My son was flying home from Anchorage Alaska into Rochester Airport NY and wanted to rent a car so he could drive the 1 3/4 home and have a car for a couple of days. Before leaving my wife contacted enterprise Hornell NY and Rochester Airport enterprise and was told the same things and NOTHING more with regards to what he needed to rent. Both locations stated the following:
1. Valid drivers licence
2. Debit or credit card
As he had both - the person went ahead and reserved him a vehicle. When he arrivedf In Rochester at 11:00am yesterday morning and went to get the car they told him the following:
He needed a NYS licence and his valid Alaskan one wasn't acceptable, and
He needed a Credit Card that his debit card was also not acceptable.
In less than 24 hours, enterprised decided to change their minds about what he might need and intentionally omitted details that my son really did need. It also became apparent that requirements are different from one locality to the next - so I wouldn't trust anything any of their locations told me.
