This store is advertised as a Fedex drop off location. I've dropped off a number of boxes there over the last year, 2 of them just last week. This morning I received a message from one of the package recipients stating their box was still sitting in North Berwick. I called Fedex, they said to check with the store as they show drop off 7 days ago but nothing further. I drove to the store and while standing in line to talk to the person at the counter I saw my two boxes sitting on the floor in the office behind the desk with junk piled on top of them. I asked the clerk about the packages and she first said she didn't know anything about them, I told her I could see them on the floor right behind the counter. She then said "oh, they have an "H" on the label for 'hold', that's why they're here". I told her "H" was for Home Delivery, not 'hold'. She asked if I wanted them back and I said no, I wanted them to go where they were supposed to go when I brought them by a week ago. She then said they should not have been accepted due to the size... however, they WERE accepted and then stuck in the office doorway where they apparently had no intention of doing anything with them. She then told me they are not a Fedex office (which everyone obviously knows) and they offer the service as a convenience to customers. Not much of a convenience having your packages sitting under a pile in the office for a week. She said she would put them out front and they would be picked up tomorrow, I said I wanted them back since they obviously didn't know what to do with them. She told me "I'm the manager here and you need to leave and don't ever come back... I'm reporting you to 'corporate'". Laughable! Now that she admitted she's the manager the whole situation is even more pathetic since she made several excuses for what happened, none of which were valid. Just say "sorry about that, we'll get these out tomorrow", stop with the BS excuses and arguing.
Since she said she's going to "report" me to corporate (for her own incompetence!), I asked what her name was and she ignored me and refused to tell me so I took a photo of her and asked 3 more times, eventually she said it was Theresa. If that name is correct, Theresa has no business being a manager of anything, she is incompetent and knows nothing about being a manager in the customer service industry -- you don't make excuses, you help the customer (especially if YOU are the one who screwed up as the "manager") and resolve the issue. You do NOT argue with the customer and make lame excuses when YOU caused the problem.
I know it's hard to find help these days, but "Theresa" is a great example of what you get stuck with when you pay so little. She needs at least beginner level manager training.
Recommendation: Manager doesn't know what she's doing, probably ok to shop there, but do NOT drop off Fedex packages there.
