Hertz car rental

Paid in advance (via debit card), received confirmation email stating full payment had been made. When arrived (at stated time), car was not ready, was then charged apparently mandatory debit card €25/day insurance fee which more than doubled the quoted (and previously confirmed total) price of the booking. At no time prior to arrival (despite having paid with debit card) was this mentioned. When I flagged this they were entirely rude and unhelpful. Avoid at all costs.

Hertz hyundai i20

Hello I had booked car Hyundai I20 on 11th November, 2019 from Zurich and return it safely at airport as per agreement.And the guy given me noc every thing was ok as per they checked.And I got my security back after and weeks time.But today 10th December, 2019 again hertz has debited CHF 49+49 = 98 CHF from my credit card. I want to know why have be this amount had been debited from my account when all the payments had been settled.

Hertz car rental in estero fl at corporate office

On November 7th I rented a car in Estero, FL and drove approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to Miami International Airport where I returned the car. I am a Gold member [protected]. When I received my bill about 1 hour later via email it was not what I expected. I was charged for a full tank of gas and a service charge after driving the small KIA for two hours.

Let me explain the problem. When I made the reservation in Estero about a week before I picked up the car, I told the gentleman taking the reservation information that I would pre pay for gas. He was busy with a personal conversation with a friend/relative and not paying enough attention to me. As a matter of fact, he could not give me a printed confirmation and wrote the info on a card. I said ok and left.

I also told the gentleman that I wanted a NAV system which I did not get. When I picked up the car, another representative said my car did not have a NAV system and they did not have another car with one. He was in a hurry to get back to his I phone.

Hertz pre-paid car rental cancelled by Hertz 25 mins before pickup!

I tried 3 times to submit this complaint on the Hertz website and tried three times and keep receiving a message that the request is not valid so I am forced to bring it up in other formats. Below is my situation for My Hertz Reservation:

I reserved and pre-paid for a car with Hertz location 2940 Northwest 36th Street, Miami Central Miami, FL US 33142 two weeks in advance for a four day rental. 25 minutes before I am supposed to pick up my car, a person from the location called me from 305-638-5252 telling me he was very sorry but there is no car available for me and that it's been like that for the last few weeks and this is a common occurrence. I said that's odd, I didn't get any email from Hertz about this and they did not book me another car or another location. Also telling me 25 minutes before I was to pick up the car is also strange. I was ok as long as he booked me at another location at the same prepaid rate.

He said he could not do that and I needed to cancel my reservation then rebook but don't worry, the airport location or any other will just rebook me at the same rate. I called Hertz support and they said I could not get the same rate but I would also need to cancel before booking. I said I should not pay more because the prepaid Hertz location was the one trying to tell me they cancelled my reservation. The airport would have charged me an extra 150 or so for the same booking and I felt it was not my fault. I agreed to a set rate two weeks in advance and they charged my card already. I ended up calling the original location again and said he gave me wrong info and I could not get the same rate. He said that was not what he has seen happen in the past but could not help me because he only had one car and that person was on the way to pick it up. I'm sorry, I booked in advance, prepaid and they cancelled me?

I was furious. As a President's Circle member who just booked rentals in Dallas, Scottsdale, LA and Toronto all on Hertz within the last 6 weeks, I was shocked that they would leave a "valued" business traveler stranded like this and not try to help. I ended up booking on Enterprise. Still came out of pocket around $120 more than my original booking as well which I wonder how to recover. The second phone rep I spoke to told me they would cancel my reservation and refund me right away. This as never done either! I wasted hours trying to rebook my car rental, calling my credit card company to dispute the charge and writing this review so others are aware what can happen to them, and would never trust Hertz due to this horrible situation where they just left me stranded with no help.

Why did this happen? I can only think that they were able to book others at higher rates so thought it was ok to cancel my booking last minute. Horrible and unethical behavior with no care that this affected my appointments and meetings set up for the day. No manager cared to apologize or do anything. Too bad they lost not only my business but that of my employees and friends. Sorry you didn't know or care that I decide which car rental my employees use. Pathetic but won't fool me again. Will spend a bit more time posting on many review sites because I am sure this is wide spread fraud by Hertz locations.

They should have offered SOMETHING such as free up another class of car, book me at another location at the same rate, book my on a competitor rental instead of leaving me stranded.

I experienced the exact same thing with Hertz one week ago. I have tried contacting an area manager, district manager, etc. and NO ONE will call me back. I cannot express how much this company sucks. I am going to shout it to the roof tops and post and report and report and ask all my friends to share my experience on every social media platform here is. Hertz may not want to hear from me but a LOAD of other people surely will. Yelp, trip advisor, the Better Business Bureau, Expedia, etc. Anyone who takes a moment to read a review will find mine!

Hertz overcharged and "tricked"

I had pre-booked and pre-paid GBP 369.- + 76.- VAT, for a 8 seater Mercedes van. At the Hertz desk (in the evening of 6th October) I was talking to one of your employees behind the desk, and was told that I should rather take a 9 seater VW transporter. I had the impression that this was going "down" in class (from a Mercedes to a VW), and did not understand what I was presented by the guy behind the counter. Yes it was one more seat, but we were only 6 people. However he gave me the impression that I needed it for the luggage.

Later I saw that what I had signed on and later charged is an additional GBP280.- + 56 GBP VAT (!) for this car. That's an additional 75% on my original booking! I find that not acceptable at all!

The information of this additional cost should have been made much clearer to me when the "offer to help me" was given at the desk. If I had known this in advance, I would certainly first have asked to try the Mercedes (which probably is a much more pleasant car than the transporter to drive around in).

I really expect the additional amount of GBP336.- to be refunded to my account as soon as possible.

In addition to this, I have now (20th October) been charged an additional GBP82, - without any explanation. I have requested my creditcard company to withhold this latest charge.

Hertz fraudulent business

Shame I had to give one star just to comment; I would not have given any.
Recently hired a car for a funeral and on my return was informed that the passenger Tyre had damage. Hertz were good enough to send me photos, which clearly show all around damage to their cheap alloy wheels. So when I dispute the Hertz claim they Bill my card anyway; try and reply to the email-its a No Reply.
Such a scam; do not use this company.
PS; Hertz, can I have the old Tyre, as I did pay for it!

Hertz unauthorised charges or claims - overbilling with unethical intent?

I took out and paid for glass/window and tyre insurance with the rental of a vehicle. The purpose is for stones and chips to window, for which I should have no liability.
As luck might have it, I picked up a stone on the freeway to the front window. Disclosed this and complete form on return as instructed.

Hertz charged me the accident (FAP) liability of R13, 000 ! Also, are not reflecting the correct deposits deducted on the invoice, whihc leads to an additional overcharge.

For reference purposes: TAX INVOICE [protected]−1

I contacted Customer Relations with no prevail. The 021 line number is never answered and they do not respond to the email.

Who and when will this be corrected? Or is this one of those cases that one have to battle pubicly?

Hertz Horrible Customer Service

My experience today regarding Communication with a young lady name "JELISA TRULY" was the worst I've ever experience in my life. Very unprofessional from our first line of communication until our last call. I was even asked to give my social security number over the phone by this young lady. Which is something I've never heard of when dealing with a car dealership. That was my first bad Experience. A couple of hours after I received a call from a gentleman representing hertz regarding my interest rate "financing" after disagreeing with him and informing him that I would not be moving forward with my application... I was told by the gentleman "Thank you for wasting my time"

Hertz car rental

Hertz Loyalty Customer Service,

As a President's Circle member (ID [protected]), I have expressed my loyalty to Hertz by completing 42 rentals in 2019. Considering that we are in week 42, that means that I have completed, on average, a rental every single week in this calendar year alone. I clearly travel frequently and have my choice of companies from which to acquire a rental car. I have remained loyal to Hertz because the transactions are typically easy, quick and I can get the car that I prefer with little to no drama.

Imagine my dismay when I realized at the last minute that I missed booking a car for pickup today (October 16, 2019) at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, CA. While I am not one to seek special treatment, I quickly dismissed any anxiety because I knew that Hertz would provide excellent customer service, especially to such a loyal customer.

The bottom line is that I was sorely disappointed when the service representative explained that he could not help me in person and that I must book a car through the app. I complied, only to discover that a car for less than 48 hours would cost more than $330 because at 6:30 p.m., there "were no cars available". Yes, I am traveling for business and yes, this would be a business expense, but I am in the business of saving my company money and I was not about to be exploited simply because I had not reserved a car ahead of time. The rep then told me that if this car and cost were not satisfactory, I should try Avis instead.

Uber won my business today.

I now have to consider why I remain loyal to a company that doesn't have my back when I give them my business every. single. week.

Hertz overcharged for gas

This is the third time I am writing a complaint without hearing back from the customer service dept. When I returned my car at Sky Harbor Airport in Phx 8/27 I had a full tank of gas. I filled the car up the night before & drove immediately the next morning to the airport. Of concern is the fact that my sisiter and her family had the exact same car which we both filled up at the same station the night before (same type of car as well) Rav4. I have done this countless times before since I had a house in the area for years. I usually use a different rental co. but chose Hertz this time for some reason. I was charged $26.31 for gas on a car that the gauge registered full when I dropped it off. When I called the next day the customer service rep asked for my gas receipt. I took pictures of the entire exterior of the car but never thought to take a picture of the gas gauge. Who would think they would have to prove they filled the car up & get a receipt. Outrageous! Is this the newest scam out there now?
I would appreciate a response!

Hertz car hire

I booked my car hire for the UK through the teachers union in Western Australia (SSTUWA) who list Hertz as a corporate partner with favourable rates for members of the teachers union. The size, cost and inclusion of satnav were emailed to me by the union. On arrival at the Hertz desk after a long haul flight I provided the customer service person with the pre- booked booking reference, fully expecting to just sign the forms, pick up the key and get on my way. This didn't happen. Despite the fact I was travelling alone, I was given a variety of reasons as to why I would need a bigger car, and was also told I would have to pay more than was stated in the original booking for the satnav. I suggested to the agent that I'd just use Google maps on my phone, but was told that given where I was travelling to that wouldn't be a good idea( neither was a big car!) I also clearly stated to the agent I wanted a car that would fit into a parking bay, and was assured it would. It's a fairly long & tricky trek to the car park where the hire cars are kept, especially when pushing a laden luggage trolley. I was unimpressed to discover that the car I had now hired did exceed the length of the parking bay and was much bigger than 1 person weighing 58kgs needed! I was then faced with the prospect of pushing my luggage all the way back to terminal to start the whole process again . Given that I'd already been travelling for 24hrs, and it was late in the afternoon I had no option but to accept the situation and get on my way, as I didn't want to find myself negotiating my way out of Edinburgh in the dark. Despite what the agent said the satnav proved to be unreliable, and on 1 occasion switched into french. I ended up using the data on my PAYG phone to keep Google maps on to ensure that I wa being given the correct directions. I'm now faced with a rental cost which is 50% higher than the original agreement & the stress of driving a large car around single lane country roads. I have emailed and ring Hertz but still haven't received a response.

Hertz vehicle

Hi. Someone hit my car at the end of August. I was contacted by their insurance company saying the reservation had been made. Once I contacted Hertz in Memphis I never could get anyone to answer the phone. I live across the bridge in Arkansas and figured since the accident wasn't my fault...I wasn't spending my gas money to cross the bridge and have to find someone to take me. Regardless it took 3 weeks for someone to finally get back to me. Supposedely the regional manager of the Memphis area. Since September 19th I have been calling Hertz trying to get them to come get the vehicle. The vehicle was dropped off at my house with no signed contract. Actually I wasn't even home, my husband was. I have spoke with about 20 people from the 1800 numbers and none of them no anything or can help. The last guys name I spoke to was Terrance. He assured me last Thursday the car would be picked up and I would be getting a call. Here it is Monday the 30th and I still have their car and it seems like it is of no concern to them. Shame on insurance companies using people like this to do business with.

Hertz car rental insurance

I reserved a car at the Hertz/Thrifty office at Ramstein AFB in Germany. I did this through Expedia, from which I purchased an insurance policy. When I went in to pick up my car I was told that the insurance I purchased (TravelGard/AIG) was not accepted. When I offered my credit card I was told I needed a physical copy of the policy with my name and credit card number on it. This is ridiculous. I've rented cars before in Europe and never needed anything more than the credit card insurance. I was forced to purchase insurance for 23Euro/day plus VAT. It cost more for the insurance than the car rental. When it came time to pay, I used the VISA card the agent wouldn't accept earlier for insurance.

Hertz erroneous charges for a dept of defense government civilian

I booked a rental car through Hertz by CI Azumano (DoD Contract Travel Agent) on Aug 20th for pickup on Aug 25th and return on Aug 27th. The estimated cost (provided by CI Azumano) for a Compact 2/4Dr car was $25.00 per day with an estimated total of $125.46 (including taxes and other charges). When I picked on the car on Aug 25th, I did not look at the charges. I inspected the car and drove to my destination. I returned the vehicle full of gas on Aug 27th, signed the receipt (did not pay attention to the charges at that time either), then departed. On Aug 28th, I looked at the rental receipt then realized the charges were higher than my estimate from CI Azumano ($90.00 per day vice $25.00 per day). I immediately called Hertz rep and inquired about the difference in charges. The Hertz rep told me the charges were legitimate however, I can contact her manager in two days (manager was off the next day). I called back in two days to talk to the Hertz manager but the manager was not available. I was referred to the Hertz Customer Service number for billing issues. I called customer service (was on hold for 15 min), explained my issue and was told the charges were legitimate. I called the next day thinking it was possible I would talk to someone with a better understanding of the issue and was told the same. However this agent did offer to deduct $100 off my bill. My last recourse was to contact the CI Azumano rep about the issue. The rep could not understand Hertz's unwillingness to honor the CI Azumano estimate. The rep will elevate this issue to her supervisor to be looked into from a higher level. My CI Azumano original estimate is attached. My Hertz receipt RR [protected]; RES J12930168D6. Hertz car rental

Hi,
Normally I rent a car another company. But they don't give my car.
I went https://www.hertz.com agency in the Paris Orly airport.

He is very kindly and he help me?
I rent a car. No problem.

But after...

I came Belgium from France. and I was very sick. I went hospital.
I stayed 10 ten days in hospital.

And also I have give back car to hertz. But I stay in the hospital. I am very sick.
I request my friend, I explained situtation.

He take car and go hertz agency. There was two problem.
We can not put same agency and it put another person the car.

My friend explained situtation. He showed my report.

But they didint listen. Rule is rule.
The car put onether person and different agency.

They cut very much money extra.

If I was died, what they do, I dont know.

Hertz charged for insurance I said I didn't want

Prepaid rental at Seatac airport. Very clearly said I didn't want insurance nor prepaid fuel. When agent said sign here, I questioned the charges. He said that was the deposit and fuel charge if I didn't return the car full of gas. I signed the contract. When I returned the car I was charged $293 for insurance. I talked to the manager at the rental counter who couldn't understand why I was upset.
After all I signed the contract. He would review the videotape, but wouldn't let me see it. Just got off the phone with Hertz customer service. They offered to refund 50% of the insurance charge. I told them not good enough.

Hertz car rental

Book a rental at hertz weeks before my daughters wedding for a premium large suv. The website said I would get a yukon or "similar" we'll after waiting 1 hour in waiting room they offered me a non-premium suv that smelled like weed and had bad wear & tear to it. I asked if they had something else, this is for a wedding, the sales person pretended to call someone then said no this is all we have. Then he quickly tried to process the transaction and he also increased the charge by adding "ldw" a special insurance they have for their cars w/out even asking me. I asked why the price doubled he said everyone gets this insurance and I would feel safer with it. I should of paid attention to the reviews... This particular location sucks! Hertz almost ruined my daughters wedding luckily, avis car rental at the moreno valley mall saved the day! Gave me a brand new suv, premium with all sorts of discounts... Thanks andy! Its crazy because I rented a jaguar at the riverside, ca location with outstanding customer service. But dealing w/ the moreno valley branch has made me change to a different rental company for now on.

Hertz car hire

Hello,
I was booking a car via Car Trawler a car in Riga/ Lettonie the 26/08/19
They wrote to retire the car at 10 o clock at the railway station - I was un hour late because I had unfortunately un obstacle. I did not worry to much because I thought that the (paid) car is rented and they have their agency on the railway station. So I thought the car is booked from 10 a.m.
I phoned them as soon as possible and the answer was that I can rent a new car by paying again (and to come to the agency at the airport)
It made me all the more marked as I booked (naturally) the next day with an other (by paying again) and they were two hours late to deliver the car (saying that is normal in Riga...) and I did not say anything.
Thank you for taking all this into consideration.

Hertz hertz / hotwire

I reserved and prepaid for a Hertz large car through Hotwire; called the Fall River location the morning of my reservation and was told all was good; later that day I went to pick up the car; didn't have the large car but put me in a smaller Nisson. Said I could get a rebate from Hertz. I called Hotwire and they said that Hertz owed me $107. I have called Hertz 3 times and told I would get the difference refund between the large car (didn't get) and the smaller car. 3 months later ... Still nothing.
