However, when I tried to log in the next day, my ID and password didn't work. I tried multiple times, but to no avail.

I was frustrated and couldn't find a way to contact Startmail for help. I searched their website and social media pages, but couldn't find any contact information. This was not my error, as I had saved my login information correctly.

Despite this initial setback, I decided to give Startmail another chance. I created a new account and this time, my login information worked perfectly. I was relieved and impressed with the level of security that Startmail provides.

I started using StartMail as a Business customer back in September 2019. However, in March 2022, I had to switch to other providers like Mailbox and ProtonMail as StartMail stopped supporting custom domain aliases for Business Accounts. This feature became temporarily unavailable during the transition of their Business Account model. But they did state in their email they would support it again sometime in the future. So, I kept checking the StartMail web site every now and then to see if the feature was revived. As soon as I found it was, I switched back from ProtonMail to StartMail in January 2023.

I must say that StartMail is the best secure email provider in the entire world! There are several reasons why I think so. Firstly, it has the most informative documentation among all providers. I have never submitted a ticket to ask how to do anything. Everything is so clearly explained and there's not a single typo or grammatical error in the content. This is a huge plus point for me as I don't have to waste time figuring out how to use the service.

Secondly, StartMail supports unlimited unique aliases for a custom domain. Aliases help to efficiently save business emails by mapping aliases to folders. They also help to better protect one's online identity from cyber criminals. This is a great feature as it allows me to keep my business emails organized and secure.

Thirdly, the regular price is reasonable for a Business account. And it's worth it given the value one gets in exchange. It's the priceless value of timely and secure business email. I don't mind paying a little extra for a service that provides me with peace of mind.

Fourthly, the whole setup process takes less than 5 minutes. Even in 2019, when I did it for the first time, it was not difficult to do. All one has to do is create TXT, SPF & MX records for one's domain. This is a huge relief as I don't have to spend hours trying to figure out how to set up the service.

Lastly, I have never faced any delay with email delivery except once. But even that one was due to a Denial-of-Service attack on the domain registrar's servers. It was not caused by any issue with the secure mail servers at StartMail. This is a great feature as I don't have to worry about my emails getting delayed or lost.

Before I discovered StartMail, I used to buy a web hosting plan which also offers email hosting. But I used to always face delays with mail delivery whenever there was server downtime. It was when I realized I should not opt for web hosting and email hosting in the same plan. That it's better to sign up with a dedicated provider who supports secure email. And so far, after 4 years, I still find StartMail to be the most secure email provider out there.
