My promotional purchase (fees for dental service) was to become due on June 6/11/06. On 5/14/06 I had my credit card send an electronic payment for the entire principle of the loan. I have the confirmation number of this transaction. For some unknown reason, which GE Money Bank has refused to explain, this payment was returned to my credit card. Immediately upon the notice of its return, I sent a letter to them asking for the reason for the return of the electronic payment. I have the letter from my credit card company to substantiate this rejection. I then replied with two payments within the specified time. I was overseas at the time, and although I immediately made payment, GE Money Bank did not credit the payments to my account until June 17, 2006. Of course, this made the payment APPEAR to be delinquent. Since then, I have sent at least 9 letters, including documentation, called their toll free number numerous times. Each time I called I was told to put my complaint in writing. Each written response was followed with a form letter asking me to phone their toll free number. One representative suggested that I might FAX the information. I did this TWICE and never received the courtesy of a reply. Meanwhile, the account has been referred to a collection agency and finally to an attorney. The total amount GE claims that I now owe in finance charges and late fees is $2,126.76 ALL IN INTEREST and LATE FEES. Although the federal and state consumer regulations state that the creditor must answer written complaints within a specified time, this has yet to be done.

file formal complaints with the Federal Trade Commissiona nd the office of Thrift Supervision

GE will not deal with anything - they need to be investigated and the only way to do that is for all of us having problems file these complaints and get the Government to fix THEM.

Sounds word for word like my horror story and others. File lawsuit against Zen Windows here in Columbus Ohio due to DEFECTIVE product and installation. Financed though GE MoneyBank. Interest and payments starts year later while we wait for court dates. Sending expensive photos and documentation with GE dispute forms. Took three tries before they acknowledge reciept of packets. Add GE to lawsuit. Having to send dispute form every third month as they say dispute settled, start sending invoices again. The hours and and dollars wasted trying to get anyone at GE MoneyBank to take responsibility, return calls, respond with the same answer twice. Consumer protections laws broken without any conscience. Now we are going into second winter with windows which will not seal / close. Have to duct tape the cracks. Out of plumb, warped, bowed, flawed. And still GE MoneyBank wants their payments. Umph! So sorry to hear that this seems to be the normal practice for GE MoneyBank. Strength in numbers though, lets hang in there. Any suggestions are appreciated. S.

Record the phone call. Be sure you tell them you are recording the call. Tell them for each addtional phone call, you will charge them a $75 (or whatever) consulting fee. Log and record any addtional calls, reminding them that they are being charged your consulting fee. Send an invoice. If they do not pay, take them to small claims court. It works!

GE Money bank is horrible! They are the worst credit card I got. It was a huge mistake to get their card. They have poorly trained reps who can't even answer questions on phone.

I have a GE money Sam's Club Discover. They did NOT send me my rewards check for $469.49 this year. About a month ago I sent email inquiry in as to when rewards are creditited. After delaying me for 4 weeks with "forum" emails, I recieved a letter on the mail stating that a check was issued in February of 2008.. Of course I did not receive it or I would have cashed it. I called and they said that the check expired Sept. 30th of 2008. I received their letter on October 11, 2008. They said there is no recourse and it's my problem I didn't receive the check in the first place.
I will never do business with GE Money bank or Discover card ever again. What a marketing tool they have going on.
I use this card at the average rate of $2000.00 per month. They can kiss the 2-3% of that away that they charge the merchants. No wonder why our banking/credit system is in such a mess.

did not receive bill statement to pay last payment, went on line to check my balance only to find they had addded late fees&finance charges to balance. What a way to make money with times the way they are, they should be locked up for robbery without a gun. Retired&annoyed JBC

I have the payment plan through GE MONEY fo r 18 months (extended) no interest payment. After 12 months, I was charged a huge amount which now GE doesn't want to adjust. As I called them, the first person named Stepahanie was rude, rush to hung up, told me that I am added for protection plan instead cancelling. I didn't agree to enroll and she gave me a number to cancel the plan. I dial the number and it was wrong number. After 3 attempts, i got the right person but couldn't cancel the plan. Now i have more issues than before. This is bad business practice and am sure they go bankrupt soon.

GE Money Bank and the customer service there IS horrible, worse than horrible. This company is outright despicable. I urge everyone who has a GE Money Card or Bright Now Dental card to file a complaint. I spoke with a Channelle twice after being on hold for almost an hour. She was the rudest, most uncaring, unfeeling robotron I have ever encountered. She hung up on me twice and I called back and got a Vince who at least understood the legitamacy of my complaint. My due date was on the 6th and it fell on a Saturday. My statement simply said that the payment must be made by 5pm on the due date which I did. This resulted in a late fee and an increase in the minimum due on both my accounts I have and puts the payments out of my reach. This is what their intent is, to find a technicality and make the consumer pay for it. I urge everyone to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and other agencies. It is companies like this that are the reason the economy is crumbling. SHAME ON YOU GE MONEY BANK and ONLINECREDITCENTER5.COM. I won't rest until I have exhausted every means available to expose these thieves.

oh yeah, If anyone gets news that they getting closer to falling, please post here to let every one know. if It gets close to where they might be at the tipping point, I will gladly stop making my payments just to help them go under. I don't care if it hurts my credit or they take my 4wheeler away. something needs to be done about them. unfortionately, I think what they did to me is legal, so I probably can't do anything to them legally

This year I decided to purchase and ATV. The dealer set me up with GE Money Bank. I was told that My interest on my payments would be 11.9%. The loan was for close to $8000. I've been making my monthly payments of $197.09 only to find out that $73 of that $197 is going to interest and not to pay off the loan. I was told 11.9% but they are actually taking 37% interest on my monthly payments. THAT IS INSANE!
I called GE Money and I said, "there has to be something wrong here if I'm paying 37% interest on my loan when I'm making payments on time." They told me that I'm not charged for monthly payments but in fact charged interest on every day between my monthly payments that I don't make a payment. DONT LET THEM FOOL YOU. If they tell you a rate, you can bet you'll be paying three times that rate on your monthly payments. It's a-holes like this company that are the reason us citizens are going to have to bail them out for their scams on us. You can bet I will tell every one I know to watch out for GE Money bank. I'll post messages on our world wide company I work for, I'll spend as much time as I can giving GE Money Bank a bad name because they've cause me too much wasted time, way way too much stress, they manipulated me, and I'll do what every legal methods I have to make sure they get a bad name. from the sound of peoples posts on here, they are getting a bad name already. It just has to be put in more public places that more people will see. GE Money bank is worse than a common thief because they don't just take your money without you knowing it, they will lie to your face to get you into a contract where they can rob you. If GE Money goes under, and I hope to god they do, I'll be very greatful so they can feel what it's like to be the one getting screwed.

Five years ago I bought a TV and was being billed by GE money bank. I have paid this TV off 5 yrs. ago. Now I recieved a letter that I am being sued from GE money bank for 2, 500. That is way more than the TV cost. Anyone have any advice? My credit is ruined due to this company. That company needs to pay people back and be shut down.

It's amusing, I've been beating myself up these past couple years thinking that I was the ONLY sucker to have fell to GE Money Bank corruption and deceitfulness. To everyone whom have made posts explaining their stories, my heart goes out to you and I give you best wishes in resolving your GE Money Bank problem. I too have a story, but I hate and dispise GE Money Bank so much that it is difficult to describe in word what they did to me. Essentially when I am asked what GE Money Bank has done to me, I simple put up my middle finger and then point it at myself! Because that is what they did to me! GE Money Bank are scam artists! Their 0% promotion offer is a trap, and a sneaky TRAP! Do not trust them, they will cancel your promotion, they won't tell you, they will charge you all sort of fees from "random finance charges" to "late charges" (even if you are early) and everything else. They are crooks, and I really, really hope that the CEO and Suits of GE Moneyare cursed with bad Karma. I mean some really bad Karma! And even more so, I want justice. They have STOLEN over $3000 from me and I didn't have the money at the time, and I STILL don't have that type of cash. I want justice. SIGN ME UP FOR THE CLASS ACTION SUIT PLEASE. I want to do whatever it takes to bring justice to GE Money Bank. I want them bankrupt!

P.S. Not many mentioned this, but WHY DOESNT GE MONEY REPRESENTATIVES SPEAK ENGLISH!? You know what I'm talking about.

I only had got 2000 dollars worth of work done 14 months ago they have got a payment from me ever month some they said was late.I now owe them 2198 and it has been 14 months. The last payment was due on the 5th of September they posted the payment on the 7th which was a sunday. They claim that is when they got the payment but last I checked US MAIL does not run on Sunday. These people are one of the reasons our country is in the shape that it is in no wonder people are losing their homes and the bad thing about this is its not like you went out and got 2000 dollar shoes it was for your health.Lets hope that somewhere the right person will see what their doing and put and end to their cheating.

Oh, boy! This GEMB reminds me of how bad my previous cell phone company used to be.
I chose GEMB because I thought I'd be getting A DEAL because my relative worked for Rooms To Go last April when I took out the loan. Boy did I get a big surprise! It is more than a year later from
the original purchase date, I have a 29% APR on furniture (you'd think it wasmade of gold). Now, each month I have a fee of $55 that solely goes to interest alone.
According to these people, my interest rate skyrocketed beacuse I was late on my very first bill(which was delivered to my previous address). However, my furniture was all delivered to my brand new address! I feel this is not my fault, however, I send the money every month wondering if the account will EVER GET PAID OFF! My wife has recommended we sell their furniture to pay off that hideous debt, but I don't want to be sleeping on the floor and having our guests sit Indian style on the Living Room floor...LOL

We have been out of town for a few days and when I opened my mail today, there is a letter from GE Money Bank regarding my Wal-Mart Account - 1247. Letter claims that due to an inadvertent error, transaction(s) made after June 10, 2008 may not have been posted to my account, the transaction is being posted and will appear on my next billing. No explanation as to amount, what the item was and why this company is so dilatory in not posting a supposeded purchase. Who fault is it that someone inefficient did not post a (?) purchase to my account. This is wrong. I did not even know that Wal-Mart is a part of GE Money Bank who I understand has a horrendous record. I don't like surprises and don't know what on earth GE Money Bank is referring to. Please explain.

My daughter has had a heck of a time with GE Money Bank, as I previously had. I bought eyeglasses from Lenscrafters through their credit card, which is a GE Money Bank card, paid it off in full, have since had credit problems due to my husband's layoff from work and subsequent SSD retirement, and received a letter from them advising they were closing my acount because "I hadn't used the card in over a year" (who gets new glasses every year?), and because my credit had changed.

To get back to my daughter, she was late (several days) on a payment, tried to buy glasses, they had a hold on her account. She made the payment (more than what was due) over the phone with GE Money Bank. After making several calls to them yesterday, she was advised her payment had gone through and she would assured on three separate occasions that she could use the card that evening. You guessed it - THEY STILL HAD A HOLD ON HER ACCOUNT AND TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE TOLD HER TWO DIFFERENT STORIES - HER PAYMENT WAS RECEIVED AND NOT POSTED, AND HER PAYMENT WAS NOT RECEIVED. She was yelled at by the male "customer service" agent she spoke to, had to ask 5 times for a supervisor, was put on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on. Needless to say, her account will be paid off and I am encouraging anyone who reads this NOT to get anything through GE Money Bank. By the way, their "customer service" people are all in India.

I bought one 08LL window air conditioner on 6/26/08 and it worked for 3 days and quit. It took a tech 2 weeks to come out to look at it and he went on vacation and forgot to order the parts according to GE. Here it is SEPT and it's not fixed yet. I will never do business with GE again as long as I live.

Sorry about the previous message since you are already paid; just keep a record of your payments. Don't worry about any future bills. Call your bank or credit card company (however you were doing payments) and be sure to say the word "fraud". You should get action.

Read all the other reviews. They are liars and crooks.
1) Determine how much you owe them less any interest or late fees
2) Send a cashier's check, certified mail, return receipt for that amount. Be sure to make sure the words "Paid in Full" are on the check.

You should not hear from them again. If you do, file a dispute with your bank or credit card company, whichever you set your payments up with. Be sure to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Bets of luck to you.

I have paid my account off with them for 6 months now. I recently received a copy of my credit report, and on it was that my account has one late payment on it. I have never made a late payment on this card ever. Because of the late payment marked by this company I now get a negative score for even having this account. I have called and asked to speak to several managers who cant speak english, and they refuse to help me, even though they can see on there screens that there was no late payment made. They have directed me to write a letter which i have had the same kind of luck(no help). For any one who wants to use this company to buy anything dont, the customer service is terrible and they have no one in charge who can help or fix anything even when they are WRONG.
