Honda Civicfrequency of oil cahnge and break fluid change

I am the owner of a 2009 Honda Civic here is Israel. I jsut past 45000 KM and during the 45000 Km schedueled visit I was told by the local Honda dealer that I must change the break fluid otherwise they will not extend warranty anymore for the break system. When I asked them where does it say that in the owners manul they said it does not but the Honda was not designed to work in our local climate environment and they locally came to this conclusion. To my astonishment I also discoverd that the oil change they force us to do every 15, 000 Km and not every 20, 000KM as it is written in the manual.
So my question is why are the local people making decisions on their own just to generate additional revenue or is it true that Honda is just manufacturing an inferior product that is not compatible to the local climate here, (same as in southern Europe, Turkey, Egypt...
From some of my friends I know that other companies, Nissan, Toyota and even Hyunday, do not seem to suffer uner the local weather conditions. I would really appreciate if you could clear this up for me because in this day and age I do not need to buy a car that needs to have the breakfluid changed every 45000 KM and the oil every 15000, particulary if there are plenty of other cars that seem to be far superior in this aspect.

      Call the phone number to Honda Motor Co. that is in your owner manual and ask Honda directly. This sounds like a scam to me.

    Honda, CB Unicorn Blackunexplainable delay in delivering

    Dear Sir,

    I am a Chartered Accountant. I have booked a CB Unicorn with Vahini Honda, Karunagappally, Kollam on 12/11/2010. At the time of booking, they assured to deliver the bike with in 3.5 months. I have made arrangements for financing for the vehicle by February, 2011. Despite my frequent requests, they failed to deliver me the product yet. Now, few days to complete 6 months, they are telling that they do not have sufficient stock. I would like to know whether it is the problem of Honda or Vahini? Please let me know, whether the problem persists in every part of our country. In fact, I was a fan HONDA. But these things make to rethink. Hope you can help me at the earliest.

          i allready two time visit honda dealership in khanna city platinum honda dealer distt ludhiana, told to advisor my engine noice, poor performance but now till time my bike is not well dont know there is lake of skiled labour or miss management because there M.D.(Mr Sunny) is also involve in my case but no solution

And in this two years I have done servicing by your honda show room only. From last two weeks there is petrol leak during self star or kick start. I went to your udupi service center & shown to them. They told that there is problem in carborater and have to change spare part. Rate of part is 550/-rs. Now you tell me is it possible that carborater spare part can spoil in 4500km run.             Honda Odysseyjunk cars

            Bought a white 2001 Honda Odyssey with 135, 000 miles from them on April 14, 2011 and the check engine light came on the next day. I called them and told them the check engine light came on and I had it checked and the code said the transmission needs to be replaced. They said there is nothing they can do about it!!! Took the car to 2 different transmission shops and both said the transmission needs replaced or rebuilt. Now im having to pay to have a transmission rebuilt and an oxygen sensor on a car that I just purchased. This dealer claims to inspect every car before they purchase them and put them up for sale, if this were true they would have known this car had issues. I hope whoever reads this and wants to buy from this dealer doesn't make the same mistake i did and takes the car to a mechanic and gets it looked at first. The car also came with a 6 month aftermarket warranty and they told me I would get the cards from them in 7 days. They failed to tell me the warranty had to be approved so that's the reason I'm having to pay out of pocket to have the transmission rebuilt.

              As we all know about Honda2wheelers, Its one of the most reliable company in this world. That’s why I purchased the Honda Stunner CBF without reading any review on net, & just trusting on Honda Brand six months ago from Pashankar Auto Pvt. Ltd.Near Standard Chartered Bank, Jm Road, Shivaji Nagar
              411004, but now I am really fed up with the performance of Honda Stunner CBF (Self Disc Alloy) Registration No GIS/MUMBAI-I/1528/2001. It could not reach at my satisfactory level as I was expecting from 125 cc bikes.
              Many times mechanic/workers of the Honda service centre suggested me to sell this stunner and purchase the Unicorn as its successful bike of Honda.
              Regarding this matter, I had sent many emails to Honda PUNE to help me in exchanging this bike with Honda Unicorn.
              I thought Unicorn will be fine for me and I can pay the difference for it but there is no response from Honda Staff. It’s clear sign of the carelessness about their customer’s satisfaction.

              I trusted on Honda and feeling cheated by them.
              But I would suggest them not to forget that they are in competition in India with Bajaj, Hero Honda and Yamaha as they always give preference to their customer’s satisfaction more than anything that’s why everybody likes to deal with them.
              I am expecting help in this matter from you.

                  Now just because I have only 2 months on the warranty you promised on My Honda Civic

                  Let me any way state my case and you have the right to take it in the manner that reflects your company strategy

                  It started on July 2008 when I decided for the 1st time in my life to go for a Honda Car, or if I may say a "Honda Moving Machine"
                  I've been told that Honda is a reliable and durable brand that I can trust,
                  So I decided to go and get myself a good looking vehicle of yours
                  and I was more than happy with the great design and the lovely engine,
                  Yet could not believe myself when I received a call from your HQ in Dubai checking on me and asking if there's anything I see unsatisfying,

                  And again after the first service that showed me huge of respect your company pays to its customers

                  yet the misery starts on the 12, 000KM
                  I faced a very Dangerous Behavior on the car on the high way when I pushed the Breaks Pedal and I suddenly found the car shaking on a speed of 150 KM/H
                  I thanked god I'm alive and went to the service center and reported the issue that they responded very fast that the problem is in the "Breaks Pads"
                  I again was happy when they changed it and I went home happy that I was right to choose "Honda"

                  Then starts the series of troubles,
                  I started feeling that the Suspension of the car is not like any car I've ever used, It's too tough and you feel it's going split apart

                  I reported this issue as well and all they could say that the suspension needed to be checked but it's now fine,

                  and here's the two cases that never came to an end,

                  I've been driving this car that obviously "Has Not Passed The Quality Checks" going to perform the service on its time reporting the cases as a respectful customer, accepting the service centers "NON SENSE" clarifications they are using to trick me not to know that I've been given an unsafe, untrusted, unchecked and horrible moving machine of their brand

                  Al they cared about is to get me out of the service center and ask me to check and get back to them,

                  Do you accept this “Checking a serious problem in the breaks on the high way with my family"

                  what kind of company Misuse it's customer's life as a test just because he "TRUSTED" in them

                  and just to cut it short I've been Risking My Life and having an comfy drives with your car for three years just being a Non Trouble Maker Customer,
                  But since I've been treated with Ignorance

                  here's what have been done to my car:

                  Breaks:
                  1. Change of pedal pads for three years on the warranty (trying to hide a bigger problem existed)only one time I paid for the pads because I saw I used it for so long that I should pay it
                  2. Alignment of the "Break Disks" (That failed to fix the case )
                  3. by accident I knew that on the 12, 000KM he "Break Disks" has been changed without informing me(and obviously it didn't fix the case)

                  Suspension:
                  1. playing with the screw drivers every service and convincing me it has been done for three years,
                  2. Changing the Engine Brackets(and the engineer made me feel as if it was a favor then I knew that all the customer has changed it)
                  3. Changed the steering Box assembly

                  Note: all those changes has been done because I've made a complain to the customer service,

                  All This, and I didn't have a car except for 12, 000 KM and they can’t admit the problem and stand for it

                  I paid almost 150, 000 EGP for 12, 000 KM

                  last week I went to the service center to report the case with anger that I've been driving your car for THREE YEARS and you have been ignoring the fact that this care is done by mistake, putting my life in Danger and giving me Three Years of uncomfortably drives just because you can’t admit My car "Should Have Been replaced From The Very Beginning"

                  and the answer was..."Sir we found that the break disks need alignment"
                  WHAT??????????

                  After three years of being polite I get this???Three years is not enough for them to understand????

                  let me end this by saying that I work for a huge automotive company, and I know my rights, and I know the law and the mouth word marketing
                  and I have the after sales team in my company following up with me until I get my rights, even if we had to take it to the government or the public media,

                  I through my car in the service center last week, and told them I don't want it,
                  They called after a while to convince me to do the Alignment AGAIN,

                  When I refused they told me that they will send a report to "JAPAN" and get back to me and asked me if i want to take the car till we get the answer
                  I refused as this is not a car, and three years is more enough risk of the lives of Me, My Wife and My daughter

                  I have three cars under my house, but you OWE ME A CAR I BOUGHT THREE YEARS AGO

                    my bike number is RJ 14 GS 5981 i have given my bike to service on (akar motors) in jaipur rajasthan i am unsatisfied with their work they have given my bike and by mistake of workers of akar motors the oil pipe {chamber screw } is broken the oil is leaking from the bike and they have denied to change the part and they are simply pasting the screw with m-seal i want to change the part because further it will damage the bike..

                      Honda Shineproblems faced with honda shine

                      I am Sujai Preeth from chennai. I purchased a Honda shine bike from Kun Honda-adyar showroom on jan8th 2010. I faced severe spine problems because of this bike due to its v.worst rear shock absorbers & while driving at 60kmph it starts vibrating & produces a unbearable noise. I reported the service center of kun honda & i was told this bike gives the common problem of vibrating after 60kmph. Then why they introduced this bike & for the rear shock absorber problem they still have not given a proper solution. I am very much worried & can't able to tolerate the spine pain while driving honda shine.

                          I am suresh, purchased Honda Shine from dealer JSP-Honda Ambattur chennai on 13/03/11, When i went for second free service they refused based on time (More than 90 days) and accepted for 3rd free service. What they did is for simply changing the oil and charged Rs 225, WHEN i asked for replacement of both mirror they said no stock and no water service due to motor burnned problem. Also i have start up problem and rear suspention problem which they ignored. Very poor service rendering.

                            On December 12, 2010 my rear window in my 2006 Honda Accord exploded. I was sitting in my car waiting to pick up my daughter from a church event when there was a terribly load boom, and before my eyes the rear window just fell apart. I thought I was hit by another care, or worse, had been shot at. Glass was all over my car. I was very lucky that my daughter was not in the back seat at the time, and that we were not on the highway, driving at highway speeds.

                            My wife and I are the owner of a 2009 Honda CRV purchased at the Honda House in St. Cloud, Minnesota about 1 year ago. Incidently, this is the 2nd CRV I have purchased, we still have a 1997 model as well.

                            Today I had to shell out $435.50 for new tires and an alignment for the 2009 CRV which has 20, 061 miles on it. When I contacted the dealer I was told to contact Goodyear regarding the tire warranty. My wife and I did this and the result was they replaced the tires at a cost of $435.50 (which included the alignment).

                            The car has never had an incident to explain the alignment problem so I assume it was delivered that way. It did have approx. 300 miles on it upon delivery.

                            The tires on the car were Goodyear Integrity and at the time we purchased it we were told they were an upgrade. (thanks a lot??)

                            I find it totally unacceptable to have to deal with this when the car only has 20, 000 miles. It was not only the cost but our time to contact and work with Goodyear.

                            Previously we were one of Honda's best advocates recommending the CRV whenever asked about it (the 1997 model). Can't say we still have that enthusiasm.

                            The serial number of the car is ***************.

                            At this point the only thing that will satisfy us is a check for half of the cost of the new tires and a recognition that this isnt a normal expectation for a Honda car. We think that is a fair compensation for our time and inconvenience. We won't know if the premature wear problem is fixed until we are 20, 000 miles down the road, will we?

                            My wife and I are in our mid-sixties and we are both conservative drivers with literally no driving violation record, so if you are thinking we abused the tires don't go there!! I might also add that we have had 6-7 new cars over the years and this is the only time I have contacted customer service other than the local dealer. The point is that I am NOT a chronic complainer!

I have nothing but praise for the Service Team at the dealership I regularly go to, nothing but professional & they treat me like they VALUE my business. My hat goes off to all of you!!!


                                My nightmare began about 10 months ago when I took the G Ride in for regular maintenance at a Toronto dealership (not my regular service crew) & mentioned to the service advisor that the car sometimes hesitated when accelerating, & was on the verge of stalling when coming to a stop (the car never stalled, just sounded like it was about to). After completing the scheduled maintenance, I was advised that all was in order, & the problem was that I needed to “clean the throttle body & replace the spark plugs”. Well ok, we can do that I thought, even though changing the plugs is NOT on Honda’s maintenance schedule until much later on (160, 000 or more Kms).


                                As the weeks went by the problem became more pronounced, and my gas mileage dropped dramatically. To compound the problem, there was a significant loss of power. I took the car in to my regular dealership for a scheduled oil change & again mentioned the problem. This time, my service advisor said "That sounds like a cracked manifold, lets have a look". Sure enough he was right (the crack was SO small you had to know what you were looking for to identify it). He went on to mention that cracked manifolds were a problem with older Civic's (1999 & earlier) & that the problem had been resolved in newer models. Anyway, the cost to replace the cracked part was $1200 plus labour and taxes "when would you like to schedule that?" You can imagine what happened next….I had to take a moment to compose myself before I did something rash (not exactly my choice of words…...but y'know what I mean…I was about to pop that trunk!!!) Why should I be paying for a Honda defect…...a KNOWN problem that has allegedly been resolved!!! ### was about to go down Son!!! My service advisor suggested I follow up the issue with Honda Canada since this is a problem that, on paper, has been fixed & should not be happening to a 2002 model, regardless of the mileage.


                                So now the fun starts as I make my first phone call to Honda Canada Customer service [protected]). I was "fortunate" to have Khepra as my Customer Service agent (yeah…thanks for the "help" Khepra!!!). She was sounding all concerned until I mentioned the nature of the problem. As soon as she heard the words "cracked manifold" her attitude changed. It was like I owed her child support money or something…..she was downright hostile. "Is your car exclusively dealer maintained?", "How many miles on it?", "What were YOU doing when YOU cracked the manifold?" WT[censored] Short of pouring ICE COLD water on a RED HOT manifold, HTF do you intentionally crack a manifold???? She ended the conversation by saying she had to conduct further "investigations" and then get back to me. Six weeks went by and still nothing…...meanwhile my car is sucking gas like its on sale & there is now a distinct drone/rasping sound coming from under the hood (no doubt the crack is getting bigger). I call the dealership that does my regular maintenance & they tell me they have spoken to Khepra (she called them to find out if indeed they do service my car & whether the problem is a cracked manifold). They go on to tell me they have called & left messages for her but she is MIA, as far as they (dealership) are concerned, this is a problem that "should" be covered by Honda.


                                Finally I hear from Khepra (about 3 months after we first spoke…& trust me, I tried speaking to another Customer Service agent but was told Khepra was handling my "file"….daaaaamn, now I have a file with Honda?) I asked to speak to a Supervisor but was told none was available (I called over 15 times, there never was a Supervisor available). Khepra was non apologetic about not getting back to me in a timely manner. She told me my car had "too many miles" (150, 000 Km) & that I was basically ### out of luck & would have to foot the bill myself (this part is called the PRIMER…get you ready for a ### offer). As expected, I was like "No bloody way I'm paying for this ###, let me speak to someone else". She told me she would see what she can do & get back to me. She called back a few days later & said "Guess what, since you have maintained your car with Honda & never missed any scheduled maintenance, we will split the cost with you 50-50" Now if you ask me this is a ###ed up offer, but what are my options….take the 'deal" or get stuck with 100% of the $1, 200 repair bill. I took a few days to weigh my options, possibly talk to someone at Honda Canada who could help me. This cracked manifold issue is a known problem to Honda & yet they are unwilling to acknowledge this. After about four days I received another call from Khepra asking whether I had scheduled my car for the repair work to be done. I informed her I was mulling over my options & she made it clear to me I had only two options…take her "offer" or foot the repair bill myself. To add insult to injury, she gave me a 10 day deadline to get the repair carried out, after which Honda would retract the offer to pay half the costs……talk about pressure!!!

                                Well, I really had NO choice but to get the work done. The crew at my dealership were really sympathetic to my situation & did their best to keep the repair bill to a minimum (they managed to salvage my oxygen sensor, heat shields, most of the hardware used to mount the manifold, as well as reducing the labour hours….thanks guys!! You are the BEST!!!). My half of the bill came to just under $600 including taxes….THANKS HONDA CANADA, YOU SUCK @SS!!!

                              Honda Extended Warrantywaste of money

                              I purchased a new Honda Civic in the summer of 2002. In April my transmission has broken and I had only 50, 000 miles on it. I contacted a Honda service center and they told me they can't help me because the car is not on the warranty any more.

                              When I bought this car I also bought an extended warranty that would cover repairs up to 60, 000 miles. I told about this to Honda but because I bought this warranty from a dealership and not from them they could not provide the coverage. At least this is what they told me. They advised me to locate my warranty company and do the repairs with them.

                              To my disappointment my "extended warranty" company just went bankrupt, and they can't provide any coverage for me either.

                              Now, Honda would not back up this warranty company and I have to pay for the transmission from my own pocket. Also, I thought Honda products are more reliable...

                                  On December 12, 2010 my rear window in my 2006 Honda Accord exploded. I was sitting in my car waiting to pick up my daughter from a church event when there was a terribly load boom, and before my eyes the rear window just fell apart. I thought I was hit by another care, or worse, had been shot at. Glass was all over my car. I was very lucky that my daughter was not in the back seat at the time, and that we were not on the highway, driving at highway speeds.

                                Hero Honda Pleasuredefect in model

                                I have purchase pleasured on 11th sep, 2010. My motorcycle no is MH 14 CF 7554. But the Model is giving starting problem. It is being happened for atleast 5 to 6 times till now. Because of this problem most of the time the motorcycle stays in service center so its being incovenient for me to use now a days when its most usefull for me.

                                And this time the motorcycle gave major problem that is the kick has been jamed on 15th feb, 2011 and its been taken to service center at Shreyas Motorcycles, Lonavla. From one month no one is taking action for it as they giving silly reasons that we not getting the required parts.

                                And not only this much but we call regular to customer care but no one give response. They take our number & tell will call you and tell about it but till now no one called us and gave proper reason or answer.

                                Can u cant get a single part of bike from last 1 month. Who is responsible for this? Because of your improper service we have to face lots of problems.

                                The motorcycle is new, is this your way of business?

                                There is manufacturing defect, I want new model.

                                    I sm fscing Similar problem of kick starting with my pleasure vehicle which i purchased in May 2011 from Paud road office. Also Vehicle has Quality issues which r related to fitment of parts.
                                    I am rating 1.5 out of 5 to Hero honda pleasure.( Fuel average=35 KMPH only)

                                  I have sent my car to Honda service center for 5 times with reporting the same problem (RPM drop, car vibrants & etc). Unfortunately, it never get resolved after advising me to change or service some part of the car. $$ been paid yet my car problem still NOT RESOLVED. In fact, it getting WORSE! The front desk person can't even explained the logic what's my car problem. Just trying out luck to see if it's get better after service by their technical ppl. Do they realized the hassle of time spent to travel all way for a non-productive of service given? Not even to mention the $$ they charge. How should I go about this? I've get advised for 3rd party workshop however they advise me to get Honda to check as it equiped with the machine for checking this problem. Well, then what's the technical ppl doing in Honda? Are they well trained or experienced? It's a very BIG QUESTION MARKS!!

                                      How nice if the TECHNICAL ppl - those who sits at the counter show more EYE CONTACT so that we, won't feel like we are talking to a machine! ! Best of all, why not go the extra mile to make our (customer) day brighter - WITH A SMILE !! As a customer, I liked to be greeted/served with POSITIVE ATTITUDE . Whatever's your customer facial expression - YOU NEED TO SMILE MORE - DO YOU KNOW that your smile actually HELP us the customer AND YOU FEEL BETTER ?? It is the FACE-TO-FACE ENCOUNTER THAT MATTERS MOST . As the "host" (service/technical dept) you, (HONDA) really FALL SHORT in this category even though you sound nice on the phone!! So remember, smile .smile, sMile, SMile AND SMILE !! YOU CAN NEVER SMILE ENOUGH - thereschin

                                      I have the same issue as above Chelmen's complaint. My Honda City always gave noise like bird chirping and they claimed that the sound was came from belting, however, i just changed them last 3 months ago at Honda. Until today, 3 times of service, they still can't resolve it. 2nd issue, my car was encountered underpower during cornering, the acceleration was not smooth and the car return to lower gear was delayed, which I believed had caused this problem. Until today, their technician still can't get solution.

                                      Personally i have experience the similar problem where i had multiple visit to Honda Service Center with the same complaint. that was last year and it was resolved after a complaint to E-Tribunal. They actually heard my complaint helped me to be calm that someone is hearing my complaint. But complaint to HONDA Malaysia guess in vein got myself embarrassed by the staffs attitude and raised my pressure only, they don't bother if they deliver low quality car by one of their representative. The moral of the story is if u have any problem just write a letter to HONDA MALAYSIA and also the Consumer Department. Consumer Department will surely answer your call but don't expect Honda Malaysia to do so, they will only contact you and advice you that they will look into your problem personally and give you a direct number to call. What they are doing is shutting you up. Be alert.

                                      Hi, This is Sam. As usual I sent my car for service at a service centre in Klang Valley. My car is still under 3 years warranty. It was a last minutes decision that I wanted to change the gear oil and stuff and wash my car as well. It was before chinese new year on 20th Jan 2012. After that we went back home town for CNY celebration. Also took a chance to go everywhere during this holiday. I came back to KL and washed my car on 29th Jan 2012. Huh... Something very interesting happened.

                                      We found out that the gear oil cover never closed and the dip stick was not in place. Lead to oil squirting out from transmission casing as per photos attached. I can tolerate on slow service and long waiting. But I really cannot tolerate on this kind of mistake. It can lead to a very dangerous and serious situation such as car break down in the middle of the night during the massive jam festival season. I strongly disagree with the compensation that they have given to me. I thought such an International brand name, QUALITY CHECK is very important. Now I don't think so...

                                      Hello, I faced same bad experienced service my Honda accord in Kah Honda motor in Puchong. I decided to change my 2 front tyres due to bald, because the other 2 rear tyres still can see the tread though I was told by Honda Service help desk to change them as well. After I changed these 2 front tyres while driving I feels the tyres were not balance especially when I speed up to 100km/h, and can hear noise coming from the tyres. While servicing my car I brought this issue to Kah Honda service centre. They told me to trim the front discs brake surface and I agree to do so. But when I drive back home I feel same problem occur to my car. Then again I back to Kah Honda motor in Puchong bring up this same issue again and the feedback I got they can’t solve and they don’t encounter what exactly the problem is; they just tell me to change with new tyres without any reason. During Hari Raya, I decided to change rest of the 2 tyres for balik kampong. After changed these 2 tyres they told 2 big scratches at side of one of the tyre and can be clearly seen by naked eyes.
                                      The comments are accordingly:
                                      1) How and when the scratches happen? I don’t think the 2 big scratches at side of tyre because the tar road condition in Puchong. I can feel the unbalance tyre after I change the 2 new tyres in Kah Honda motor. Suspect must be the people who change the tyres.
                                      2) 2 times I report to Kah Honda Services to check regarding this matter but they said they don’t know what the actual problem is or they purposely don’t want to tell me keep this matter in secret because the scratches done by them?? They are not sincere tell us and cheat customers.
                                      3) Advise me to trim the disc brake which not related at all. How experts of Kah Honda Puchong people in question? Just want to suck customer money.
                                      Please be extra aware with Kah Honda Puchong. The service charge was not value for money at all and cheat people of doing business.
