks ago and, still out of commission. I was not aware during that time that LG have an existing 5 year extended warranty of their refrigerator ours included due to faulty compressor. Online research led me to the extended warranty and in the process, requested over the phone repair request with LG's customer service with weekly call/chat for update of said request. Just last week, I spoke with one of the supervisors requesting escalation of my request. Today, I learned that my repair request was cancelled due to lack of third party services! And out of desperation, I sent two emails over a week ago to LG's President hoping to get assistance but, still waiting for response/result! I am fully aware of the current environment (covid) but, I refuse to believe that a big corporation such as LG is powerless or, incapable of exerting influence to third party service providers to help it's customers! Specially considering the length of time our refrigerator have been out of service! I am tired of the lip service I get every time I make the call/chat to the customer service! To those reading this post; save yourself the headache specially during this current environment and stay away from LG Brand refrigerator until the company can get it's act together.

LG Electronics Worst customer service ever!

Case Number VCN [protected] LG Dishwasher LDP6797BD. Error code LE (BAD Motor) called 800 # young lady was very nice ut informed me that I had to pay for a service tech to receive a motor on a 10 year warranty that's only in year 5. Understanding that she can't change police I asked for a supervisor. Speaking with Lynn while very polite and friendly also produced no results outside of we will call you back. and there was no higher level to go to. LGs self diagnostic system is claiming bad motor so just send me a motor! i get it they do not want to pay labor on a 5 year old machine. well neither do I so honor your warranty and send a motor. The Idea that they will only send a motor to a licensed tech (ROFL there is no official federal license for appliance repair and as for my state there is no licensing either) outside of being approved by LG. So then why offer the warranty if your not going to honor it? Nothing in the warranty say you must have a licensed technician. I feel their products are fairly well built and things do sometimes go wrong but don't argue and try to get out of every malfunction your products have. If you offer a warranty, then honor it and don't give people a hassle when they try to use it. LG already has a bad reputation for customer service!

Purchased a brand new out of the box LG STUDIO RANGE two weeks ago. It arrived one week ago and the oven function repeatedly gives F9 error codes. When I called for support the technician could not come to service it for four days. This is a brand new stove. This does not give me a good feeling about the longevity of the appliance. I think I should have the option to receive a new replacement stove.

LG Electronics Refrigerator

I am an 85 year old who purchased an LG refrigerator around 10 years ago. The unit stopped working and fortunately I have a 22 year old Amana working strong in my laundry room so I move the food to it. The compressor was still under warranty but the labor was not so I purchased the flat rate repair for $350. The repair man fixed the unit and it worked for three days and totally failed again. The repair man returned and fixed the unit again but the freezer never really reached the -4 degree set point and floated between 1 and 10 degrees. The ice cream never really froze solid so I called LG and the repair man returned and indicated the unit was working fine and cheap ice cream doesn't always get hard. I let it go and now 100 days later the unit has failed again. The labor was only warranty lasted 90 days so I plan on buiying a decent unit and recommend no one buy LG products. I will also stop looking at their TVs and some other appliances I was looking at upgrading.

Desired outcome: This company needs to listen to their customers and fix products correctly that really are not that old. My Amana as I have stated is still working strong in laundry room after 22 years.

LG Electronics LG Dishwasher LDF5545ST

We purchased this dishwasher brand new, it has been in service for about 4 years now and as of 5/18/2024, the dishwasher was put to use last night and began to emit a buzzing noise like it was sparking or arcing. I pulled the front cover open to see where the noise was coming from and noticed the plug to the right of the motor began shooting sparks out of it and was smoking. I have contacted LG and they have agreed to send out a tech to diagnose it to pin point the issue.

LG Electronics LG 77 inch oled model c2

I purchased a 77 inch C2 0LED TV about 10 months ago for about the first six months the TV seems to be working fine and a couple months ago I noticed two of my HDMI ports were not working. Call LG in fact had to call them a few times and they had a technician call and I told him what was going on and he said it's most likely the main assembly or because the HDMI port part about two weeks later repaired the TV and everything seem to be fine about a month ago. I know picture didn't look right and dark scenes that should be pitch black were not. And as some time went on the TV appeared to have a green TINT very noticeable and dark areas called LG up they had me take some pictures and they wanted me to run a pixel cleaning three consecutive days. I did that it changed nothing and I sent them after pixel cleaning. They said they would escalate and somebody would get in touch with me in 2 to 3 business days that didn't happen. I had to call them and they kept insisting that it was burning or image retention which it was neither it just had a pretty good green to it. So once again, I was told that somebody would get in touch with me. Also they were supposed to email me a case number. What would that never happened a few days go by. I don't hear anything again called asked to speak to a supervisor was put on hold for over 30 minutes and then hung up on, I called the next day very frustrated and told them something needed to be done once again for the fourth time they assured me somebody would call me once again that did not happen now this is taken in a timeframe of about three weeks so the next time I told him if something was not done, I would report them to the Better Business Bureau or consumer affairs the next day I got a call from supposedly somebody and the technical department and he told me that they were going to replace the panel. I don't understand with electronic companies like Sony Samsung and LG. They want to diagnose your product over the phone they do not want to send a technician out to look at it and confirm what's wrong, so I said when are they going to replace the panel and do you even have the panel they said yes we have the panel technician will be in touch with you when they are going to come out and I questioned him about the panel on their warehouse website or the keep the parts or the parts come from told me that the panel was on back order which I already knew and I told him that and he assured me they had a panel so I got off the phone. I called and spoke to somebody which is in Georgia and they told me that they haven't had panels for a couple months, so I called the next day to LG told them what they said and they told me the person I was supposed to contact you. They can't do the job because they're having problems that their shop said to the rep representative. Why don't you just replace the panel is $2007.80 plus you're going to have to pay to have the panel installed. I said at that price why don't you replace the TV because the TV is $2299 from cost aspect it makes no sense to repair they said, somebody would take a look at the case and get back to me why I know they cannot get the panel the three days that I looked on their website the availability it moves up a day of between the 28th to the fifth and today it's from the 29th to the sixth so every day it moves up one day and I told him I said there's a difference between out of stock and backorder. I have a stock just means that usually your next shipment will have the.part but if it's on back order that could be any time from say tomorrow to six months from now or they may not be able to get one this is my dilemma they have atrocious customer service. I had to see the panel was bad for two months. They jerk me around, admitted to the panel still sent me an email and wanted to know how my repair went. I called QVC where I purchased it, but it had been over six months QVC you have a 30 day return policy do you know without hesitation, they sent somebody to pick the TV up. They got it in and inspected it refunded my money. in full that's amazing. Another company handles LG's defective products better than LG

LG Electronics Buyer beware!

I have been dealing with ongoing issues regarding a warranty claim for nearly 5 months, and have spent endless hours in contact with LG to have received little to no support whatsoever.

We purchased a LG refrigerator through Costco, the compressor failed within the 1 year warranty period and we lost all of the food in our fridge and freezer as a result. LG sent a repair technician who deemed it could not be repaired. After a month of numerous calls to LG and literally going in circles trying to get some sort of response they arranged for a replacement fridge to be sent. Their delivery company showed up with a completely unwrapped fridge, with no cardboard or even protective film on the outside. The fridge had significant damage to the stainless steel on every door, the display panel is rippled, and had what appeared to be large blotches of grease sprayed up one side. The delivery company advised for us to note the damage and unwrapped condition of the fridge on the delivery paperwork and advised us LG would take care of any needed repairs - note we had been without a fridge for a month at this point. We made note of the damages on the paperwork as advised.

We connected the water source ourselves, ensured there was no leaking and then pushed the fridge back into place. 2-3 days later on March 2nd, 2021 I found water leaking from the exhaust fan in our basement washroom, that was directly below the fridge. We found the water to be coming from inside the fridge, not from the connection itself. LG was again contacted and sent a repair company, who found that the valve inside the fridge was incorrectly installed and missing two parts, that would have resulted in the leaking from the interior valve and explained why the leak was intermittent and would not have been detected. They returned and repaired the valve, and took additional photos of the damage to the fridge exterior to send them independently to LG. Estimates to repair the damages to our home are approximately $5000.

Since that time we have again had to place countless calls to LG to elicit any kind of support. Eventually, 3 months later on June 2nd, I finally received a communication from LG providing me yet another claim statement for completion and requesting additional information. They at that time advised that the exterior damage was 'cosmetic' and that because we allowed delivery, and even though we noted it on the delivery receipt, they would not be repairing any of it. Once I provided the completed claim statement, repair estimates, and additionally requested information I was advised that the issue would now be passed to the liability team in the US and will take another 1-2 months to be processed. The contact I had been dealing with in Canada indicated that I could reach out to her if I were to have any additional questions, but now has blocked emails from me so we are literally back to square one with no contact information with anyone to follow up with.

LG Electronics LTE4815 Range

The top oven had hot spots and didn't evenly cook. Not it just burns everything. I paid a serviceman to come out and fix the problem. He claims the problem is the computer (mother?) board. The repair estimate is almost the cost of a new range. I called LG and had to contend with the live bot agents. I got disconnected 3 times before I finally got one to stay on the line only for her to repeat everything I had read along the long involved process as to the possible problems. I answered each probable cause with no nd told her I had already read through the whole list. I was then told to send a picture of the label -which wasn't where I was told I would find it. I had to pull the entire range out and use my phone to take a picture of a code on a table half way down the back of the range. Mind you I am 75 years old. This wasn't an easy thing for me to do. When all was said and done I was told since the range was over 1 year old it was not longer under warranty and I had to call a repairman. The range isn't even 2 years old. What a piece of CRAP! The customer service was as impersonal as they could possibly make it and offered no real solutions, You are never given a chance to actually talk to anyone. It appears that only persons flipping through books for written responses is all you get and it take 2-4 minutes for each response since they aren't really knowledgeable for any of their products.

LG Electronics Update on lg side by side french door refrigerator

Update on Jan 29 post.

Lg said they would not pay for the $575 service call or the spoiled food. They said they would extend my warranty for 5 years to the original 5 years so when the compressor breaks again I can g through all of this again. I have had to run out and buy a $150 small refrigerator so my husband and I can have some fresh food in the house until FEB 6 when hopefully it will be fixed.

Time will tell and it will be stressful for a while anticipating what will break next and how long it will work. Some people said a few months later it became inoperative again.

Also wondering if this compressor is new or refurbished.

Claimed loss: $165 plus 65 plus $575 plus unknown as of now in food spoilage.

Desired outcome: All moneys reimbursed and guarantee of no more failures of compressor for 20 years length of claim for it to work by LG Corp.

LG Electronics LMXS30796S

Bought refrigerator in August of 2018 for new house.

Yesterday Jan 27 refrigerator and ice maker stopped working in late day.

Could not reach anyone for emergency service and have lost tons of food. Husband ran out to get dry ice for two coolers $65.00 and the rest spoiled and had to be thrown out.

Looked up on line and found out about class action law suit against LG.

Called their customer service number this morning and was told well it's nearly 5and 1/2 years so tough. The compressor part is under warranty but the labor cost,several hundred dollars is on us.Here is the number call for our repair person.

We are seniors in our 80's and on SS and the cost of this repair as well as loss of expensive food stored in the refrigerator is financially draining for us.

We have other LG products because we thought they were good, my husband was a part time worker in Lowes in their appliance dept for a year after retirement and thought LG was good and responsive to customer complaints.

We are now waiting for tomorrow morning trying to cope with little food. 5years and 5 months and we are left holding and expensive financial bag.

LG Electronics Bad compressor on refrigerator

I talk today to Porsche from your elite presidential team, and she basically laughed in my face and was not going to help me, and she was not concerned with me at all, as a loyal customer. I have over $10000 worth of LG products in my home and they didn't even want to help me with a $500 bill for labor.

You would think that a company that makes billions of dollars a year would want to help one of their loyal customers.

LG Electronics dishwasher LDFN454

Vapors emitted fromNEW unit when in use. Smell like petroleum based. Throat irritation and headaches noted when unit is in use. Kitchen required all windows to be opened with lingering vapors. Home Depot/LG contacted. Unit was replaced with same model and the problem occurred again. Did research on internet and it appears its a problem with the insulating material used reduce noise levels in unit when in use. Material is BITUMEN. Similar to asphalt. LG tech didn't stay here long enough thru cycle to smell the vapors. Tech and I smelled the insulating materials and I identified the odor within the insulation...vapors are intensified as unit cycles thru. Tech stated it could also be the lubricant material used in processing...numerous complaints of this nature on internet. Plastic tub dishwashers reportedly use less of the offending materials so that hopefully will be the solution.

Claimed loss: No financial loss

Desired outcome: want unit removed and proceed with purchase of plastic tub unit. Unit bought from home depot in surprise az

Can't understand why appliances such as the one noted with LG dishwasher are allowed to make it to the stores for purchase. The situation is an indoor environmental issue...who wants petroleum based fumes in their home which don't go away even with LG recommendations to mitigate the problem. Plan to contact the EPA about this incident.

LG Electronics Refrigerator

We bought a refrigerator two years ago from lg. It stopped working mid December 2023. They sent a tech out employed by LG themselves. Tech said he couldn't fix it. They got a third party repairman to fix it and he said that the first tech broke more on the refrigerator. He ordered parts and they didn't come until after new years. The third party tech said he ordered everything that could be replaced on this refrigerator. It didn't work so on 1/11/24 he sent in a report to LG and said it would be before Monday that they contact us. They didn't, we called them today 1/15/24 and they acted as if we were jumping the gun and needed more info from us. They finally said that they could give us and $1,100 store credit. The fridge we bought was $1,800 and the $1,100 wouldn't even cover the cost of the new fridge. We said that they needed to cover the cost as we are under warranty and not at fault. Finally they said they would give us enough to pay for the fridge but that we'll have to pay them to take away the bad one. I haven't had a refrigerator for 5 weeks and now I have to pay for their negligence? They also will not rush the shipping so we won't have a refrigerator for another 2 weeks. That's almost 2 months. Their service has been disgusting and the way we were treated was extremely disrespectful. Not to mention that we have no way of keeping food cold and therefore have had to buy meals every night from the store or elsewhere costing us much more than our regular food budget.

Desired outcome: I want them to pay for expedited shipping and refund me the original price of the refrigerator. If not, at least the cost to have them take away the old refrigerator.

Purchased Home Depot 1/23/2023 on 12/8/2023 fan broke and stopped cooling fridge. 2 days for Texh to come out who didn’t bring fan part even though knew that’s what it was. LG Electronics Horrible customer service

I have a refrigerator that is barely 3 years old, that on Thanksgiving 2023 died, I lost HUNDREDS of dollars in food, meat and drinks. When I called lg to have it repaired I was asked to wait 3-5 business days... on the end of day 5 they still didn't have anyone to repair it and asked again to be patient with no time frame set this round. The representative was rude, the service is lack and apparently their products are horrible... no wonder they have such lengthy vague warranties that don't cover anything.

Claimed loss: $1500

LG Electronics LG Refrigerator

LG quality is terrible and they have sneaky warranty policies. Bought a fridge, the compressor stopped working after 2 years, repair cost $1000 and lost food cost, additional few hundred. LG customer support tells me warranty does not apply, because it was a returned item, I had no idea it was returned. Shame on them. It’s their and product it’s almost new, they should take responsibility and fix it. Not nice to stick a customer with repair cost.
