This situation happened at the Dollar General on South Main Street in Barre on March 29th. My son Andrew walked to the Dollar General to wait for the city bus. As he approached the bus stop in front of the store and tripped. Well the manager called the Barre Police Department and told them he was intoxicated. When in fact it was proven by the police that my son wasn't intoxicated. If the manager was paying attention to his or her job instead of outside the job, none of this would have happened. This is not the first time this manager has called the cops on my son. If this is not dealt with and it happens again I will be forced to file a lawsuit against your company
truck driver
I am complaint about a Dollar General truck driver that almost ran me and my daughter off the highway today. He did not signal until he was already moving into our lane, we had to slam on the brakes scared my grandson myself and daughter to death. This is not the first time while traveling that this has happened with your company drivers! This occurred 3/29/2018
exchange with digital receipt
I bought a DVD at the new DG in South Boston, VA. When I opened it, it already had a scratch on it. So I took it back to exchange for the exact same thing. I didn't have a paper receipt, but I did have a digital receipt because I had used my digital coupons on that transaction. They ended up not having anymore of that same DVD so I wanted to exchange for a DVD that was $15 more and just pay the difference. The cashier checked with her manager and said that they didn't do exchanges with digital receipts. I thanked her and bought the other DVD anyways. I did some research and read on the DG web site that digital receipts are accepted for returns and exchanges on most items. So I went back to check again. Still, nothing. All I want is something in the place of this damaged DVD that was sold to me. Preferably the exact same movie because my kids were beyond disappointed when they couldn't watch it.
This is in South Boston, VA. not Massachusetts.

Store is disorganized, unstocked.Manager appears to be on some form of drugs.People seen coming and going after closing, Usually around midnite.I have stopped going in there because hard to get around stuff in isles, since I'm disabled.And most times, what I go in for isn't on shelf, just empty space.The card chip reader works sometimes, more often not.I will drive 18 miles one way to a different store as will my friends and family.In this small town, that's a lot of lost business for this store.
product not on shelf
3751 South Pine Ave store. Stephen is the manager. He showed me his phone 3 days ago that goldfish and tropical fish food was ordered. I walked to the store today and he apologized for the product not yet on the shelf, still "on the truck". He and an assistant manager were working on shelves. I am 65 years old and depend on that store. Poor customer service.
complaining about an employee
My husband went to the local dollar General im Atlanta ga acworth off new hope to just grab dog food at aroun 9:55pm 5 mins before closing time...The employee Marjorie was very rude while letting people out the store cause it was locked and yelled at my husband saying UMM WE ARE CLOSED..rolled her eyes at him..he said well you dont have to be rude about it and like a child locks the doors AGAIN and making hand jesters at him while making faces at him like a child! This was all at 9:55 5 mins before closing...this isnt the first time with him me or anyone else..ive heard her be rude to customers and she talks to much while checking people out and it takes forever...
manufacturing and digital coupons
I recently went to Dollar General in Goshen Va. I found the products I wanted. Then went to the checkout. I input my mobile number to take off the coupons I had. Then handed the cashier my manufacturing coupons. I had 1 box of lipton tea, and a coupon for Suave professional shampoo. The cashier took my coupons. I had 2 for the suave shampoo and conditioner and one for the tea. It took one of the coupons and not the other. Or the one for the tea. The cashier scanned them, and it didn't go through, the same with the tea. So the cashier, went in highlighted the item and scanned them again and would not accept. The cashier did not offer a solution. She just handed them back and said the register wouldn't take them. There is no reason they should not have been accepted because there were digital ones and manufacturing ones. I made sure that it was the correct product on the coupons before I took them in. This isn't the first time this has happened. Its not with all the cashiers just certain ones.

Hello seeing that I live right down the street from this dollar general.. I have two sick children and didn't want to make a trip to walmart. I always go to the dollar general.. Well straight to the point I grabbed what I needed and decided to use my otc card given to me by my insurance company. Jose a new cashier whom the store manager was training rang up my items and I scanned my card and asked my balance, jose asked the store manager what does he do next.. The store manager asked to see my card and laughed and said we don't accept that it has to have a visa or master card logo and she continued to laugh. I felt so angry and embarassed. I told her you do accept it you just don't know how to use it.. If there were not customers behind me and my sick children with me then I would have told her a piece of my mind.. But instead of acting ignorant like her I called corporate and made a report with a ticket number.. I will not be going back to the dollar general, walmart will have my money from now on.. The incident happened march 27 2018 around 4 to 5..
total.com phone
My children purchased a phone for their father for Christmas ar Dollar General. Even though the phone was purchased in the area it can not be activated & used in the area.
As you can see By the attached pictures I contacted Total.com as well as Dollar General who refused to refund the phone.
It is just wrong that this should happen, I cannot let it go and let them lose the money. I shop at Dollar General pretty often ([protected] my account) but I am considering stopping.
management complaint and employee
3/25/18 I went to store number 1650. When I entered the store I could hear 2 people talking and discovered it was the on-duty manager and an employee. I was there for about 10 minutes. After making my selections I could still hear them talking. I waited at the register along with another customer. Finally, I went and asked them if anyone was going to check us out so we could pay. The other customer had put her items in front of mine so I set them back to the side from mine. Then the employee grabbed her items and rang them up with mine assuming she was with me. He clearly was not paying attention to his job. I guess he wanted to get back to his conversation with the manager. The manager, of course, had to void the item.
This was ridiculous and is not the way a store should be run!
dollar general brand body wash
I purchased your equivalent to Olay moisturizing body wash. I showered with it last night and once I dried off I became very hot and began itching all over my body so badly that I couldn't even lay with a sheet on me all night. I took an antihistamine but it didn't help very much. I have been miserable for over 12 hours. Should I throw it away?
Can you send me some type of reimbursement and something for my suffering?
I shop your store 2 to 3 times a week and this is the first time I have had a reaction to your brand.

Well im joshua Barfield an employee at Dollar General store in Newton georgia store number 08185. Anyways my co worker name brittany woodard was ringing me up on cash register i done clocked out and was checking out. And she hollered at me in my face and said dont get no attitude with her. I Was off the clock so i was considered a customer not employee then. So i dont like way i was treated. I'll shop somewhere else... That was very inapproiate behavior.

On Sunday March 25, 2018, my husband went into the Dollar General on Columbia Drive in Decatur, Georgia to purchase a few item. When he returned, I noticed two gallons of milk that he purchased from this store was expired. This isn't the first time something of this nature has happened. When returning back to the store, nothing was done due to every gallon of milk in the store being expired. This isn't only a waste of money, it's hirribke business. As a previous Assistant Store Manager for Dollar Express, this is unacceptable.

You think you deserve better treatment because of previous status? How about you tell your husband to pull his head out of his [censor] and look at the [censor]ing dates on the milk before he buys it. Don't like that the cheapest store in your town sells borderline expiration dated milk? Then go to a different store. You're nothing special.
manager unwilling to correct coupon mistakes
I was checking out and had used digital coupons. Before I was finished I asked the cashier to make sure the discounts had been applied. She told me there was too much on the receipt and advised me to go over it and if anything was missed, her manager would correct it. I took everything to my car and reviewed the receipt. Multiple digital coupons were missed, which was frustrating because they were items I normally wouldn't have purchased. The $5 Off $25 Saturday only coupon was even missed. When I came back in to have the manager correct my total, she told me she didn't know how to fix my issue and handed my receipt back to me. Aggravated to say the least.
out of date merchandise
on march 24, 2018, I purchased 2 packs of energinzer batteries aa4 fpr $4 each. they were marked with a coupon for $4 refund for purchasing 2 packs. when I got home to use them the expiration date was to be redeemed by march 30, 2016. how can i get my money back and be assured that my community store does not sale out of date merchandise anymore. thanks, regina leighton
speeding on residential road
At 1:15cst PM time a DG driver was travelling at an uncontrollable speed on a county road that he had no bussiness being on. He was heading East on Lee Rudy Rd in Owensboro Ky. Please tract this incident and correct these issues. This driver should have never been on this road. This road is a hilly county road with children in about every house. Please keep these large trucks off of county roads
I am a past employee store 16465
My name is Sara Cooper employee #2118646 and I am no longer employed with Dollar General.I did recieve a letter in the mail stating I was a no call no show/walked off job. This is not true. I feel I was harassed by the manager and bullied by the assistant. The manager Jack Vance would call me "pet names" such as sweet Sara bara, honey, sweet cheeks, and girl as saying it flirtatious and slang like. I calked Jack personally on Feb. 26 to put my 2 week notice in and he was rude and started yelling about thats BS and how it puts him in a spot. I worked that evening and the assisatant manager Ashley told me she felt like stabbing me in the face for going to work at Hiltop. (business down the road) Jack came in and told me he had a replacement for me and that night would be my last night so he could train the new one. I said ok. I live in very rural area 4 miles from this store and so many people have told me how bad Jack has been talking about me. One conversation was recorded about him slandering me. I am thinking about making a report to anywhere and everywhere including BBB, unless you can tell me with guarantee this nonsence will stop. I live and work in this same area and its been a month and I have had enough. Dollar General is the only store besides gas stations and a grocery store (that is 8 miles away from dg) around and its a great store and great location but manager and team is what makes the store and I have lived here 20 years and know many people and I have kept my mouth shut so far but about to go viral.

I was at Dollar General on 1156 N Cass Street in Wabash Indianan, on 3/22/18 at approximately 8 pm - 8:30pm trying to purchase a couple of items. When I arrived at the cash register there was a lady in front of me who had already checked out I could tell this because she had her things in bags and in her cart and on the shelf that had the plastic bags. While standing there patiently waiting the cashier and the lady were going through the ladies phone what appeared they were doing is reading text messages. Never mind that I was waiting to check out so after about 5 minutes of this I sat the items down and left. I have done a lot of business in this store but if this is the way customers are going to be treated I will not be back. The cashiers name was Lisa.
merchandise not being on the shelf and the survey coupons.
I was in your store # 0255 at 17:38 and as usual the charmin bonus 12 pack was not on the shelf. Eight times out of ten the $5.00 dollar pkg I like to buy is not in stock. And since you've knocked the survey coupon down to $2.00 for $20.00 spent it is not worth the extra trip for me. I can save 10% where I work. I don't get the bonus pkg but, I don't get it at your store either. The very next day I went in for TWO items and SURPRISE, one of them was not in stock. It was the Dixie paper bowls. It really is getting to be not worth the time and effort to make a special trip to this store.
