writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the service I received at your Chilliwack location on October 10. I visited your store to return a caulking gun purchased on September 24 due to an injury that prevented me from using it. The initial customer service representative informed me that your return policy is 30 days, which aligned with my understanding.
However, a larger staff member intervened, became confrontational, and refused to accept the return. Despite my polite explanations and references to the store's policy, she became aggressive, grabbed my receipt, and handled it roughly, causing it to rip. Her behavior was physically intimidating, especially given the significant size difference between us.
When I requested to speak with the store manager, I was kept waiting for 10 minutes. When the manager arrived, he seemed uninterested in addressing the situation and simply instructed another employee to process the refund without acknowledging the staff member's behavior.
I requested an apology from the staff member for her violent behavior, but the manager instead offered to "talk to her." When I insisted on an immediate apology, the staff member approached me with visible hostility and offered a half-hearted apology, saying "sorry that you felt that way."
I hope that you will take my complaint seriously and take necessary actions to address the behavior of your staff member. I would appreciate a formal apology and assurance that steps will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Sincerely,
Maryam Rahnama
