Dollar General Business Size Envelopes

I had purchased business sized envelopes from Dollar General for years.

My last purchase of business sized envelopes yielded envelopes with undersized envelope sealing flaps, envelope sealing flaps that did not seal when moistened, envelopes cut at the top edge opposite to the flap so as to make letter insertion difficult.

I went to Dollar Tree and purchased Mead envelopes for $1.25 for 40 envelopes and found them perfectly useable. No more Dollar General envelopes for me.

Desired outcome: Cease buying the most crappy products available.

Dollar General False pricing

The prices on the shelves are not the price that ring up at the register. They are higher at the register. Usually a dollar or two more than the shelf stickers. This has been going on for months at most of the Dollar Generals I've shopped. Even stores like Kroger are cheaper than Dollar Generals. I will be making less visits until this deceptive practice has ended.

Desired outcome: That this illegal practice is investigated.

Dollar General Disrespectable employees to the manager.

When being in line to checkout the lady I suppose is a manager because since she been working there the store has done a 360 , but she asked an employee to cover her to use the restroom the the employee was rude and told her hell no, finally the one at register yelled for help noone was around or acted like she wasn't heard, so she locked the door to be able to take a break the other lady would unlock it register lady told her not to do it again her response was she would smack her in her [censored]ing face, so the register one tried calling someone noone would even try to help and when she finally reached someone they blamed it on her it's wrong and that girl held herself together and was still respectable and I don't see how

Dollar General Store#6559- Store Manager Not addressing check that was voided But cleared bank account

The store manager failed to reach out about a check that was "voided" due to not allowed to pay for a gift card by check. The gift card was NOT kept by customer it was given back along with "voided" check and a received a "receipt" stated "VOIDED TRANSACTION SYSTEM ERROR. As the customer, I am requesting my money back, but the manager seems to refuse to reach out to address this situation. And apparently none of the night-assistant managers cannot do anything about it.

Dollar General Clover valley milk

The milk tastes discounting the past few times I’ve bought it it tastes like amoxicillin or some kind of pill taste. It’s disgusting and did not used to tasted like this. Really makes me wonder what they are putting in it or what they are giving the cows to mass produce the milk because whatever it is is making it’s way into the Milk and should be disclosed on the jug.

Dollar General Not accepting Military ID

Had a purchase of around $80. Ordered a couple packs of cigarettes and when the cashier asked for ID I produced a miliary retiree ID. She looked at it, then said she was required to see a drivers license. Indiana law only requires an ID to purchase cigarettes when there is some doubt to age, then it only requires a state/government issued ID with photo and date of birth. I don't know if this is a company policy, or just the cashier's, but I find it very disrespectful of the years of service myself, and fellow veterans, spent in service to our country. Needless to say that if your company doesn't want the business of military veterans, then we no longer need to do business with you. I will no longer shop at Dollar General and will pass this on to fellow veterans to urge them to also stop their business with DF.

Desired outcome: Better training of cashiers, and a general apology to veterans

Dollar General Prices & management

I live in Picayune Ms., I shop at 4 of your stores because they are close & I stop at the one I'm going by at the time. I shop the hwy 11 n. picayune, hwy 11 n carriere, hwy 11 n. mcneil & the hwy 43n piccayune store & every time I shop at any of the 4 stores, I can't buy 10 items & not be overcharged every time, it's rediculous, today put the icing on the cake when you buy pre-printed priced items & they overcharge you with the price on itI bought 16 items & 5 were wrong. Who ever the supervisor is for this area "needs to be fired" not talked to or written up, FIRED. The repsonsibility lies on him or her, along with store managers to lazy to do their job. Everyone in the retail business knows that you dont implement price changes till the "NEW TAGS ARE HUNG", it will kill business to change prices in computer & not on shelves, that is STUPID! somebody needs to be held accountable. I have never seen 4 stores that look as bad as these, RaceTrack quick stop gas stations look better. No bread on shelves, store hasn't been zoned & straightened in forever, they are a total wreck & no tags on displays or endcaps, guess you just firgure it out for yourself what the price is. POOR PRICING & MANAGEMENT

Desired outcome: FIX IT, GET A PRICE COORDINATER FOR STORES OR GET TAGS UP WITH RIGHT PRICES & KEEP UP WITH PRICE CHANGES. STRAIGHTEN STORE SHELVES, MERCHANDISE IS JUST CRAMMED IN AN EMPTY SPACE LIKE THEY CANT READ !

Dollar General digital discount not easy for the elderly

When recently at a store I notice that an elderly person was not treated fairly. She was not helped with this new option. I know this is the new electronically method to get extra discount. Elderly are not able to access computer entry. Kroger helps the elderly by entering the digital discount...they keep the customer. This customer for dollar general ended up walking out without the merchandise. Your loss and so easy to help you missed out on sales.

She said she would not be back. Consider helping the elderly.

Dollar General Total by Verizon

I bought this phone on Nov 30 at the dollar store #01050 in Knoxville Tennessee It doesn't work I've tried several times to get it to working I called customer service to see if they could fix it but they couldn't. They told me to return it to the store I bought it from I tried that and they wouldn't take it back. I'm out of money for the phone and the minutes I bought too. I even tried to exchange it for another one

Dollar General Customer service

The employees at the Forestburg Dollar General, Store #22930,16621 FM 455, Forestburg, TX were rude to me as a customer today, December 7, 2022 at approximately 11:57 a.m. This store is only a little over two years old, and I have seen a steady decline in customer service. When the store first opened, there was always someone to greet customers at the front counter and were very helpful in locating items. Now, a majority of the time, a person can walk into the store, get the items they need, go to the self check out and never see a person at all. There is never anyone at the checkout. Today, when I was in the above-mentioned store, I had two rude incidents by employees. The first time, I tried to ignore it. The employees were stocking, I think maybe only 2 employees in the store. I needed some lunch meat from the refrigerated section of the store. There were boxes piled in front of the door. I asked politely if I could get into the refrigerated unit. The employee never said a word, she took her foot and kicked the boxes out of the way. I ignored the behavior. I spent approximately another 45 minutes in the store gathering up the items I needed. Then I proceeded to the check out at the front of the store. I passed right by another employee that was stocking cold drinks. I did not go to the self-checkout because I had a basket full ($85.37) worth of items. I waited a minute or so, waiting for someone to come and check me out. I backtracked to the employee, who I later found is named "Katie." I told her that I was ready to check out, she rudely told me (it was her body language and behavior that I found offensive) that she would be with me in a moment. Never smiled or offered an apology as to the wait. I go back to the check out and I wait. She finally came to check me out, probably not that long, but again, she never acknowledged my wait or apologized. Her body language and facial expression told me that she "did not have time for me." I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude, and she started to argue with me. I told her "that the customer was always right." That I had been in retail, and I had owned a store and had had training in customer service. I will admit, I said some rude things myself at this point, and I should never have lost my temper. She told me that if I didn't want the items, I could leave them. This was after I had paid $85.37 on my debit card. As she was sacking my items, she was putting items into sacks that should have not been placed together. I bought two greeting cards. They were put in a sack with cleaning supplies, and they were bent when I got home. I asked her who the manager was of the Forestburg store. She said she was. I asked the employee her name and all she would tell me was "Katie." I asked who her immediate supervisor was, and she pointed to a sign that is taped to the counter. The sign says among other things that 100% satisfaction. The sign said to call a "Tabitha — " District Manager at — . I have tried a couple of times to call Ms. Tabitha — . I called at 12:18 when I got home, again at 1:17. Both times my phone call was sent to a voice mail box that is full and cannot accept messages. I find this disturbing as well. I want to shop locally, and I want this store to be successful, but if this type of behavior and attitude continues, I cannot shop there. And I will be glad to share my experience with others. (I did as instructed and did not include full names and/or phone numbers.)

Dollar General An employee

I am not sure what her name is as she wasn’t wearing a name tag but I was in the store today and coupons wouldn’t work. I ran a DG for 10 years in Cedar Rapids so I might know a trick or to and I give the store leader there advice from time to time so I have a good repore with the store but the associate was rude when I tried to give her advice, she refused to take it even after the store leader advised her to then I said sometimes u have to reboot a few times (I have spent hours in the past on the phone with erc) she wanted me to go through the app and add up my coupon total instead of me willing to be patient to try it again or maybe even ring me up on another register. I have won awards from Loring my shrink when I was a StoreLeader so I know we’re just taking prices off of things does to the overhead dollar that the company makes. So with that instilled in me, I did not feel comfortable having her just adjust his prices when just a little effort, me and the company could both be happy she was rude despiteful, so when she refused to try it again or ring me up on another register I just said I would go to the next town over and get my things for the simple fact that she was unpolite and unprofessional, not to mention the body odor smell that was coming from her already. I love the fact that she didn’t trust me at first and one of the OK from the store leader that’s amazing. I applaud her but continuing to be rude after that and then to disrespect her store leader, and the way she did was not ok. She has multicolor hair, but I don’t know her name. but I know I guess should never leave upset and I was definitely upset today. And when the StoreLeader, their works for butt off for the staff to be rude to guest is not ok. I had just applied for the assistant position there, while I am in between jobs to help her out but I am now reconsidering that after the hiring packet has been sent to me simply because she doesn’t know how to treat guess when I said I’m gonna go somewhere else because you were rude she’s like well, so are you and I said no I was trying to be helpful. You got an attitude but I hope you have a better day.

Desired outcome: For the employee to understand what causes shrink how to treat customer with respect and problem solve

Dollar General Local stores in my area of Athens Alabama

I have had the opportunity through the years of seeing some of the best dollar general store enviroments, but of late it is disgusting how our community stores have become dumping grounds for a mish mash of scrambled products, empty shelves, and a lack of customer service from some of it's employees.

This is not to complain about any one specific store but many of them.

I have some very dedicated service workers in my local dollar general store and all they ask for is workers who are willing to do their jobs and be of help to the community.

What happened to the pride given to keeping our stores stocked and in order for the ease and convenience of the consumer?

I would think this does not show well on your company as an advertisement for future franchise and business.

I know that I walk in my stores and am not able to find what I am looking for and turn around an walk right out.

Stores closing their doors When delivery trucks come in is inconvenient to local customers. I never seen this happening in my community before recently.

The Dollar General Store is such a great asset to our communities and I hate to see them fall to such a low level.

Desired outcome: Please do what is necessary to bring the Dollar General Stores back to their orderly and functional fashion.

Dollar General Incorrect prices

On 12-4-22 I went and purchased 6 items, I thought the bill was a little high but since we can't see anymore the items being scanned and the price you check when you get home. I look at the shelf price when I put it in the cart. Toilet paper was 2.50, receipt said 3.00. Snack bags, colored I think were supposed to be 1.50 but got charged 1.65, box of kleenex was 1.85 but got charged 1.95. So total I was overcharged.75. I went back to the store with my slip and double checked the shelf prices again before confronting the manager. I was right. I went to the cashier and asked for the manager and told him what was wrong and he left to go get him? No, the cashier comes back and opens the register and gives me 1.00 bill and some change, I said I thought it only came to about.75 cents which he responded thats ok, sorry about that, so I took it and left. Never did see the manager. This is one of 3 DG stores in my town, it is the busiest one of the 3 also, and the dirtiest and messiest. This one is so close to me and it would be nice to walk into a clean, tidy, and correct store.

Desired outcome: I would like to be able again to see my products scanned with price, hate having to go back for corrections.

Dollar General Service

At 7:30 I was at store 14541 on Mississippi avenue in Cahokia and the girl at the register was on her phone cursing and I could hear her whole conversation while she was a FaceTime call she was talking about how irritated she was how’d she’d rather go to her other job that the people at the store “pisses” her off very irate and unprofessional.

Desired outcome: Something at all tht would reduce me having to hear fowl language or a deal with nasty attitude because they have life problems we all do

Dollar General Dollar General Store 21 Nocona Texas, fraud on my debit card

Purchase shows on my bank statement on 10-19-22 for $77.06 at Dollar General store 21 Nocona Texas. I have never spent that much there as I am retired and on fixed income and only buy incidentals there. I am getting the run around on this. Cant get a person to help and cant find any help on line. This Just Ask crap is no help and wants me to pay $50 a month! Now its the principle as much as anything. I will not let this go and I have all the time in the world

Dollar General Employee irresponsibility

I have been in the colon michigan store on multiple occasions where there are children running behind the counter and in what appears to be the office. I am afraid that these are the children of the workers and are being forces to be at work with there parent. I feel this is very inappropriate and I don't think that this is something that the dollar general management would tolerate.

Desired outcome: Just hoping that these children wouldn't be allowed/forced to be at work, this seems to also be a liability issue.

Dollar General I purchased a $500 apple gift card

Hello i went to the dollar general on Route 201 in Rostraver Friday November 25th around 3 pm and i purchased The $500 gift card and as i was making the purchase a young employee went behind the counter just as it was going thru and said to the other employee that was waiting on me i could use that and the next thing i knew no receipt came out and sumone snatched the card off the counter so fast my head was spinning. So im pretty sure they stole the card from me and gave it to her because i also went to my bank with the police and they told him the purchase did not go through because the receipt did not print out, but the woman at Dollar general there had him convinced that the purchase did not go through when it did and then after that we went to the bank and they told him it did go thru. And then the bank also told him and me that if it did not go thru like they sed it didnt my $500 wud b back in my checking account first thing Monday morning but here it is Thursday afternoon and it still is not in my account and i wud b very happy if these people were fired for their thievery as i was making that purchase for Xmas presents for my grandchildren and i want my money back pronto!

Dollar General Order pickup

The Dollar General in Flint Texas has cancelled my last two orders. When I called for an explanation the man I talked to didn't know. I then asked him if the had some other items I remembered from the order and he said yes. I'm handicapped and its very difficult for me to go shopping throughout the store. In the past I never had any problems like this. I'm really disappointed that I can't shop here anymore. Please explain what I should do. Thanks

Dollar General Please help me get this fix

I paid for a phone card and it will not work because it don't have a pin I have being on this send #11-23-22 and the store can't get it fix I paid #$302.56 because I got two card. The cards I got was one year plan for $99.99 two time and the other one was for $39.99 and this one is two time and I call and dean said he is still working on it wiyh know answering so will you please help I can't be out of $302.56. Dollar General Wrongfully terminated / no empathy

I was termed and not given a reason why. I tried to dispute it considering I did give almost a decade of my life to them and I was told they could not give me a reason why. The amount of disregard to the employees is beyond and very disheartening. I put a lot of heart into what I did there and spent years telling people the job really was not that hard if they just all worked together and did not take everything so serious. We did great with that mind set. I had compliments from my DM and RM about my stores and customers every single day. I went through a lot of ups and downs with the company. To be shut out and pushed out the way I was for sure hurt, but to make sure I suffer in the mean time trying to build my life back together after and not even let me get on my feet is just shows what everyone has been trying to tell me all along. Dollar General will not give a thought or concern about what what happens to the employees when they are gone or at all for that matter.

Desired outcome: I do not want to be denied my pay while trying to find another job and I wanted to have an actual chance to talk to someone who cares. I know my DM did not care or think twice when I left.
