rude employee
After a company meeting on Thursday 2/3/2011 @ 1:00pm, My co-worker and I decided to drop by subway to pick up lunch before heading back to work. The first teenager that asked us what kind of sandwich/bread/cheese we wanted was ok (she only yelled out across to the other teen once). The second however was very rude, throwing things around slaming the mircowave door. Once she finally noticed me and said "whatchu want on dis?" I told her and then to finish I said some ranch, then the ranch was out...with a glob or two on my sandwich I asked if there was anyway I could get a tad bit more one it...she said "Yeah" stormed off to get more rance...my co-worker then begins to tell me that this is the same girl that is always so rude to her and everytime she is here she is like this. Well, I decided to then give it back to her. She rang up what I had ordered ( I had to tell her 4 times) She rand up my co-worker and mine together, my co-worker said those are seperate... She then huffed and puffed grabbed our food out of the bag and was hitting the computer with her finger to correct it. I finally got to the part where you pay. I was done with this girl by this time, I laid my card on the tray---she grabbed it and swiped and gave my receipt and card back. I have never had this kind of attitude from someone that works there before. My other co-worker had had issues with them as well...She had thought she left her keys there and called back up and asked her and the
same girl said "aint no body left no keys"
Co-worker said "Well can you look for me?"
Employee "Naw I done told u aint nobody lef no keys or no message abouts no keys"
Co-worker "K" hung up.
There are many other people that need jobs and they hire these impatient, rude, attitude filled teenagers to do the job...really? I will not go here if I see her working again! Get rid of her and I'm sure you'll have more customers!

First of all, I am not one of those individuals that routinely write to companies to complain. I have maybe written to a company twice in my life. I can tell you that I frequent Subway and often times choose your offerings for lunch several times a week. Last evening while shopping with my family at Walmart, I decided to order some sandwiches on the way out. This was at store #38497 at 20:25:39 trans.#215 Dwlr1 TRDT 020314 Host ID [protected] in the amount of $17.32. First off we were greeted by whom I believe is Logan who proceeded to make the first sandwich on the order and who opened up the ticket I believe. He was short and appeared somewhat stoned but that’s ok, he took care of my first sandwich just fine. Then the second gentleman took my 2nd sandwich order. This guy was tall and thin. As we proceeded through the vegetables and he asked if it was for here or to go, I told him I needed one last sandwich. He rolled his eyes and snapped the gloves from the holder to put them on. I said "eye, what kind of attitude is that" and he SHOUTED "you are suppose to tell me before we get to the end of the line". I told him that was rude and obnoxious and told him all I needed was a simple 6 inch Tuna with nothing else on it. Not toasted. No vegetables, no nothing. So I said to him "now that wasn’t hard now was it". He continued to be snarky saying how I was suppose to order earlier in the line. I asked who his manager was and he laughed and said it will be on the receipt. When he printed the receipt I saw the store managers name was Robert. He laughed and said "Robert was fired last week, so good luck". This guy said his name was Hunter but I am not sure if I can believe that. I am a Senior Manager for a major automotive car company and expect more from your franchise, as I am sure you do to. I do not think you want me and my mouth spreading this negative experience. I hope that this gentleman is dealt with swiftly and appropriately. I hope to remain a loyal Subway customer. My email is laguilar@hmausa.com. I have written to the Corporate Office as well. We will see if this is appropriately handled.
I went into our subway resturant one afternoon to get our dinner there is 5 in our family. The girl working was very upset slinging the bread and the veggies around. She said her helper had laid out on her and she was having to do it all by herself. I can undersand her frustration. She got on the phone several times calling for help I assumed. Every time someone else came in the door and got in line she would say DAMN. She was red in the face and kept cursing. I told her to slow down and calm down before she had a stroke. I felt sorry for her but she made everyone feel like they had just entered a war zone. When I finally got my order and left people were backed up all the way to the door. It looks like the manager or whoever is in charge could take better care of their employees than that.
The red head girl that is there everyday think her name is "Jes". What a rude employee, she nevers smiles and commands your order then rushes you though the sub making process. She even rude to her co-workers and the owner thinks the world of her. He going to lose alot a great customers due to this employee that he likes a great deal. Please have someone other then "Jes" be your day person hate to see another small bussiness go out of bussiness.
Was this girl Asian ? lololol
I know how you feel. But do you know why the owner think's so much of her? It is because she rushes you through the sub making process. It because she does it all so quickly - this in turn save HIM money because he can make more sandwiches in a smaller amount of time with her. But yes, i know what you mean about not being given time to think. All i can say is complain, then you might be able to get the presure taken off the employees to work so quickly, and in turn have better customer service.
I recently went to a Subway in Redding Ca on Dana drive and had two employees act absolutely rude . The both were cussing and discussing a passion party and the things( sexual toys) they purchased there. I understand that complaints against these two employees have been made to the manager, that is why I am posting this. This same shop has other great employees, however the behaivor of these two is what shadow the store. It would be of best interest to fire Danyell & Emily
rude mean treatment
this subway has nice people but also some really rude girls working there lately. They have bad attitudes and treat people with contempt. I asked the dumb rude [censored] behind the counter to move my onions to the end of my sandwich so they can be evenly dispersed since she slopped them in the middle like the lazy b she is...she refused and said once she closes the sandwich they'll just move there...yeah right. Its my sandwich...why is it so hard to move onions...then more bad attitude...just rude people working there they are awful and need help with their [censored] attitudes to people- lazy slobs

hygeine/illness
I walked into a subway at a food court in Manipal, Karnataka. First of all I was shocked that they were using their bare hands to make the sandwiches! I figured if that's how they do it there then no point in being fussy about it. I politely ordered my sandwich and walked out. 3 days later I was in the hospital suffering from Typhoid Fever! I asked the doctor what might have been the cause, and he said usually fecal contamination of uncooked foods. The only uncooked foods I had consumed that entire week would have been the veggies on my sub!
Brenda, check the location. This was last month while I was on vacation in India.

charged me $14 for a foot long!
I often go to subway to get a $5 footlong. When my friends ask where we should eat I always say subway. Well not anymore! Yesterday when I went I was charged $14 for a foot long! I got 3 meats, one cheese and the toppings.
Why was I charged so much? He tried to make up some * reason but since he was mexican I didn't argue cause I didn't even understand him!
I was so upset that I don't plan on ever going back unless I get my money back or at least $7. A very upset lady.
3 meats? well he charged you separately for each of the meats.. I thought the $5 was only valid on select subs..
You should have refused to pay that much and then spoken to a manager and/or left.
shouldnt have paid it. race has nothing to do with it. your own fault for paying and or not asking for someone else ie manager. you really wanted that foot long eh?
manager bullying his employee
The Manager at 1026 west Rand road Arlington Heights Subway is very rude to his employees that customer like myself refuses to eat there .An employee there that I have known so long name Martin is very good in customer service. He makes you laugh and makes you feel at home. He is the reasons why people keep coming back because of his positive welcome...

I was surprise that after 4 months that I mentioned to my friend that there was a huge roach by the soda machine at the subway, he has not gone back to eat there. He said that since I mentioned it to the employee and the employee did not do anything about it it meant that they have a lot of roaches and that the employee was not shocked because of one roach...

I responded to the listed Subway establishment to purchase a "seafood sub" as I always have at any other locations. The female server was very limited on the amount of seafood she was placing on the sandwich. She partially filled the "scoop" used to gather the seafood from the bowl to place on the sandwich. She then began to spread pieces of the seafood to...

Many people on this board complain about the customer service from the workers, but let me enlighten you about the way the employees are treated.
The youngsters have to put up with turning up for there shifts only to be told that they are now not needed for that particular shift.
They have split shifts such as 11-1 then 5-7. Difficult if they are non drivers.
They are schedule two and half hour shifts and then told if five sandwiches have not been made in one hour then one of the employees will need to leave.
They get called in on there day off, (not asked if they can work, but told that they have to).
Can be given thirty to forty hours one week and then the following cut down to three. (Fair.. I dont think so).
Get write ups for clocking in a few minutes early to help out with the line that is forming in the store.
The list goes on... So when you visit one of these stores, remember those poor students that are trying to make a little money to help them on there way are getting a very raw deal.

i worked for a subway in saintcair pa inside the walmart they gave me a promotion and raise got the promotion and extra work but no money they told me they would fix it in 2 weeks i already have been working 2 weeks well really 4 weeks as the new night manager they call it training [censor] i knew everything in 3 days well anyway i quit when i went to get last check they paid me minimum wage was expecting that but they never paid me what they owe me from the previous check well i tied getting in touch with subway corporate they never responded guess im just screwed
I came across this while searching for help for my son. Hes had paychecks with missing hours, his hours cut, his schedule changed without being notified, been promised raises that never happen, same with insurance. He was forced to work while vomitting. After work he went to the hospital and found he had a rip in his stomach. He was in the hospital for a week and they threatened to fire him. He has been degraded by his manager in front of customers. I could go on and on. He is currently looking for other employment. Subway should be shut down. Not only for the way it treats employees but i dont know of anyone who wants their dood to be handled by a sick person. We have all had crap jobs before but subway goes beyond that.
amazing ...in this country(USA) we have a labor board...call them and tell them this story...they will be sued and shut down
I myself am an ex employee of subway and it is a very ### place to work. They don't care about their workers at all. I closed by myself every night and did a lot of working off the clock. What really pushed me to quit was I had to work while sick. I was vomiting like every 10 minutes I called the manager and she wouldn't come in and cover. I called co workers none of them could cover. So I would literally walk off in the middle of making a sandwich and go vomit. Customers started calling complaining and finally the manager came in but was pissed because she had to come in. My shift started at 2:00 and she finally came in at 9:00 to cover for me. How unsanitary is that and they didn't care. Needless to say I told her I wouldn't be back. I think corporate should look into some of the situations that go on in subways and actually do something because some employees are treated very unfairly. While their favorites are treated great and they are the lazy ones that don't deserve it
I am currently employed at subway store 55082 in Spring, TX. I am in my 30's. I am working here because the shop I worked at previously has closed its doors. I'm currently searching while working here. It's true about the hours being cut from mon-fri 11am-4pm to Wednesday and Thursday only 11am -4pm. It stressed me out because all I thought about was "How am I going to have enough on my rent?" I'm still job hunting but the manager makes it difficult too. She "micromanages" and she has scrutinized me in front of customers, snatched sandwiches from my hands as I was making them. This lady is older than I am so I didn't say a thing but walked away. I've been taught to respect my elders. But she's not such a great person to work for. She makes me miserable at work. I have never worked somewhere and had any issues with my supervisors or anyanagement. I'm putting in an employee complaint on her. She's not right. I refer to her all the time as Ms. Grace even when I wanted to tell her off!
AS an ex employee of Subway, I can totally agree to most of which was stated, and even add to it.The store I worked in Highland City, Fl., was a very busy store, and always (in my opinion) understaffed. Therefore dishes, re stocking line, prep...ect was always behind. It was damned if you stayed and made sure it was finished, and damned if you didn't. As stated before, lots of times employees were working off the clock, and on several occasions hours worked deducted from one week, and added to the next to avoid any overtime pay. I don't know who the "manager" knew to get her title, but her managing skills were very poor. I have been in management most of my working life, and I was appalled at how little she knew about customer service, ethics, and treating people with respect. As you know jobs are scarce, if any, and I desperately needed to work. After almost a year, I quit for the sake of keeping my sanity! One time we ran out of forks, and a customer oredered a salad, he came up to the counter and asked if he could get a sandwich made instead, and she gave him a spoon. He stood there in shock and said I can't eat this with a spoon, and she told him to take it home to eat then. She then argued with him, making a scene and telling him how she would have to throw it away and that was wasting food... totally overlooking the fact that it was her error for not ordering the forks, and perhaps I am wrong, but I was always taught the customer is the most important person in a business. This was just one instance of many I witnessed while there. As for getting paid a somewhat reasonable salary for the work you do is out of question. Upon hiring they will promise evaluations at various lentghs of employment, and if you are lucky (and after constant nagging) you will get a 90 day eval. after you have been there 6 months. It is a sad world when there are so many people desperate to work, and have no other choice but to work for these million dollar companies, and get treated like ###! This is not my opinion, but these are facts based on my experience working for this company.
Subway employer.
Subway is one of the worlds ### fast food restaurants. They threat people like ### and they do that with me as well. I couldnt pay my rent now for about 4 months because I didnt get paid or not the amount I require. ### off subway. The only thing what they want to do is money and get more rich. It has nothing to do with hard life its just the matter of fact that subway is not a serious employer. I did take that job because I was desprate and lets be honest 2010was not the year of jobs. I got the last 4 days hungry to bed because I cant afford food. This people are threaten my life and I think its time to go against subway or do something about it. I will quit that job tommorow because I might have to live on the street now. Will see what happens.
Ex Subway employee,
I do understand how you feel. It sucks working a job were your treated like dirt. When I was a single mom, I had to deal with ### boss women, whom thought they should be higher up in the corporation, so they treated their workers like crap. Since in their minds, their life sucked, they had to make everyone's life as horrible, as they felt theirs was. I dealt with working my butt off without any appreciation, watching lazy ### good for nothings be promoted, because they kissed ### better than me. I had a ### boss tell me off in front of a customer, because I was trained wrong. I dealt with disgusting male co workers hitting on me or asking point blank if I would like to ### them, even when they were married or had girlfriends. I have had customers go off on me for situations that were not my fault, but that of my stupid female boss. I have been double crossed by supervisors, or back stabbed. That is life... Work isn't always fun. I had to stay at jobs I despised, because I had children to support. I couldn't pick and choose. Sometimes we have to grin and bare it... It is called life. Nobody said it was fair, and some employers are horrible. When your dealing with a horrible customer telling you off, for no reason, just think how eventually you will have an education, and not have to deal with people like that anymore. If it makes you feel better, key your ### boss's car. I did that to this horrible boss that would go off on everyone. She would just explode! Made me feel a whole lot better, when I took my key and ruined her shiny red sports car. Ruined her month, couldn't stop complaining about it. She interrogated everyone, and eventually got herself in trouble! LOL! Than again, she was miserable, and she didn't have friends, a boyfriend, and her own son refused to have anything to do with her. On my days off, I would go out with my girlfriends, spend time with my kids. She would complain how bored she would be when she wasn't working. Work was all she had! How sad is that?! Now, I have a awesome man, and a wonderful life. From what I hear my old boss is still miserable and alone... That is the way she will die.. ALONE! Be glad your not like them, and are making something out of your life. Enjoy your down time, even if it is hanging out with friends. Appreciate the co workers that make you laugh, and make hell a little more bearable... You will get through it, and be a better person out of it. Make the best out of a bad situation.
Hope you find a better job... Finish your education~!
I agree with psuguy58, this is how the world works. This experience will only make you stronger. Life never seems fair. "But it's true the needs of the business override the needs of an employee. They are giving you a paycheck you work when and where they tell you to." Why is your money more important than their money? I wouldn't be suprised if the owner of that particular Subway was in the same position as you many years ago. But you just have to get through it and give it your all. You have problems and more than likely the owner will have problems too. So just like you are thinking about yourself so will he or she and it's really not a company's responsibility to make sure you can get back and forth to work. You must've known this when you took the job.
Whatever job you do, you got to do it to the best of your ability. What is the reason for not sometimes being able to make five sandwiches in an hour? Perhaps, you are not giving it your all? Your upset about these things which is affecting your customer service? The staff are an important part of any business, if you are underperforming then the owner is not making enough money but that's not your problem is it? I have a restaurant and this is the exact problem I have, when staff make mistakes whether it's upsetting a customer or breaking equipment, they think that's forgivable but it's not. Yes if you very rarely make mistakes, you are human and that's fine. But not giving it your all then having the demands of a top worker, that's unacceptable! I pay my staff after all and I atleast expect them to do the work to the standard on which we discussed before they commenced work. On CV's people write they are motivated and can work under pressure (just one example), well I don't see any of that when they actually start working. Don't get me wrong though, I have some great staff and I pay them more because they deserve it. 1 in particular, he's never a minute late, doesn't argue and does his job all night and doesn't stop and does it all with a smile. I will pay extra just to keep him. My most recent fired employee, expected me to take him home (not in the contract), then give him constant free meals throughout the night (I already provide the staff, 2 meals within the space of 6 hours!), then he constantly plays on his phone, takes breaks without telling me, argues with staff, tries to pass on his work, breaks dishes and glasses, talks to customers in the wrong way, is cheeky at the same time, wants to leave early (always an excuse) and so many other things and he thought I didn't pay him enough. Because we have minimum wage, he got what he got otherwise I wouldn't even give him half. How is any of the stuff he did fair on me (my reputation is at stake) and how is it fair on the other workers? If he does less, they have to do more.
As for some of the comments that bugmenot2 made, you agreed to be a cleaner, waitress, cook and cashier. It's part of the job and is it really that difficult? Employees seem to think so but I used to be an employee before too and it wasn't hard at all for me. I ended up buying the restaurant, I used to work in as the owner aged and wanted to sell. He paid me well and I networked with a lot of the customers including the bank manager that gave me the loan. Anyways I took orders (and tried to sell as much as I could whilst being polite and friendly) and I took telephone orders too. I wrote down all the prices for all the table. I helped the bartender with drinks and on her nights off I did all her duties and also carried the drinks to the table. I managed all the bookings, it was a 60 seater and we easily had 150-200 guests each night from Thursday-Sunday, so I had to arrange 3/4 sittings and on top of that accomodate as many walk in customers. If walk in customers couldn't get a seat, I tried to arrange for them to come back at a later time. I picked up plates, set tables, helped with serving the food. I served coffees, desserts, you name it and entertained the guests at the same time. I made it my business to remember the likes and dislikes of our regulars and made a lot of new customers. The owner, was from another country originally and had to support all his brothers, sisters etc back there so even though he made a lot of money, it all got spent. Sometimes he told me can I pay you a few days later? I said sure and figured a way out for myself. I stayed loyal from the time I started work with him to the time he sold the restaurant to me. Not only that, he owned the actual building premises which was quite old and needed fixing a lot of the times. To save money, he used to do it himself, he was quite old so I stayed back and I used to help him and guess what? I did that for free. This worked out for me quite well as I learned a bit of plumbing, plaster, bricklaying, fitting carpets, joinery and other things. I bought a few properties and I did the work required to bring the property up to date myself. During this whole time I went to school, 6th form and then uni. He wanted to sell when I was in the 2nd year of uni and he went with me to arrange my loan with the previously mentioned bank manager. I bought the business when i was 19. If i could do all this, I expect someone to do atleast half of it, if im paying them. Forget the extra work, just the work we agreed upon. If someone doesnt do it properly, its gunna be piss me off!
And the you quitting, isnt just you getting hurt. The owner is left short staffed which will affect service and he has to once again go through the tedious recruiting stages and listen to somebody exactly like you giving it the big talk and ending up being exactly the same. Oh and also training the new guy which is costly and time consuming.
When you get a job, do it properly. Many find it easier to complain. Do your job with all your heart and dont just think oh ill do just enough to get by because then you will fall short. Try your best, then a blind man could see that you are and you will automatically become valuable to the owner. When you got your degree and a good job, you will look back and remember these days and laugh about it. It's all part of your life experience. The earlier you start it the better and if you learn how to work hard now, no one will be able to stop you in the future.
Yes they can. Live with you parents and save hard. Done. Couple of years of that (Not forgetting that you give your parents money for living with them during your working life, doesn't come free) and standing on your own two feet is possible. Education and own rented home is in hand. Of couse, juggling the two is not easy, however strong, willed people are more than able. Also, I just presumed as you didn't think to say anything about it. Would have thought any normal person would have something to say about being sold out of date food, before having something to say about a workers ability to pay themselves through education without a job.
Please don't bother replying, as you obviously need to sort out your priorities. I'm sure most normal people much prefer in date food, and handing their cash over to companies than don't steal from them through the tax systems.

Date : december 21, 2010 — time 4:00 am — employee badge #87486
This morning on daily routine to work, I asked the booth employee at the beach 60th street "a" train station (that was reading a magazine) to refill my metro card with 3 other metrocards I had with money left in them so I could board the train, to me she seemed very annoyed at the fact that I was asking her do such a thing, she trew her magazine on the desk and said that she next time she wasnt going to do this anymore because it was too many metrocards, she took so long doing this that I missed my train when she saw that I had missed my train she just laughed and continued to read her magazine,

Date: August 29, 2011 - Time: 7:00 am - Booth employee on the Pelham Parkway (Dyre Ave 5 train) - She would not give her name or badge number. She is rude everyday, if you ask her a question she acts like you're asking her for a kidney. She refuses to combine metrocard balances but this morning was the worse. After the hurricane, everyone is confused and looking for guidance. I arrived at the Pelham Parkway Station swipe my card and the turn stile is not working. I ask her, are the trains running, she replies with an attitude Yes. I ask again how do we get in to catch the train, she replies with an attitude, you pull the door open and go through it. Now unless someone tells us that, how would we know? If she didn't want to speak, she could have at least put a sign up with those instructions. She is bad for the MTA and should be replaced with someone that really wants the job. Thank you for listening.
rude service/over pricing
I don't know if anything will be done, but I really would like to get this out. First off, I have had problems with this Subway before, but I would make some excuse for the employees and let it slide, today, however, was the last straw. My brother and I had stopped in to get a sandwich for myself and one for my boyfriend. My boyfriend asked me to get him a footlong club, and I ordered a 6" ham and turkey. The total was almost $19! The cashier gave me the total and I said "Oh, doesn't that seem high?" And he replied, "No, the club alone is $9.95 for the meal." I said "Holy cow! That is way more expensive than anywhere else I've been, even here a few weeks ago." He then said no that they were the cheapest subway in the country? Right, I'm sure they are. I said something along the lines of "I'm not sure about that, your sign says $6.95 for the footlong club..." He cuts me off saying "yea you idiot, then the extra for your meal, don't be so cheap." Mind you, this was after I already paid the bill. No where on thier boards does it say it will be $3 to make it a meal. Whatever I let it slide and went to fill my drinks. One of the other employess had asked the cashier "What was that about?" Then the cashier says "Oh she's just stupid." I turned and looked at him and then he says "Yea the poor b**** right there!" I'm not poor, but even if I was whose business is it other than mine? I said to him "You know what? You are very rude and I'd like to speak to your manager." He then laughed and said "My dad is the owner, complain all you want." I simply stated to my brother that we would not be going there again, Crystal Lake is run way better and is cheaper. As I'm walking out the door he shouts something else at me and says "Yea that's right." I did not understand the treatment I recieved what so ever. Also my food was not that great, in fact I now have food poisoning from turkey that was not kept properly. I tried to submit a complaint on thier website but they want all my information to contact me, I really don't want anymore harrassment from that store. Also when I tried to call and make a complaint I got bounced around from person to person to person for 40 minutes before I hung up. Any other thoughts?
You must be an idiot. Were you expecting a club meal for $6.50? It's clearly stated on the signs that the meal is 2-3 dollars in addition to the sandwich.
contact the better business bureau. i was also charged about $10 and change for a meal. since when did subway get so expensive?

Last Sunday, I paid $20.56 bought a tuna sandwich and a bottle of orange juice for $9.56 (included tax) at New York’s Kings Plaza Mall, and then I tried to find my seat to put down my sandwich first. Then when I came back to get my change, the cashier refused to change the $11 back to me. Does anyone know what she told me when I asked for me change? She...

I am a Subway employee and I have not been paid on a normal basis. It is stated in the handbook that we will be payed every other Friday. Well recently we have been paid the next day of the following Monday. At times we even get paid a couple days early. I get paid minimum wage and only work about 15 hours a week. I do not make much, so I live pay check to pay check. I cannot afford to get paid a day late or even a few days late. I have a son to take care of.

If you get your check on friday, then you won't show up for work on saturday because you will be smoking and drinking with your paycheck.
refuse to make new sub/credit/rude manager
Today I went to the Subway on Portage Avenue and Basswood, (Wolseley) in Winnipeg, and purchased two breakfast egg and sausage wraps to go. When my partner and I bit into the wraps the sausage tasted gamy and we decided not to eat them. I've had the wraps many times before and was very happy when subway decided to do all day breakfast, as I don't eat sandwich meat and I like the idea of both the wrap and the protein. They've never tasted gamy before, so I thought there must be something wrong. I had food poisoning from the Pita Pit before, so I'm careful with fast food. When I went back to the store to return it, albeit, it was a bit later as I had a 2 hour work out, but I had the receipt and there was only one bite out of each and I only wanted credit or a new wrap (no sausage, this time). I was pretty hungry by now. I never imagined it would be a problem. The "manager" was instantly defensive and antagonistic, talking over me and cutting me off, she even scoffed at me, laughed at me and talked to me as though I was trying to "pull one over" on her, when all I wanted was my meal. I asked for the owners contact info or the head office and she assured me that she was the only person I would get to speak to. She took great delight in pushing my buttons and tried very hard to make me react and was quite elated when I did. The owners of the Subway chains in Winnipeg should be more selective in who they hire to "manage" their stores. I'm a frequent Subway customer (2-3 times a week) and am very disappointed in such horrific customer service. They should also train the staff to change gloves after handling money or cleaning up the store, as the young girls working when I initially ordered just kept the old gloves on. I believe that defeats the purpose of the gloves, in the first place.
Disappointed long time customer.
She also kicked me out of the Subway, told me she would call the cops if I didn't leave, and "banned me" from "her store" even though she had already said she did not own the Subway. Then she called me names.

rude manager
I go to Medical School which happens to be right beside a Subway. So at least once a week me and several other students would walk over for lunch on break. Well yesterday Nov. 8th we went over for lunch and all 4 of our subs were all mixed up none of us got the right sub we had ordered. We immediately call them and tell them the problem were one of there employees told us to come back the next day and our subs would be replaced she even told us her name if we had any problems. The following day we did as she told us to we went back and told them her name and what she had said well we got our subs we were sitting there eating them when the manager sends an employee over who wants all of our names, phone numbers and address! when we ask why the manager began hollering at us from behind counter as were still eating saying" We just wanted free food" "We were being unprofessional by wanting free food". I'm sorry but I'm in medical school I don't want or need a free $5 sub however i do want what I have paid for which I didn't get the first time around. The manager was the one being very unprofessional in front of the entire resturant and a long line of customers not to mention embaressing us in front of the resturant! We will not be back and I'm sure alot of the other customers that had to hear and deal with how the manager was handling the problem will not be back either! It was RIDICILOUS...

I went into store#31616 on 6/9 at about 11am and ordered a $5 foot long meal so my total cost for lunch was $7.50. For some reason my debit card was declined so the very nice gentleman offered to run it again and still nothing. So I gave him a different card and everything was fine. I went home and saw that I was charged twice on my debit card, one that went through and one that was still pending. I checking my bank account before going back into the store and I was only charged once on my debit card and once on my credit card. So I was going into the store with the hopes of making things easy and just getting another sandwich being that to me I had already paid for one.
I went into the store and talked to the gentleman that rung me up and he did remember the issue with my card. He advised me he needed to get his manager involved so he could help me. This is where my issue begins. Not once did he apologized for my inconvenience of what happened, but instead told me I would need to have bank statements in order to get my money back. I told him I am ok with just getting a meal like I did before vs. a refund. He went on to say that he does not see anything in his system of someone being charged $7.50 outside of my credit card. I even showed him my two different account statements that I could pull up online and that was still not good enough. He said he cannot help that I was charged twice by the credit card company; that if he gave me a free sandwich he would be out money now. He then said that he cannot just give free sandwiches out to everyone; that a woman was just scamming to get free food going around showing different store respites. I told him that even though I am showing him my two different bank account, I came back to the same subway, with my respite from the same store, and the gentleman that helped me remembers me is not enough to prove that I am not making this up. I would have been fine if there was a process to go through but because he told me that he would be out of money and he would be the one losing in this situation I was just appalled. I told him while he may be out of money if it really was the credit card companies fault, that he should never tell the customer (I am currently the one out in this situation) that they were going to be out $7.50. I started to cry because I was getting so upset with his lack of empathy for this situation and all he cared about was making his money.
As people started to walk into the store he could tell I was getting a little less than happy with this situation and did not want his new customers coming into the store hearing my complaint. He then told me he would go ahead and make me what I wanted, BUT he had to talk my credit card information to call them and make sure he got paid for it so he was not out of a sandwich. I told him why would I do that when they could possibly charge me and I would be yet again the one out. He comment was, that if he did not he would be short. I told him that was enough and the only reason he was willing to half help me was because there were people now in the store. I said a few choice words and walked out. I do apologies for my unprofessionalism.
I used to manage a deli and I would have never in my wildest dreams talk like that to a customer. For someone to get so upset about losing out of $7.50 which is not the cost he would really be out of for the total cost of everything in the first place. To also be put in the category as someone who scams subway restaurants when I had everything possible to show him how I was overcharged is just mind blowing. While I cannot discredit a whole company for one managers poor management style; I can assure you I will never be going back to that particular location. I do have many coworkers that visit the establishment and when I told them about this situation they were baffled.
I sure hope you guys realize who you have representing your company name as far as a manager goes.
could someone please give me banking advice? i posted a question.

I recently found this on the internet and wanted to respond. I remember this situation very well and wanted to give my side of events. The young lady came into the store and explained what had happened and even brought her account statements with her to show the charges on the 2 different cards. It did show on both a charge to a Subway (it did not list a location or any specifics other then a Subway). I apologized and explained that I just needed to look up the charges in my register to verify. When I did this it showed 1 card had been charged but could not find any charges related to the other card. I explained this to her and even showed her the register findings. I said she needed to contact her bank and see where the charge had come from because that card had not been used in our store. She insisted that the bank could not have made a mistake and even though there was no charge listed I still owed her the money. I felt bad for her and kept trying to explain that this was a mater for her bank. I always try to make the customer happy but were not in the business of just giving out money just because someone says so without any evidence. I never accused her of being a scam artist, it was obvious that both her cards had been used at a Subway but again the register showed only 1 of them being used. I just hope she took my advise and contacted her bank to find out what happened
rude employee
We ordered a foot long breakfast sandwich and was given a straight wrong order. The Mexican ady that was at the register was kind enough to say come back and I will make another with no charge. We came back while we were speaking with the "Manager" some lady come from the back and started to say " Next time make sure you order the right thing because thi...

You can go into the store, and want a sandwich and they are always out of the required food stuffs to make it, Are they really a bussiness?, Not really.Cause ive seen where they will make your sandwich, then you can't pay cause the debit is out of order.
Don't goto this location first thing in the morning as you will stand around waiting as the staff that works nighs is leaving all there work till the morning before there boss gets there, , so are left waiting for service.
We have three locations in the city and the only one that seems to be able to do the job they advertise is the main st location, Could this be cause the main manager far all the subways in the city works there..
Complaints fall on deaf ears as nothing ever seems to be done to rectify the problem...thankfully there is numerous other fast food places in the city that are more than willing and prepared to take your order, Get it right, Say thankyou, And actually have staff doing there job.
microwave
I am a regular customer at subway and I always have my subway toasted, but tonite they charged me the price for the toasting and put it in microwave which made the bread soft and taste horrible and when I complained they said that's the way it is and the main people at subway will do nothing about it and I think it was rude. yours sincerely Sean woodsford

bad service, overcharging, rude behavior, trash talks customers rips people off thieves
the subway in okeechobee, fl has the worst servce or just bad. it's run by imbeciles and jerks...and rude females...i went to get a sub and then the girl making my sub asked the fat nasty white trash hoebag next to her if she can put my vegetables on--the white trash hippo then made a rude comment stating "im not dealing with HER" in a rude way...for no reason...as ive never even been to that subway before. Then, on top of those comments, bad attitude, they overcharge people adn dont ring things up as combos-- they ring it up individually and you can't argue with them they will defend themselves. They rip people off overcharge them...and treat them badly...the trailer trash wenches that work there need some serious attitude changes and wores they are stealing from customers and people by charging them wrongly, charging for tiny 'cups' and overcharging them...shame on those low lifes...its the only subway in town so be careful as illiterate white trash are the only losers it seems to employ

This place cheats customers. Ordered a foot long cold cut special promo sandwich but ask only to put one type of meat that comes in a cold cut sandwich. And the Indian guy charged me more. Very unethical business practice.
i didnt make any racial slurs or insults to anyone- im making insults now after being upset by being treated badly-- you obviously dont know the difference, plus you have no life since you live here posting comments 24/7... they also didn't not want to 'wait on me', they made rude comments and overcharged me. you have no comprehension abilities whatsoever- go back to grade school where people as dumb as you belong
wrong order 6 times in a row
In the last 3 months we have visited this particular subway approxiamatly 6 times, following each visit my fiance' and I have had horrible experience involving customer service, food preperation, amount of time waiting and general lack of leadership when asked to speak to a manager or supervisor. Mere minutes ago we called to talk to a manager about our order being woefully misprepared and were informed that the manager was not available. This is not an isolated incident it has happen numerous times to me and several of my aquaintances. After seeking help from this specific location I have resorted to going farther across town to go to lunch at a different resteraunt or even a subway that has proper service. I am extremly displeased and will be informing friends and coworkers to steer clear of subway.
