Goodwill Industries Senior and veteran discounts taken away

Senior and veteran discounts taken away.

So I was advised at Pike Plaza Goodwill yesterday that they no longer give any types of discounts to their customers. I called today and filed a complaint and was informed that Goodwill only gives a discount based on how much you spend. They don’t care about seniors, they certainly don’t care about disabled veterans, it appears they only care about the dollar just like every other retailer in America. I want to know why?

Desired outcome: , it appears they only care about the dollar just like every other retailer in America. I want to know why? I want the senior and veteran discount to continue as it always has!

Goodwill Industries Customer service

My husband went to the goodwill on power road and mesa az. My husband bought Jimmie Johnson shirt, jeff Burton cup, and some shirts and shorts and my husband had a backpack but he doesn't know if they took it off and he a 25% and it was all over the store to celebrate national thrift store day. He went to the register two and he gave them his coupon on his phone and the worker said you can use it for the customer that wasn't even his wife. Im his wife. And ,the cashier said you can use it on yourself all day. My husband come home and told me too contact them and i talked to Miguel and he didn't even know who the worker was because the worker was at lunch. Then he told me too call back in 30 minutes because they needed to watch the video and ask her what happened. The other manager said the cashier doesn't do that and i think she got my husband's information because he was hacked from somewhere when they should watch thete worker's and customers more. It is ridiculous that they don't give the money back. I think they should give my husband his money back because we are on social security disability. They are taking advantage of disabled people. We want a settlement of $400.00 dollars because we were going in there all a time. And the customer was a Spanish lady and cashier was an older lady that was skinny with gray hair. Thank you.

Desired outcome: We want money back of $400.00 dollars for all the heartache because we have health problems. And , we are on oxygen and im in a wheelchair. Thank you.

I completely agree. I went to an Outlet here in Indianapolis and the cashier felt she could just add a donation amount to my total price with out asking or anything super furious. I took my things back and told them I wanted my money refunded. She did so although I have not seen it reflected in my account as well as the refund did not include the donation amount.

Goodwill Industries Retrieve missing clothes

To whom may concern my name Valencia Lindsay not sure some of my clothes was donated by accident trying see if way retrieve clothes. If you can let me know had some clothes value to me aqua marine tye dye capri pants, black pull over hoodie,leggings,pink tank top, Burgundy sweatshirt. I been calling in since end June 23 first week July. Goodwill located Peoria Pioneer Road.

Desired outcome: Retrieve clothes accidentally given away.

Goodwill Industries Check out

I was shopping in the Rockingham NC store on 8/15/2022 when I went to check out there was a customer in front of me that was checking out and she got ready to pay for her stuff and the cashier was out of ones. The cashier calls for ones and we have to wait for her to get change. #1 Why would you run that low on change and #2. I was paying with debit card but she could not ring up my stuff while she was waiting on someone to bring here change. I just walked out and save my $20.00 for somewhere else.

Goodwill Industries Previous employee

I started working for Goodwill in June doing lawn care & a incident happen (I got jumped by a couple of guys) while I was working.

So Goodwill told me to take a couple days off to get myself together and they was going to find me a different position.

It has been 2 months now & I haven't received any notice of a replacement or if I was even fired or laid off.

I go into the Goodwill again and apply for a different position & 1. They give me the run around & 2. I was talking to one of the staff member in HR & he told me that my brother (Lloyd Thomas) had came in here & used my identity to apply for a job.

So I went back into the office today (8/15/2022) to check up on the situation & they told me " that I (Lohmed Thomas) could never work for Goodwill again.

So could you please find out what's going on with this situation and call me back. My number is [protected]

Goodwill Industries Cashier by the name of Koni-Hamilton Plaza New Jersey

I walked into the store and saw a woman with a Goodwill jacket or shirt on and assumed that she worked there. I wanted to see something in the showcase. I asked her and she just looked at me and kind of gave me a look with her eyes and ignored me. I asked another employee and she was quick to help and was very friendly. I went to the back of the store with my daughter to shop. My daughter had gotten alot of glass, so we had 2 carts. When I saw that my daughter was at the register already, I proceeded to go to the front and there were 2 people in line after my daughter. Since I had 2 of her things in my cart, I handed them to her, since they were hers. As soon as I handed them to her, the cashier-named Koni yelled at me and said Oh no, you can't do that, you need to go to the back of the line. I explained that they were my daughters and she yelled again. No, that is not fair, you need to go to the back of the line. My daughter had not completed the transaction yet. The cashier was still ringing up her purchases. I believe that the whole store heard this cashier yelling. I was appalled to say the least. She said, do you want to speak to a manager? I said yes. A gentleman by the name of Kevin came to the register. I explained it to him. He told the cashier Koni to ring up my purchase after she had funished with her current customer. which was the customer after my daughter. Koni looked at him like she wanted to kill him! So she wrung up my daughters additional 2 items. I handed her the money and she dropped the change into my hand. and threw the money and receipt on the counter. I was so embarrased by this cashier's demeanor, especially since she was in the wrong. I was just handing my daughter her 2 additional items. not trying to butt in the line. Her actions should be addressed. since she is not very customer friendly. This cashier-Koni was the same employee that I had asked to see something in the showcase when I arrived and she just gave me a look and then ignored me. I really enjoy shopping at this store and feel like I do not want to go back because of this cashier. I am sure that I am not the only customer that has had to deal with her anger. This is probably the very first time that I have complained about anybody. but I felt that it was necessary.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response! The manager Kevin made the appropriate decision in this case and should be commended.

Goodwill Industries Job applicant

I was applying for a job at the goodwill, in the advertisement they mentioned a specific industry then stated that this position will help in placing people after training for jobs. These two position mentioned have nothing to do with each other and require two different skill sets and experience. I just happen to have some experience in the other part, which was job placement.

During the interview it was mentioned that a 3rd industry was part of this position that had nothing to do with the other two industries. Again it was in job placement for this other industry. So if a person is applying to be a "job finder", human resources / job placement that is one industry and that one job can place people. But then they wanted this one person to be experienced in two other industries that have nothing to do with each other.

I left a message to 3 different people to get a status of the application, it is somewhat difficult to get ahold of anyone and for some reason have some 3rd party messaging system. When I finally did get ahold of what I believe is the main human resource person was very rude and unprofessional, not to mention the other two never responded back that I was told to contact if I couldnt reach any of the others.

Desired outcome: i guess nothing can be really done, its like a who cares type of thing or nothing will happen to these people and nothing will be done by and to the organization that does a LOT of questionable things and bad practices.

Goodwill Industries Your New Sticker System Sucks...!!!!

I went to 2 Goodwills in the Pittsburgh Area today. Monday, August 1st, 2022. Quit putting your new stickers on Vinyl Records, paintings and statues or anything with a paper or painted background. You can put them on Glass, hard plastic or the clear cellophane wrappers on boxes. You are ruining the artwork, on the covers, on vinyl records and paintings,

Desired outcome: No more Stickers on vinyl Records. All vinyl records are $0.79 cents each. All the cashiers know this. "KISS"...Keep It Simple Stupid. Save on USELESS...labor time, stickers and printing costs.

Goodwill Industries Manager at the Holcomb Bridge store in Norcross Georgia

Dear Sir or Madam, I am a dealer, and I buy everyday at many of your stores. I wanted to let you know that the manager of your Holcomb Bridge store in Norcross Georgia is killing their business. First, he or she keeps the air conditioning up so high that you sweat walking around the store. This has gone on for many weeks. In addition, the shelves of goods have been baron for weeks. In accordance, I have never seen this manager in the store. In closing, when you walk into the Holcomb Bridge store it looks like they are going out of business. By the way, the furniture section, which has been empty for weeks just had stuff added and thrown all over the place. I enclosed a pic.

I wanted to know if the light came on. Not answered. Vague response that parroted listing info. It's not a hard question to answer. Powers on could mean just an exhaust fan comes on or a little green light for all I know. Since no photos show the screens lit with a back light, which is required to view a slide, it's an important piece of info.

I've decided to just move on since I can't get a constructive answer. I have a lightbox and huge magnifying glass here at home. I've been burned a few times before buying Goodwill electronics online that don't work. The trust just isn't there anymore. Not going to bid anymore on these since I can't get an answer to a very basic simple question.

Desired outcome: The outcome - you lost a bidder and I've told you why. Use it as a training tool.

Goodwill Industries Online auction

Can you explain to me how I didn't make the winning bid for this clock? I placed a bid at 05:55;53 of $45.00. The posting indicates the next bid thereafter has to be $47.00 with the auction ended. The site doesn't let you place a bid lower than the highest bid as I'm sure you know. Another bidder at 05:55:28, 27 seconds before me is indicated placing a bid of $47.00? The auction site shouldn't have allowed me to bid $45.00, a lesser amount, after the $47.00 bid took place if it in fact did? If it did the site should indicate the next bid should be at least $49.00, not $47.00. The posting with the auction ended reads the next bid must be $47.00 which is the next allowable bid after my high bid of $45.00 which would indicate the $47.00 bid didn't occur or was somehow changed to a high amount subsequent to the auction ending?

Goodwill Industries Employees not treated right by dayshift manager

The dayshift manager in greensburg, Indiana. I believe his name is Seth. Has been treating his employees like garbage and doesn't seem to do his job. He is really rude towards his employees and has no respect for them. This has been happening for the past couple of months and his attitude hasn't changed at all and only seems to be getting worse. This can't be happening forever

Goodwill Industries returns

I have 3 or 4 returns now that are older than 2 days cause I have sent over 3 emails with no response. I ran out of the house in a hurry and forgot my return 1 day, 1 return was due on weekend and I did not work (good will is near my work), another time, I simply forgot. I need the ok from corp to return a late return to the store. CAN SOMEBODY FRIGGING HELP ME? Ive been asking for almost a month here.

Why dont you just open up the fitting rooms wuth a USE AT YOUR OWN RISK sign on the door. It would make life so much simpler for us patrons

Goodwill Industries Hot Store Nasty Employees

I am a weekly high dollar shopper at you Goodwill Boutique in Keller TX. I attempted to shop there today. The store is kept too hot. This is TX and it is 100 plus degrees outside and not much better in this store. They have one lousy fan blowing in it. I turned the fan on myself for a few minutes. The cashier became angry, got the manager who flew out from the recesses of the store and took the fan off me saying “ the fan is for employees in the back” only. The fan was out in the store, not in the back wherever that is. Unbelievably RUDE employees you have working there. Will not shop there again. I have shared my experience on every Social Media platform I have access to…

Goodwill Industries Donations were added to receipts after every purchase at Outlet on Franklin.

Tues/June 28, 2022. 9:00am-1:00pm.

I took my daughter to the outlet on Franklin in Indianapolis today so she could find some items for college. We cashed out after each round of them bring the bins out, unloaded in our car and back in. We did this 4 times. I noticed on our receipts that we were charged/rounded up for "donations". Previous visits the workers would ask me if I wanted to donate. I don't mind donating but I expect to be asked. Our 1st check out was with a young man and he did it. We then tried the young lady and she did it too. This should not be allowed.

I am a loyal customer of the goodwill for years. I went into the arden hills goodwill today and I have never been so disgusted in the way the manager spoke to a young emlpoyee out on the floor. Her attitude and tone was so horrible. You can tell this woman has no leader skills and bullies her employees. I thought that the goodwill was suppose to help reform the workers. Not break there spirit. How can you employ someone like this to be in charge and train other individuals. I felt so sorry for the employee. This manager walked around the store just angry. The energy in the store is off and the employees seem unhappy because of her. Its so sad to see. You need to have a talk with her and the employees and see whats going on with her as a manager. Its not ok to see.

Goodwill Industries The employees at the Goodwill building in Laconia, New Hampshire

Myself and my sister had the unpleasant task of cleaning out the storage locker of my father and my brother who passed away 12/21/21. On May 23,2022 we began to clean out the locker located in Plymouth, New Hampshire. At the end of the day we drove down to the Laconia, NH Goodwill building. We were there at about 5:25 pm. There was an employee that came out with a cart, he stood there and did nothing to help unload the U-haul van we had rented. He began complaining that we should have made an appointment if we were bring so much stuff. My sister tried to explain our situation but the two employees continued to complain. My sister was very up set and told them that they were on notice that we will be bringing loads down everyday for the rest of the week.

The following day, May, 24th my sister and a friend who had been helping us went down to Goodwill. They waited and waited and watched the two men talking to an other man. Finally the other man came out and demanded to know what was in the boxes. My sister explained to him that it was clothes, houseware items and many other, like books, puzzles etc. My sister's friend told him if they didn't want the items that we would just take it all to the dump. He then replied no, no, and he would get the guys to bring out carts. Again the men made no effort to help. One complained that they had to stay to 7:00pm to go through all the stuff we had dropped off the day before. At that point my sister made up her mind that we would not bring anymore items. to Goodwill! Instead the following day we call the Salvation Army in Laconia and they told us they would happily take everything we wanted to give them. So, we loaded up the U-haul van again with clothes, household items, books, puzzles and sooo much more. When my sister arrived at the Salvation Army there was a team of 5 employees there ready to help unload. They thanked her many times for all the items. We then made arrangement for the Salvation Army to come pick up the furniture that was in the locker. My point in telling you about our experience with the Salvation Army is for you to see the huge difference in the treatment we received at Goodwill and by the employee's actions Goodwill missed out on many really great items and furniture. I was also told that I could download the receipt because they did not have any donation receipts there. I tried and tried to download the receipts but could not. Salvation Army sent a thank you letter to me and included a donation receipt.

Desired outcome: We would like an apology and I would like to see your employee receive some training on customer service,
