**Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs!**
Budget Car Rental charged me $651 (including a $300 hold) **before even verifying that I could rent a car.** As a result, I paid for a service I never received in a state where I **don’t even live!** At 3:00 AM, stranded at the airport, I had to spend **$90 on an Uber** just to get to my hotel—two hours away. To make matters worse, customer service was completely unhelpful, simply telling me I’d have to wait **7 to 10 business days** for a refund. So here I am, stuck in Ohio, out **$700, no car, and no real assistance** from Budget. No company should **take money before ensuring the customer can actually leave with a vehicle.** Absolute failure of service—never again!
Recommendation: Go somewhere else do not rent from budget they are disrespectful and disgusting
I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Budget Car Rental at Ohio John Glenn International Airport. They withdrew $650 from my account before confirming my eligibility for a vehicle, only to deny me a rental and leave me stranded in a state I don’t live in. This process should have been handled differently—verifying my ability to rent before taking my money. Now my funds are pending, and I’ve been told it could take 5 to 7 business days before I receive a refund, leaving me without both a vehicle and the financial resources to make alternate arrangements. This lack of responsibility and transparency is unacceptable, and I would not recommend renting from them!
They took your money before even confirming you were eligible, left you stranded at 3AM, and now act like waiting 7–10 days is just normal — that’s straight-up robbery dressed as a rental service. You didn’t get a car, but you got fleeced. Budget’s name fits — because their standards sure as hell are.
