I did a wire transfer using bank of america in baltimore MD johns hopkins branch to my own account in India using SWIFT codes. I was told that india is a slow to pay country and it takes about 3 weeks and no investigations would be don't till then. It has been 2 and a half months and it hasn't gone through. My bank in india has not received any information regarding this from bank of america and the bank of america is not willing to help. Every time i contact them they tell me that they are sending e-mail to the bank in india to find the status and that the money is in india and nothing can be done about it and it is possible that i lose my money. I have no clue as to how to go about it.

I have been a very long customer of Bank of America and have a coulple credit cards from them. Well, my interest rates are always pretty low (around 8%) but last month they raised it to 16% for no reason! I always pay my bills on time, so of course I called to find out why. They said they raised my interest rate because I have too much other debt and that I should seeek a credit card consolidation company to help me out... whatever... my debt is almost all at 1.99 or 0% interest rates except for this particular card. They "claimed" they sent a letter telling me that they'd raise my interest rate if I did not cancel the card. Well, the same time this "letter" was sent, we were in the midst of a massive hurricane in the Houston area. She did not care. I never got the letter and they were no sympathic at all. So irritating. DO NOT GET A BOA CREDIT CARD! They will screw you any way they can...

I have a Bank of America credit card and also a Bank of America checking accout. On 8/22/09 I wrote checks from my B of A checking account. At the time I knew I had the funds to cover the checks with my
cash advance available from my B of A credit card.
When I called to do the transfer they said "because of my debt to income ratio, they had to take the cash advance available away". I have never been late on a payment to B of A and my credit score is over 700.
Needless to say I was very upset. B of A caused the overdraft on my checking by not honoring my cash advance that MY GOOD CREDIT allowed at the time my card was issued.
I notified B of A about the problem and they were not very helpful. I made 4 attempts to resolve this issue. I felt that they should have at least reversed the overdraft charges totaling $420. I am temporarily out of work at this time. This is an in house issue and I feel it should have not been a problem.
Banking ititutions should work with their customers who are temporarily having a hard time.
I also have accounts with US Bank for several years and they have alway been there for me when needed.
I am sending a copy of this complaint to the B of A branch were I opened the account and also to the
main office.
I will not do further business with B of A unless these charges are reversed. I will not pay these fees.
Thank you for your time.

I started a process of refinancing my home through Bank of America. I had previously been a customer of Countrywide. Everything seemed ok except I had to keep re faxing things more than 2-3 times. I live in Kansas, my mortgage officer was in California and the processor was in Texas. The day before the loan was to be signed the processor had called me to give me signing details. I reviewed the information the officer had given me the day before which was tuned out to be a different payment by almost $70.00 a month. I reviewed the cost information with the processor and told him that the officer said that because my appraisal was high enough I did not need the PMI insurance on it. I was told by the processor that he was correct and either take it or leave it. . I told him I would call the officer and get her take on this. She stated that the processor must have not read one of her emails and that the loan had changed and that the loan would have to be redone. I stated I understood that and asked how long it would take. She said she would assign a new processor and it would take up to 2 months. No, I was not happy and expressed that I did not understand why it would take so long since they just needed to re write it. She basically said that she was giving me this time limit to keep me from being unhappy if it took longer. She also stated she was not sure if the rate would still be locked in.

The next day I received a call from a Notary republic saying she had not received the loan document for me to sign. I called her back and explained what had happened; that the loan needed to be reworked. She was upset since she had canceled her morning to witness my signing. I apologized. I then called the processor who had ordered her and left a message he should do his job and stay up on emails. I told him I had to do his apologies and he had wasted more than several person’s time that day. I turned around and left a message also for the loan officer than I did not appreciate having to apologies for them with the Notary and that I was not sure about having to wait for 2 months since I was quite sure I could get it from a local bank in much faster time with what was seeming better customer service. Yes I was angry but did not curse at anyone!
Since then no one will return my call. I receive emails from the loan officer that she receives my pay stub and that “we are working on it.” This week I received the loan documents in the mail to again fax things they already have to a undisclosed person. I am being treated as I am not worthy of a simple phone call back. I am so angry at this point I am ready to say the hell with you and walk out at the last minute too. (I do not have to refinance at this point). (Before this I was receiving regular phone calls).

I know I am not the only one they are working with but honestly, don't I deserve a simple phone call? I have questions that are not being answered and if this is the way they are treating me now I am thinking that it will really suck when I am locked into the loan.

I am over all a very reasonable person. I have good credit and always pay my bills on time and I know that this may never get to the right eyes but to treat people like this because they are scared I may be upset with them. Well my answer is life is tough! But honestly I am not the one who screwed up!

I am hoping someone who has some power can see this complaint and realize that their personnel may need some training in customer service!

Dear Consumer Advocate,

In 2017 we were victims of a checking account fraud of $4218.15. B of A gave us a week to decide their final offer: pay them $1000 and they would forgive the $3218.15 or pay the whole thing. Since we didn’t seem to have much choice we took it. I have come to find out that B of A filed the loss to the Feds $ State of CA as a 1099-C. Now both want $800 each in taxes as it is recognized as income. We’ve called B of A twice speaking to there customer service, fraud, and legal departments. This was never income for us, rather a cancellation of fraud debt. Oddly, they seem to have no records of the transaction. Yet, they will not countermand the 1099-C. I’m at a loss as to know if there is anything I can do. Can you assist me?
Thank you.

in 2017, Boa increased my monthly note by $250.00 per month and did not inform me why it was increased. I fell behind in my note because of a work slowdown. When I tried to make partial payments I was told that they did not except partial payments. I would have to pay all the back notes to bring the loan up to date but that I may be able to qualify for one of their modification programs. I applied and was denied on a modification loan a total of 5 times, all the while the monthly note kept adding up. We tried to send a partial payment and even sent a full month house note, which they returned. Long story short, my home is now in foreclosure and I am being told that I could have made payments and they would have gone into escrow till my payments were caught up. They had asked for the same paperwork on numerous occasions, never gave me a single contact person, never informed me of other loan programs, they kept trying the same modification program, never gave me a single contact so I had to tell the same story at least a dozen times since no one was familiar with my situation and got conflicting info on numerous occasions. BOA IS A BUNCH OF THIEVES THAT TAKE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE WORKED FOR BECAUSE OF THEIR GREED. They don't care about us at all

Bank of America is at it Again!

Since "taking over" for my elderly father's finances, I've found several instances where companies are taking advantage of him. One of these is the Infamous BofA. Dad had $5800 sitting in an unused checking account. For some reason, I decided to TURN OVER the first page of the Oct 31 statement and what Do I see - a MONTHLY SERVICE FEE OF $18! WHOA - what the heck is this? There were No fees before! And why does he have a LINE OF CREDIT for...get this...$200? Yep - Two hundred Dollars. That's a line of credit? Where did that come from? Upon calling, they advise that they Started charging him in August, and his "interest checking" wasn't interest checking, but "preferred checking" because of that $200 line of credit? So he's paid $54 for the privalege of having a $200 line of credit? They would NOT refund any of this money, but did offer to switch him back to free checking. He (we) cancelled the account.

I worked for Bank fo America for approx. 1 year. After exceptional employee performance reviews I was terminated for making a complaint about an atm machine. For about 1 week our building's atm machine was not working. I called the associate banking department to advise them of the situation since I was trying to deposit money all week and had bills to pay. Several of which I had mailed already one morning (mailbox right outside the bldg walk 5 feet through the door and there is the atm) but every time I went back to the atm there was a sign saying be back at 5pm, will be fixed in am, coming back at 3pm...etc. After the second day of this non-sense I felt I should be proactive and let someone know what was going on in case one of my bills was presented for payment. I called the associate banking department and spoke to a Chris Salazar. Not only did he accuse me of floating checks (which is not the case because I told him the mailbox is outside the bldg I work in then you walk into the bldg and there is the atm machine) he was totally rude, refused to let me talk to someone of authority, and sat there in silence for almost 5 minutes until I requested to be transferred to the survey in which we can overall rate our satisfaction of the call. Finally when I asked for the survey he transferred me to his manager. (obviously because he knew that what he had done was totally unprofessional) When I talked to his manager she was very nice and just told me to go to a banking center...(as if I didn't know what to do at that point.. seriously)regardless I still asked to be transferred to the survey. When I got back to my desk and told my manager what had happened he reply was "those ###"! Two days later my manager and the VP of the department said I was being terminated for using profanity with the associate Chris Salazar and his manager. I tried to explain again what had happened and was told not to go any further that this was done and over with! My manager didn't say one word about how I told her what had happened. I told them I wanted proof of this because they monitor their calls in this department. They couldn't provide any proof of course (because I never acted this was and there was no tape of the conversation) the kicker is that my manager Margaret Bailey brought me to her cubicle three days earlier for an employee review. HA she told me that I actually exceeded expectations when it came to interacting with other departments. BANK OF AMERICA IS A JOKE. THEY SCREW YOU WHEN YOU ARE A CUSTOMER AND AN EMPLOYEE!

I requested a balance transfer ($10, 000.00) at a rate of about 8% interest with an additional $300.00 one time fee (which was made while I was on the phone with the rep). After 3 months, we realize that there was a problem. After paying 3 times $200.00, (min payment required was about $165.00) my balance was out of whack, and after looking into it, they showed additional fees (ex: payment less then minimum required, etc) and min payment required jumped up to just bellow $500.00. BIG SHOCK! I'm never late and have not missed any payments.

Bank of America explained that the transfer was accidentally made at a cash purchase rate of over 19%. They told me they would fix it right away: if I would pay back the total amount, so they could reverse the transaction... they would then re-transfer the amount back to my account at the rate initially agreed to, and refund ALL the fees.

So, I agreed. While still on the phone with a rep, I transferred money from my savings account to make-up for the difference, then paid back the total balance, about $10400.00+ right away. The rep advised that as soon as the card is reset to zero, the $10, 000.00 will then be transferred back to my account at the agreed 8% rate + $300.00 fee.

The next day, they called me and told me they were not going to approve the transfer anymore. They did refund the $300.00 initial fee, but kept my 3 payments of $200.00 plus another $100.00 or so of interest.

In return... I did not have the money I needed back on my account, it cost me over $700.00 and to top it off... I was advised that my credit line of $20, 000.00 would dramatically be adjusted since the rep thought it was inappropriate and too high to begin with (even though I never had a late or missed payment).

I guess no good deed remains unpunished... this is BoA's way to help boost the economy! Uncool!

They must have run my credit report at least 3 times in less then a week. I bet this won't improve my outstanding credit score either.

After 4 years with no fees... All of a sudden the bank charges me 5.95 for a monthly service fee. As this is an account strictly for auto bill payment and debit card use it is well accounted for to the dime. Well, the fee put the account in the red this month because I never expected a fee last month... So a $5 mcdonalds cost $40 thanks to a $35 nsf fee. If that wasn't enough, this month they charged $8.95 for the monthly service fee... They increased them in june... And again more ridiculous nsf fees.

No worries... Closing this account and going to regions bank... Where free checking = free checking.

I recently tried to use my bank of America debit card at the grocery store, it was declined! I began freaking out. I get home and check my account. I have a Bank of America Visa attached to my account that transferes funds to my checking account if I need it. Three days ago my available balance was $17, 655.00. Today they decreased my credit limit to 1, 200$ with no notice, so my account is overdrawn. Next I start digging into my credit card statements. I signed up for paperless statements 8 months ago, and I rearely check my statements. It is automatically paid by another account, I just check my balance regularly for irregularities. Today I find they have been charging me a ten dollar fee everytime they transfere money from my credit reserve to my checking account since June. I have been charged aprrox. $100 dollars a month in fee's. I was told that they sent me a change of account notice in June, with my statement. I told them I don't recieve paper statements. They told me that if I had downloaded my statement from June it would have shown up . I told them I don't download them, they could check, I never would have continued to use the account if I knew they were doing that. I got the too bad response. Now what do I do? I cannot believe they can get away with this. I thought they had to notify their clients by mail of account changes?

Bank of America is pure evil! They are robbing us blind stating that we owe 4 months on our mortgage when we only owe one, mainly because we had to fall behind on our payments to qualify for a loan modification. We used to have Taylor, Bean and Whitaker who went bankrupt and obviously BofA purchased their loans for pennies on the dollar. I have a PMI which guaratees these delinquents about $100, 000 from the government and alot more when they sell this house in foreclosure. Sadly, we fell into hardship when my hours were reduced at work and also the mounting expenses for our disabled son. We have been trying to modify our loan since December 2017 and they obviously are stalling and do not want to help. They will make a lot more money foreclosing on this house. I had to acquire an attorney in April due to their malicious practices and fraudulent behavior with my account. We are extremely upset and have been paying the price emotionally. My hair is falling out. My family is in turmoil because of this. My blood pressure is out of control and goes up dangerously high every time I have to speak to one of these incompetant reps that constantly lie to us. I am taking blood pressure pills everyday now because of all this distress. I am gravely depressed and obsessed with this situation. I have even had suicidal thoughts. This is truly disturbing how they can crush a family like this and cause so much pain and suffering. They have no intention in helping anyone but themselves with our tax money. I had filed a complaint with the Attorney General and he has shown interest in my case and hopefully they will investigate and prosecute to the full extent of the law Mr. Moynihan (CEO) and all of the other voltures involved in this. They need to be stopped!

I just discovered the IRS put a levy on my account. I am in noncollectable status being totally disabled. Bof A chat through online banking with an IRS agent on my land line phone. Bof A would not give me the fax number for release of the levy. IRS agent waiting. No number. Then gave me a state number I can call tomorrow. It is not an 800 number and I do not have long distance on my phone. Still trying to get the fax number. Now on hold with the generic Bof A number ... Will have to wait on hold for an IRS agent who knows what they are doing.

I had a credit card that was bought by Bank of America (BAC). The card had a 7.8% fixed interest, and I'd had this card for over a dozen years. I have an excellent credit rating and have never missed a payment. In June '09 they raised my interest rate to 12.99%, retroactively - which included my $11, 000 debt, not just future purchases. When I called and said I wanted my old rate reinstated, they told me it was an across the board increase. I was so pissed that I refinanced my house (the 15 yr Country-wide mortgage had also been bought by BAC - and I figured if they could do it to my credit card they could figure out a way to do it to my mortgage). The 10 yr re-fi was at a lower rate and included $11, 000 to pay off the credit card. I'm now paying $2 less each month on my mortgage, will pay it off sooner, have no credit card debt, and BAC lost two excellent credit risks (albiet very small).

They screwed themselves when they got greedy, helping to cause the current financial crises, and expect their customers to help pay for their mistakes. Not me. My new credit card is from my local credit union. I wish everyone could do something similar.

I had a checking and savings account with Bank of America which I opened 3 years ago when I worked in the United States. Every month since then, BOA will automatically transfer 25bucks from my checking to savings account. So recently when I visited United States for a vacation, I had the intention to spend the remaining balance in my BOA accounts.

As I was heading to Salt Lake City during the first part of my trip and unfortunately BOA doesn't really function in SLC, I had to transfer funds from my savings to my checking account since there was nothing left in my checking account. However, BOA only allowed me to withdraw a maximum of $500 per day. Left with no choice, I tried to curb my spending but unfortunately, I overspent on the last day. I went online to check the statements to find out if there'll be any charges incurred because of that. To my surprise, the bank only automatically transferred funds from my savings to checking account to fill up the deficit in the checking account and I did not see any charges incurred. Hence, I assumed that BOA will just automatically transfer the funds for me and didn't bother to go to the ATM machine to do any transfer of funds on my own.

The next day I left SLC and was in LA without any internet access. I continued to make purchases using my debit card. As I was on a packaged tour in LA, I'd no time to visit the banking center. So on the last day of my trip, I went to the ATM machine with the intention of checking my balance and withdrawing the full amount. I also wanted to print the transactions statement just to be sure that all transactions I've made were reflected accurately. I thought that a reputable bank like BOA would offer such a service but NO. The ATM machine doesn't allow me to print my transactions statement! And because of that, I have to assume that BOA, like all other banks in my home country Singapore, will withhold the amount from any pending transactions and reflect only the actual balance after deducting these pending transactions. I saw a balance of $164.48 in my savings account and withdrew $160. I thought that will be the end of the story.

When I returned to Singapore 2 days later, I went online to check my transactions just to see how much I've spent in total and to email the customer service that I wish to terminate my accounts. To my horror, I saw a deficit of $56! On further check, I realized that I've been charged for the overdraft protection fees ($10 each) on 4 occasions when the bank did the 'automatic' transfer of funds from my savings to checking account. Remembered I actually went online to check if I'd incur any charges for overspending the balance in my checking account? Yes the overdraft fee came only 2 days later and by that time I was already in LA and as I've mentioned, I'd no internet access nor the time to visit the banking center. I'm appalled to know that the bank has charged me on something that I wasn't aware of. Is it my mistake to spend within the overall balance in my accounts?

And the worst thing is, I discovered the bank hadn't cleared all the transactions and had not reflected the actual balance in my account on the day when I went to withdraw the remaining funds in my account. And because of that, I was told I withdrawn more than the balance in my account and was charged a further $35. This is RIDICULOUS! How can the bank allow something like that to happen?

I did an online chat with the customer service to explain about my situation but was frustrated as the personnel was of no help at all and kept insisting that they'd found no bank error. I was told I had to wire transfer $56 to fill up the deficit before I can close my accounts. And there'll be another $35 charged if I do not do so within 6 days.

This whole situation is clearly not my fault as firstly, the bank had not informed me about the overdraft protection fee – I do not need this feature in my account as I am only spending within the limits of my OWN money! It is ridiculous that I’ve to pay $10 for this so-called “automatic” transfer of funds. Secondly, the bank doesn’t offer a comprehensive list of services at the ATM machine. I can’t even print my transactions statement so how was I supposed to know whether there are still pending transactions? And lastly, the bank did not reflect the actual balance in my accounts. I see $164.48 in my balance and only withdrew $160. I wouldn’t have withdrawn that amount if only the bank had reflected my ACTUAL balance.

Now that I’ve already left US, it made it even harder for me to settle the issue with BOA. I even emailed the customer service in hope that they can assist in waiving these unnecessary charges but was told I’d to call as they couldn’t assist me via email. This entire episode is just absurd and a waste of my time and money.

Can anyone please advise me on how I should fight for my case?

Thanks,
Ying Ying

Yes, they, Bank of America, screwed me too! I opened the account, was given a temp bank card, temp checks, a BIG WELCOME package and told to make sure I activated my new card at their ATM before leaving. Well, now I am magically overdrawn by $65 on a $50 deposit that I had only withdrew $20 at their ATM to activate the card and drove across the street and put $20 in my gas tank.
HOW IN THE HELL IS THIS POSSIBLE?

Is this how they are trying to repay the BILLIONS they STOLE from the TAXPAYERS?

UNDISCLOSED Research Fees?

I am going to report them to everybody who will listen, FTC, Federal Banking Commission, I am even going to contact every fricken NEWS channel who will listen!

DO NOT GO TO BANK OF AMERICA! YOU WILL LOSE!

I was with BofA for over 10 years. My job ended unbeknownst to me and a few checks were overdrawn due to my direct deposit never arriving for my pay nor my bonus.
I went to the bank here. The "kids" working at the bank seemed to think it was funny. I told them that I wanted to the overdraft charges reversed. I NEVER abuse my checking or savings accounts. I went to a couple of branches that I deal with and they were not interested as I opened my account in another state. They told me that they understood and would be happy to reverse these overdraft fees, however, they had refunded too many in Las Vegas already and denied to do so. They told me to keep going to branches and see if someone else would help me!?! I visited 5 branches. I was in the state where I opened my account, and they refused to help me because I didn't live in that state any longer. When I was in CA I went to the branch in Palm Springs and they said there was nothing they could do because they have no control over these things outside of CA!
I abanded this account! Their customer service to an excellent customer as completely unwarranted and unnecessary.

My odessey started with an ill-advised mortgage refinance through Countrywide 5 years ago. Three years ago Bank of America “assumed” that loan and the nightmares began. Unfortunately about that same time my business was victimized by an individual that embezzeled a significant amount of money from me. I have since had wages garnished from my current job for the last 18 months, which has put a strain on making my mortgage payments as timely as I would prefer, but I have made them nonetheless.

The most I have been behind has been 33 days, but you would think from the 5-6 calls per day starting from the day after a payment is due that I were 33 months in arrears. I don’t know how to stop the harrassment. I have called them directly and given them specific dates as to when I would make a payment, but still they call each following day. I have updated my account on the website and still the calls continue. There seems to be no depth to which these inconsiderate heathens will not stoop to get money to pay for their past bad deeds.

They illegally foreclose on thousands of homeowners and get fined 10.8 million dollars, and then the federal government bails them out and now we, the honest and once again vicitmized public are being harrased to the point of public humiliation and health risks to bail them out yet again!

I received the homeowner modification packet to hopefully get a better mortgage rate on my home. Me and my wife have been unable to work for the past 5 years. I started this process 3 months ago to no avail. They transfer me to 5 different people every time I call. My case is easy because I have no pay stubs or income for the past 5 years . We’ve been living off of the help of our kids. I faxed them all required paperwork and 3 weeks later they told me they never got it and that I need to fax it again?

Im seriously concerned as to what is going on. They avoid my calls and they never answer my calls. Any good lawyers out there contact me. I see im not the only one experiencing what the bank is trying to do. Why say you are going to help people when what you really want to do is send foreclosure notices. Smart ploy by the bank and we shouldn’t let them get away with this. I am willing to communicate with other people with the same issue. Proper authorities need to be made aware.

Can somebody PLEASE tell me why we have a congress and house of representatives that allow this sort of treatment of its citizens to take place and still smile as they raise a glass to toast these same CEOs that are paying themselves millions of dollars in “BONUSES” at financial insitutions like BofA because they brought our country back from the brink of finanacial ruin? Are you kidding me? Is anyone but the financial insitution executives better off from this BS bail out? Enough is enough Bank of America!

You’re getting you EFFIN money from me, leave me alone already! Oh, and by the way, why don’t you produce the original loan documents while you’re at it.

I closed a business account with Bank of America this past Spring after years of bad business practices by the bank. In May they sent me a check for the balance left in the account. Now they are claiming that the account is overdrawn by $35.00, that they are referring the matter to the banking industry's collection agency and that by doing so I wouldn't be able to open another account at a different bank.

I must say that I'm impressed by their idiotic insolence. They have raised inane incompetence to the level of art form.

By the way, BofA, I've had an account at another bank since January. They may not be prefect but they treat their customers a whole lot better than BofA.

Bank critisized me and haassled me telling me I am wrong for making a payment on the 8th when it was due on 28th. I paid triple amount yet they claim since I didnt pay on time (Meaning in the time they wanted which was from the 9th til 5 or 6pm on 28th then I would be penalized charged late and over limit fee plus have to pay a min pmt the following month of an extra $460 more than normal even though again I paid triple min pmt 20 days b4 that bill was due. But they claim the cant accept pmt until at least 12 days elapse from the date the prior bill was due. Im not allowed to pay my bill for the first 12 days in the billing period, I have to wait and pay at last minute in order not to get charged a late fee and over limit fee that any interest / penalties for paying on time would incur me.

I am furious with your own automated acct system. First of all, your computer generated voice will try to take over the conversation. I haave never been able to get this system to take me to where I want to go. I have to press "operator" repeatedly to get "the voice"
Attention and then it asks all kinds of info that is again asked when I finally get to the
Customer care agent. If I have bungled, somehow, and get to the "wrong" person I am
Penalized by having to go back on hold and listen to the computer generated "crap" for
An awful length of time. This is my second complaint. When I am put on hold I have to listen to all of your crummy sales spots which doesnt entice me to purchase any of them,
But, instead it makes me more, and more, upset. Check with a supervisor named brian (Spelling may not be right... It could be bryan, etc.. ) he was on the phones on 1/15/10 at approximately 9:30 a. M. On this date. My call was taken by rita, who finally did a great
Job. I told bryan what was bugging me and he has a detailed list (At least he said he
Was writing it all down). I would like to talk to someone who has the power to change your computer generated systems. I have a checking account and two mortgage accounts (Countrywide). I am considering moving everything if you show me that you don't really care.

Please respond. Phone: [protected]; cell [protected]

I have had a simple clerical error with Bank of America. A payment in the amount of $1302 was called into the bank. The operator entered $1032. This error has magnified into a great deal of confusion at the bank.

One branch wants to foreclose.

Another branch is stalled in modifying the loan.

Another branch is stalled trying to sell the loan.

In the meantime the bank has ceased communicating with me. I can't get through. It is always voice mail and a call is never returned. My last formal communication with the bank was mid November.

When I started the modification process I was current on my mortgage. Now because of Bank of America's bureaucracy I am seven months behind. The missing payments are from misapplied HAMP payments and other clerical errors. The bank does not recognize the HAMP payments yet it is keeping the money. Why do they want me to fall behind? Do they get paid twice as much then because of Federal guarantees?

I have been told to reapply, yet nobody has sent me anything.

As administrator of the law that created HAMP, Bank of America has accepted a fiduciary obligation to fulfill the intent and purpose of the law. A clerical error that the bank refuses to correct is an obvious and blatant violation of the law. It may be apparent that Bank of America is using the money for corporate profits.

It has also come to my attention that my mortgage may part of an accounting strategy to spread the banks losses over several quarters to manipulate it's obligation to the IRS & investors in the company's stock.

This I do not understand. I have been given a "Advocate" & a "Negotiator". My case has been "Escalated" several times. Apparently this means nothing. Nobody has ever called back.

I do not want to lose my home because everybody is blaming somebody else. I have filed with every Federal and consumer agency. Everybody wants to point the finger at somebody else. I have contacted the 'somebody else's" already.

We are in the midst of our second bad experience with a Bank of America mortgage. With our previous home, we started with another mortgage company (Wells Fargo), which was a very positive experience. After a couple of years, our mortgage was sold to Bank of America (an all-around pain in the behind, but that's another story). When we purchased our current home, we went with Countrywide. In what was probably a mistake, I told the mortgage agent about our previous troubles with BoA and asked him what the likelihood was that our mortgage would be sold. He told us not to worry, and that fewer than 10 percent of their mortgages get sold within 5 years. Guess what, three weeks after closing on the house, we got a letter informing us that our mortgage had been sold to BoA.

Our first year went by with the typical minor hassles over electronic payments not being received and early payments being applied to the interest rather than the principle, despite our explicit instructions (aggravations, but not huge deals in the grand scheme of things). We made every payment on time, until this month. When we sent in our check, for some reason it was made up for $1800 less than we owed (we currently own two houses, and the check covered the payment for one house). To compound matters, we were out of town for a week and returned on the 16th (our payment was due on the 15th). When we returned, we realized right away that we had messed up on the payment, so we contacted BoA and sent our overdue payment with the late fee on the 17th. Everything's ok now, right? Wrong! On the 20th, despite speaking with BoA and being assured that everything was fine as long as they received the payment befor the 30th, we started getting calls from collection agencies. They are calling us at home, at work, at our kids' soccer games, etc. I've gotten so sick of their calls already (today is only the 21st) that I have started logging their calls and am planning to take legal action if they don't stop calling (how many times do we have to tell them the check was dropped in the mail at the beginning of the week before they get the message and stop harrassing us?)

I admit, we made a mistake and were late with a payment, but it hasn't even been a week yet, and BoA has already sicced their collection agencies on us. In 20 years of homeownership, I have been late with maybe 3 or 4 payments, but I have never been treated like this. If you like being dehumanized, treated like garbage, lied to, and given attitude by customer "service", then Bank of America is for you. Otherwise, steer clear if at all possible (and refinance your loan with another mortgage company if BoA gets its greedy hands on your mortgage - that's what we're doing next)

Excellent customer service? Good business sense during these economic times? A way to thank taxpayers for TARP funds?
I banked with BOA for 27 years, had my personal and corporate accounts with them. I have a 22 person medical practice in northern California. In April my CPA called and informed me that the corporate card through BOA was undergoing a rate hike, from 6.99 to a proposed 22% He suggested I review my personal card and yes, it was slated for a 100% rate increase. Keep in mind that I pay the balance as incurred, as well as the corp card. It was the principle of the matter. I did call the dispute line and was told, any new purchases would fall under the higher rate. A month later, no changes had been made to either card and after a series of calls, the implication was that I never made the call. The interesting point is that the corporate card was conserved yet my personal card was not. Yet the call I made covered both cards. I called BOA's service line and without going on as to the value of my accounts and so on, I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told .. "I would have to call another number the following day". I called my local branch and was told they could do nothing. My next stop was to my secondary bank, a local savings and loan. I arranged a time to open additional accounts and close the BOA accounts in full. The net effect of BOA's arrogance? And do they deserve anyone else's business? I think not.
I have sent several letters concerning this fraud to local, state and federal representatives. I have called consumer affairs as well as our department of corporations. I may be one voice, but I will try and make this fraud known to those that can act.

For those with issues with Bank of America. When I had issues with my recently re-financed mortgage with them, one of their alleged "customer service" people gave me some erroneous, made up info. It had to do with my location's tax bills. Anyway, the person at the state's office told me that the Office of the Controller of the Currency oversees banking activities at national banks. Here is their website:

http://www.helpwithmybank.gov/

This is a division of the US Treasury. I sent in a complaint, but was able to resolve my problem with B of A directly. They have a status check link as well. My problem, filed back on 9/8/09, is still being "investigated" per the website. However, it's a way to get your complaints to someone that might be able to help. Also, they have information on the above link regarding any regulations or rules that have to do with banking or credit cards issued by a national bank, which B of A is.

Good luck.

We have qualified and made all the trial period payments and been making our new reg payments. We found out they were charging us late fees since the trial period even they they told us how much to pay. Then they said we were only making partial payments. That was the first scetchy stuff they did. Now BoA has been taking our money and not posting it till its late. we paid July payment and it cleared our bank in JUNE! and they didnt post it on our acct till the 19th of July ( it was due on the 16th of July!) We paid almost 3 weeks early and they still not posting it till it late and charge us a late fee and report us late to the credit bureau. Its really sad and frustrating when u call and one day u get someone who seems to care and wants to help then when u find out it still isnt fixed u call up and get some guy from india contradicting himself 3 times over. Cant anyone help us? We are at the mercy of the big banks

I called BO, automatic system on 06/15/09, I was informed I had $280 avail balance. I used my ATM card for $7.00 for fed-ex and $8.00 for CVS. I was shocked to find out the next day I was charged for $35.00 overdraft fee five times. Because their online payment did not clear my payment for $260 on 06/01/09, which I had assumed it had, because their system misguided me. When I asked why I was given wrong information when I called, I was told their system doesn't know these things accurately all the time. I asked why my charges were approved if I did not have enough funds. Kevin the supervisor sarcasticly answered. "We did you a favor, you should appreciate us! why are you complaining? Don't you know how to be greateful? " Isn't that a rude answer? How is that a favor? You charged me for $185 for $7.00 and $8.00 charge? You failed to give me the correct information! They even mentioned they used to withdraw the funds immediately, but changed that 3 months ago, now wait until the companies cash the checks. They never sent me an info about it! I said ok then, you should have declined the $260 because they decided to cash it more than 2 weeks later. And that I did not even dispute the over draft fee, but 5 of them were not accurate. If you cleared the 260 and charged me overdraft fees for the other charges, that is fine. Or if I did not have 260 because of the $7 and $8 before $260 was cleared, then you charge me overdraft fee for $260.00. But how can you charge me for all of them and more after you keep billing me overdraft charges? They even charged me the fifth overdraft fee because of the fourth overdraft fee they billed me! No reason given, instead, I was yelled at "Look, take us to court if you want, I will even send your term of aggrement to your lawyer! That will be easier for you!" I said I would never use BO again and will open another bank account. Kevin threatened me laughing "We will come after you until we get our over draft payments and make sure your credit is destroyed." My request for the corporation, ceo information was declined. Higher manager was declined, I sent e-mail complaint, that was not responded. Did the congress use our tax dollars to bail out BO so they can use it to train their supervisors to be abusive to their long-time customers? I have been their customer for 10 years.

I contacted Bank of America in good faith to advise them of a fraud email, I was talked into applying for rewards card. By doing this I had to agree to a Hard Credit Check, this gave BOA authorization to check my credit. This is a set up deal so they can get a complete review of your credit report and your personal information. I advised them that my Experian report and the other 2 agencies had mixed my deceased father's accounts, he died 11 years ago, in with my name and SS#. While they knew the credit information was incorrect, they canceled One 10, 000 card, deducted a credit line from $31, 000 to $16, 000 and canceled a 27k line of credit from accounts. This of course is going to have a major impact on my credit score and will raise my interest rates. While talking to this dirt ball credit consultant, I could tell he was not looking at my credit report. He indicated I was too far in dept, 25% as the credit agency says is perfect. He also said I had too many revolving accounts, the Experian credit agency reports I have 65 open accounts in good standing, the reality is 26 of the 65 have been closed and 39 are active and more are to be removed do to the identity mix up. So, do not agree to let BOA look at your credit if you have a card or cards with them, keep them away from your Hard Credit Check, then at the same time they took my mothers credit card and canceled it as they felt we were in financial trouble, I make 125K a year, clear and own 3 small companies, they say I did not make enough money for my debt, 44K, my monthly payments are only $1, 300.00 a month. I charge on most cards and then when I get the statement I pay it off, I feel since I pay it off and they do not make money off interest they feel they think they are not making enough money off me. So watch out, next they will be doing as Chase going from a 1.5 billing of your total amount due to 5%. I have a 16k balance transfer done last month, they are trying to expedite payment just two weeks after transaction, and they are also wanting to know why I did not use my own 16K, it simple, if I can use their money at a 1% APR for 6 months why would I want to use my money. I used my money for a new marketing program so it was not spent in a playful way, it was business. STAY AWAY FROM BANK OF AMERICA

In this tough economic times Bank of America is bulling homeowners into purchasing flood insurance in excess of their unpaid principal balance. In my case they went as far as to block the unsused balance of my equity line.
Eventhough I have had and outstading record of payment for the last 4 years. My original equity line is for $60, 00. Unpaid principal balance of $34, xxx.00. I have always keept a flood insurance policy valued at the original amount of the loan. However, BOA has requested that I increase the flood insurance to $250, 000.00.
This is excessive and unfair practice aimed at either making howowners paid off their loan or forcing them into foreclored.
"COME ON" Bank of America stop this unlawfull practice and easy up on the consumers.

After receiving our VISA card May 2017 we were encouraged to use it to enhance our new business of which we did; remodeling, new fixtures and such. After paying $50 to $100 over and above the required minimum payment and never paying late or missing a payment we were informed that our interest rate is to almost double. The excuse from VISA customer service was that we are not paying off the debt aggressively enough. I asked if that was the case why would they not require a larger monthly payment? They said that would not help the situation. I asked what amount of payment would be satisfactory to avoid this shake down and she said she was not in a position to tell me the required amount. So Bank of America VISA is basically extorting a larger interest rate out of us because we have been paying our debt plus some and have made timely payments. If this is not resolved we will pay off the debt in full and transfer all of our corporate accounts out of this mafiaso organization. What a disgrace these people are.

we went to make a cash deposit of $1200 and after we put our money in the machine it shut down and said temporarily out of service. so we of course freaked out and went in the bank and they said they posted a credit for the amount to our account and would have us a new debit card issued because the machine ate our card. well it has been over a month and we still dont have a card and we got a letter from BOA stating that they never found any record of the deposit or the cash and somehow the survailance cameras were misteriously not on at that time and the card was never recovered. we have filed several complaints and are going to have to hire a lawyer! BOA SUCKS and they are theieves. you should be able to trust your bank with your cash!

Looking for Class Action Suit to join - or start.

BofA cut my credit line in half - for no reason, no late payments - always paid 2x minimum. The next part you know, hours on the phone, AND people in India wanting to sell me credit protection for $10/month ! waste of time on email - no one cares, no one can tell you why etc. etc.

My credit then shows 98% of limit on this card, and the ding on my credit report alerts other cards. Wamu/Chase then closes a card because of the BofA thing. Again, 40% of limit on the card, no late payments - card closed for no reason, no notification - another ding on credit - and before you know it, because of no fault of your own - your credit is in the crapper.

There is a class action suit forming for Wamu based on inquiries mad on this site - so let's go get BofA. By reading the posts here it seems that there is a way for individuals to STOP BEING VICTIMS. Please post if you are aware of any suits to join for BofA.

Thanks

I am posting this to hopefully shead some light on what a lot of American's are facing. I purchased my home in 2017 and have made my payments on time every month. I went through a divorce and took on the entire house to keep it from going into foreclosure back in 2017. In July of 2017 I was laid off from my job. The day I was let go I called BOA and explained to them that I would need help as my savings would only carry me a few months with no income. I started the Making Homes Affordable program at that time. Since that time I have been nothing to lied to, confused, and been given the run around. I have been told literally everytime I have called "Oh well the person you spoke to last didn't do it right or know what they were talking about." When I called in December to follow up, since the promised package never showed up, I was told that my house went into foreclosure on October 22...which happens to be my birthday. But yet I was never notified and they could not tell me when I needed to be out. Then in the begining of Feb the promised package with the 3 month trial payment plan showed up ... apparently the house did not go into foreclosure. So I made my 3 month trial payments. Then at the end of May I received a final package, stating what my new final monthly payment would be and guess what ... it was HIGHER than when I first started this entire thing! MUCH Higher than the 3 month trial payment (which by the way are not placed towards the balance of your loan and it does not appear that you're making payments - so your credit is hurt even more). I was given 5 days ... 5 DAYS to sign the papers and send in the new HIGHER payment. Their goal or what the president wants to be the goal is getting your monthly payment to 33% of your income. They got mine to 70% of my income. So after a year of fighting to save my house, I'm done. I can't take them anymore and I cannot make the higher payment. So here you go BOA ... here's another house to add to the pile of things that are hurting our economy. Do you care? NOPE! Thanks for using our tax dollars that our president put out there to help Americans for your personal gain. Because it's certainly not going to the American people. It's certainly not helping us. Enjoy it because we can't take material things with us when we go and how we act in this life, depends how we live in the next. And I know I tried my best and am a good person. You can't look in the mirror and say the same.

When I tried to usd my visa/ATM card in Delhi, India, I could not use it. The marchant told me that it would not go through. I was extremely embarrassed, inconvinienced, and worried what was happening to my card. Needless to say, I couldn't purchase what I wanted to purchase and went back to the hotel immediately to call Bank of America. I called from my room directly. I wanted them to reimburse me the phone calls I made which was about $77.
Not to mention the frustration of trying to get through to a manager. They refused to pay for it. I told them that I travel all the time with my job, and she told me "well, did you call us to tell us that you will be in Delh?" This is not protection for the customers, it's protection for them.
I have the receipt from the hotel that shows BofA phone number. I'm closing my account asap.

I was enrolled in Obama’s Home Affordable modification program through BOA in Jan 2017. BOA put un into HAMP trial payment plan. Soon after the 3 months of trial was over I kept calling BOA and they asked me to continue making trial payments since my case was still under review.
In Jul 2017 they rejected my mortgage application saying that I have missing documents. I had sent them the set of documents for about 2-3 times. I appealed their decision and my case was re-opened. Again I was asked to continue making trial payments. In the mean time I started getting letters of accelerate to foreclosure and collection calls. I called BOA loan modification department and they asked me to ignore the letters and continue making trial payments. I received foreclosure notice last week. I was really scared and surprised. When I called BOA about it, within 3 days they rejected my loan modification application which was pending for 10 months.
All these time, I have been paying trial payments and have never missed even a single payment. Boa reported to credit companies as a delinquency and now my credit score is down from 790 to 660. I feel I am been screwed. They want all the money in next 2 weeks now. I don’t know what to do. They are going to foreclose my house.
I want to retain this house and don't want to let it go to foreclosure or short sale.

I canceled my account with BOA several months ago and withdrew my money from the account. 2 weeks later they charged my empty account for the Privacy Source which is a BOA program. This of course put my supposed-to-be-closed account into the negative numbers. I don't get paper notices for the account so on a whim a few weeks later I looked at the account and had a huge negative balance. After making several phone calls over the next few weeks they canceled the charges and closed the account again. Somehow the account has been reopened again and I am back into a negative balance. I don't even have a card or checkbook for that account so how does it keep getting opened?! Service is also terrible- the original reason for closing the account.

Bank of America has absolutely no shame. Seems they have removed all power from your friendly branch office and given it to the most incompetent group of immature idiots I have ever run across. Some of their little tricks are to freeze your account under the guise that you have suspicious transactions. They will automatically freeze your account if you have over ten transactions in one day. Imagine beith out for dinner with your boss. You offer to pick up the tab, but you can't. One of the idiots has decided to freeze your account. So you call in to their crack customer support area where you will be abused, laughed at because you are stuck at a restaurant with a frozen credit card or even better, left on hold for over 1/2 hour.

What a prize this Bank is to America.
