CarMax - Purchased a 2012 Hyundai Elantra

I am to pick up my vehicle Sat 05/21/2022 but here is my complaint and problem, I contacted the sales department because the sales agent that did my application and credit report checking on Sat 05/07/2022 lied to me about the scamming way they have of doing their financing, now being that this is a used vehicle I specifically told her that I was very price conscience and on a budget, I did not want any funny business with the finance company, now American Acceptance is the finance company and I am just now realizing looking at the email sent to be with a break - down of my financing details that for this car that costs $17,548.99 I will be paying double by the time it is paid off in 72months at 26.66%. I do appreciate speaking with Logan, she was great, thorough, knowledgeable and her care and concern, feeling what I felt by this experience as well as one of the Managers, Rob, he was also excellent, and I appreciate his promptness in calling me back on tonight Monday 05/09/2022. My concern is the call center rep's or salesperson need to be honest when dealing with customers, no one likes to be lied to or mislead. Tell the truth, it will go a long way with an overall great customer experience. It will boost your business also, not lower it.

Desired outcome: I want a better finance option, I do not want to have to pay twice the amount for a used vehicle with already 64,000 on the odometer, now I'm wondering if anything that is true.

I am to pick up a vehicle from Carmax on Saturday 05/29/2022. My appointment is at 1:00P. My concern and complaint are with one of the sales representatives and the finance company selected American Credit Acceptance. Being that I have been a customer with Carmax several years and I purchased one of their great vehicles and has now paid off years ago that I do not recall being treated in the manner that I was by this company recently with the purchase and sale of my vehicle, the 2012 Hyundai Elantra GLS. To me there is definitely some suspicious business practices going on here about my sale and pursuit of purchasing a car again thru Carmax. So, here is my problem, complaint, and concern. Under the federal Truth in Lending Act, lenders must inform applicants in advance about all terms upfront and be truthful about the payment factored in and the high interest and APR of the finance company will be charging so that I would have clearly been able to make that call on whether to enter, sign, or agree to financing contract and in you guys' case. I am to pick up a vehicle from Carmax on Saturday 05/29/2022. My appointment is at 1:00P. My concern and complaint are with one of the sales representatives and the finance company selected American Credit Acceptance. Being that I he of withholding of information whether purposedly or unintendedly was done in my case and experience. I only found out when I myself read thru the finance terms from the email received from Carmax. When I viewed it, I discovered that I will be paying double for 1 used vehicle at that by the time I meet all of my payments at 72 months. This ludicrous. The overall experience and unprofessionalism that I encountered by this type of behavior at the start before I even pick up vehicle left me very disturbed, dissatisfied and angry. This is definitely in no way how a business relationship of any kind should be handled with the customer being defrauded or disclosure of deceptive practices. More so my sincere feeling that I take from this experience is that between Carmax and American Credit Acceptance all I became was a prime target for subprime lenders to a person with challenging credit. Still, this is no excuse to be misled or misinformed. It was considered very important to me as it appears to be a high-pressure sales tactic. I am a victim of a predatory auto loan, subprime loan offered to me because of my credit problems. I became easily victimized by this sales lady person whom I spoke with for hours on Saturday 05/07/2022 of which I clearly explain because I am a cost conscience person living on a budget with other obligations to be upfront with me, and that I did not need these type problems by purchasing a vehicle with a high monthly payment only to find out when it is all said and done I will be double paying, this is nothing short of predatory lending deceptive business practices. This is condemned "scourge," it seems that both Carmax and American Credit is purposedly setting up the customer from the start to fail, this is not even human to do so just because a person has challenging credit. An APR of 26.66% is extremely out of the ballpark and especially charging a hard-working lady like myself double in the end. I know that I should be excited about getting a new car (used) but I am not, I am not even sure about entering the contract, I do not like being set up to fail or something becoming a hardship at the start of a business relationship and this is what I extensively explained to the saleswoman. In this case it's actually usury because this agreement, and I have not signed the contract yet, refers to charging excessive interest when money is lent on a contract to receive not only the principal sun again and again, but also an increase by way of compensation for the sole purpose of the same person only making a car sale to obtain commission, with no held interest in the customer purchasing. The interest is called interest by those who think it is lawful, and usury by persons like me who do not. This must be done in a way to something more affordable to borrowers. When coupled the way American Credit Acceptance is doing appearing that Carmax is working right alone with this company, by offering the cost on to the consumer at an effectively higher than normal state. It is more money I will have to earn in order to pay back the lender, for I am very price conscience about everything and I am certainly no dummy in the long run either. By all of these deceptive practices hoodwinked me into a loan offer for which I either could not qualify for, nor make payments on, leading to disappointment, wasted effort, and unnecessary inquiries on a credit report, which could depress my score further. This ordeal is price gouging practices also. I researched the BBB site and saw that this particular finance company has had 167 customer negative complaints, as well as Carmax, I was floored because most of them are complaining about the same thing that happened here in my case, how can a company stay in business cheating and defrauding customers, more so, how can you guys still do business with them for now it also places your company in question and posed a risky and negative customer experience. For my vehicle to be priced the way that it is set up for a used vehicle at 26.66% APR is priced at double its cost of similar cars, this to me seem to be violating price gouging laws. This is the complaint and problem that I have and dislike most about the car buying process. I should have been given the option to agree/disagree to negotiate the finance terms with the dealership. It is clear and very apparent that Carmax did not at all have my best interest at heart, only your own, to sell a car, obtain commission, by any means necessary and this is wrong. Everything on your website where you claimed to make the car buying experience less stressful than other dealership, you failed to deliver that experience in my case. This experience was not at all stress-free. I love Carmax and how you thoroughly and vigorously checked your cars before placing them onto the lot, but what I don't like is misleading or scamming a customer by any means necessary even if they have challenging credit, we are still a human being, just like anyone else and deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect, not to mention professionalism from start to finish. I feel I am in a very misleading and foul contract, all set up for me by Carmax.

CarMax - bait and switch scheme

Through an Internet search, I located a 2009 Acura MDX at the Orlando dealership. After a couple of E-mails, I drove over 100 miles roundtrip, to view the vehicle. At that time, I also obtained an appraisal on my 2002 Lexus LX470 for $13, 000, with an agreement that when I returned with the 3rd row jumpseats in good condition, the amount would be increased to $15, 200.

The following day, I returned with the jumpseats and to finalize the purchase of the Acura, along with the sale of my Lexus. However, through an attempted "Bait and Switch" scam, I was told that the $15, 200 was never promised, even though I had it in writing. Being very angered, I took my car keys back and walked out of the dealership.

It should be noted that over the past forty-five years, I've bought and sold more vehicles than I care to recall, but I've never been treated in this manner. I'm a very dissatified consumer and will make every effort to forwarn future Carmax purchasers of these tactics.

That same day I had to return my vechicle because of the lies that had been told.

CarMax - service, extended warranty

We brought a VW Touareg 2004 on May 2008. Since the next day we got our car had been in the service department 8 times. First thing was the flat tire sensor (2 times with carmax and 2 times with WV David Maus). On January we took back again because the headlight system shutdown in the middle of the night. On January 2nd, they said that will be replacing the left side system and we have to wait until the right side system basically dies to be replaced. We were having the check lights sensor in and out and on May we took back because was shutting down again. Since this day our nightmare started. On that day, they ordered the part to be replaced and made another appointment for us. One week later they called me to let me know the part came and I scheduled the appointment, I tooked the truck and waited 4 hours at the service center, after that they told me that was the bulb, the part "still good", when I was driving on my way back home, the check light sensor came up again, I called Dana the service advisor and left a voice mail after almost two weeks calling her finally she returned my call and she told me bring the car again and we will be taking to VW to fix it. I took it within 5 days (Wednesday June 24th) they rented a car with enterprise (that I have to leave a $50.00 deposit to have it). On Friday she told me, the car was ready for pick up and they updated the bulb from 2004 to 2009, and as a Carmax favor they will be paying for it because the extended warranty does not cover "updates", I said I never asked for update, I asked to fix the part. And I had an argument with the manager and he told me I am done with you, you have to appreciated that we paid for it and you have to leave this place, because they drove my car without my authorization and with no lights and used the gas that I have in my tank and never replaced gas on my tank. I was kind of angry and upset. I called Corporate to try to deal with them and I spoke to Margaret and told me they don't pay for gas and I have a warranty with VW just call and deal with them. Six days later my right side headlights shutdown, I don't have any lights at all. When I called carmax again and spoke to Luis Pedroza he told me that Carmax closed the doors for me and if need to take my car needs to be with VW service center and I need to start in zero with my issue, that was the last words. I have an extended warranty from Carmax the name is Maxcare and now they are saying this warranty does not belongs to them. I called VW to schedule the appoitnment and told me if carmax brought the car to them, I need to leave the car at Carmax and they have to bring it back.
I really appreciate you call me to explain more to you.
Thanks in advance
Also, go to consumeraffais.com and Carmax has a lot of issues regarding this situation as well.

Bring your vehicle to the respective dealership. If it's a Honda, take it to Honda and they know exactly how to work the warranty companies.
