I have written 12 letters to your corporate offices, countless email, hours on the phones and all to no avail.
I am reaching out in regards to Kia Consumer Assistance Center Case#[protected].

I have been trying to reach someone for 113 days at this point. I email the consumer assistance center daily. No one will respond.

Snow White Pearl paint peeling
Start by saying, I am an employee for a major auto manufacturer in the US, and I work in the paint/plastics department. I deal with all things paint 40 hours a week, I have knowledge backed to my issue.
I purchased a 2013 Kia Optima SXL with the Snow White Pearl paint in September of 2021. When I purchased the vehicle I had noticed a few spots where the paint had chipped on the hood, smaller then a penny, and also the driver and passenger pillars, again all very small that I had assumed was from the previous owner. Fast forward to February of 2022 we had our first snow and after cleaning my car a massive chunk of paint on the hood above the driver headlight peeled off and caused bubbles expanding the peel to bigger than a basketball in size. This is a problem directly related to the clear coat not being set properly and/or the cure time for the paint to settle was short cut.
After hours of online searching I have learned that this is a very common problem, probably more common than the engine recall as the paint problem affects all models and years specifically with the Snow White Pearl color. I am currently at the dealer and when I raised the questions to the service writer “it’s out of warranty and out of his control.” That’s understandable from his end. But from a company, UNNACCEPTABLE. If this issue were to ever happen at my company all owners would not be told to drive around in zebra paint job vehicle they pay thousands of dollars for. This issue will ultimately lead to rust and washing salt off the car during winter is a big mistake unless you want the paint to peel more.
Kia needs to fix this issue and own up to the fact, like they did with the engine recall, that they made a mistake and the owner parking outside or using a carwash is not the source of this major defect.
Desired outcome: I expect to have my car painted properly and not have to go through my insurance provider to have it done.
Dealership not honoring warranty
7 monthes ago I took my KIA to the only dealership in town for warranty work, (a defective driver door lock actuator), and they said they needed to order that part to fix the problem. I called them after no word from them for 3 months and they said the part had not come in. I visited them after 6 months of waiting and they said they had switched to a new computer system and my information had been lost. It's now been 7 months since first taking my car to them and there is no response from them.
I have to enter my car from the passenger door and lean across the front seats to unlock the driver door. I don't know what to do. KIA motors said in a letter to owners there door handles were breaking and extended the warranty to 10 years for this problem. I feel it's going to take ten years to get a dealership to honor that warranty.
Desired outcome: Please direct me to a honest dealership that can fix my driver door lock actuator. I've been patient 7 months waiting on my home town dealership to call and fix this problem but they are instead stalling, and ignoring me.
“Mechanical Failure” of engine
2015 Kia Soul caught on fire while driving. I was initially told it was from a recall (which I did not know about) but then was later told it was not from that recall and that it was not covered. I still owe almost $8000 on a car that I would have to replace the engine on if I want to continue to drive it. There is less than 100,000 miles on this car. I’m going to be paying for a car that does not run and will still have to finance another car on top of this one. I am angry, frustrated and disgusted

Engine on 2016 kia soul
My engine oil was leaking at a high right even after the full synthetic oil change and now my engine light is on and there is a knocking going on. Kia dealership said I’d have to pay for it to get looked at but seeing as kia has numerous recalls about the engine I don’t feel I should be paying anything to have this serviced as it’s in my warranty. I would like to get this issue resolved in a timely manner before the engine breaks with mr driving it

2018 kia sorento
Approximately one week ago my rear washer fluid quit working and then proceeded to spray inside. I took it into service today 2/7/22. I am being charged $70 labor to reattach the hose. This should have never happened in the first place. I also purchased an extended warranty. Apparently that is no good. I get not covering items like brakes and struts, they have normal wear and tear.
I completely disagree with this charge.

Kia optima pearl white paint peeling
As everyone else on this site reports, I have a 2013 Kia Optima SX Pearl white with paint peeling on hood and area on top of driver’s door. I took to Kia dealership who says that it was out of warranty. This car has been garage parked and sat in my yard almost all day every day as I am an at home mom. There is zero excuse for this expect for a faulty paint job by Kia. You can’t even wash the car anymore. I will NEVER by another Kia due to this and the fact that Kia will not fix what they have caused.

2015 Kia Sedona

About a year ago the Paint on the hood of my 2015 Kia Sedona looked like someone was sitting on it and sliding around. Through the year the paint on the roof and rear side panels are looking the same with the hood almost down to the metal. The vehicle in always under a car port and is moved maybe 4 times per week. My local dealer said they had a problem with the paint from that year and to call the company. They did nothing saying it was past the 36 month warranty. So Kia is telling me their paint should only last 5 years then wear off?This is my third Kia but will be my last. Obviously their cars are now using cheap paint that won't stay on. Never had problems with the other two cars of which the last one was 10 years old and the paint was still shiny and present.
Desired outcome: Would like Kia to pay to have it repainted with paint that will stick.

What happened to my refund that I was supposed to get from the class action lawsuit against KIA for the ENGINE problem, and what about the trunk latch also.

I would just like to say that the Dealship sucks. I bought a 2019 Kia OPTIMA A WHEN i GOT A FLAT TIRE their wasn't even a spare tire underneath were it was supposed to be.
Desired outcome: My out come was that I HAD TO GET TOWED HOME and the next day get towed again to the repaire shop to get my tire fixed
Lied about winter tires
Had winter tires in deal when bought new car kia dealership said they would store tires till needed them then when I went for them told me I had no tires listed so phoned the dealer he would not phone back
Phoned the kia complaints they said go to dealer
Basically do not buy kia they can offer best warranty because they wont honor it

2015 Kia Optima engine
I have a 2015 Kia Optima and never received any of the recalls on this vehicle. Fast forward to December 23 2021 my engine died while I was driving it. I contacted Kia and they stated they can do nothing for me because I never did my recalls . Also stated that it was my responsibility to contact them and give them my address. Since when is this a consumers responsibility? I've owned many vehicles and never had to contact corporate to give them my address. Also as a little fyi when I called they had every detail about me and my vehicle except my physical address. That confuses me because how do they have everything except what was needed to cover my motor on my vehicle? I truly feel that as a good will gesture and what's right they should cover my vehicle repairs instead of trying to find a loop hole not too. Very upset !

I was in your exact situation and called Kia Customer Care and when they started to explain that I had not performed the recalls (my engine seized after months of oil disappearing), tell them they know my address and number and you are not entertaining that excuse. Ask for a CASE NUMBER and a representative. I had to fight, hard and peristently, but they covered all the replacement engine costs and reimbursed me for my rental. Be persistent!
Engine blown no info on recall sent because they say they had no address haven't moved and have filed under recalls before for reimbursement
I bought new Kia soul enjoyed for a long time, have had recall work done in the past and filed for reimbursement... didn't recover any money, Never got a notice about engine parts and fires recall. Now, engine locking and Kia claims they didn't have my address to send recall info... They sent them in the past. If no information is sent on recall how would I have known to have car worked on.
Desired outcome: Would like to talk to a rep about this but have been sitting on hold for an hour and have called the past 2 days and just was told today there was no address. Now can't get anyone to answer phone to answer my questions
Maybe we need to start another Class Action Lawsuit for this exact thing. They are doing the same thing to us. Spelled our email wrong and said they had the wrong address but have sent mail for the last 5 years including when the car was paid off, yet we got nothing about getting the knock sensor update thing done and there was no recall for it. So now they will not cover the damage for the bearing failures.
They need to be held accountable for their failure to notify their customers.
I am going thru the same thing as my KIA Sorento 2015 sits at the mechanic. I did go all the way to corporate and they gave me a case number only to come back and tell me that they had decided not to cover my engine. How is this possible?
Going through the same thing. I'm almost 60 years old and never called to tell someone that I had purchased one of their vehicles. Lawyer I talked to says it will cost them alot more if he gets involved.

Hey dud, i know exactly what your talking about. I had i flat tire also and when I looked for the spare tire their wasn't any. So I had to call a tow truck to to tow me to a Firestone dealership that fixes flats. I was so pissed off.

My huband and I were researching suv's with third row seating in april of 2021
The kia telluride was highly rated by comsumer reports for third row suv's
We were replacing our hyundia santa fee that did not have a third row. We needed a third row now because two more grandchildren were moving back to st louis area
We were unable to drive or sit in a telluride because of the pandemic and every dealer in st louis, mo area was out of stock and any tellurides they received were sold
We were told to order one would be three months to delivery
We found a 2021 kia ex about 5 hours from our home at a ford dealership with 15, 047 miles on it

We are not great at using technology. We are both in our seventies and we are slowly learning how to use the features on the vehicle
We were so disappointed when our son in law could not help us program our garage door opener to our vehicle. He told us we did not have the coreect rear view mirror called a home link wireless control system
We called our local kia dealer hw kia of west county on manchester road st louis, mo to inquire about this mirror. We were told the mirror and labor would be around $600
We feel this mirror should be a standard feature as it is a safty feature people use every day and especially since it was rated so highly by comsumer reports and because we spent close to $50, 000 on this vehicle
You would think you could open your garage door at that price.
We reached out to kia customer service number1 [protected] on november 29, 2021 spoke with jada we never heard back so we called again january 12, 2022 spoke with jasmine. She told us it was not a standard feature on the vehicle and since we did not buy from a kia dealership they could not help us.

2019 KIA Sedona
cold air is coming into the van around the center console even when the van is warmed up, ...it seems like it's coming from outside somehow, ...all the windows are up and the heater vents are all blowing hot air, ...yet down by the floor around the console there's cold air coming in, ...it can be felt up at seat level by the console as well, ...the whole plastic console housing is very cold, ...this seems very unusual, ...it's been going on for 3 winters now, ...the van had 7000km when it was purchaced and has about 25, 000km now, ...still new and under warranty, ...can anybody shed some light on this issue?

In February, 2021, one of the car windows had been rolled down and would not go up. The dealership fixed it and it was covered by warranty.
In October 2021, the other 3 windows did the same thing within just a few days of each other. Of course, the warranty had expired. The very same thing had broken on all of them. They were able to get the part for 1 and fixed it for $539. They could not even get the part for the other 2, but told me that when they could get it the cost would be around $1100 to get it fixed.
Two different people researched this and found this to be a common complaint from many people. Since this happened to so many, why wasn't there a recall put out and the company fix it. And why should I have to pay out the $1700 to get them fixed. This was definitely a fault of the part and not because of heavy use. I am a retired Senior who drives very little and the windows very seldom put down. The car has less than 40, 000 miles on it

Delay in car delivery
I booked KIA Picanto in July 2021 and also made the remaining payment in October 2021.
My car delivery month was December 2021 but still car is not delivered.
Worse is I have not received any official email from KIA Site regarding anything be it payment confirmation or delayed delivery.
So far, worst experience with their services.
I want my car to be delivered asap and compensation for the delay as well.

The car has had several issues ranging from tires, batteries, brakes, paint, motor mounts, broken parts being put back on, etc. I have been lied to with proof about my brakes to where I don't even feel safe driving the car. I paid for the extra warranty and have to drive across town, wasting my time and gas for at least 30 trips to the service department. The car is a nightmare along with dealing with the service department. I have never regretted buying something as much as a KIA. worst service and product ever. Nothing is ever resolved. I don't want the car, its too late for BBB, I've already tried to file a lemon law with them. What can you do to help me? I have all service records along with some photos for proif.
