Goodwill Industries Fake gold purchased, advertised as real 14k

To whom it may concern-

I purchased 3 pieces of jewelry that was advertised as being 14k gold on the Shopgoodwill.com website. I took that "gold" to my jeweler last week to have a ring made and was told that it is costume jewelry and not real gold. I have contacted customer support who has given me the run around for 3 days before sending a message to one of the E-Commerce specialists. She told me that that I cannot return the merchandise since it has been over 14 days. She stated that I should have inspected the merchandise. I am not a Jewler, I trusted that what was advertised was correct. Since it is fake gold and was advertised as real 14K gold, I would like a refund. This is fraud-advertising a product that isn't what it was advertised as. Listed below are the details:

Order #[protected], Item #[protected], Date purchased: 2-1-22, Item advertised as "14K gold pendent-4.37g" Paid-$235.43 Goodwill of Southern/Western Colorado.

Order #[protected], item #[protected], Date purchased: 2-2-22 Item advertised as "14 K gold San Marcos style double curve earrings-6.1g" Paid $222.40 Goodwill Southern Arizona

Order #[protected] Item #[protected], Date purchased 2-3-22 Item advertised as "14K gold tri-color earrings-11.9g" Paid-$255.53 Goodwill of Western/Northern Connecticut.

Grand Total: $713.36. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Desired outcome: Credit back to my credit card on my ShopGoodwill.com account or a paper check.

I won an auction through the Goodwill for seven rings, and they were all supposed to be sterling silver 925 and undamaged, slight wear.

I spent just shy of 100 bucks on them when I got them two of them were not sterling silver at all and three of them were heavily damaged.

I've been trying for a month to get a refund or something from them. The only thing they offered me was three dollars back and they still haven't gotten back in touch with me since that offer.

Five of the seven rings, not being what they were said to be is just out and out dishonesty I would've never bought those rings Had I known what they were actually going to turn out to be.

The Goodwill is dishonest they are greedy, and they falsely advertise all the time.

I've bought jewelry through them two different times and each time I've been ripped off one of the pairs of earrings that I bought the first time we're not sterling silver at all either they were junk.

I have filed a complaint with the BBC against them.

They're getting away with being very fraudulent and somebody needs to make them start doing right by their customers.

Today I went to a goodwill location at SW 89th Street and Pennsylvania Ave. in OKC, ok. I had my elderly grandmother with me as well as my 1 year old child. There were 3 traditional dressing rooms and one handicapped dressing room. I went to the cashier, Treshieva, asked for her to let us in the handicap stall. The cashier, Treshevia, said no. She said...

Goodwill Industries Store manager

I was trying to make a donation to one of your stores in Fresno California. At Shaw and brawley on April 22rd 2023. I was there to make a donation and they only took a few items they said they were not going to accept any more donations from me. I had lots of clothes kids toys and I had scooters or younger kids but they did not accept that. They did not even give me a donation slip.

Goodwill Industries No bags for purchased merchandise

GoodwillStore.

ElizabethtownPa

Employee; Jase P

Date; 04/21/'23

Time ; 4:51:12 pm.

No bag offered after paying for merchandise. The checkout clerk made a flimsy excuse without volume and could not be understood. I then said' Oh...no bags huh '. I got a blank stare but no more reply. The other customers left with their purchases in bags. Why was I denied a bag for mine. 5 items total carried to car & placed on seat to avoid soiling if placed onto floor. What was the goon thinking.? This is the second such incident with a Goidwill employee saying bags were not available. The first incident was at Syore in Palmyra, PA from a young man with red hair who acted as he was aho.osexual when responding to my j query as to why no bags in the store. Are they trained to flimflam customers with lies? At Palmyra I had a huge number of items and did a balancing act to get everything into a cart and completely to my car and not drop anything. At Palmyra Goodwill the same red-haired clerk fid the same thing to me 1 year past. He also exposed himself in the men's toilet and discussed sexual matters in a matter of fact way.

Desired outcome: Will the person reading this please respond with the new lies the employees use to cover the original ones

Goodwill Industries Employee

I was meet by an employee outside. Leaving Goodwill on Wednesday April 12, 2023. At the Durango location, around 1:30pm The employee was outside sitting on the ground having a cigarette, and drink break. A white woman with dirty blonde hair, and a ponytail. Small frame build body type...As I turned to walk toward my car, going pass her. She abruptly said "Is that your car!" I stopped and said "What car." She stated "The black one." I said "Yes". I thought that something was wrong, someone broke a window, or maybe I had parked improperly. I asked her what was wrong. She them said "Must be nice." Though I thought that was a very strange thing to say to a customer. I continued to speak with her for about 2 mins talking about building credit. I then walked away to my car. Wishing her a blessed day. This is my issue with the comment. "Must be nice". It's passive aggressive, and extremely condensing. Also I had no idea this employee was even watching me, to know which car was mine. Why is she watching me? She made a comment about seeding me come to that Goodwill often. The area is wealthy. There are lots of expensive cars in the parking lot. I am not sure why I was singled out. It's extremely inappropriate to make such a comment to a customer. Yes, I shop there often. I don't want to worry about the safety of my car, while shopping at Goodwill.

Desired outcome: "Must be nice." is extremely condescending. Making me think the employee felt negatively about the kind of car I drive. Please speak with this employee about Diversities and appropriate dialogue towards customers.

Goodwill Industries Goodwill Industries of Eastern NC

Let me start by stating that I am a frequent customer and donator of the Goodwill. I literally shop in various locations several times a week for my grands and family.

The staff at this location is extremely rude and sketchy! They hold items for their friends and family and up-charge on items when the prices are clearly listed on the board behind the check out counter.

I had a horrible experience at this location, I attempted to ask about an item that was sitting on the sales floor and was told that the item was sold! Now I’m not new to Goodwill so I’m aware that when an item is sold, there is a sold tag that would be placed on the item! This item did not have a sold tag on it, but the woman stated it was sold and refused to give me a price. Literally 3 mins. Later a woman and a young child rushed into the store and she took them

Over to the item and sold it to her after I asked about the item! (See Photos for transaction).

Secondly, she was made aware that I took a photo of the item and the complete transaction as she discussed it with her friend that she was holding it for, as they stood at the counter speaking about the item and my interest while her friend mentioned she would be back to put in an employment application. (Sketchy).

This is the type of shenanigans that is going on at this particular location.

Once I approached the counter to check out with the items that I was able to secure, the same store associate tried to up-charge me for a pair of kids sneakers that should have been $2.49 she wanted to charge me $6.99. I declined the item because the price on the board directly behind the counter showed $2.49 for kids shoes. (SMH)

To lie about an item being sold when it actually wasn’t is one thing but then to try to overcharge me for my item is disgusting

The Goodwill is a Non Profit Organization that helps out the local community, but the local community do not want to be taken advantage of by unprofessional workers who are only working there for their own personal/selfish gain.

It’s a shame that the brand of the company and what they are attempting to do for the local community is being tarnished by people working there who are being petty and selfish.

I do intend to take my complaint higher because there is no telling how long this type of behavior has been going on at this particular location and I feel that it needs to be brought to the attention of the Corporate Office.

The Goodwill may need to hire some

Secret shoppers and some

Secret Staffers to make sure that their Brand is not being tarnished by their employees!

I buy and donate quite often and just simply do not appreciate the deception and the overcharging of items when prices are clearly listed at the cash register.

Desired outcome: But integrity, respect, and accountability are the first things that come to my mind in any business.

Goodwill Industries 8.00 cargo pants

I bought a pair of men’s cargo pants for a co worker. They were too big. I haven’t had a chance to return them because of work. I didn’t want the money back I just wanted to exchange for a smaller size. I went to the Goodwill in Homestead where I bought them from and the cashier said the receipt was only good for seven days . I didn’t know this so I asked her to call the manager she called out for Jose the manager to come over for him to dismissively tell me since the receipt is passed seven days I can’t do anything. I just wanted to exchange I didn’t realize I was in an exclusive boutique. Jose behaved as if he’s the manager of a Lord and Taylor. Not very friendly and not very understanding. I left the pants. Just ranting cause I think you should extend the returns. Thanks

Desired outcome: Change the return wi dow

Goodwill Industries Dressing rooms closed

The Parmer location in Austin Texas dressing rooms are always closed. Why won't they open them. They refuse to give reason. Covid is over, other locations have open dressing rooms. Women are changing clothes out in the open because they can't use the dressing rooms. Naked women in the store is disgusting. Please open the dressing rooms. Staff is completely rude also. Please hire new people. This location sucks! I'm telling all my friends and posting a complaint on Google maps and yelp. Good luck getting customers after this. Please just open dressing rooms. I don't need to see naked women when shopping for luggage

Desired outcome: Open dressing rooms to try on clothes because yeah you can return them but only for store credit. You put all the other thrift stores out of business now your scamming customers out of their money

Goodwill Industries Overprice tv, so that employee from another store could buy it with the discount

So a week ago at the Mid Rivers Mall location in Goodwill I came in and saw a TV Samsung 60 inch it was $250.

I asked why was the TV priced so high? The reason I asked this question was because I had just purchased a TV not even seven days ago a Samsung 55 inch for $149 the person I spoke with told me that oh just pay attention to the tag When it goes on sale, then get it it’ll be here.

I came back two days later the same sales person told me oh man it just sold about 30 minutes before you came. I asked him about the sticker pricing he told me about and how it would go on sale and how nobody would buy it because it was priced so high And he said no a goodwill employee from another store came and bought it. I told him that I should report that person in the store for pricing the item so high I mean come on a 5 inch difference I had just purchased a 55 inch for $150 why would 60 inch cost $250 ? I’m currently finding my receipt to try and return my TV because I just don’t like how they did me and I spend a lot of money with the Goodwill is my way of giving back the Goodwill does so much for people. I can’t believe that one person would take the way that I feel about the goodwill industries .

Desired outcome: My desired outcome is I would like some kind of retribution for the overprice item that I could’ve purchased when I saw it, but was highly price so that an employer could purchase it. It seems to me that it was a hand to hand deal.

Goodwill Industries Extremely rude employees

I shop at this particular Goodwill all the time and have for years. The employees have never went out of their way to be welcoming or to make me feel comfortable. But today was ridiculous how rude they were. It was so bad I left a cart full of merchandise. One girl was so sour acting and literally rolled her eyes at me. I'd never seen here there before. Well as I was getting ready to check out the girl I just described and a red headed boy walked past me and gave me a dirty look. I proceeded to to say to them " you all are so friendly here" The young red headed little boy smarted off abd replied back " Yes we are" abd and they looked at each other and laughed. I'm a 55 year old woman and never have been disrespected by a business employees like this incident. I'm beyond hurt, humiliated and heart broken over the treatment I received. If this is the kind of treatment Goodwill let's their employees by with I guess I don't need to enter another store. I'm appalled at the disrespectful treatment I endured today. I have spent thousands of dollars with the company including always rounding up my total to donate to your establishment.

Desired outcome: I want the employees punished. My feelings are so hurt. I think they deserve some kind of hurt also.

Goodwill Industries Manager misconduct

3/19/23 3:00pm Greensburg, PA

I was politely inquiring about an article of clothing that was going to be processed for sale. I was met with two cashiers who were actually extremely positive and helpful but I can't say the same for the manager and the old gentleman who worked the back stockroom. I was told the item would be ready in an hour so I came back just to be told it would be another 30 minutes. I came back in 30 minutes just to be told it still wasn't ready. This is where I took it upon myself to ask the polite cashier if I could personally speak with the manager who was in the back. When I was attempting to speak with the manager, I was met with this older gentleman who was very confrontational and was raising his voice at me while I spoke calmly. I don't know if his tone was coming from a place of racism because I was merely trying to explain to him that ive been patiently waiting for 2 hours and he just progressively showed me more and more anger. Simplest words, he was a miserable human being. He told me the article of clothing would be ready in 20 minutes and then he immediately backtracked and said he doesn't want to have it ready for me. This man was nothing but a miserable energy and his behavior was unwarranted and he's clearly dealing with something deeper and taking it out on a customer that has nothing to do with his internal conflict. A relative of mine had called to ask if this clothing could be ready in the morning to be picked up... The manager Rachel apologized for the misconvenience and said the item could be picked up right now. I drove down and the lady had intentionally overpriced the item to $59.99 knowing fully well that I would be wasting my time and money on a trip just to see an overpriced item. There's a similar item at the time on the sales floor priced at $3.99. So it's no exaggeration that this manager is just being bitter and evil just like her coworker and this is a terrible way to represent a business. Having me come back 3 times to price a 3.99 item to 59.99 because they are in their states of negative emotions. That's just an evil human in my eyes. Especially when my family has donated to this Goodwill for over 30 years. Takes seconds to lose a customer and with this treatment I've wrote about, that's exactly what's happened all due to the miserable energy someone feels the need to project for whatever sad reason. God bless those kind cashiers, I hope they find themselves a better environment with a manager that knows kindness. If there's video and audio footage of the situation I would definitely recommend that corporate take a look at it and let themselves be the judge on the matter.

Desired outcome: Accountability or termination of Rachel. She allowed a store employee have a loud tantrum towards me in front of customers and treated me with absolute disrespect

Goodwill Industries Unprofessionalism from management!

I’m a regular Customer at Goodwill in Laplace, but after yesterday’s visit, I won’t be anymore!

Sunday, March 12 th. The half off sign said, it was Black, another Customer asked Kim (Assistant Manager) what was the color, she said white. I politely said, Ms. Kim the sign says Black. She had the worse attitude, and told me it’s Black and White! Once before some boots weren’t priced, the sign say Women’s Boots are $6.99 unless marked otherwise. Again, Kim went off about they need to be marked, those boots are not no $6.99

My question was, don’t pricing goes on in the back, and then bought out? Her Attitude is not Managerial Material! And I’m not the only one that has spoken of her attitude! And she talks about the Staff’s Business with Customers! I’m done!

Desired outcome: Further Training!

Goodwill Industries A return.

I tried to return 2 curling irons this morning to my local Hillsboro Ohio Goodwill. They were both in original boxes. When I took them out to try them, because my Goodwill does not do that, I could not believe how sticky the handles were. I had bought them for my two granddaughters but there was no way I would have given them to anyone. However when I took them back, according to the manager It had been over 7 days and they could no longer be returned. I told her that with the tornado that came through my community last weekend, I had lost my electric for 3 days and couldn't get my car out of my garage because I had a door opener on it that of course is electric. She said it was too bad she still couldn't do it. I got angry & told her to keep them.

Now I am a 76 year old lady and up until today I was a good customer of your stores. I was excited when we finally got a Goodwill in our town but I will no longer be shopping there nor donating there. Up until today my only complaint was that everyone who works there is an utter grump. They seem to look down their noses on people who shop there. In any event I told the manager

Desired outcome: Please refund and change your refund policy to at least a month like other stores. Also hire people who enjoy working and like people.

Goodwill Industries Current level of "meanness" as a money-making strategy

In my town, there are no more changing rooms, so you can't try things on. When I went to return items that didn't fit, I discovered there was a 7 day return window. The GW cashier helpfully pointed out that that was printed at the bottom of my receipt. So. I just want you to imagine these possibilies:

1 No one reads every word on a receipt. When was the last time you read every word after shopping for groceries?

2 All your items ARE DONATED. How does it impact you to leave a longer time-period for returns?

3 People who shop at GW are typically people of limited means. And no, I don't have the money to shop anywhere ever week except the grocery.

4 So your policy has essentially robbed me of my items, which cost you NOTHING to procure, so

5 This leaves you looking like mean B*stards, and leaves me with empty pockets AND nothing to wear.

Tell whatever Big Wig thought this up, Congratulations. Suggest you change your name to anything not including Good or Will.

Desired outcome: Change this arbitrary, mean-spirited policy. Give folks at least a month to circle back.

Goodwill Industries Product pricing

Wanted to buy a glass item that was on the shelf with a $1.97 sticker. When I got to the register they said I couldn't buy it because it didn't have the newer sticker. I why was it on the shelf? The last time I was here I wanted to buy something and there was no sticker. They said I couldn't buy it because it needed to be reprocessed. I've been shopping at this goodwill store sometimes 2 times a week for the last 10 years or more. They said it had to be processed. My guess is they are going to take it in the back, resticker it at 2 or 3 times the price. I understand the new no sticker policy but it had a sticker . That's false advertising to rip off customers. Never shopping at this store again. I have spent so much money here over the years. I'm very disappointed. Things are donated and I understand you are trying to make money from free items, but that is just wrong!

Desired outcome: I would like an an apology. Any other store would sell you the item with the price that's on it. Not this one. What a shame, they list a good customer. I referred this store to a lot of people.
