Family Dollar products and safety

April 30 2019
I shop at your store frequently, I buy all my products there, only cause your store is more convenient for me and my family,
but enough is enough, I dont complain about the prices, your products or a refund,
Im complaining about your safety in the store, But everytime for the last few months I see the same... mess everywhere, the pictures below show alot of safety issues ..I dont know If I can call O.S.H.A and include the B.B.B as well, But all the other stores I have gone too, do not look like this...My question is, is it because of the community your stores is " Predominantly Hispanics and blacks community, that you have no interest in Helping our community?
when I spoke to Monica your floor Supervisor, that was very sarcastic and when my husband apprroched her; she answerd "that if he like to help ..and fill out an application and showed him where it was at to fill out.
there shelves laying around, boxs in the isles ..where you can even walk, etc.
the pictures show everything... even the back stock room is crowded with boxs

Family Dollar family dollar store #6671 customer service

I'm writing to you because I tried to call but was directed to the website. I moved to this neighborhood near the above referenced store for approx. 3 months. I shop at this store at least once a week. Tonight I was in there with my 13 year old daughter and was putting some items on the belt when a cashier, I have never seen before told me I "had to leave"... I thought she was speaking to someone else but she said it again. I said are you talking to me? She then said that yes but wouldn't tell me why just kept saying I had to leave.. I was shocked, embarrassed and confused because I've never had so much as a conversation with anyone in this store before. I asked why and what did I do, then she proceeded to tell me that I "had an incident in there the other day with someone". I said I think you have me confused with someone else, I've never had a problem in this store before and I don't know anyone around here. I just moved here. Her and another employee started raising their voices telling me again"I had to leave". I even asked who is this person who I supposedly had an incident with and they started yelling louder at me in front of my daughter who was terrified and confused also. We pushed the cart aside and walked towards the door, these two African American females, I don't know their names, called me an "f#cking [censored]" and the one said to the other one "I'll slap that f#cking [censored]!" My daughter came out behind me crying because she was scared and said she heard them laughing and cussing about me, calling me foul names! I have been wrongly accused of something I absolutely had nothing to do with, not to mention that my daughter and I were disrespected for no apparent reason and humiliated in front of other customers, cussed at and physically threatened by two of your employees at your store, #6671 1451 Haddon Avenue, Camden, NJ 08103. Today is April 26th, 2019 and this incident with your employees occurred some time between 7 and 8 pm this evening. I am afraid to ever go into one if your stores and so is my daughter. Are these the kind of people you want representing your store?! I have never in my life, been kicked out of a store or treated so awful by cashiers. I'm assuming that were both cashiers, I didn't see a manager tag. I would like an apology and an explanation of why I was treated this way by two women I've never spoken to before. I would really like to know if something can be done about this. I can be reached at the following number and email address.

Family Dollar customer service the cashier

The cashier started to ring up my stuff saying nothing. Gave me total, and set the change in my hand with a little pressure saying NOTHING! I shop here a lot and have never had this type of service! I try and shop local but will not go in there if she will be the cashier!I

All she said to the man in front of me is "wants a bag?" . What kind of friendly service do you want to present your company? Certainly not someone like this. North Branch does have another closer dollar store for me to go to and I just might start shopping there!

I've been trying to apply and get hired at any of your locations in my area for about 5 years now. Recently, the store closest to me had open interviews and I was invited by the manager to come and apply that way. Well, I went to the open interview, was told by the same manager that she will hire me and all I had to do was put my application in. I told her I already did. The next day she goes to pull my application and says that my assessment is in red and that's why they can't hire me. Does a damn computer generated assessment tell you who I am?! No! So I asked the same manager, who's actually trying to help me get this job, for corporate's number to try and find a solution. Needless to say, ive been calling corporate, any number I can find for them, and i'm sitting at least 20-30 minutes on hold with nothing but an automated voice telling me I can press '1' at any time while i'm on hold. Did the [censored]ing ceo of this company start out as a ceo? I don't think so. So why is it so damn hard for the little people like me to get a damn job just so I can afford to pay my bills and not go homeless? What the [censored] is wrong with your damn company?

“Complaint about rude employee and manager at Family Dollar store #11634

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction and frustration with the service I received at your store on Senia Road in Fairburn, GA (store #11634) on August 30, 2023.

On that day, I entered the Family Dollar to purchase some spaghetti sauce. As I approached the counter to pay, a fair-skinned young girl checked me out. My change should have been $5.23. I was given a five-dollar bill and two dimes. I asked the young lady if she was out of pennies because I didn’t receive all my change from my purchase. She replied “YES” with an attitude, then she turned around to the manager and asked if she had any pennies. The manager gave her a roll of pennies, and the young girl began to open the pennies and throw them on the counter at me. She also cursed at me and said some very rude words that I do not want to repeat.

The employee’s behavior was unacceptable and disrespectful. She threw my money at me and cussed at me for no reason. The manager did nothing to stop her or apologize to me. She just stood there and watched as the employee insulted me. I felt humiliated and angry. I left the store without taking my change or my receipt.

I demand an apology from both the employee and the manager, and a disciplinary action against them. They should not be allowed to treat customers like that. I also request a refund or compensation for the inconvenience and frustration I faced. I have been a regular customer of Family Dollar for years, but after this incident, I am considering taking my business elsewhere.

I hope you will take this matter seriously and address it promptly. I expect a response from you within 10 business days. If I do not hear from you by then, I will escalate this issue to higher authorities or take legal action.

With your attitude I doubt you will get hired. Try learning some manners and people skills. Is this how you are going to talk to customers?

Family Dollar customer service

On two or more occasions my 11 year old son has been told that he is not allowed in store number 1935 simple because he is 11. Today when my son opened the door to the store he was immediately told by both a cashier named Mark and the manager named Benita that he could not come into the store without an adult. I am disabled and unable to walk with my son but was on facetime with him. I immediately asked what the issue was and I was told that my son has done nothing wrong but he can not shop because they are not going to be responsible for him. I informed Mark and Benita that as long as nothing is posted and my son is not stealing, being disrespectful or disruptive he has every right to purchase his snacks. Your cashier proceeded to tell me that I am not a responsible parent and if I had any problems I can call the police, which I did. I would hate to think that my son was being discriminated against because he is a young black male but what other conclusion should I come to when two adults (a manager and a cashier) report to the officer that responded to my call that it was their understanding that there is a national law that says people under 18 can not go places without and adult. If this is an unwritten rule of your store, it certainly needs to be reevaluated or at least posted.

You are teaching your son to play the race card. Someone needs to take him from you. It does not matter if your son is black white or any other color. If they do not allow minors in the store they do not allow minors in the store.

They dont even have name tags on so you can get their name.

Family Dollar customers are forbidden to take shopping carts out of the store.

Please resolve this issue as soon as possible! I visited the store located at 6110 W. Commerce, San Antonio today; 4/20/2019 and was told that I could not take the basket out of the store. I purchased several heavy items and was told that I could leave the basket near the entrance, proceed to my car and return for the rest of my paid merchandise. Luckily I went to the store with family and they were able to assist me. Cashier told me that they were tired of having to go look for baskets at 1 in the morning and needed to stop doing that.

This is b.s.. Store closes at 10, why doesn't management get all those employees to periodically retrieve the baskets? Seems that this is a management issue that could lead to a bigger issue. The cashier didn't even double bag my heavy items. Guess staff needs to realize that the customers drive up sales and can make or break a store. What's next? Do they want us to clean up the messy store and place items in their appropriate spots too?

I live in Houston Texas and I'm not aware of many stores that don't allow you to take shopping carts out of the store as someone thought was so common in the earlier comments I will agree most garbage stores like Family Dollar will not allow you to have carts outside of the store many Family Dollar stores in my area don't even have shopping carts but places like Walmart and Kroger and other shopping stores allow you to take shopping carts into the parking lot.

Taking away shopping carts making it harder for customers to shop at your store on top of that low-paid employees who give garbage customer service maybe your stores should fail

I was not accommodated at all terrible customer service and I would like some feedback regarding this matter

Family Dollar complaint letter for bad service

Dear family dallor
I have been a loyal customer of your stores for many years, I have time and again received great service at your place of business. Which is one of the main reasons I shop at your store. But to my surprise, on march 29 2019 at 1200 ish, I was at the receiving end of some very poor service at your mart. On the said date, I tried to make a purchase of my ebay gifts cards of 1, 200.00, and headed towards the cash counterto pay for them. The person sitting at the counter, who was wearing the name tag of gin who is a assist general manager, when I had told him I needed all of gift cards to 200.00 on them each, he said she would do it, and he started to ring them up as I couted my money out, as he swiped the cards it was not ringing out an told me he cant sell them to me do to the fact of money laundering. I was embarrassed that he had said that to me so I walked out an card family dallor co. An they clearly said their is no limit to how much gift cards I can get so I had walked back in an grab the cards I needed. Instead, of trying to help me he called his general manger was yelling an beyond acting crazy... So he talked to me very rudely, and told that he cant sell them to me because I was money laundering and I felt so embarrassed and ashamed that he would think I was that kind of person an he said it loudly to me. As all the customer behide me an checking out were looking at me. I was so upset I said I jus want my cards so I can go about my day. Then he sai shut the [censored] up and get the [censored] out of my store. I was like did u jus say that to me. Mine you im a female an male to say that to my face truely hurt me deeply, appalled at such behaviour, he continued to say im calling the cops on you. I told him to so I can report what he had said to me. When I left I called my husband crying telling him what had happend. He just told me to walk him an will take our business elsa where. So I did so with no problem I got my cards. And on I april 4, 2019 I went back in an seen him again I asked if he is going to sell me the cards. He said no it dont work. I said is their a manager here an another asst manager I told her what had happend an he was standing on the side yelling an stuff an said yea I said that and what you going to do about it. An she told him to walk away an she helped me. Get my ebays cards and asked to leave my number for the main manager so she will call me so I did. An I waited for over 2 weeks for her to call me. An nothing so I went in the store to buy some gule on april 18, 2019 an the manager teresa was in a I had asked if she had got my number an why I havent heard from her she said she never got my number an she does not believe that her employer gin would never say that an that it had happends a while back that she will try to lookin to it. All she did was speak highly about her employer and stated that (she can't believe that gin would ever speak that way.. Because he never curses an would act like in front of her) she made me feel like I was lying and that my feeling were in no considering because it felt like she take her employer side by saying her both asst managers would have given her my number an that the one that help me to buy my ebay's cards would have told her what happend. I truely felt like they pushed what happend to the side and felt like teresa didnt care what had happend an I felt single out of a nothing of a person. I had a recording of what had happened but do to the fact of the manager not contacting me it was deleted. I hope you would look into the matter, and make sure such an incident is not repeated.
Because I live right around the corner. Your company has been known to provide good services, and such events tarnish the family dallor,

Family Dollar I was treated unfairly, stereotyping, racism, profiling a paying customer!

On april 13, 2019 at 11:30 am I decide to stop into family dollar located on 2017 jackson street, oshkosh, wisconsin. I typically do not stop into. Since it was close by I decided to stop for time sake. I entered the store in my black north face jacket, jeans and my traveling small purse backpack, since I had just came back from south carolina the night before. I went towards the house-wear section and detergent area bc obviously I needed detergent and I saw some cute decor stuff. After I checked the detergent and was looking around house wears, I checked my phone and texted my mom back. Right after that moment a larger white female employee, around her mid 30's, came up to me with an angry look on her face asking me, very unfriendly, if I needed help. I was a little confused because i've literally been in the store for only 5 minutes, haven't even had a chance to get the things I needed. (just wanted to add that within those 5 minutes of being there, no one was around me, as this store is not a store that typically has a lot of ppl in there). I answered the female employee politely, "no, thank. I'm just looking" and even smiled. As I was walking towards the middle end isle literally within a minute later the same large white female employee now tells me that she needs to look in my bag. Shocked and confused I told to her to go ahead, that I don't have anything to hide.

I would however like to ask to that female employee and to the family dollar corporation, after you/your employee searched my bag not once but twice, took out my michael kors wallet, quay sunglasses, $160, my small pandora gift bag, searched every pocket and receipt and even searched my jacket, convinced I was a thief and treated me like I was a criminal. After the stereotyping, racism, profiling, judging, assuming, accusing... After all of that, when she couldn't find what "she thought" I stole...
I didn't even get a simple apology, sorry for searching your bag, sorry for stereotyping and profiling you, sorry for treating you like a criminal! She gave me her sad excuse that someone had heard packages being open so she had to check "only my bag" (mind you, I was in there only for 5 minutes with no one around me) and she had no proof of me taking anything! I was a criminal already just by walking into the store. So I want to know, why did she not check the other peoples bag also and only just this asian girls bag?! Was it because I wasn't white?
"family dollar corporation" is this how you train your employees? To stereotype and profile people, show racism, assume they are criminals and not even see the wrong they did? I'm not sorry to say... You have lost a paying customer.

Family Dollar manager

The manager Shaline is getting the people next to the store to help unload the delivery truck and paying them with merchandise. She let's them get what they want. They told me that what falls off the truck they can have. They said they got $85 in detergents. Also the girl that works there came to work so messes up on meth she had to go home. Her mane is Toyna. The manager knew she did meth and hired her anyway. The manager said she was going to give her a chance. I won't let my grand kids go into that store because of them smoking weed. If y'all can't get someone to run that store right then you should close it down.

Family Dollar employee at this family dollar

An employee (Heidi) at this store refused me service, would not allow me in the store, even after the cops said I was allowed to be. Her boss, the manger and her are friends and have done this before with people. She embarrassed me in front of other customers and I had a child with me. I live in this village and use this store- I want something done about this.

Family Dollar careers job applicant

On February 1, I filled out an application online on around the 10 the I was told to come in to get papers for the drug test I did that on the 11 th. I went to take the drug test on the twelfth. I took the papers back the next day. When I took the papers back I was told that Ray would contact me after the background to call Ray. Well I called that store 11597 Fredrick Rd everyday for a month. No Ray he was always busy. Then I go up there and Ray says he isn't the closer the one that gave me the papers and all the information was the one to close it out. Well when I see her she says my background passed but it's saying override. I then was told to come today Tuesday April the 9th and the asst manager isn't there after leaving me on hold and checking her schedule gives me a day she is off. What's going on. Am I being played with and why I did everything iwas supposed to do and I still have my email saying I was offered a job contingent on my passing the drug and background. This isn't right . Who do I speak to now . Is this discrimination.

This particular store is an affront to the core values of what any retail shopping experience should be. The employees there are extremely rude and unprofessional and filled with a social mindset and work environment that aggrandizes an extremely "ghetto" type culture in the work environment. as I have frequented there largely due to the store's proximity to me, it is often and more times than not to hear the management and workers cajoling about the latest customer they either had a physical or verbal altercation with among each other and this banter appears the standard fare of the loud, raucous conversations that they workers seem to lividly engage in, in clear earshot of any would-be customers. This location needs closer supervision from corporate as it appears to be a costly lawsuit unfolding based upon my observations and sometimes unpleasant remarks, affronts and nasty, sullen remarks made by workers there. They seem to be clueless and confederate when it comes to any show of a common modicum of self-respect and respect for the general public. Is this the model of how Family Dollar operates its' stores? If so, we the general public need find a more civil, sensible and deserving place to spend our hard-earned dollars. As it stands now, Family Dollar is not that place.

Family Dollar manager attitude

I went to this location in epsom and the manager krystal has such a nasty attitude that she should not be working with the public. The sale sign for the charmin tissue was not in the proper place therefore I picked up the wrong size. When I told her about the sign she didn't take ownership for having it in the wrong place she blamed it on kids that came in the store and how she didn't like any children. She told me if I had read the sign I would have known it was the wrong size. She didn't know if I knew how to read or not. This woman need to be demoted. I will not spend my money in this store ever again!

Family Dollar manager

I went to the union store on 4/6/2019 and bout 3 coke products. It came to $10.70 and I gave her $20.70. When I got to the truck I noticed that I didn't have a 10 for change
I checked my bags and myself before going back in to tell her she didn't give my change. I told her that I would stand there and wait til she watched the camera. After about 15 minutes of waiting she came out and said it appears she gave my money but didn't have enough time to watch the camera. She gave me the $10 anyway. I contacted another manager at a different store and she called and reported it to the FM. Nikki pintowski failed to give me my change bk from a transaction and once her DM was notified she sent my sister a text about calling her parole officer on her

Family Dollar disrespectful, rude and demeaning cashier

On 4/05/2019 at approximately 5:45pm, my husband Richard Vallejo went into the Family dollar store to purchase dog food. As he placed the bag on the counter, the cashier Blanca rang the item up and gave him the total. Richard gave her a $10 bill and was reaching through his pockets to get a $5 bill. As he was doing so, she told him "You need to pick up your pants, hurry up and pay and get out the store." He was completely caught off guard and immediately felt disrespected so he through the $5 on the counter and stormed out the store with no receipt. He informed me of what happened and I opted to return the item and get a refund as I knew that our hard earned money would not be spent at this location. I went back in approached Blanca and asked her for a refund, in which she rudely stated "No, you do not have a receipt. Leave the store immediately." I stayed as I wanted my money back and then opted to call the police instead as she was demeaning and disrespectful. The law enforcement officer arrived and I (Blanca Vallejo) was given a Criminal Trespassing warning and was required to sign a document stating I would never revisit that location again. This by far has been the most absurd interaction that I have ever had in my life, my husband and I have never felt this disrespected in any establishment in my 50+ years on this Earth. We work hard for our money and refuse to ever spend a dollar moving forward at any Family Dollar establishment. I will be reporting this incident via social media as I would never want anyone else to be mistreated as we have been on today. I pray that this interaction is rectified immediately as we are in shock and awe at such behavior and I now have this criminal trespassing on my record. I am a law abiding citizen and have been all my life - I ask that you have this removed immediately and reprimand / terminate the employee. There is a clear pattern of misbehavior as I see on google reviews.
