Two years ago we signed up with Home Depot and their 3 year credit for window and siding installation.in May someone came out (a day late and at 9 PM, there until 10:30), and it went downhill from there. A month later we got a call that they might be able to come out and install windows. I asked they call back when they had dates so I could take time off work. No return calls. Same thing happened in July, August, and Sept. No return calls. My wife contacted Home Depot approx. 20 times, and got the run around. We came to find out there were contractor issues (quitting due to better opportunities elsewhere, and Home Depot quit doing siding (which they did not bother telling us). We had to cancel painter because of this mess.
We tried again in spring of this year to get the windows installed and worked with Andy (very nice and was frustrated as well). He arranged to have the finance company to apply our original deposit of $5000 to a new finance agreement to get windows done. After waiting for an hour for approval we were told application was denied. No explanation given. We later received a letter from finance company saying we were denied due to "duplicate application" whatever that means. Andy said there was nothing further Home Depot could do and we would forfit the $5000 deposit.
This is not acceptable as this was not our fault. Home Depot did not live up to the contract as there were no reliable people to do the install. We would either like our deposit back, or for Home Depot to complete project. A lot of the problem is now with the finance company HD uses, and complaint department itself. We have 3 pages of phone attempts to get this resolved. My phone # is [protected], and name is James Niles. Home address is; 1445 Mt. Baker Hwy. Bellingham, Wa. 98226. We will go to an attorney next if this is not resolved.
