Burger King review: Awful customer service - dirty restaurant

First of all, please let me state that I do not normally do this sort of thing - but after the experience my husband, my parents and I had at one of your Burger King locations - I feel the need to vent and let someone know what we experienced.

We visited the Burger King at 3300 Adventureland Drive, Altoona, Iowa - 50009 on Monday January 1, 2024 at approximately 11:30 am.

We were greeted by two different people saying 'hello, welcome, and happy new year' to all of us - that was the nicest thing from our visit to this Burger King.

#1. I asked what ingredients came on a whopper. The lady behind the cash register/counter said 'WHAT (three different times) before I spoke VERY slow for her to tell me what was on this sandwich. Her tone of how she spoke was not nice - FYI.

#2. Myself, my husband and my parents all ordered the Number 1 (the Whopper meal w/ fries and a drink). * My husband was the ONLY one who ordered cheese on his whopper. *

#3. My dad asked if he could substitute his fries for mozzarella sticks and she told him no, but he could buy them separately.

#4. My parents said NO to the cheese on theirs (but ended up getting them on their sandwiches anyway) - and they ate them like that, as we decided it was easier than complaining to possibly make the situation worse (since we already had our food).

#5. The cost for a Number 1 meal at this location was $9.99. Take that times four meals, the total should have been $39.96 (pre-tax). Receipt shows $43.56 before tax.

#6. We were charged $9.99 one time and charged $33.57 three times. (Thats three sandwiches with cheese, when we only wanted ONE with cheese).

#7. Our pre-tax order should have came to $40.36 - (three NO cheese meals and ONE with cheese for an additional 40 cents for the cheese).

#8. We were charged a total of $46.61 when in all actuality we should have been charged $43.18.

Now I know that a difference of $3.43 is not much to many, but to my parents (who paid) who live on a VERY fixed income, that adds up. And the fact that this entire visit was not friendly just added to the turmoil and complete frustration we were are feeling.

* The ladies restroom was SO disgusting, my mom and I both walked out and did not use. When we told the lady behind the counter it was 'icky' and needed cleaned, she just said 'yeah, I know - but haven't had time'. * BUT, we were the ONLY customers in that store the entire time we were there.

* EVERY SINGLE table inside the restaurant was dirty and not wiped off. I had baby wipes in my purse, so used that to clean a table for us to sit down and eat. Before I left, I said to another lady behind the counter, 'your dining room tables are all dirty'. This person just looked at me like I was stupid and walked away. *

I can quite honestly say, we will NEVER stop at that Burger King location again.
