Dollar General Unlawful termination

I've worked for dollar general almost 4years going on5, since I was moved to district 56 store14854 It's been very difficult being this was my first store. I walked into that store and backroom was very impacted and every aisle was full. But I made the best of it and got to work. After a month or so there was a new dm aaron johnson, he came and we meet I told him I was new to the district as well and that I'm still learning. Well aaron didn't take a liking to me and I seen the difference. My job became stressful aaron would speak with me very rudely in front of people then he pulled me in the break room holing at me, would want me to complete a task that hasn't been done. I called him cause I thought I had messed up on nons an tons aaron tells me if I have problems to call him another manager gets on group me and asked the same exact thing he told her he'll be by to help her. so I felt the difference in how he act with me I began to ask for a transfer that he would never answer until I called erc to see how do I one to move out of aaron district. He's just don't like me and the workers at the store seen the way he act with me. I've never had a manager act unprofessional With me I really feel like this store should not have been my 1st store and then my manager should have help me a little bit knowing that I was still learning didn't know everything but he pretty much didn't take the time to show me or help me out just blow me off!

Claimed loss: my job and the rest of my vacation that I had left

Desired outcome: that the company please look at my history and see I'm not a problem child its this dm had no reason to fire me just because he doesn't like me and I have messages to back it up.

Dollar General Manager Paula

While in the Minier, IL DG (61759) I witnessed the manager, Paula, reprimanding an employee on the sales floor around other customers. It sounded like a matter that should have been private. Treatment of employees by upper management on the sales floor should not be tolerated. Because of this I will now drive 7 minutes to a neighboring DG. This is sad because our little village needs this store. I am a mom with young children still in diapers and pull-ups. Having the DG is convenient.

The employee being avoided was a new hire and freshly back from Basic training. He has/had no prior experience in working at a retail store. I know him to be a hard worker and needs a little extra guidance as he is ADHD.

It seems this has happened before with Paula and another employee who has special needs. It is my opinion, and strongly advised, that she be removed from her role as manager. From what she was saying it sounded like she has very high standards and that the young man was not properly trained, either by herself or other member of management. I would urge she be investigated before this store loses more business and has to shut down. It already has a high turnover ate for employees, more so since she has taken over as manager. This says something about her leadership skills and impossibly high standards.

Desired outcome: Removal of Paula as manager of the store

Dollar General Wrongful termination

Hello, My name is Tiffany Arledge from store 12872, in Cross S. C, I was the Store Manager there. I was terminated for stealing also they said I help someone stole. I never stole anything! they never showed me no proof, they only said they heard I was involved in it. I said I didn't do I and wrote a statement because they basically made me. I work at that store since April and I barely had a day off I worked from open to close and I kept everything running and feel like they set me up for failure. Now since I have been let go they have hirer people back that was causing alot of the problems there I feel this wrong! I have worked for dollar general for 3 years and never had this kind of problem. Im the only store manager that worked all those hours and got little pay, but it wasn't about the pay I loved what I did. I do have a lawyer and I do feel that there might be a lawsuit against the company! Thany You, Tiffany Arledge

Claimed loss: I have lost 4 weeks of pay cause me to be behind in my bills. the total amount is 2,345.52 thats just an estimated guess.

Desired outcome: I would like to be compassionated. I gave my all to this company, to walk away with nothing.

Should not have signed a statement without a lawyer present. Legally they cannot force/make you to sign the statement. Also, best to delete this while complaint and let your lawyer deal with it. If they have access to this they can find a way to use it against you. Of course print this complaint out before deleting.

Dollar General Key holder/manager Deanna

On November 25, 2023 at approximately 8pm my boyfriend (who is an amputee) and I went to the Dollar General at 9689 Saracenia Rd Moss Point MS to shop for some groceries. We shop there several times a week. It was Saturday and the store was very busy. We finished our shopping went to check out and the checkout line was very long things were moving very slowly because the person helping check ppl out the key holder /manager NAME:

Deanna, shoulder length blonde hair, heavy set was talking and holding things up we were 5th in line everyone in front of us had full baskets my boy friend told me he was going to the truck to sit down his prosthesis was hurting him and I told him ok and he left. As soon as he walked out the door Deanna said in a VERY loud voice "HE GOES OUT AS FAST AS HE COMES IN!" the customer in front of her ask why? Again in a very LOUD voice so everyone would hear she said "BECAUSE HE'S A THEIF!" She smile and looked around I could not believe she said that who does she think she is? She doesn't know us I was standing right there I was so embarrassed and enraged I took my hand bag and left the basket full of food and exited the store. I'll never set foot in that store again as long as she's there. She needs to be terminated immediately read the store reviews and google reviews she does this all the time to people she doesn't even know. Paying Customers... She's rude loud and obnoxious she doesn't do her job she park's in the front door she's always outside smoking cigarettes right by the front door so customers have to walk through the second hand smoke. She's always outside on her phone or talking to someone on the parking lot. If you go there at night 30 miutes before close she meets you at the door and tells you to hurry up. 10 minutes before closing she begins yelling "10 minutes ppl!" She shouldn't be working that job I'm seriously thinking of consulting with an attorney and filing suit against her and Dollar General she's a narcissistic rude and judgemental calling people thieves and crackheads all the time. It's embarrassing hurtful and wrong. Dollar General Store manager

Yesterday I went into the store for milk and bread. As I was walking to the checkout counter, there was a lady that was finishing up checking out. As she walked out with her bags, I went to the counter being the next to checkout.

The manager (Nikki as I was told) was the one running the cash register.

As I approached the counter, she looked at me, placed a sqicky toy in the middle of the coutner and walks outside. So, I thought "ok she's going to get something & will be right back. Thinking maybe buggies or whatever.

I stood there, looking back and forth from door to the store. Still standing I realized she wasn't coming back. So, I sqeezed the toy for someone to come check me out. Someone from the back came and I ask Who was the person just here ckecking out, that seen me standing here and walked out? She said Nikki and she's the manager and it her break time. Holy smokes... I was very disappointment. So needless to say, I will not be back at that store. I will find another one to shop at.

Dollar General digital coupons

I was shopping in Dollar general and wanted to load a couple of digital coupons that I saw advertised in the stores. I had preloaded several other coupons before entering the store. I tried to load but all I got was the spinning DG. When I approached the clerk , she said you have to go outside because we don’t have a connection in here. I went outside and tried for 10 minutes unsuccessfully. I re entered the store and ask the clerk if they had something they could do at checkout to give me the digital coupons since I was unable to connect. She said no because the company offering the coupons is not affiliated with Dollar General and they have no control over it. As a result, I left my full cart and exited the store. I had over $50 worth of stuff that was not sold solely because of a poor digital coupon system. You might want to review the coupon procedure. Also, I have seen digital coupons offered in the flyer but when I go to my account to load, they are not there.

Dollar General store number 403

Store manager refused to allow double bagging of items and packed bags to heavily! Three bags broke open caring them into the house damaging merchandise that was bough. Had to throw away purchased items due to damage (can of biscuits burst open all over the drive way ,juice container cracked open and split open and yogurts split damaging 2 of six! Manager claims dm told them they could not double bag due to flint mi stores being short bags! If managers can order properly for their stores it should not be the customers problem. Will be spreading the

word and telling others not to waste their money shopping there!

Dollar General Lowes gift cards advertised both online and mobile phone Not correct.

Look at your weekly sale ads sent to all of us with a black border showing November 24 ONLY clearly it shows Lowes gift cards 15% OFF only on November 24.

BUT they were actually only available 11/23 with the 15% discount. so shopping today is too late. Even when the checkout person see the ads they are unable to adjust the gift card price.

VERY frustrating. I shop frequently in your stores and this is alarming.

Please email me back a possible solution for this wide spread error.

Dollar General Employees are lying about their blue dot penny salese also being very rudesalese dot dea

At Dollar General on Peach Orchard Road, address 3036, there are 3 female employees, and one of them is the manager. Lying about their sales. They put things high up, so customers can't reach them. When I saw a ladder and tried to use it, she snatched the ladder then refused to get the item for me. When I get to the register, I watched a lady ring up the person in front of me for the penny. Blue dot sales. They lied to me and told me my blue dot items were not on sale. The manager was rude. I believe they are saving the items for themselves because I had a lot of items for my daughter, and I was told they weren't on sale. The manager replied, well, let me put these back since you can't afford them. I then called corporate. I remained calm, yet these ladies were very rude and one of them even threatened me

If you knew what the penny deals actually are, maybe you would understand. I am sure there are signs that say ask an employee for assistance with items, you don't touch the ladders. Items that are pennied out are things that the understaffed and overworked employees didn't have time to pull down, pack up and send back before a deadline. They get violations for not doing this impossible task and NO, employees aren't keeping them for themselves. If a customer finds a penny item and brings it up, the employee is supposed to go take the rest off the shelf and not allow customers to go back and clear them out. But guess what? There is no time to step away from the register sometimes and once they know it is ringing up one penny they have to stop selling them. Putting them up high is utilizing sky shelf space for storage not the employees hogging the good hoses and pillows.

Dollar General Customer service by a assistant manager

Hi,

I went into the dollar general in Oxford Ct Saturday. My 5.00 coupon did not come off. The assistant manager which I had to wait for while she was in her car and the cashier was trying to get her to help with the 10 customers in line and people asking where things were. This poor cashier who was extremely nice and apologized. So she tells me that I can only use one digital coupon and since I used one for the laundry detergent, which was 2.00, I cannot use 5.00 off. I have never heard of such a thing. I shop Dollar General at least once a week. You have digital coupons but can't use more than one doesn't seem right. So, I asked to return my order which was 40.00. I said I don't understand and she was rude to me. I said I have had trouble with you before and she tells me that she has never seen me and that I should shop somewhere else. They have a store in Naugatuck and Prospect she told me. That is extremely rude. I was very upset I said I am a customer, and she should not talk to me like that and I asked her to stop. This is unacceptable behavior and I have never been treated this way. Your manager there I don't know her name is very nice and friendly. The cashier that checked me out was very polite and nice even said sorry for the wait, Her name is Deanna I think. She should be your assistant manager. The name of the rude women was Jeanine. Can you please get back to me if there was anything done about this.

Yes, read the fine print before forcing an employee off their lunch early because you couldn't use a five dollar coupon. It says very clearly that it cannot be combined with any other coupon, nor can it be used toward alcohol or tobacco.

That could be. My store sometimes will not accept a manufacturers coupon in the system and the customer always thinks I am lying or wrong, maybe that is what happened here and the $2 wasn't taken. More likely or not this person had two Dollar General digital coupons that cannot be used together.

Dollar General Ebay gift card/ did not activate

On October 31 2023 I purchased a ebay Gift card for $100 at Dollar General at 71 Hogue Road Pine knot, Ky 42635. The card did not activate something happened to the cash register. It said to receive a refund but the cashier said there was no manager there & she could not do it. I would have to come back the next day. I went the next day they said they could not give me a refund until I brought in a copy of my bank statement showing I did not receive a refund. I took my bank statement there it showed no refund still did not receive a refund. Said I would have to come back the next day. I walked there 6 times. The manager said since it was not activated I should contact the card company ebay & get a refund from them. I said I bought the card from dollar general not ebay. She said we hate the cards & do not like to deal with them. I said then why do you sell them. Still no refund. Well last Sunday someone from the dollar general store called my daughter at home & told her that I had purchased gift cards at the Pine Knot Store which is an invasion of my privacy and ask her to make me stop buying gift cards at that store. I was very upset about this because I do not tell my daughter my business and she is not my boss or my guardian. And I spend alot of money at this store since I can walk there from my home & my car is wrecked also. I would like my refund of $100.00 please Thank Youn

Dollar General cashier

was buying beer, was told to remove my dl so she could scan it. I said no, all the information was on the front. she did not agree and got ugly. I have been buying in that store since it was built. and the weirsdale store also. never ever a problem

everybody there is very friendly, and everybody in line heard her rant. not good.

Back in July 2023 she wouldn't take my ucard, she belittle me in front of customers. I Call to file , they didn't do anything... In September 2023 they hired a new manager. They don't want to figured out the system.. Went in there not accepting ucard anymore. I was I was embarrassed in front of the customers after they ring me up... that's what the worker...

Dollar General Meeting

I was supposed to go to a meeting November the 11th at 7:30 a.m. I informed my manager a week in advance that I will not be able to attend the meeting for that specific day I called on Sunday the 12th to speak with her but all she did was told me that I missed two meetings somehow and to turn in the keys so later I'll check my schedule and seeing that she had completely removed me

Dollar General Store conditions

The store located at 8891 Nc Highway 14 Eden NC 27288 is deplorable! There is trash on the floors, receipts, boxes ever where. The refrigerator section has boxes in it full of unpacked items. The workers drinking in the store at the register and smoking in the doorway.

I am uncomfortable returning to the store. I didn't even want to get food for my dogs let alone food items for me.

Dollar General Amazing staff

I left my wallet at the store earlier today and didn’t even realize it. Danielle and the other staff there noticed and she did everything even found me on Facebook, and got in touch with mutual friends just to make me aware it was at the store & safe so I could come back and get it. People so sweet & honest are hard to come by, but what an amazing woman she is! Thank you so much again!

Dollar General Belair Road Store Martinez, Ga

This store must not have a manager or any stock employees. It is a joke and a potential accident hazard for shoppers. Stacks of unstocked goods everywhere seven days a week. The self scan checkout has been out of order for three weeks. The floors are filthy and the shelves aren't stocked even though the product is sitting there on the floors, SOMEONE IS NOT DOING THEIR JOB OR BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE
