Caribbean Airlines Flight complaint

For more than twenty years, I have been a member of the Caribbean Miles Reward Programme, member number [protected]. On Tuesday 11, 2023 I purchased a ticket for travel to Trinidad and Tobago using 15,000 miles and a payment USD 106.70. This ticket required travel on from Grantley Adamas Barbados to Piarco Airport Port of Spain on April 25, 2023 via BW445 departing at 5.15am.

On April 24, 2023, the day prior to departure, I received an email notice for check-in and responded to the request for electronic check-in. A copy of this correspondence is attached. Unfortunately, an electronic Boarding Pass was not generated and I was not aware this had to be done, since my last flight on Caribbean Airlines (CAL) prior to the pandemic was January 2020. When I reached Grantley Adamas Airport at 430am on the morning of Aprill 25, 2023, the counter had no agents present and I was told it was closed. Since there was no checked luggage, I then proceeded to the airport security counter, where a Boarding Pass was required, but unfortunately I did not have one generated. The security staff then proceeded to assist and contacted CAL ground staff to obtain guidance and a Boarding Pass. While waiting, I also tried to generate a boarding pass electronically, but was unsuccessful. I was therefore denied travel on this flight and was advised by airport security that the message from CAL was that I should go to the CAL counter when it reopened which was around 6.35am. In speaking with a CAL agent around 6.45am, I made it clear that travel to Trinidad on April 25, 2023 was absolutely essential, as I had to undertake a test on the morning of April 26, 2023. During our conversation CAL’s agent seemed unwilling to speak to my circumstances, and he did not apologise for my unfortunate circumstances, but however indicated that he would place me on the BW217 flight departing Barbados on the same day April 25, 2023 at 5.20pm. His advice was that I contact CAL office at 8.00am, which was more than three hours after this ordeal.

When I eventually made contact with an agent from CAL’s office after 8.15am, after holding on for an unreasonable period of time, I was advised that by not boarding the BW445 flight I had automatically cancelled my return flight BW448 on April 26, 2023. I was then informed that at that point, I could no longer get on to this flight BW448 with a miles ticket and would be required to purchase a new ticket for departure on the morning of April 27, 2023 flight BW402 at a cost of USD282.90. This purchase by credit card was made at 8.52am on the April 25, 2023, to secure a return flight, after an extensive telephone call on my cell phone. The agent also consented to waitlist me on the BW448 flight of April 26, 2023 departing at 21.00 hours, but never indicated that I would have to pay, if I was successful in getting on to this flight. She also promised to contact me and provide an update as to whether I could get on to the flight, but this follow-up never took place. Please note that this was same flight that my return was automatically cancelled in the system.

Following completion of my test and having received no call from CAL at around 16.00 hours, I again contacted CAL’s office to ascertain whether I would be accommodated on the BW448 flight and was advised that a vacant seat was on this flight, but I would have to pay a fee of USD 275.00. Since I desperately wanted to be back in Barbados based on my original flight schedule and not wanting to incur added accommodation costs, I decided to purchase the ticket of which an amount of BBD246.36 was charged to my credit card following completion of the transaction at 16.15 hours. Please not that on the previous day I could not be accommodated on this flight, but at 16.15 hours on April 26, 2023, some 5 hours prior to flight departure, I could be accommodated on the same flight, but with a further payment. Arising from this ordeal, I ended up having to incur additional expenses totalling USD 305 in an effort to obtain a return flight from Trinidad and Tobago to Barbados, much to my displeasure. I consider this experience not only traumatic but felt deceived. I am still unclear as to what will happen to my payment of USD 282.90 to purchase a ticket for departure on April 27, 2023, that was done in desperation with my back to the wall. Further, I need to be advised as to what portion of my miles will be credited.

Desired outcome: As can be gleaned from this correspondence, I am deeply hurt and upset by this incredible ordeal. As a consequence, I am seeking your intervention to have some portion of my added cost of USD304.00 refunded.

Caribbean Airlines Items stolen from luggage

Good afternoon boarded a flight at POS on BW520 APRIL 29th, 2023. 1210am to JFK at my hotel was looking for one of my perfumes in the morning as I was getting ready to go to my final destination to put on I could not find any so I give the benefit of the doubt and say when I empty everything I'll find it see that I was in a hurry to leave the hotel as I have settled and pack my luggage I can not find my Polo Sport which was brand new and my Nautica which was open not even 1/4 out as yet very disappointing. Don't understand what kind of complaints this is because you don't know who I am so how are you going to resolve my problem. I have no idea where the theft ok place. I have no phots because some one of your employees is a thief.

Desired outcome: I would like for you'll to kindly replace my perfumes.

Caribbean Airlines T&TEC Communications Department travel box.

On the 4/5/23 I returned to Piarco International Airport on flight #BW1531 after carrying out my work duties @ Tobago. Upon receiving my baggage around 7:20pm I noticed baggage tag# BW318577 with one side of the rolling wheels broken off and missing, one side of the box lock missing and the box opened. All the materials and equipment inside the box was retrieved.
A Property Irregularity Report was made.

Caribbean Airlines Customer Service

After trying to get through to Caribbean Airlines for over 3 weeks, they refuse to accept my instructions to change my ticket after they sent me a new confirmation number on 2/5/2023. They gave me conflicting information and now I have lost my ticket.

I have proof of the email but would not post for privacy purposes.

My new reference number is 33HIHK.

Desired outcome: I would like my ticket which expires on 8th February, 2024 accepted by Caribbean Airlines. They need to keep their word.

Caribbean Airlines Furtherance of cabin crew member.

I was on a flight to Ontario from port of Spain, two weeks ago. On the flight to and return trip from, I was completely speechless by the attitude and treatment given to my family by one of your cabin crew. The cabin crew member was kind, humble, and very attentive. Since I was travelling with my elderly grand parents I was very grateful for this. This member of staff should receive a promotion or at least be recommended for one. He is one employee that I can confirm is adding value to the Caribbean airline company! His name was D. Samlal, he was very professional and an exemplar of an employee. If all your cabin crew could learn from his manners and actions, I have no doubt you will be able to snatch more travelers from other airlines! Because of this most positive experience I had with him, I will continue to fly Caribbean airlines and not hesitate to recommend the company to other travelers!

On April 26th, 2023, a family member and I (Desrene Martin) had our flight booked for Jamaica to depart from Kennedy Intl Airport at 3:30 p.m. The initial time for the flight was 1:00 p.m, but was changed to 3:30 p.m. I (Hyacinth Martin) left my home via a licensed taxi at 8:00 a.m. to avoid the airport "hassel." I had requested a wheelchair (because of my lower and upper extremities health issues); however, it is the taxi driver who had to go inside the airport to locate a person to assist me. (this individual was a great representative for your organization). One this individual wheeled me to an area in th ariport (locked the wheelchair), put my luggage in a safe place, the individual left. I remained in the wheelchiar for approximately 2 1/2 hours without anyone checking on me. When I became thirsty, I called a passerby (airport employee) and asked this individual to how I could get some water. After a very long wait, without the water, an employee of Caribbean Airlines

came to me, and informed me that the flight was cancelled. Why was there no announcement (verbal) or visual made? What if I did not ask for the water, when would I be told that the flight was cancelled? I suppose a supervisory person asked "if I had a family member who could come and get me" My answer was no (I had paid $100 US to a taxi to transport me to the airport).

Eventually, the individual (Desrene Martin) who was to travel with me, arrrived and the driver who took her to the airport, brought me home.

I am requesting refund for my $100.00 which was paid to the taxi driver. To whom should I send the receipt of my payment?

As the saying goes, "things happen" but this was not a good experience for a first time flyer of this carrier..

Caribbean Airlines Property irregularity report - filed by a caribbean airlines baggage agent upon notice of loss or damage to baggage prior to exiting the terminal.

I am not sure how long it take Caribbean Airline to dispute damages to customer property. Can you please give a courtesy follow up regarding claim number [protected], I send an emailed on March and April I am still waiting for a reply back from Caribbean Airlines. This claimed was open since December of 2022.

Leanna Balkaran-Parmashwar Customer Experience Department was handling my claim with all my information. I emailed Leanna March and April still waiting on a response from Caribbean Airline.

Can someone please follow up on this claim, I will appreciate your help.

Good afternoon,

I received an emailed on May 20th, 2023, stating that the complaint board didn’t receive a response after their responses on May 11th, 2023. The company is assuming that the complaint is no longer relevant or no longer interested and marked as resolved.

Prior to receiving the emailed on May 11th, 2023, the company acknowledged my complaint posted on their site, an apologizing for the inconvenience. There is no wording requesting for any more information regarding my complaint. I don’t understand why the company was waiting on a response from me, when they didn’t indicated for a response.

The company advised that someone will contact me directly for an update. I am still waiting on an update from someone which no one contact me indicating in the May 11th 2023 emailed. Therefore my complaint is still relevant and still interesting seeing I am still waiting for an update or someone to reach out to me.

It has been 5 months since I launch a complaint to Caribbean Airline and still no update or anyone reaching out to me regarding my complaint. This complaint has not resolve.

Caribbean Airlines My ticket refund from April 2020 trip cancelation

My April 2020 trip was canceled due to the pandemic. I was offered a voucher for a year. I rebooked my trip, but the dates were changed by your airline. I have called many times and was then offered a refund due to the changed in date by Caribbean Airlines. I'm yet to receive that refund as of April 2023 after many attempts on the phone. I have waited long enough for my refund. Please send me any information that would be helpful to me.

Desired outcome: My desired outcome is to receive a full refund to my credit card. This was the first time using Caribbean Airlines and I hope that it's a positive outcome.

I received an email on May 20th, 2023 stating that Caribbean Airline didn’t receive a response from me regarding my complaint an assuming that the complaint is resolved.

When I received an emailed from the complaint board on April 20th, 2023 it stated they acknowledged my complaint on the site and someone will contact me regarding my issues. It didn’t required any information from me regarding my complaint.

My complaint is still relevant and not resolve seeing no one has contacted or speak to me regarding my complaint. I am still waiting for someone to reach out to me which stated on April 20th, 2023 which was written in the complaint board response. This is not acceptable seeing no one contact me regarding this issues. Therefore my complaint isn’t resolved.

Caribbean Airlines Unaccompanied minor

My 13year old son booked with bw600 Trinidad i paid for the services ,of and unaccompanied minor.which I could say I never fully received .His sister and him was to met up on the flight as she came on a connected flight from Guyana to Trinidad then Canada the final destination for both . The flight was canceled for 1am the next day no one ever came and instructed me of same as I only found out from a friend. We then the enquired about his sister who because of no supervision was left upstairs by her self. the whole flight came down she was left sitting by her self upstairs although once again we paid for the service of unaccompanied minor ,( so disappointed ) now traveling business class they were send to hilton for the night till the time of the flight , only to realize the taxi dropped off 2 children no supervision, the hotel had no booking for these 2 minors as the rest of passengers had so they were left in the lobby unattended, thank God they called me and their Grand mother and I rush down to Hilton to check on them , where he had to call the airport to enquire and have d of informthem book them once again no adult so I woulsupervision accompanied them . They finally got a room was never informed what time the taxi will be back for them so I informed the hotel to call them when ever the taxi arrived . Ok so now 11.15pm at night the hotel front desk called that the driver is waiting , they rushed down to realize all others left leaving once again 2 minors behind at the hotel to come in a taxi alone . Now it all didn't end there as they made it on bw 3600 the flight and we thought it was all good . Our young children travel to a new country first time was never accompanied by the airhostess to check out , these 2 minors had to do all the filing for there self, pull their own bag which they could find and were the only 2 persons left behind in baggage as my son's sister couldn't find her bag at first , then they had to go through immigration by their self, my son called me and I called his father who if I didn't call would not have know where is children were as all other passengers came out way before them . I am highly disappointed and to top it off there were 2 very rude staff in Trinidad both females

Desired outcome: Compensation for our trouble and refund of the fee for unaccompanied minor as we never fully received the service

Caribbean Airlines Delayed Flight

My flight was delayed by one day returning to the United States from Guyana on April 1st.

I need an reimbursement for the double fair I had to pay to go to the airport.

My drive to the airport was over four hours, before I was informed about the delay, I was almost there.

I had to drive all the way back home and paid a second fee to come back to the airport the following day. My reimbursement amount is one hundred and fifty US dollars.

Caribbean Airlines Change of flight travelling from Toronto to Georgetown, Guyana on March 21, 2023

My name is Mahindra Singh and I booked my flight on December 13, 2022 to Guyana. My flight BW 601 was scheduled to depart on March 22, 2023, arriving Port-of Spain , TT on March 23, 2023, then depart at 6:30am, arriving Georgetown 7:30am.

My plans was to travel to TT from Guyana on March 28 and returning to Guyana March 30.

Travel from Guyana to Toronto on April 1.

The complaint I have :

(i) The first leg of my flight on March 22 was re-scheduled and depart TT to Georgetown on March 23 at 4:35pm. I arrived in Port-of Spain 4:30am. I was in transit in TT for 12 hrs not to mention that I was at Toronto airport at 7:00pm on March 22.

I arrived in Georgetown on March 23 at approximately 5:35pm, arrived at my siblings home at 8:30pm. Due to the fatigue, I had to cancel my trip to TT. In conclusion, the reasons I booked my ticket in Dec 2022 was to include the TT trip. I am not happy with what transpire. Thanks, Mahindra Singh

Caribbean Airlines Flight Cancellation Reimbursement Flight # BW526

Good Afternoon,

My name is Gaitree Sukhlall on March 27th my Significant other Loknauth Lakhram travel to Guyana we were to return April 1st to New York. When we got to the airport to check in I got an email stating our flight is cancelled until April 2 I had no where to stay had to go back with a taxi to Berbice stay in a hotel. This cause financial hardships and extreme inconvenience I would like a resolution in regards to being compensated for the additional cost of loss. All my food items that we were bring back to the US was spoiled. Please see the itemized below of our total list expenses

200 US HOTEL

50 US FOOD

360 US FOOD TO BRING BACK

TOTAL IS 510 US

Please assist in this matter at your earliest convenience.

Caribbean Airlines Expenses due to Caribbean delay and cancellation of flights

I'm filing this complaint to be reimbursed for my extra expenses due to Caribbean airlines delay and cancellations. My original flight was schedule for Friday, March 10th, booking referenced # 3W2QUG. I hired a taxi to take me to the airport, then we found out about the cancellation. I was told to come back the next day, as I'm heading to the airport, that flight was cancelled as well.

Please see my receipt below from the company I used. Please contact me at the earliest conveince to resolve this matter.

Desired outcome: I would like to receive compensation for the extra expense for my taxi service.

Caribbean Airlines Unresolved claim

Claim Ref: [protected], Ref:PO.NO:577/23

I have submitted a claim for Transportation/Taxi fee for a flight disruption on Jan 7th, from Georgetown Guyana. I received an email on Feb 16th, 2023 from the Customer Experience Department that I was approved for the transportation expenses. My claim was adjusted, not matching the amount of my receipt and I was advised that the payment will be a direct deposit.

On February 27th I replied to the email received asking for a clarification on the adjusted fee and confirmation on where the direct will be sent.

No one has responded. I have called the number provided in the email several times, [protected] ext. 2424. This number asked the customer to go back to the website and use the customer experience link. I completed all information here asking for an update on my claim and direct deposit and still no response from Caribbean Airlines. I have called the [protected] number and tried every option available and cannot get this issue resolved. I look forward to your reply and a resolution to my issue.

Desired outcome: I would like to know when the refund will be made and how the direct deposit will be made.

Caribbean Airlines Flight Changed

I purchased a flight on Caribbean Airlines from POS to JFK leaving Feb 23 at 12:15 am Caribbean airlines decided to change my flight to Feb 22 @ 10:30 without my consent while the original flight was still available. Caribbean Airlines fail to properly notify me stating that they called me on February 13th, which isn't accurate because the number they called (the phone number that the agent related to me, is not my phone number. because of this change in flight I missed my flight coming home which cause me a hardship of being written up at work, miss my class and had to sleep at Piarco Airport for a number of days.

Desired outcome: I am seeking a refund of my ticket cost.

Caribbean Airlines Caribbean airline delay from 11 o'clock till 7 o'clock at night

I was on flight BW04 from JFk to Kingston Jamaica no one let us know that the plane was delayed we were there waiting until to board let us know that they have a problems The airline would need to be fixed and may they do not have a plan at this time which is very unacceptable because people have plans and delay cost me more money than I expected to pay for someone to pick me up from the airport I had a baby that was very grumpy and it's very very unacceptable and I will never fly with you guys ever again And also added I would also like a full Refund for my time [protected]@gmail.com

February 8 2023 MY flight was delayed until 8:20 pm and my flight # BW17. booking reference 3XB9WM and my ticket # [protected]

Upon arrival at JFK International Airport and I went to baggage claim I realize both my checked on luggage was damaged. Each had one of the wheels missing and I had to rent one of the carts to place my suitcases on.

Desired outcome: I would want my total cost of my suitcases back.

Caribbean Airlines Duration for a refund -7-21 working days

I booked a return flight from T&T to St Vincent under the name Peter David Fletcher. However, after i received a prompt on Caribbean Airlines site indicating that my booking was incomplete and I was timed out of the system. I saw no confirmation email so I followed the prompt and booked again because the price was increasing, only to realise that I doubled booked. I called 625 7200 and they arranged a refund in 7-21working days, confirmed via email. After that I received an email at 17:32hrs indicating that i needed to complete my booking again. There must be some fault in CALs system.

My problem is why must i wait 7-21 working days to get my refund, which is incurring a 24% interest charge while I wait. The faulty system was not caused by me. Is Cal going to pay the interest incurred on my credit card? I await your response before exploring my legal options. Please note I am open to an amicable resolution.

Caribbean Airlines Purchase tickets

Purchased tickets on June 14th Booked December 17th to Jan 6th

departure was Price line order ID B6112AC with west jet. Returning flight was with Caribbean airlines 4GSZIC in which got cancelled and changed to Jan 5th. This was for 3 persons. This part of the trip we paid 1905.59.

New reservation was made by Caribbean airlines for Jan 5 2023 received a confirmation dated Jan 1st FDWFSI Airline reservation code 4GSZIC (BW)

We arrive at airport to be informed by the agent he could see the reservation and seats but the electronic tickets where not sent over. He called the supervisor and they called Head Office and where told we had to purchase new tickets. We did not take a flight that day but went back to Barbados to see what could be done we where told to call price line. Price line stated they did not cancel the flight and it was on Caribbean airlines. So now I am trying to contact you to see what you can do. As you have been paid and we did not have tickets. We travel several times per year and this is the first time with Caribbean airlines . We are traveling on 12th April - 26th 2023.

Please look into this issue and trusting that this matter will be looked after. We paid in full and did not receive our return flight we have been told that Caribbean airlines has the money and tickets.
