GE Money Bank overcharge on 1st installment

Oh, boy, did I learn the hard way at the 1st automatic payment. This organization was recommended to me by the dental office I went to for dental implants. Figuring the dentist was esteemed in the community, the company he recommends must be reputable. I signed up online to have $4, 225.00 deducted from my husband's bank account @ the credit union (Sikorsky Federal Credit Union in CT) with automatic payments monthly, over the course of 12 months. Well, with deduction #1, they withdrew the full amount. This left us with an overdraft fee, as well as perplexed & angry. Anyone in their right mind would know you wouldn't go anywhere near a plan as such if you planned to pay it all off @ once, on the 1st payment. I SIGNED UP FOR MONTHLY AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWALS, NOT A SINGLE PAYMENT OF THE FULL BALANCE ON THE FIRST MONTH. Additionally, I cannot access my account online, as they have locked me out. I spoke with customer service, & they tell me I must have pushed an incorrect button on the computer. I beg to differ. I am literate & conscientious as well as really disturbed by this company. If there is any other information I can provide you with, please do not hesitate to contact me @ [protected]. I am amazed that any company is capable of such behavior. However, when I googled GE money & BBB, I see I am not alone. Thank you, in advance. Clair Fink

GE Money Bank change of payment terms

I have financed many purchases using GE Money Bank. Many major items have been purchased for our home using the one year deferred finance charge promotion through ABT electronics in Glenview IL. December 2009 a few holiday items were purchased. When the bill arrived I paid it accordingly as I have paid on this same charge account number for many years. The terms of the charge have been changed from NO PAYMENT DEFERRED INTEREST TO WITH PAYMENT DEFERRED INTEREST ! My payment was a few days late for their New Terms.

GE Money Bank charged me a late fee of $39.99 for a purchase of $480.71. This is a charge of 8.25% of the totatl balance due on this account. They sucker punched me by sneaking in different terms on the deferred interest account. Annual percentage interest if charged would have been 18.37 vs 39.99 charged under the label of Late Fee. This is outrageous! I have paid this company $200.00 per month on a regular basis to keep my account in good standing.

I own GE Stock, Buy GE Appliances - Now I have a better idea why this company is struggling!

GE Money Bank Be Warned!

This company is presented by dentists, doctors, vets, etc. to help people cover costs when they don't have the cash to pay for them.

In an emergency many of us have little or no choice. For example, a person desperate to save a pet's life or in need of an emergency root canal may find Care Credit to be the only real option.

I'm okay with this, I could even deal with a higher interest rate. But to charge a HUGE rate of about 30% THEN charge a MONTHLY "finance charge" of almost $40 per months, is effectively bleeding consumers dry for years to come.

If a person can't pay for services at the time of visit, how will they ever pay this card off? This sort of thing should be illegal!

Care Credit could easily provide this service at a lower rate and ditch the finance charge and people would happily use this service forever. Instead, we are resorting to these postings and searches for class actions.

This company preys on the hardships and tradgedies of it's clients. This is NOT okay.

Bate and Switch: The same thing has happened to me. I paid off the promotional balance, on time with money drawn off my Health Savings Account on time-in plenty of time to not incur the interest on the medical bill. They rejected the payment without my knowledge. About two weeks after I paid off the bill, I get a "courtesy" call stating that I had missed a payment. I was flabbergasted. I called the company. The customer service rep was an idiot, telling me that GEMB does not accept payments from Health Savings Accounts. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she hung up on me. You don't hang up on me unless you want to hang yourself. So I have filed three complaints to the BBB. GEMB also conducts business in multiple states, so the consumer doesn't know who to deal with. I have had communications from them from FL where you send your payment, to OH where you send in complaints that fall on deaf ears, and now from some woman in SD(Darcey Segatti West, Corporate Specialist, Consumer Relations). The latest communications I received from GEMB states, "unfortunately, GEMB does not accept payments from HSAs submitted as a debt" even after I called my bank. My bank told me that I can use the money in my HSA to pay off any bill I want. The designation HSA is only for IRS purposes, not GEMB's purposes. It's simply a checking account. Money is money. My bank resubmitted with the very same account information I sumbitted to GEMB on 04/14/2011, and GEMB took my money from the very same account I used the first time. So which is it? Do they accept money from health savings accounts or don't they? This is just another example of greedy credit card companies engaging in unethical billing and collection practices, trying to stiff the consumers. I am warning everybody, "Do NOT get talked in to using a GEMB card to pay any doctor or dentist." It isn't worth the harassment. Medicaid patients don't have to even pay a copay if they don't have the money, so why are working class consumers being forced in to contracts with companies like GEMB? To Mary K: GEMB doesn't have to cancel my card, I cut the blame thing up and threw it in the trash!
Please send my any email communications to tmcnei50@yahoo.com if you have any more hassle from GEMB. I think a class action law suit against the company is in order mys elf after reading that suggestion on this board. Apparently, GEMB is engagin in unethical billing and collection practices across the board. I will NEVER use that card again and stick with my own money market account at BB&T, a bank that I trust and knows me.

GE Money Bank PAYOFF

I have a Walmart credit card that is owned by GE MONEY BANK.It had a $300 limit. Needless to say we got behind on it about 2 yrs. ago. Well the bill got up to over $600 in late fees and finance charges and everything else they charge. GE put it into a special collections unit where we pay $20 a month. It is now down to $511.54. I was able to get $4oo scrapped together and thought I could negotiate a payoff. I was wrong. I called today 02-10-2010 and spoke with 2 different people before I asked for the Supervisor Mr.Daniel McNeel. He told me that my account wasn't 2months behind and NO he would not accept taking $400 to settle the $511.54 account. I said it would take 2.5 yrs. to pay it off at $20 a month so why not accept the $400? He promptly `said No again and hung up on me. I hope GE MONEY BANK PEOPLE READ THIS BECAUSE IT'S NOT THE ONLY WEBSITE I HAVE REPORTED THIS ON. It is amazing the credit card places want these things paid off but they wont accept your payment. Oh and Mr.Daniel Mcneel you are a very rude person.

GE MOney Bank is a fraud, They cashed a settlement check a year ago, months later it came up on my credit report as closed account but with a balance. 2/10 I had my attorney write them a letter asking them to clear the balance and then by April one of their reps, Ms. Jaime Brown wrote me a letter saying " they were not accepting the settlement as I did not send the settlement to the correct address" I did not mail the settlement to the payment address but to an address that someone would have had to look at the settlement, their was 2 address at the top of the billing statement. GE MOney bank /Old Navy has added fees to this account all year. Then I did respond to the letter from Ms. Brown letting them know I would not be making any payments as my settlement was very legal under the "accord & satifaction law".
Now GE money is claiming that they have been mailing me bills all year when in fact I never got any bills from Them until June 2010 when they mailed one. Now they say my account was market as BK so again they never mailed any bill. They say one thing and another to try and cover their butts so to speak. GE money called my husband who is not on the account at the end of May 2010 and told him all the details of this account and said I had not paid. That is Illegal as he is not a party to the account. Then June I got a bill that I mailed back market no payment due to settlement. I filed a compalint with BBB of Ohio and now we are at odds no end in sight. GE money has reps respond after the 3rd notice from BBB and leave phone numbers for me to contact them when called no one by that name is their. I spent a day calling getting no were. I looked up the complaint board to find many, many conplaints against GE money back. Beware of this company and their fees. I now have wrote a letter to the head of GE money bank and we will see what happens next. The head if Gerard Ryan.

I too paid off an agreed amount with them and still had extra funds to pay. I still have not received my title for payoff either and I am about to have my lawyer send a letter to the Federal Trade Commission and BBB. They have exceeded the limit in the State of TN which they must abide by since this is where I commissioned the card. I have a lawyer in New York and is headed to the courthouse on Tuesday. Good luck with you!

GE Money Bank Fraudulent charge on my CareCredit account

It is very sad that such bank is still allowed to do business in this country. I have read most of the complaints and more I read into more sick to my stomach I feel.

I will start with the dentist, which seems to be associated with this Bank. On 2006 and January of 2007 I had dental treatment performed, part of which has been covered by my two dental policies and part as out of pocket expenses upon an agreement with the dentist. I have paid as agreed up to the last penny. I have records that I have issued payments in the amount of $ 4, 500 and the insurance issued funds to this doctor in the amount of $ 7400. Having this said, on January of 2010 this doctor sends me a bill for $5000 as a balance for treatment provided in 2006 and January of 2007 which on a first look, seemed to be just a erroneous statement on their end, and to which I had responded, stating clearly that I do not have anything outstanding and politely requested them to clear this amount from their system. Upon the receipt of my letter, they even had the nerve to call me and request this non-existing overdue balance according to their calculations at which I hung up on them not being interested to listen after three years of the date of treatment to anything they had to say. Just to clarify here, upon the last visit in January of 2007 I had everything settled with this doctor, and there were neither any phone calls nor bills sent to me within this past 3 years (not that I had expected any ... but I'm stating this just as a fact).

At this point, GE Money Bank, through their CareCredit business becomes a factor. Out of $ 4400 which were my out of pocket expenses, I had paid $ 2260 via this credit card, which I was lured to apply for by this dentist while going for treatment. There was a 12 months interest free promotion on this card, so that's why I had accepted their business. I had paid the full amount within 8 months, so there was no way they would get me down for any interest or any finance charges. After reading all the statements on this forum I do consider myself very lucky here. However, it never crossed my mind to cancel this card, and I had never used since ... and that was a big mistake, because, upon my letter to the dentist office from January of 2010 responding to their inaccurate billing, this office had contacted customer support at CareCredit, which ... and this is mind bugling to me, gave them the green light to charge my credit card in their file for treatment provided even prior to the date when this credit card account has been opened (not that I own anybody anything, but hypothetically speaking, even if I would, that doesn't give them the right to fraudulently charge my credit card with no consent). I have called their customer reps numerous times, stating that this is a fraudulent charge, and there was never a consent/authorization on my end, therefore they should cancel this transaction immediately. They were very rude, and had told me to go to the police and wait 8 to 10 business days for the "dispute form" to arrive by mail, after which I could follow up into this matter. I was even told to make sure that they will get this dispute, which I found it nerve wracking. I have sent all my correspondence with certified mail, so they had no choice and acknowledge my dispute with a letter on their own, where instead of a re-assurance that they will investigate in their customer's best interest, they warn me of "delinquency" and "action to collect" unpaid funds. They have even sent me the very first statement, which has a balance due on it! It is so frustrating and I'm filling complaints everywhere from the "Office of Thrift Supervision" at Washington, to the "Office of Atty General of NY" to their CEO Mark Begor, to their main offices ... and this is just the beginning.

I could guarantee you that I will never stop and never give in as some of you, and which sadly have given up to fight against such monstruous corporation ... even if I have to go to all the NY local media and spread the word about these fraudulent practices.

GE Money Bank Poor Customer Service

I signed up for the Amazon.com store card when making several large purchases. I received a substantial discount and free shipping as a result. I ended up cancelling the card less than three months after signing up for it because of the horrible customer experience offered by GE.

My first payment was due on December 12 - I had to make the minimum payment to honor the no interest for 12 months offer. No problem there.

My second payment was January 12 - I screwed up and forgot to make my payment. I went online on January 16 and submitted a payment in full (I didn't want to incur any interest). I didn't realize that by default I had selected the next statement due date (February 12) as the date the payment would go through.

The very next day, I received four (!) missed calls from Amazon. The following day I missed two calls from Amazon before answering the third. I explained to them that I had posted a payment and they said everything would be fine.

A week went by with no calls, then all of a sudden they went nuts and started calling me at all hours of the day. They even woke me up one Sunday morning wanting to know why I haven't paid. I spoke with an extremely rude person in an offshore call center and explained to them that they need to check their systems for a scheduled payment, and that further phone calls would not be acceptable.

After receiving between 15-20 phone calls and at least two emails, I logged in to the Amazon.com storecard website and modified my payment date to February 2 in the hopes that Amazon/GE would get off my back. Again, the full amount owed was to be paid.

On February 4 I start receiving calls every two hours on my work phone. On February 5 the calls continued. I logged in to the credit card website and noticed that even though I had received email notifcation about my payment going through on February 2, nothing had happened. I ended up deleting the pending payment and created a new payment to pay off the account in full and made sure to set the payoff date to today (February 5)

Not two hours later, I received yet another call. I spoke with another incompetent and rude offshore call center rep. I told them that I was through with their poor customer service and that I wanted to close my account. She wouldn't listen and kept insisting that I pay $30 to bring my account up to date. After making her check my account, she realized that the account would be paid off in entirety and she attempted to end the call. I asked her at least three times to cancel the account, each time she pretended not to hear me and said something along the lines of "ok you're account is up to date, thank you for your business". I kept insisting though and she finally got it. There were several weird moments of silence. I'm pretty sure the rep was getting someone else to listen in on the conversation.

I immediately wrote a letter to GE money bank after my experience to let them know why I left. I have never in my life been treated so poorly by a company. Buyer beware: whatever Amazon may offer you, it's not worth it. I love Amazon and I will continue to shop there, but I'll stick with my own credit cards from now on. Never again will I purchase another GE product or service, though.

after I posted my complaint tonight, i called a different GE Money person at [protected]. during our call - she connected with the collections department, then came back on the line and told me not to expect any more collections calls. she furthermore refunded my late fee - she didn't have to that, but that was pure gravy. she said that the adjustments would show on my next statement. she sounded rally nice and professional. give it a try.

i got the info from (https://www.onlinecreditcenter6.com/consumergen2/search.do?searchCriteria=top#Contact_Us)

GE Money Bank Automatic Payments and Customer Serivce

I love going to discount tire and I have had a credit card with them for years. However the credit card company is GE! They have the 90 days up to 6 months no interest. However, I had been paying more then the min for a few months and this month changed the payment because I needed to pay other things and when I went to check my account they took out the full amount and not the min as I requested online and recieved confirmation via email. I called customer service and they couldn't do anything so they transferred me to an exclation specialist. I waited for someone to answer the phone for over an 90 minutes. This is ridiculous... Someone needs to do something with this company. They are horrible and have horrible customer service. NO one should have to wait 90 minutes on the phone for someone to answer. NO help they were. I have to dispute it with my bank..and fax GE copies.. O boy. How long is this going to take?

GE Money Bank Autopay Account Issue

GE Money sends confirmation that online payment is set up, but does NO follow up email notification if information is incorrect, e.g., if you enter incorrect bank routing number, etc. Their system could verify account information up front, instead, GE Money waits until a payment is process and fails. If this happens, GE Money charges return "check" fee and charges a late payment. They leave a electronic voice message on you machine that sounds like a typical marketing message, not an alert that something is amiss with your account. When I called to correct my error, their tele-representative asked never informed me of $15 charge for phone payment. I called and all charges were reversed as a "one time" courtesy.

I told the escalation specialist that it makes no sense for GE Money not to verify the account information and send an email if there is a problem, before sending the "confirmation" that the account was set up. This obviously leads people to believe they input the correct routing and account numbers. I confirmed with my bank that GE Money doesn't have to wait to withdraw the funds to confirm the account information was correct. I will never conduct business with GE Money in the future and will be wary of all other financial institutions.

Regulations should require confirmation of correct account information and immediate (or as soon as possible) customer notification if an error has been made. I will also write to GE Money's Sr. Operations Manager, Mike Albin, to express my discontent. I will also write the appropriate congressional member involved with credit card reform.

Thank you for your time.

this company is the biggest SCAM COMPANY out there. i have NO CLUE how they get away with doing the things they do. I called in to make the final payment on a dental bill i had and was socked with a $1, 600.00 "late fee payment" for not paying my bill within one year. Now, i had made each months payments ON TIME each month and missed the 1 -year date by a a few days and they still socked me $1, 600 in fines. my bill was only $3, 000. i had no CLUE there was even a penalty if you didnt pay within the year. This is highway robbery and i dont even know how this can be considered legal. This company should be ashamed of itself.

GE IS HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE AND THEY ARE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF HARDWORKING AMERICANS..SHAME, GE!

The first person that wrote in -you're wrong. It IS GE's fault b/c they are stating that "payment" is made. That is the incorrect wording. They should say, "We received your attempt to make a payment. Actual payment will not be received until your bank approves." So take a deep breath and apologize, babe, because their wording is royally faulted.

I've had all the same things happen to me at GE, plus they never put "Account Security" on my account when they said they would and when I called to find out why, they had a "tough luck" attitude. Their late fees are $40 plus an additional $40 for an NSF fee, which applies even if there ARE funds in your account but they don't have the correct wording for it so they call it NSF, regardless. Most of the employees there are rude. Every now and then, there is a good one, but they rarely help, if ever. It's unfortunate b/c their company is not based on giving good customer service. They really don't care how they treat you. They might say differently but when you encounter a problem, and especially if you encounter more than one, they basically don't care.

SOLUTION:
Don't charge exhorbitant late fees
Don't charge exhorbitant NSF fees
Don't charge $80 fees (late and NSF)
Don't call it an NSF fee when your website is the problem
Give people paying their bills a chance to make mistakes
Make online payments due at midnight/not 5pm Eastern time
Put the online due time on the FRONT of the bill, in bold
Treat customers like they're paying your income -they are
Give the 8-digit call number on Account Security acceptances
Have employees follow up 2 weeks later with upset customers
"Confirmation" that "payment" is made -call it something else
Increase the font size on your site on imp. rules & bold them

GOOD THING ABOUT GE:
They allow for credit up to 3 months without payment
They allow for a decent credit line

This is the problem with “customer service” I received no service at all. GE has this beautiful way of ripping off the little guy. If you receive a late fine and it is an accident, then they tell you that they will CREDIT the account. They may do so to the balance, BUT you still have to pay the $40 up front on your bill. YOU ARE OUT $40 immediately and they say that everything is back to normal, but you are out $40. If you do not make the payment, then your account will roll over until “enough money is on your minimal payment due that you will never be able to afford to pay off the account”. Most businesses do not operate this way. Just another way for the big bankers to screw the little guys. This country is going downhill fast.

GE has no idea the account info you provided was not good until your bank rejects the payment as unable to locate account. When you set up the payment you were given the option to verify the acct info you put in. GE is not at fault for your error.

GE Money Bank credit card fees, bad business practices

I want to warn everyone out there to stay away from opening any type of a line of credit or credit card with GE Money bank. My spouse and I opened a joint credit account to handle some recent home improvements and it has been a nightmare since day one. My statements have been consistently incorrect. Upon inquiry to their customer service center they provide various reasons and inconsistent responses when I attempted to determine what my true monthly payment and account balance was. After several months (during which I continued to pay them) they continued to tack on fees and call me repeatedly claiming each time that what I was told by their service representative was incorrect and I owed more than what I was paying them. Most recently, now that I've been assessed almost a thousand dollars in 'fees and penalties', I tried to sign up for a new payment schedule - the offer is that they waive the fees and you resume payments that month at 10% of the credit card balance. THEY provide you with the date the payment is due and the payment amount. I started the plan and TWO days later was contacted to say that my payment was $80.00 short and they would be assessing more fees---AGAIN - I paid exactly what they told me to pay under the terms of the new payment schedule. I caution anyone out there that reads this to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Whatever they are offering you - it's not worth it. I'm sure our credit is getting ruined and I feel like I have absolutely no recourse other than to share my story and hope others don't get trapped in the same nightmare.

I purchased 2 dirt motor cycles in 2006. GE money bank financed them. Both bikes were paid off in full in 2008. To this date I have not received either pink slips. I have called them many many times and even talked to supervior but to no avail. They first told me that is was a electronic lein and they have lifted it, so I sole one of the bikes. This is where the real problems start. The buyers went to register it and the DMV told them it still had a lein on it and that is eas a hard lein. I needed to get a letter from them releasing the title. They told me this would take 30 days, 30 Days!. After many more calls to them they told me they would send the title release letter out and that it would take 14 business days. I offered to pay foe over night shipping and gave them my FedEx account number, title letter did not and has not arrived yet, 2 days later. I am at my wits end and don't know where to go from here. I have a list of some of the board of directors but can't find any numbers or e mail addresses. I need help

GE Money Bank is the worse credit company in the world. I opened a credit card account with Cartier. Bad idea. Now every time I look at my watch I get a bad taste in my mouth. This company changed the payment due date every other month, causing my payments to be late. I would pay my bill automatically from my checking account every month. My checking account lets my know how long the payment will take to arrive the the company, which for GE money bank, has always been 5 days. This time they charged me a late fee because my payment hadn't posted until 5 days after the due date. The games GEMB plays border on criminal. I have a no payments, no interest agreement with Cartier/GEMB for this purchase up to 1 year. This card will be paid off by then. I encourage everyone to find out who supplies the credit to the department store credit cards before you apply for one. Even better, just pay cash.

Ge Money Bank is an institution that will screw you every chance they get.
We had 2 deferred interest balances. One ending in May 2010 and another ending in Oct. 2011.
Each time we sent in the minimum along with what should have paid off the earliest promotion, the payment was applied to the promotion ending in 2011 which would leave us owing interest on the first promotion.
We have to contact them every month to get the payments applied to the earliest promotion and were told that that was what we needed to do every month.
GE money bank is in business to rip it's customers off and I hope they all rot in hell for being the opposite of what our other consumer credit cards do: reduce the earliest promotions with every payment instead of the opposite.
We have reported their practices to the Federal Trade Commission as well as the BBB. What good that will do is unknown.
Don't, I repeat, don't have anything to do with this organized criminal bank.
You will be sorry.

I wished I had read commnets like this about GE Money Bank before getting an IKEA card. The problem with mine is I was charged a returned check fee of 39.99 because of an error they committed by leaving one number off of my checking account number. I think they purposely do this so that they can charge a fee. I was also charged a last payment cycle late fee of 29.99 eventhough I have proof that my payment posted to my account way before the due date and also to the credit card account as well.

I called customer service, what an ordeal to actually be able to get to customer service, and of course it was someone in India who read from a script. And never acknowledged their error. Now I guess I will have to join the long list of people complaing against GE Money Bank. I would love to be part of any class action lawsuit regarding this company build on fraud.

GE Money Bank Unfair Practice

This is the letter I sent to GE Money after they stole $811.73 from me.

To Whom it May Concern,
I am writing to express my absolute disgust regarding my recent treatment by your company and am demanding a return of the $811.73 that you deemed appropriate in charging me. In my words: stole from me.
I have been a Care Credit customer in the past, maintaining my account in excellent standing during its entire duration and in January 2009, opened another account for some long overdue and necessary dental work. In February of 2009, I began the first of these procedures posting an initial amount of $2223.27. The series of procedures commenced in late August, early September of 2009 bringing my balance up to a total of $4752.98, all the while making more than the minimum required payments AND in a timely manner.
Over the Summer of 2009 my family moved, an event during which time I submitted by mail and phone a series of address updates to various venders with whom I do business, yours being among them. The next month, very busy with a move, I noticed I did not receive a bill from your company which prompted a call on my behalf only to find out that the address update requested did not take effect and as a result, I was unable to pay my bill by the due date. The person on the phone totally apologized for the “mix-up” (her words), immediately reversed the late fee and updated my current address to avoid any future errors.
It should be duly noted that I am a full-time student, hold a full-time job, have a two and a half year old son and a wife. As such I am just a little busy and often do not take the time to read all the fine print amongst all the various and often overwhelming correspondence that typically accompanies many bills. I look for the actual bill, check the due date and amount and make payments immediately…ALWAYS.
Imaging my surprise to then find two days ago, a $811.73 finance charge with a now 29.99% interest rate of “delinquent” status. After much research I was able to locate a “late” posting on my September bill despite the fact that my records show payment being mailed in more than one week before the due date, a schedule WELL within a reasonable time frame of receipt. This has NEVER been a problem in the past.
After waiting on hold for nearly an hour, I was rudely told that I had now accrued two late payments and there was nothing I can do about it. Additionally, I was told that since this finance charge of nearly one thousand dollars had now brought me over my limit, I ‘d better make a hefty payment soon to avoid an overdraft charge. Shocked, I asked to speak with someone who may be able to help me. The woman told me “good luck, I’ll transfer you but there ain’t anything ANYONE will do for you.”
I then waited on hold for 2.5 hours…literally! I had to swap out phones due to one going dead.
A man then came on the phone. As I started explaining my story that the first “late” event was removed for fault of your company and that I’d made all payments in a timely manner despite the late posting in September, he interrupted me and rudely asserted, “Sir, I’m going to save you some time here and just tell you that NOTHING you can say will have ANY effect. So let it go, this is the way it is and it’s all in the contract.” He then said in reference to the “first” late payment that billing was only a courtesy and it’s up to me to know when a due date may be and what amount will be owed? Are you kidding me? How do I know this if there’s NO BILL?! He then said that had I only paid my bills on time, all of this could have been avoided! He also stated that there was no one higher up with whom I could address my problem, and instead then stated that the only way I could contest this is through written proof that payment was made before the due date. How do I “prove” that I mailed payment over one week before that date? How do I prove I dropped the letter in the mailbox? Did I videotape it? This is an impossibility! You win! How do I know that you did not receive my payment yet waited until AFTER the due date to post it so you could make almost $1000.00 from me? Can you prove that you did not do that? It does NOT take over one week for a letter to travel from one place in the country to another via US Postal Service. Try 1-2 days max!
I possess excellent credit, something I have worked very hard to build and maintain and take great pride in keeping. I am NOT someone who has gotten myself in a pile of unmanageable debt and now expects to be bailed out. That would be you and your buddies, thanks TARP, I mean the US taxpayer. I honor my debts and manage them well. Please tell me how a customer who can go in the course of one payment from perfect standing to the worst possible standing period? 29.99%? I did not even know that was legal? Where on Earth can anyone LEGALLY show that kind of return on their money? Where on Earth is the sense of scale and proportion here? What other business model operates in such a way? Is there not one person among all of you who thinks that maybe this is really unfair/unjust and nothing short of criminal behavior? Does no one deem it owed to a customer of PERFECT standing to take a moment’s pause and look at someone’s history and say, maybe this is not the person’s fault and we shouldn’t gouge them as much as the law will allow? “Nahhh, f%#@$ it…lets take everything we can from them!” This is nothing short of a brutal all-out assault and total disregard for anything other than to steal from people. Furthermore, you offer no reasonable means or channels through which a customer can dispute these acts of thievery. This is of course, GE, one of the BIGGEST corporate entities on the planet. How can ANYONE compete? You set the terms and we must comply. And yes, I know you must all sleep well knowing that your high-paid lawyers wrote up the disclaimers and terms-of-contract statements so obscured and cryptic that one needs to hire a CPA to translate and designed for the specific purpose of YOUR protection and not as a means to inform the consumer, but that by no means makes what you do acceptable and anything less than extortion. If the Nazis had posted a sign on the side of the trains with which they used to transport the Jews to the gas chambers, stating their soon to be tragic fates, would that have made their acts any less heinous? Not so much.

Finally, I would like to inform you of my current and past actions:

The account has now been paid IN FULL and once this is “posted” by you, I will be sending written notice of my intent to close the account and NEVER do business with you or ANY of your products again.
I have been in touch with both local and federal government and various consumer agencies and will be sending a letter every single day until congress enacts laws preventing such behavior from you and your ilk.
I have started a grassroots campaign against your company informing people of its practices, dissuading ANYONE from using your products in any way shape of form. A website accompanies this.
I have consulted MY lawyer and am ready to launch a defamation of character suit should any of your actions result in any negative information on my credit report.
I will be sending this letter to you daily.
I will be repeatedly sending this letter to ALL relevant channels, in hopes of further informing the public of your business model.

In closing, I would like to say that this charge has wiped out the entire two-month’s budget appropriated for my son’s daycare. Shame on you. I wonder what kind of devastating effect this would have on GE had you not charged me this outlandish fee? I wonder? I implore you to simply take a moment’s pause on that thought. Finally, I firmly believe that if there is a God, he/she will judge you all accordingly. I honestly do not know how someone can act with such disregard for all that is human and decent. You are a soulless machine representing EVERYTHING wrong with the world. GE spells GrEed, and how in fact you all sleep at night is beyond the scope of my comprehension. God knows what stories your minds conjure up to justify your cruel actions?
Thank you very much for your time and, although I have little hope that this letter will be met with any greater consideration and civility given my treatment thus far, I eagerly await your reply and full refund.

Sincerely,
John Doe

How about being away on vacation, of course you don't bring your invoices with you to pay or you pay before you leave. In my case I remembered on 12/23/10 (both due on 12/26) for (2) GE MONEY accounts. Since I'm a mature age and not having my passwords with me - I just went to bill-pay online with my checking. Mind you, I had been on a 6-month LOW interest payment plan (which you CAN ASK FOR AND GET - but do they ever tell you) and wasn't aware that the payment plan had expired. Not opening the invoices until due 1-2 days prior to payment since I do them online - I made the payment as per my last bill-pay amounts and WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED? My payments were made on 12/23 and I was charged a late fee of $35 for both accounts on 12/26 - the due date. Have received harassing phone calls for 1-1/2 weeks - all because the difference in the dollars on both payments now makes the accounts PAST DUE and DELINQUENT. With the economy the way it is (and it's affected me as well in O/T and commissions-NO more) GE MONEY is DAMNED LUCKY people are even attempting to continue making their payments. In fact ANY COMPANY is damned lucky to get payments from anyone. I'm also in Loan Modification which was finalized last year Jan'10 and I've been steadily making my modified loan payments. HOWEVER, good ole CHASE Bank has screwed up royally with my account. They still have me under my old mortgage loan, with my old interest rate, owing over $34, 000 in payments, have sent me over 4 other modification agreements to start all over again, and last but not least - HARASSMENT every day of the week (including Sundays - at 8:30 am to boot, which is totally against the law). I've had my home over 32 years and it will over my dead body that anyone take it away. BUT MIND YOU GE MONEY, IF NECESSARY, I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS TO A CONSUMER CONSULTING SERVICE AND THEN YOU WILL RECEIVE " Z I P P O " in any kind of late fees or interest !

GE Money Bank Discount Tire Account

I got a letter from Sandie Ingersoll, Corporate Specialist, Client Affairs, after I wrote a letter to the President of the Bank complaining about my account. I then get this rude, hard butt letter demanding I close my account or the delinquency rate would be applied to my account. I have had this account for years and have never missed a payment up until now. I lost my job this year and still made the payments. One miss was because the [censored]es didn't send me a bill. Ms. Ingersoll was unprofessional, rude and nasty. She reminds me of a female dog. I called her and left a pretty aggressive message. I subsequently closed my account. I had made arrangements to have the money deducted from my account so this didn't happen again. Call Ms. Ingersoll at the above number and hassle her. Have some fun.

They did not cancel my automatic deduction agreement and overdrew my checking account. Read all the complaints about GE Money Bank and then tell me I suck. I already wrote a letter to the president/head honcho. Get an account with this bank and then tell me I suck.

Make sure you people call Sandra Ingersoll at Corporate Headquarters if you have a problem with your Discount Tire account. She is a total ### and if she can speak English, it would be a miracle. Crap on her. Merry Christmas, Sandra. I hope it is rotten.

GE Money Bank Deceitful About Interest Rate & Terms

I planned to have a large amount of dental work performed and was thrilled when my dentist gave me a pamphlet advertising GE Money Bank’s “Care Credit.” The terms advertised were “0% interest for 12-months.” I agreed to these terms with GE Money Bank in writing. I planned to pay off my entire balance before the 12-months expired. Eight-months into this agreement, I received a letter from Care Credit stating that the terms of my credit agreement are changing in 30-days to an outrageous interest rate of 29.5%. I’ve never paid any bills to any creditors late and have no other debts. Perhaps I was naïve to think GE Money bank would even honor their advertised terms of “0% interest for 12-months, ” especially after seeing all of the other consumer complaints about them. As soon as I got the notice, I immediately paid of my entire balance. I never plan to use GE Money Bank / Care Credit ever again and wanted to warn people that GE Money Bank’s advertising of its credit terms is completely dishonest and deceitful. Since we both agreed to terms of “0% interest for 12-months, ” that is what I expected. If GE Money Bank had advertised any other terms, I would not have applied for and used their credit card. I wanted to let others know to stay away from this unscrupulous financial institution! They cannot be trusted to honor their own terms that they are advertising!

I want to be a part of any class action lawsuite against GE Money Care Credit. They lied to us, changed our payment schedule and wouldn't do anything to remedy our situation. We are out $2411.65 - soley for interest we weren't supposed to be charged. The are stealing from people and getting away with it. It isn't fair and it isn't right that this company makes it's living off of defrauding people.

Please-can somebody post an update on how to form a class action law suit against these scammers? And who to contact locally? I live in S.Florida. I had to open a care credit account because I needed emergency surgery & had no insurance. I was told that my payment was going to be affordable-$100 a month. When I received my bill after surgery I already was showing past due 1 month-the bill reflected that owed 2 monthly installments of over $600! I never had problems with my credit & didn't want to start with this so I paid over $1200! When I received my next bill it showed I owed more than I even loaned! Like if the payment wasn't even made. The credit was for $3000-And I owed over $6000 after payments-I kept track including interest and paid the almost $4000-total only to find out that I still owed over $6000-when I called for clarification-the phone rep. In india was not trained for that he was only trained to take payments! I tried on numerous occassions to resolve this and I di pay it off, but I couldn't get any kind of answer or support! I wrote them a letter & never even received a response! Fast forward 3 years later and I received a court summons that I am being sued by GE for owing over $6000? I can't beleive this is happening to me! I have never in my life been in this kind of situation especially after I paid something! To make matters worse I have since lost my job and cannot even afford a lawyer to help me thru this mess-so PLEASE if anybody knows on what I should do or how do I get involved frm Florida towards the class action lawsuit-please inform me. Thank you!

I agree with all of the above. I had dentist work done in the amount of $5, 000. I asked at the counter how much i would have to pay every month with the no interest and how many months is the contract for with GE? After 2 months I was charged interest. My dentist said it would be for 36months interest free. I called GE and they said my dentist said 2 months. They expected me to pay all that money back in 2 months/2 payments. Now come on. I wouldn't need this company for that. Why would my doc lie to me, no reason. It is GE and now I can't do nothing about it but keep paying it and the interest. Believe me I am paying all I can a months so as to get out of this mess. I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE A GE CARD with no interest. It is a lie and yes that is how they get their money. False advertising. Wish someone would take them to court. Count me in also.

I agree. Care credit / GE money bank falsely advertises their deferred interest plan. My dog got run over and needed xrays surgery. I opened the account there in the vets office over the phone. Limit of $5500. Hooray my puppy was 'saved' and I was ruined. .. THere were two options, the deferred interest w/ low monthly payments (0 interest for 12 months) or low 3.99% fixed interest. as nice as the no interest plan sounds, I learned the hard way with a computer purchase YEARs ago. So I opted for the low interest rate, b/c It was affordable, and in the long run a better option for the $[protected] bill I was about to get. Low and behold I got my first bill 2 months llater, (late) and payed that, they didn't take away the promo rate. well 3 months later (after making timely payments in excess of the minimum payment due) I lost my job, and became very ill, my friend died, my sister visited me from another country, and then my dog got shot with an arrow. Yes Im serious. I iknow bad luck. Well, I got abill for 5300 after all was said and done. They took away the promo rate, despite my payments (it was 20 short of the minimum payment, with the 20 scheduled to clear their books in 2 days)... THEY NEVER PUT ME ON THE 3.99% PLAN! i GOT CHARGED OVR $1340 DEFERRED interest! Now Im getting sued, and the attorney thinks she's 'uber smart' I got news for her... get ready. DON"T ever just ignore a notice/summons! Know your rights under the Collection and state laws. I just spent hours researching law statutes for the state and federal. Two affidavits of sale to collection agents and not valid. DON"T believe an attorney ever. They get their money banking on you not reacting and that my friends would be a costly mistake... SOOOO lesson... Saving my precious Chloe was priceless and by far a decision I still never regret... but the vets bills were only $4300 and now Im being sued for over $8000. INSANE. Their claim would have been a small claims court claim had they followed the initail agreement (which they can't seem to find and produce)... because it would have been under $5000 (sigh) I love my dog, and the card saved her life at the time... Can't hate them that bad (yet)... but beware of CACH, LLC!

I jI originally got a care credit card when my wife (fiance at the time) needed to get some dental work done. I had the money to pay up front but was advised to go with the payment plan. Against my instincts I signed up for care credit. It seemed like a good deal at ifrst and can even be used for vet bills. My last bilss stated I owed $3000. I opened up the one for this month and I woe almost $3800. We have notused the card. After reading the bill I found out that I am being charded over $800 in interest and charges. Major Rip off. do not get this card. Seeing this I just had to stop and pray. I have to get this stopped immediately. @ $800 per month They are trying to keep me in bondage for the rest of my life. That is just evil. But in life we reap what we sow. God will deal with them.

"Thank GOD I got away from care credit!" After reading every thing on this site I see how lucky I' am. I got credit with them one year ago and never used it. I was fixing to make an appointment with the eye doctor when I got a letter stating that I don't charge enough, and that my account was terminated . It also said this would show on my credit report. I called and spoke to a rude- getto- girl who wasn't willing to help. Her s----- way of talking only added full to my fire.Maybe care credit should concern themselves with the people who charge any thing and don't pay their debts instead of the HARDWORKING AMERICANS that don't charge for just any reasons.GOD BLESS THE WORKINGMAN & F- - - - THE CAPITALIST CREDITORS!

I have been getting frequent phone calls for past 10 months or so from GEMoney Cochin( In Malayalam Language) asking whether I am Mr MuraliMenon. It seems somebody has deliberately given my phone number with the intention to cheat your organisation. All times I have asked the person calling me that I am not Murali Menon and with the request not to call me since I am not MuraliMenon and find out the correct phone No and to locate MuraliMenon.
The phone No [protected] is my name A.SIVADASAN since 2003 and you canverify the correctness from BSNL Cochin / Ernakulam. I have received calls on 1st, 2nd and even today3rd December 2009 ( 2times = in the morning around 9.30 AM and 4.20 PM). When I asked she was telling it is automatic. How can it be so when the person is tlaking to me personaly and answering my querries.

In case any customer has given wrong address and telephone number with the intention to cheat, it is for you to file a police complaint and locate the personfroom the address given by him. Since your employees are disturbing me frequently and not taking any action to delete my telephone number from your recordsm I am compelled to make a complaint with police authorities unless necessary corrective actionis taken by you. I hope you will kindly take necessary action and instruct the employees concerned.

GE Money Bank NO REFUND UNTIL NOW

I sent my complaint letter to GE care and a copy to the dentist for services paid by GE but not rendered by the dental office. The amount is $1700.00 Until now they have not refunded this money to me and the interest keeps on going. GE is suppose to refund that money. They want me to pay them on time but for 3 months that I had been pursuing them, that money has not been returned by GE.
I told the dental office from the very beginning that I dont need any lower dentures because of my eye surgery.
They have not made it and I am not interested in getting one. The eye surgery cost me almost $10, 000. The person that I had been dealing with has been terminated and they keep on passing this issue around. These people are thieves and GE is an instrument to get money from us. So if you happen to apply for GE CARE CREDIT, I suggest that you do not go for this kind of solution. Stay away from GE Care credit.

GE Money Bank preditor lending

I have a Care Credit Card owned by GE Money Bank. I have only used this card for the dentist. I was informed this month that my interest and APR would increase. I called the company, only to deal with a cold hearted rep. I was told that I could opt out if not I would have to pay the high interest rate. I have, above average credit rating. I had to opt out. I really would like to know if members of congress get treated better than the average working American. Most of these credit card companies are going down its just a matter of time. They need us more than we need them. Just like members of congress thinking they can charge more taxes to the American people and businesses. Use your head if the people don't have a job who is going to pay these taxes.

BE AWARE!

I was very very very late on some payments for an HHGregg card I used to have(i know i am the only one to blame for being late). I got a small loan and contacted my creditors to pay off my debt. The 1 and only company that I had trouble with out of 6 companies that I already dealt with was GEMoney bank. I called and requested that they send me a fax with a signature to prove that we settled. Also to prove it will be the last of my payments to them and that my account would be closed after I pay the agreed amount. The response I got was "we don't offer those services". First of all, no offense to foreigners, I couln't understand what they were saying. Second, any legit company will be glad to send documentation on an account. ESPECIALLY if they know they will get paid if they do! The man was extremely rude and acted like he thought I was stupid. All I asked for was proof of the agreed amount so it wouldn't come back and bite me in the "you know what" someday. I wanted to be smart about payin off my debt. I've heard of people verbally agreeing to paid in full but still get calls because the company they paid sold it to another company. I didn't want that to happen to me. They definetly have negetive marks in my book. Now I don't know what to do. I'm not going to pay them and then my money mysteriously not be accounted for. Now my credit is going to have to suffer even more because they "don't offer the services" a.k.a. a fax machine!

Last January 2017, I financed $3, 000 through GE Money Bank with the interest free for six months. I made the required payments every month and approximately 20 days before the zero interest offer was set to expire, we sent them a check for the full amount. After several calls and more than two weeks, we finally had to cancel the check and pay on- line. They were clearly holding our payment until the deadline passed so they could charge me approximately $400 in interest for the entire six months. Very dishonest company!

I also am a person who was taken by GE Money Bank for dental work that was needed first of all there high percentage rate killed me at 26.99% and then there were a couple of late fees that didnt help...The bill started at around 300.00 and ended at over $475.00...If you are considering useing them for help think twice..the have low payments which basically pay the interest and makes it hard for the principal to get taken care of...Please beware and good luck...

I've had a green dot Wal-Mart debit card for over 5yrs. I went to the ATM machine to draw out my hard earned money, only to learn, someone in Illinois, on 4/21 fraudulently used my debit card, six separate transactions, total of $772.60 After calling and speaking with four different representatives, was told I had to fax the information, it could take up to seven to ten business days for review. This is absolutely unacceptable. It took only less than 48hrs to use my debit card, in person. How they managed to hack into my account is beyond me. These transactions all took place in Illinois, never been there, live in St. Louis. I'm a victim of identity theft. Green Dot, GE Money Bank states, it could take up to ten business days to investigate, and then they don't have to give me back my money. Are you kidding me? I want this resolved before ten business days. What a joke? I will refer to my "attorney" I know there is video tape of this transaction, I called the KMart store spoke with the so called manager Kevin, useless. told me to file a police report. I want this person or person's accountable for fraud of over $500. I'm the victim here. GE money Bank is a total joke. I will get my money back one way or another. Bad business, horrible customer service, left me on hold for over 32minutes, five separate calls, couldn't locate my fax I had sent earlier in the day> Bunch of BS

GE Money Bank- they slam you with all kinds of fees. Then they play with your interest rate. When you go to finally "pay off" the thing, more fees appear each month.
Every month I still get a statement, my balance was 0, however I refuse to pay the
fees so essentially my credit has been compromised for their 35.00 membership fee
or whatever it was has grown to 350.00. One of those mistakes one makes in life that haunts you to eternity.

I was offered a 1 year no interest account to purchase an expensive Serger at All Brands. There was no card or opening statement sent. I received the first bill on 7/16/08 and it claimed to be the second billing, but the first I received. I called their office and a gentleman checked his files and agreed to remove the late fee, but says he can do nothing to give me my 1 year no interest loan back. It is now wholly due in September. There is a note saying my payment date has been changed under the notice of the late fee, so I will seek another lender to pay this off with a decent lender who will assure that I get my first bill. Meanwhile, when will somebody clean up these folks! This is the third new account someone in my family opened over the last year where the first statement never came or was claimed paid late (although the other bank says the direct transfer was completed 5 days early). These guys are doing it on purpose to raise interest rates to 22-34%! This needs to be investigated.

Over the weekend I experienced automobile malfunction requiring immediate repair. I have an account with Pep Boys so I phoned them to ensure I had enough credit available to cover the expense. I was informed via automated services that I had more than enough credit available, so I instructed Pepe Boys to perform the repairs. When I arrived at Pep boys to pay for the repairs, the cashier informed me that my card was declined. I requested that they scan it again; it was declined a second time. I phoned the customer service center only to be told that I didn't have enough credit available to cover the repairs. I was livid! I contacted my wife and requested that she obtain my most recent bill and phone GE. Via three- way phone conversation, the representative ensured my wife, the cashier and I that there must be a mistake because I had more than enough credit available to cover the repair work. He gave the cashier another toll free number to call so that it could be straightened out. After repeating the above, the representative stated, " I am so sorry, I know what happened. You have another account with us and gave you the wrong information." He repeated this multiple times. How could this be? I felt humiliated and was made to spend monies that were allocated for other expenses! If I were given accurate information I would have decided to forego the repairs at this time and utilized my second automobile until I was prepared to pay it of pocket off the repair work! The professional thing to do since it was not my fault would have been to approve an increase to cover the costs of the repair. Instead I was given, a simple sorry! That's unacceptable! I will pay the debt owed on my account and close it as soon as possible! I also plan to share my story with others so they don't invest themselves with this poor excuse of a business!

I have made several payments online then when my bank changed my checking acount # I updated it on thir data base using my profile and submitted a payment. That was when my problems started with them. They seem to hire people who speak in tounges or some strange language and can't understand English, and claim they don't have access to a Fax Machine. Now anyone knows that any big or small company must own a Fax Machine so that a plain Lie! I was goig to send them proof of checks they claimed were returned had cleared my bank meanwhile they where accusing me of inputting the wrong information and charging me $29.00 for returned check fees. Mind you, I was only required to pay $15.00/mo. but was trying to pay them $150.00- $200.00-$80.00.
When all this happened I had noproblems with my online payments to Visa, Verizon, Utilities, just them maybe it was their data base that fouled up? They closed my line of Credit and left me with bad mark.
Don't ask to speak to anybody in their Customer Service Division because their useless!

I phoned in to make a payment on my account because I had forgotten about it - it is usually due at the END of the month but for some reason it has been pushed up to the 26th. Because of the busy season, I just forgot about it until today - the due date. I tried to get online but my computer was so slow, and I finally decided to call customer service to ask if I could pay. The customer service Representative TOLD me because it was 4:55 I would miss the deadline to avoid a late fee. I explained to her that I only owed a miniscule amount, and had not been late in the past if she could this one time show mercy. I was going to be assessed a $39.00 late fee for a $15.00 payment. When I asked if I could speak with a supervisor, she connected me with a continuous voice message that never allowed me to speak with a person. I am very disappointed with your customer service representative, and the policy.

they have and are still chaging me late fees on late fees and finance charges on late fees total right now as of 3-9-09 $246.63. I originally took this credit out from Hugh's floor covering in charlotte, NC for $8500.00 equal payments for 24 mos. I paid this off three mos early due to their change in my monthly payments. I made payments to them totaling $8569.00. I have sent 22 letters to them including the CEO and numerous phone calls only to get transfered and hung up on. They have sent this to 2 different credit agencies and numerous calls to my home. I have never not paid a bill as you can see from my credit reports i have excelent credit and now I have this as a negative on my report.

GE Money Bank Overcharged

It was only $82.00 but to all of you out there trying to manage your debt, stay away from this company. To begin with their late fee on anything over $250.00 is $39.99; one penny shy of $40.00!

Be sure you understand that even though they say interest free that does not mean that you don't have to make a payment. I did make payments on their online services site. I owed $1291.92 and divided what I owed into three payments which I made monthly within the 90 day period. Funny thing is, though that the last payment never showed as being made. Because I made the first two without any problem, I failed to make a copy of the last one. Shame on me I guess, but I got a call about a week after it was due telling me that I had not made the payment. and that I then owed the $39.99 late fee and interest on the ENTIRE $1291.92. And I thought I had done everything right. I know I made that payment, and am going to try and get one of our office IT people to see if there is a way to retrieve the screen to prove it. THe whole experience feels like I have been a victim of a scam, like I have been slimed, really.

Just be careful out there, this is not my first experience where a credit card company has lied. When I used to have a mileage plus account with VISA, they would continually tell me that my check would not arrive in time even though I would have mailed it over a week in advance and it only went from CA to NV. Apparently I was not the only person to have had this experience because a class action suit was brought against VISA for this very thing.

DON"T USE CREDIT CARDS UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO.

They Closed my account and sent me a letter saying it was due to credit history and/or delinquencies/trades. I have had no delinquencies with this account and my credit history is better now than when I opened the account. I called today to speak to a manager and a CSR rep told me that they closed over 2 million accounts because of the current credit market, but when I insisted on speaking to a manager to ensure that my credit history would not be negatively impacted by false information by this account, he told me to hold, THEN HE HUNG UP ON ME. Shame on GE Money, Care Credit. I will continue to call/write until I have something in writing from them stating that the account was NOT closed because of any fault of my own. I will not allow them to hurt my credit history when I have been an excellent paying customer. I had not used the card for over a year and then 8 weeks ago I had a Medical EMERGENCY and had to charge $1000. I feel this IS THE REASON they closed my account. They don't have the money to pay these charges and so they are making good customers suffer their consequences. I am disgusted with them. I just referred someone to them last week, and I will be letting her know NOT to do business with GE now.

The same thing happened to me. I opened an account in Sept 08 and paid off the card by Feb 09. I haven't used the card since. Then around June, I got a letter stating that my account is closed due to my credit history. They state that they run periodic credit checks and I no longer qualify for their credit card. The funny thing is, my credit report and score is better now than when I opened the account. I paid off 4 cards, including their's since I opened their account, but my history was still not good enough. I think it's because I paid off my card before they could charge any interest. Now I have a "closed by creditor" on my report and they will not take it off because, according to them, it is accurate. Their call center is a joke. I could not get to a live person. The automated system told me my account was closed and hung up on me. I complained with Better Business Bureau and have gotten no where.
Company like these are the ones that are killing people's credit scores. If a person's credit history isn't good enough 6 months after they opened the account, why approve credit for them in the first place? A person's credit history doesn't change that much in 6 months.
GE Money's business practice is the worst I have ever encountered. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, but sadly I know it will.
Their business practice needs to be investigated.

GE Money Bank Credit Card &Fraud Protection&

I cannot believe these guys! They have called me 3 times in 6 months for "fraud protection". What this means is that each time I use my Ebay/PayPal credit card, they hold or cancel the transaction and then call me to confirm the card isn't stolen. It has happened to me out of the country and in, and always hurts me. This last time (1 hour ago) I made a purchase of hotel reservations online at a great price...and instead of using my bank credit/debit card, I stupidly used their card. The worst part, is that I called to check it was OK to use, and then clicked the "purchase" button while on the phone with them! They then called me 2 hours later and left a message from fraud services. I called them and they asked me all sorts of security questions, even though I had just been on the phone with them! They then said the purchase was canceled and that I had to buy them again...but they were all sold out right after I bought them! I told them and they said sorry they cannot allow the purchase I made, I have to make a new one. They are the worst, customer care non-existent, canceling this card ASAP!

DO NOT GET THE EBAY/PAYPAL MASTERCARD, IT IS GE MONEY BANK, AND THEY ARE THE WWWWOOOOORRRRSSSTTTT!

I became involintarily RETIRED after over 20 years at the same employer, and I was able to keep up payments with Social Security monies until April of 2010, a year and a halve after losaing my job. So I called in about the CREDIT CARD PROTECTION I HAD PAID OUT $80.00 amonth for. And this was my ANSWER, We are sorry but we cannot honor the credit card protection because you needed to report it when you became unemployed on 1/21/09. So guess what I have been paying out atleast $80.00 a month for a year and a halve for NOTHING, CREDIT CARD PROTECTION IS NOTHING BUT """FRAUD""" AND THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION LETS THEM GET BY WITH IT. Account Security is a Scam! I involuntarily became disabled and unemployed, so, luckily I thought, that A.S. would take over the balance that I had. My doctor completed their forms (who also charged me $25 for each one). When I sent them back to A.S, I received letters informing me that something else wasn't correct and that I'm still responsible for the payments. I've been dealing with this problem since Nov., 2008 and they're always trying to find a way to WEASEL their way out of abiding by what they pretend to be ILLIGITAMATE FRAUDSTERS that need to be TOTALLY REVAMPED!

GE Money Bank Falsification in Loan

This company lied to me on setting up a loan for siding on my house. The compnay Percision Siding set up the loan and told me that the loan was a fixed one for 5 yrs at 9.99%. The loan will not go up unless the payment was 30 days pass due. There has never been a late payment pass 30 days. Two at 2-3 days late due to mail system. I have gone through all of the channels and my final results is sorry that I have to deal with the original company. This is BS, GE set up the account and now are lieing about the requirements. My rates have jumped to 29.99% and late fees fluxuate up and down. I am going to make it my business to spread any way I can, to alert people to this BS company--internet, tweetier, facebook whatever way works.
