Our Dollar General store in Galveston is a disaster. The store is dirty and the staff are almost confrontational when you go to the register to check out. The staff stand around in the managers office while merchandise is sitting on the floor. You can't get down aisles because there isn't any room to maneuver your cart around the things on the floor. sales prices are listed but things ring up differently than what is posted. One staff person had her car repo'd while she was at work and was cussing and using foul language in front of customers on the sales floor. Nothing was done by the manager. I have since stopped going to the Dollar General and trying to shop. The shelves are empty, entire shelves. There is no sense in this happening in any store. Get rid of the entire staff and start new. Or an easier remedy is to just close the store. As town people we are sick of going there and never finding what we need and we still have to go to Kokomo to a grocery store to pick up what we need. I thought the premise of having a Dollar General in the small towns was for convenience. All I ever get when I go down there is frustrated!
Stock is always in the isle needing to be put on the shelfs.
Dollar General store located in Ramhurst Ga
Stock is left on the large buggies blocking the isles, shelfs are empty of items. Some of the workers stand around on their phone or talk/gossip with customers at length unrelated to work. Forget trying to use a buggy for your items since you are unable to get down the isle to the things you need. This is a ongoing problem with this store. I have been going else where to do my shopping, avoiding this store altogether, even though it is closest to my home.
Desired outcome: Hire more people to stock shelfs, or terminate those for poor job performance.

Poor Customer Service
I'm so disappointed in the customer service I received at my local Dollar General. There are not many shopping options I'm my town, but I know I will never step foot in another Dollar General again. Not only are you unable to use printed coupons (that a retailer has emailed to you even), the $5 off $25 coupon is crap when it has to be after any other coupons have been applied. The cashier and manager were so rude to me when I was trying to ask questions and explain. None of my other coupons were coming off and the manager wouldn't allow most of them as they were the exact match of what was pictured but still qualified based on the description and was not in the excluded category. When calling customer service line, she couldn't even find where it stated printed coupons are not accepted. When asking about the 5 off $25 she just said to find more items. Seriously?! I can go to Target where I can use my Target Circle, printed coupons plus still get 5% off my purchase using my Target card. Why would I mess with poor customer service and a company that doesn't want to work with their customers? No thanks.
Desired outcome: Policy change.
The coupons were fake. Often fraudulent coupons will have pictures of items that do not match the description. You kind of should have known they were fake based on that alone. They do allow coupons to be stackable with the $5 off $25 coupon as long as the other coupons are manufacturer's coupons but will not allow it to be stackable with store coupons. Printed coupons are not allowed unless printed by an authorized provider most printed coupons were not authorized to be printed by the manufacturer.
Dangerous Driver
Speeding Dollar General Truck (trailer 38429) through the town of Leesville, Louisiana today (4/15/21) at about 2:45 pm... Additionally, laid on the horn and flipped another driver off, without justification, when the person in front of them simply had to slow down to make a left-hand turn on Nolan Trace at a busy intersection of 5th Street (northbound) and Nolan Trace.-Fire Fighter / Paramedic
Desired outcome: Retraining and monitoring. Dismiss if a previous similar complaint or if it occurs again within a year.

Well store policy and company policy are 2 different things. Company policies are rules and regulations imposed by the company on all stores, store policies are rules and regulations imposed by the store manager on their own specific store. Usually when it comes to food it can only be returned for poor quality not because you don't like it.
Store in Shallowater closes early
The story Shallowater Texas, always closes early employees say that they can close early if they don't have any traffic but I don't understand why.
